BabaBoom Islington Review - Islington - London - The Infatuation
"In a city full of kebab-related choices, Bababoom is a pretty good option if you’re on Upper Street. Kebabs are served with flatbread or a freshly made fattoush salad, and range from 24-hour marinaded mutton, to coal fired cauliflower. It’s the kind of place where a bit of pomegranate is thrown on here and a drizzle of tahini there on a lot of the dishes. Generally, it’s fresh and good value, and somewhere you can easily imagine yourself relying on if you live or work nearby." - Jake Missing
Battersea Kebab Shop Bababoom Is Opening in Islington | Eater London
"Launched in August 2016 from a Battersea Rise site, this Middle Eastern–inspired kebab restaurant expanded via a delivery-only Whitechapel kitchen last year and is opening a second bricks-and-mortar on Upper Street in Islington in August. The new venue is about two-thirds bigger than the Battersea site but will retain an open kitchen, lively music and ambience; the menu will be largely unchanged and highlights sticky sumac wings with date molasses and lime; crispy squid with house dukkah; saffron and orange chicken shish kebab; grilled cauliflower with sweet potato hummus kebab; beef brisket, chilli and smoked cheese kofta kebab; and lamb, black olive and whipped feta flatbread. Planned additions include a branded house draught beer and a range of £5 lunch kebabs as part of a push into north London, with the Upper Street opening taking over a recently vacated 70-cover site amid a neighbourhood facing a casual-dining downturn." - Emma Hughes
Came in here on a whim, and absolutely no regrets! It was bloody delicious.
We got the chicken shawarma kebab and the falafel (vegan) with a side of curly fries to share. Honestly no faults at all - the portion size was really big and the fillings were generous.
Our waitress was lovely and surprisingly we were the only ones in there so got served really quickly. We will be back!!!

Four of us have just enjoyed a lovely time in Bababoom this evening. We ordered assorted Baba's Grill dishes, with two of us choosing chicken, but with beef added also - highly recommended! Service was excellent (I'm sorry: I should have asked your name.) - helpful, attentive, but, more importantly, friendly and cheerful.
It's a super little place, with a great menu, and top-notch staff. What's not to like!

Delicious kebab and great vibes! Ran from their Stratford location to Battersea Rise and got a free kebab during their Kebab Chase event #poweredbykebabs.

Went to Bababoom in Clapham straight after the gym. My friend and I had the power bowl and chicken kebab plate. Service was quick, food came out hot and fresh, and everything tasted really healthy and satisfying. Definitely a great post-workout spot.

Kabab was pretty good tasting but not hot. The filling was room temperature and the bread was cool so it was not really enjoyable. I should have asked to have it put in the microwave for a half minute. Staff was nice. Hot sauce was too much for my sensitive system but spice fans will enjoy.

We came for the loaded Doritos week and it did not disappoint! Food was amazing and the staff were lovely, especially our server Alicia! Would 10/10 recommend

This is simply the best meal that I have had for a long time.
The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and the service faultless.
Small venue, toilets at the back and there are tables there, we sat here owing to the pram.
Food was so so good!
Cannot recommend enough!

Yelp
We walked in very close to closing, and thus had no option but to choose take away for dinner. Let it be known that the kitchen closes 30+ minutes before the actual restaurant, so make sure you plan for that if you're a late eater.
My husband got a lamb pita and I chose falafel, with a side of garlic chips on the side! Although we would choose the skip the chips next time, both pitas were GINORMOUS and absolutely delicious. Tons of protein, veggies and sauce, and definitely enough for two meals if you choose to split it! Everything was warm and cozy, and very authentic for "fast" food! We would happily return!

Yelp
I'm never very happy when I walk into a restaurant at six pm to be asked "Have you booked?". Especially when the restaurant is essentially empty. Anyway, on being seated( at a side counter, next to the kitchen exit), it soon became apparent why- the place was rammed to the gunnels in minutes. Food was excellent - thoroughly recommend the whitebait as a starter. For mains -well, it's various versions of grilled meat and flatbread or salad. Well executed, with reasonable-sized portions. Desserts are a bit dull ; we shared some sort of chocolate confection, whose details I can't remember. Staff were super ( dare I say over) friendly. Dinner for two ( 2 1/2 courses, a couple of drinks) came to around £50.

Yelp
It is a more posh version of a kebab. Nothing to fault, and the grilled meats are done well, but again it is more expensive as well. If I lived nearby it would be a place I would frequent for casual meals, but nothing special to make a journey for, hence the middle of the road 3 stars.

Yelp
Came to brunch in this cute little spot with a male bae today and it was all sorts of delish, not to mention the right amount of cozy and unpretentious, which is everything my violent hangover needed. They serve a delish spin on middle eastern food, and the staff is absolutely adorbs, which again helps with the hangover. Would totes return.

Yelp
Just eaten dinner here. Although the food was very good I was slightly disappointed that for £11.50 I needed to decide between flatbread and salad. I think a small amount of salad should have been included and would have filled up the large plate! Service was good

Yelp
Baba boom is in a spot which has seen 4 different eateries in the past 4 years so we were a bit worried that this would be another one that will fail to stay. We came here with the whole family for Sunday brunch including our baby and toddler. We had the meat flat bread, veggie and chicken shish. All we're very good and tasty. This is a great alternative to lining up on the opposite side of the road for breakfast. We will definitely return for more. Only filter coffee is available with free refills but could be improved. Lots of other more healthy drinks so might try that next time. Hopefully this place can survive against the competition in the area!

Yelp
Excellent quality of food for the price. Main courses £8-11 and there is plenty. Very tasty. Has a busy vibe and good interior. Recommend.

Yelp
Unfortunately the place is quite small so you almost always have to wait. The problem is the staff will mislead you and say it will be 20-30 minutes however after waiting for over an hour there was no updates or messages. If your not sure how long it will be just be honest with people, very poor customer service.
