Babe’s Is a Chicago Bar Dedicated Exclusively to Women’s Sports | Eater Chicago

"Dedicated solely to women’s athletics, this Logan Square sports bar plays only women’s sports on eight flatscreens (with the occasional Puppy Bowl exception) and positions itself as a cultural space to help grow that fandom. Inside the 1,600-square-foot room with a cozy back patio, the look is funky and retro: a bright pink wall faces a wooden L-shaped bar; yellow plaid barstools and a yellow banquette pop under futuristic light fixtures; a vintage scoreboard hangs near a digital photo booth; and bathrooms shift from pink to green, highlighting disco balls on the ceiling. Drinks include a hibiscus pale ale created with Marz Brewing, five drafts (four local) plus tapped prosecco, a strong wine program in the works with rotating red, white, orange, and rosé by the glass, carafe, or bottle, six cocktails, and nonalcoholic and low-alcohol options. There’s no kitchen—guests can bring their own food—and a nightly French fry drop with neighboring Yaba’s Food & Middle Eastern Grill serves as a bonus snack. Trophies and athlete ephemera—ribbons, photos, and trading cards—are epoxied into the high-top tables from community donations, underscoring the mission; on big game days, “Between Periods” pregaming offers team stats, player details, and insider gossip. Open 4 p.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday; 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday; noon to 1 a.m. Saturday; and noon to midnight Sunday, with opening day set for September 27." - Lisa Shames

First time visiting lastnight and the vibe is out of this world! Extremely grateful for this bar and community because women deserve to be seen, feel loved and have safe spaces to go! I really enjoyed the photobooth and the patio! The Margarita and Tequila lemon drop was so good! I look forward to unwinding and finding my community here in the future! Thank you!

I am so excited that Babe’s is here! I have been eagerly awaiting their opening. I went tonight to watch the WNBA semifinal game between the Fever and the Aces! Wonderful atmosphere with the game on all tvs. A great bar, back patio, and photo booth. I met the owner, Nora, who is so kind. We are so lucky to have Babe’s in Chicago! Can’t wait to go back!

What a fun and welcoming atmosphere. The people working at Babe’s treat everyone like a friend. Watching them interact with customers, I couldn’t tell a regular from a newcomer who just stumbled in. They make a great cosmopolitan.

This place is a true gem. In a city of amazing bars, it has made a name for itself immediately and set itself out apart. No they will not play men's sports! But who watches those anyway? This place is welcoming and kind and inclusive. If you don't check out the bathroom, you're missing out.

Until you visit Babe's you might not realize how necessary it is to have this welcoming of an environment in Chicago. The warmth of the interior and the personal touches of positive affirmations at the bar seats on the engraved nameplates at the bar really highlight the attention to subliminal positivity. There's also aspects of the ownerships sports journey all over including a resin encased display of medals, ribbons, and photos built into the tabletops at some seats. Don't think for a second that they any less of a sports bar first focus though -- it's practically floor to wall TVs behind the bar and basically anywhere a TV makes sense to be. They just also happen to care about lighting and honoring the role that sports can play in our lives. Babe's fills a gap in the chicago bar scene bigger than the distance to center field from homeplate. They unapologetically honor sports, and they don't alienate viewers to do it.

Google
I had a great time being at this place. It's very warm and inviting and not to mention a very impressive merch area for a bar. I do miss the fact that I can't watch NFL or NBA games here but long live women's sports. I would like a place to watch football around other queer identified folks who also enjoyed sports but I understand the owners desire to create a safe space that is women celebrated.

My first time visiting Babe's was a wonderful experience. Very personable and friendly service, great ambiance, and such a chill space overall. Their drink selection is magnificent and I'm excited to hear that they'll have new additions to it in the future. Will definitely be back ☺️

Yelp
Recently went here on opening weekend. The line to get in was down the street but it was worth the wait. Great atmosphere, friendly people, good drinks, and amazing back patio. There were no sports playing though. I hope they play old reels of great women's games events of the past cause that's always fun to watch .

Yelp
The drinks, the vibes, the staff are all INCREDIBLE. We needed a space that will celebrate women's sports. I have been to other spaces where you need to fight to get a women's game on- I love walking in here and knowing i will ONLY see women's sports on screen!!!

Yelp
Such a cute sports bar! Absolutely will be back for more WNBA games and they had an absolutely delicious espresso martini

Yelp
Lady at bar was so rude! It's a sports bar but they will only play women sports games ...if you even ask about another game you will get attitude! Yikes!!!
