A homely, inspiring retreat with excellent facilities and great attention to detail. The coziest Soho House I’ve visited! Very dog-friendly, with fantastic Cowshed treatments—but it would be even better if the Cowshed had its own proper sauna and steam room. The pool area isn’t warm enough, making it cold to walk between facilities, especially in winter. The outdoor wood-fired sauna is absolutely amazing, though the door could use better insulation. Food is superb, and in-room breakfast is a highlight. Don’t miss the cookies at turndown—an absolute must! Also, renting wellies for exploring the beautiful countryside trails is a great touch!

We first visited Babington in 2011 for a short honeymoon after our wedding and have return annually since! |I don’t often read reviews but when I saw the ones on here it didn’t put me off but I felt slightly apprehensive… well Babington is better than ever!!|Decor amazing, dried flowers particularly good around lights in the bar area. |Our room we have had before (room 7) and it had been updated a bit since we last had it and it was perfect.|Food brilliant, love the menu choice, drinks perfect, service also just right! |Spa reception very welcoming too.|I think one of the best things Babington do is sort your car and luggage on arrival , we often visit the Pig which is a similar price and non of this is offered.|Cannot fault a thing.||Check out guy was great as was the manager. Babington is a real gem and so homely. I wouldn’t chose anywhere else!

Beautiful grounds, the food is absolutely excellent, and the spa is such a treat. My son loves the pools and the recent fireworks night they held was unreal. My favourite place to be ❤️

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Babbington House with 2 dogs. The vibe is very laid back home from home, don’t stand on ceremony but this hotel is very expensive and standards are just a bit below what you would expect. |Whilst we really enjoyed a relaxing 3 days I did report a few things to reception:-|There were good sequins all over the bedroom carpet upon arrival so this clearly hadn’t been vacuumed.|The sink in the en-suite was leaking all over the floor as was the bath/shower mixer |The toilet seat didn’t fit|The bedroom carpet was badly stained|The lockers in the pool room were ridiculously complicated and most people just left them open.|Tiles missing around pool area||Our meal on the first night was delicious but the service was so slow as it was again for breakfast the following morning. The staff were very aloof and there appeared to be no management organisation. Drinks took forever and our dirty plates were left on the table. The staff seem to be very stand offish and young with no concept of customer service and how a welcoming smile or a simple good morning is so important. The management really need to give them a good shake up!!|| We love dogs and regularly take them away with us to very nice hotels but I was surprised how dogs here are not required to be on a lead and are allowed to be outside the rooms and in the garden off leash.||After the poor service on our first night we decided to eat outside the hotel for breakfast and dinner. The Pig which is very near by had delicious food, attentive staff and also welcomed dogs. This is a new hotel but will be a very serious competitor to Babbington House.||We thoroughly enjoyed the fabulous afternoon tea and the many footpaths easily accessible from the grounds. Special mention to the Portuguese receptionist (apologies I did not make a note of your name) who was very pleasant and the only member of staff who actually bothered to interact with us for the whole of the 3 days.

Amazing location, staff, pools and spa. Even in the rain it was a wonderful place to visit. By far the best poolside changing rooms I’ve ever used. Delicious food and a gorgeous walled garden. I cannot recommend it enough

I first stayed at Babington 15 years ago. Sadly it’s now just a shadow of its former self. The place is barely being maintained. The gardens are full of mess and weeds. The delightful building, now shabby, decrepit and dirty, really deserves better.||I don’t blame the staff, they are all lovely and hard-working. They are just very clearly over-stretched. I had to stick my hand in the air to get basic service. Drinks arrived after the food had been served. Orders were taken down incorrectly. It felt like a mess and was stressful to navigate. ||The pool area is disgusting. The outdoor pool itself is literally murky with hair and scum. You can barely see the bottom. The clientele “poolside” are superficial wannabes wearing signet rings and yakking into mobiles about profit margins and sales forecasts. And that’s just the women.||At the heart of it all is the fact that there are just too many people using the place and not enough money is being spent on staff and maintenance. Take your custom elsewhere.

Yelp
Stayed at Babington House with some friends for a catch up weekend and had an amazing time. It is part of the soho house group although non members are able to stay on certain days of the week. The grounds are beautiful and well Kempton, definitely would suggest a walk in the walled flower garden! There is an on-site spa 'the Cowshed' which offers a range of treatments from massage and facials to manicures and waxing, as well as full use of the indoor and outdoor heated pool, sauna and steam room. There is a large dining room as well as a bar, games room and multiple smaller lounge areas for guests to relax in. I found the staff to be overall very friendly and welcoming. Negatives - service was at times a little slow especially at breakfast. At no point during my stay were there any hand towels in bathroom in the main house which means either they were not restocked at all or they need to be restocked more often. Overall, me and my friends had a great time and it was the perfect place for a relax and catch up. Sue.

Yelp
I wonder, would it be cost effective to sell my house and just live here for the rest of my life? Could I do that? That would be just perfect. Babbington House is part of the Soho House group, and swanky it is too. Doesn't come across as pretentious though. Small and cosy lounge rooms, dining room in the orangerie, indoor and outdoor pool, gym and the birthplace of Cowshed cosmetics means there is an amazing spa on site too with a huge range of treatments. Attention to detail seems to be a value above all others here, everything is perfect, everything is manicured, everything is worked hard to make it look like effortless luxury. It is so tranquil, even though there were obviously a large number of people there judging by the number of cars in the car park. I have no idea where they all were but everywhere we went we were alone, which was fine by us. All rooms have unlimited Cowshed products to use and test (for sale at the shop of course) and this was a nice touch. It is pricey, but is definitely one of those places where not a penny spent is regretted, and you are likely to crave the opportunity to return and spend more money.

Yelp
This boutique hotel is pricey as mentioned by the earlier reviewer, however it's a phenomenal place to unwind with your family. They are expanding the Cowshed spa area to include a gym and more hotel rooms specifically for treatments. We went to the Bonfire Night party and the fireworks, kids entertainers, mulled cyder, hog roast, etc made it a night to remember. If you can splash out, or want to take someone special to get engaged, go for it!

Yelp
Excellent, excellent, excellent. The ultimate boutique hotel, run by the Soho House group. Set in the middle of the countryside, once you close the doors you could be in Soho. A renovated Georgian country house with Funky public areas, stylish rooms (all mod cons including DVD, Xbox, LCD TV), this place is achingly hip. Service is excellent, nothing is too much trouble and kids are really well looked after. There's indoor/outdoor pool. nursery and even a cinema! The Cowshed Spa is outstanding, with individual treatment huts dotted in the grounds running down to the lake. But....and there has to be one....here's the but. Do not expect to leave having spent at least £500 per night for two people. Rooms are upwards of £250/night and you'll easily spend £100 on dinner & £50 on lunch. If that's in your price range, go for it. You cannot beat this place (but at a price).

Yelp
I always thought that as a media bunny I could never ever! live in the countryside. Ever. I am a city girl:) Babigton House has changed my mind (if I could live there, that is). The private member's club/hotel (you can book as an outsider too, but you don't get the discount-still so worth it though), which is beyond words. Very near to Glastonbury so if you don't fancy mud and tent, it is perfect place to come back to before dawn. They even clean your wellies before you set off again- every day. In fact, they even lend you wellies! And bycicles! It is a massive old British house, which used to be family residency (there is a little chapel attached and most of family has graves there, even though today the chapel is only used for weddings). Well, and the hotel itself? The only place I have ever been to that looks gorgeous, is 100% practical and whatever crosses your mind like you might want/ need, is already in place. Perfect for a kinky weekend (I'd prefer a week at least, to make most of it:). Mirrors in all the right places, but not too obviously so, so if you are a frigid prude, you'll find the design attractive without any naughty thoughts crossing your mind. When we walked into our 'room' (size of our flat nearly) on left hand side was a bath tube, opposite to it a couch, opposite to which were to mirrors with two sinks (mirrors could be lowered to view the whole room), then shower room /steam room and further into living room a massive plasma TV, sofa, chairs, mirror on the wheels. All leading to a patio with bath tube so big you could have a little house party in there, and convertable into a whirlpool, with mirror. In the nighttime, real treat.overlooking the gardens as well. Bedroom beautiful, perfect duvets. All facilities (like tennis, table tennis, swimming pool indoors/outdoors, steam rooms, aromatherapy rooms, sauna, gym) are for you to use. They also have amazing spa, Cowshed actually being their products. Cowshed is also everywhere, the bottles of iteven in the swimming pool showers. Also a first place I have ever seen 'swimwear tumbledryer' . Hair driers, straighteners, thongs also everywhere, even already plugged in. Whilst I was having a massage so was Collin Farrel who was there with his girlfriend and in the room next to us were Jamie Cullum and Sophie Dahl. The real treat however was on a last day when Nick Cave sat nect to me on the bar. If you should ever take someone to only place, give them the only treat during the year or only one weekend break, it should be this one. I promise noone will be disappointed. The cuisine is also amazing. Just loved it.

Yelp
Attended a wedding at Babington House last week, left my heels behind and my Dignity. Amazing.
