Babin's Seafood House

If you are craving seafood, this place is an absolute must-visit. It was suggested to me, and I'm so glad I went. They serve incredibly fresh seafood, and the highlight for me was the red snapper—it was truly the best I've ever had. You can tell that everything here is made with care, and that "made with love" feeling really comes through in every bite. Our waitress Dana I think is her name* ...was extremely professional passionate and informed!! Will be back

One of the very few Landry’s concepts that hold their reputation. They never disappoint. It’s always a pleasure to dine at Babin’s. Love their menu selection. Service was attentive and not pushy. But the food was AMAZINGLY tasty. The only down side with this visit was that the temperature in the restaurant was ridiculous low, it was freezing inside there. But hey, who cares when you have that delicious ponchatrain fish in front of you !?!

The drinks and dessert were very good. Probably the highlight of dinner. The crawfish queso was ok but not very warm. The egg rolls were pretty good but again not very warm. The stuffed shrimp very good but the fries weren’t hot. The shrimp poboy was tasty and the bread was correct and fresh. But the shrimp and fries weren’t hot. The fried fish crumbled apart very easily but it was tasty enough. All in all, didn’t love it enough to say I would return for a dining experience. But I would probably return to sit in the bar for drinks and appetizers.

4/11/25: While running an errand in Katy with my sister, we stumbled upon a Babin’s location - what a nostalgic find! My husband and I used to be regulars at the Willowbrook spot for Happy Hour, but sadly, it closed its doors years ago. The Frozen Cajun Twists hit the spot with a decent kick and plenty of flavor. However, the Happy Hour food menu has definitely seen some changes. The catfish nuggets were a solid choice - good flavor and great value - but the shrimp kisses were a letdown. Tiny, underwhelming, and lacking spice. If stuffed shrimp jalapeños are what you’re after, your best bet is to head next door to Saltgrass! For reference, Babin’s offers their Lunch Menu seven days a week until 4 pm, with Happy Hour running Monday–Friday from 3–7 pm and Saturday–Sunday from 11 am–6 pm.

I LOVEED IT HERE. Nancy our waiter was just so sweet! She helped me so much and I just couldn’t help but adore it. The food was amazingly seasoned but not too spicy. The food was cooked amazingly. I got 2 pound of crawfish with potatoes. I highly recommend the garlic butter it is made to perfection. The crawfish bisque which my mom got she said was amazing! It was also amazing for my sister who had her wisdom teeth come out. My mom got the creamy version which was also perfect for my sister. My sister got her own fish and the fish was cooked amazingly and flakey enough for my sister to eat comfortably. I absolutely adored this place and could talk about it for hours.

My husband and I have been coming to this location for years, and it's always pleasant, but today was truly the best. I was there for my birthday and the waitress Lindsey was so kind from the very beginning. She made sure to anticipate the things we needed and even suggested different things for our 3 year old. The food was amazing as always and we left very happy with the experience. Definitely reccomend.

8/11 UPDATE: Disapointed. Our appetizers and food were PERFECT. Service was just terrible (for a lack of better words). The wait for EVERYTHING was unbearable! We renamed our server Raven, "dumpy" because she would disappear forever. The wait for refills, boxes, food lasted a lifetime...ugh...never asked if we were Landry's members and we didn't get to add/use points. Hosts could use some improvement.. Never friendly.. Other than it was super cold inside, service is always above & beyond. Fun place, intimate dining, great cocktails, appetizers & entrees. Have never tried a dessert, but I'm sure they're divine! Always a pleasure.

It feels like I am in New Orleans, and the wide variety of fish they have that day are marked on a card placed in the menu, as well as displayed on the giant chalk board. There is a nice selection of items on the lunch meals. The service was outstanding.

We had the best service tonight by Jocelyn! The food and ambience and service was all 5 stars! The manager, Matt stopped by a few times to check on us and we made sure to also tell him our waitress was wonderful!!! We highly recommend Babins in Katy!!! They have the best you peel em shrimp also for an appetizer!!!

We come to Babin's every time my dad or mom has a gift card lol! Always satisfied with their quality of food and their portion sizes. We started with one of their special Mardi Gras apps, the fried crawfish queso. I was expecting something on the smaller side, but it was huge! Queso had the perfect texture, not too runny and not too thick. Also the queso wasn't too salty- the cheese had a mild taste, which was good since the saltiness came from the fried crawfish. I will say it was almost impossible to scoop up the queso and crawfish on the thin chip without breaking it haha, so it was easier to just spoon it on top. We dipped the bread into the queso, and that was the move. Their bourbon street pasta is my go-to. Love how they generously load it with their crawfish, sausage, and shrimp especially. It is a very flavorful and heavy dish but soo delicious. As for the babin's mixed grill, I really enjoyed the tilapia topped with the lemon butter crawfish. The tilapia was crispy, and the lemon butter had the most amazing flavor. The server said her favorite pick from the mixed grill was the scallops, but personally, it was a bit too salty for me! Plenty of parking, great service, and nice interior with spacious seating!

All 3 business guests had Catfish Atchafalaya and Lobster Bisque. All 3 guests got sick by that afternoon. This is the only meal all 3 have ever eaten together. Restaurant Manager Jeff Parker said since no one else had gotten sick there was nothing he could do, including any credit or reimbursement. No wonder the Babin's at Willowbrook closed...

The one star is not for the food. The food is always excellent at this location along with the service. Todays 1 star is all about the General Manager Jeff Parker yelling at a server while his guests were eating, instead of quietly taking the person aside and doing it outside of earshot. I asked to speak to him and he disappeared. After paying I asked the hostess to please ask him to come out so I could share my miserable experience and he sends the kitchen manager and never came out. The food is great. I had the golden tile. We couldn't even finish our meals and left most of everything, and left.

Nick S did an amazing job for our anniversary, would highly recommend Nick and Babins in Katy,Tx The food was perfect and service was excellent as well.

The food here was okay 3/5 The service was 4/5 The inside seating was very comfortable, we sat at a round table near the window. I ordered the Bourbon St. Bread Pudding and I honestly didn't like it at all, which was disappointing because I'm always hype to find some nice bread pudding. I ordered the Zydeco pasta, it was 3/5 ... didn't get pictures :(

The food and service were great. We visited Sunday around noon and it wasn't too crowded. Emani was our server and she was really nice.

We came in around 3PM for an early dinner, party of 4. Big thank you to our lovely waitress Analyse who was nothing but sweet. We left with more smiles on our face than we came in with! April fools, haha. The portion sizes were generous and everyone liked their meals. My sister really enjoyed the calamari. Crab Bisque was yummy, got the random idea to put those croutons from the salad with it. So good! Wish it came with garlic bread or something.

I had happy hour margaritas which tasted good, not like a headache waiting for you in the morning, I had a cup of chicken gumbo and some fries Fried Calamari. Price was on point and service was great. I definitely recommend checking this place out. The happy hour is only valid in the bar area.

If you have not had lunch at Babin's, it's definitely worth a look. My wife had the $12 blackened chicken and loved it. I had the crawfish half and half, which was offered as a special with red snapper bites instead of fried crawfish tails. The crawfish étouffée was delicious, and the fried snapper bites were excellent. Add a side of dirty rice, and this was a very enjoyable meal. Landry's has a rewards club called "Landry's Select". We signed up for it a week prior at Saltgrass. Basically, we paid $25 to get setup, then received $50 in credits to use right away. So we cashed-in one of the rewards with our meal. If you like the Landry's restaurants, ask your server to get setup. All in all, for lunch we spent about $15 per person for a quality meal (drinks brought it closer to $20 per person). Not bad at all!

This place used to be very good, then Landry's purchased it years ago and it's slowly gone down hill. We moved to Colorado for business in 2013 moving back home to Richmond Texas in 2023. This is now a Landry's owned location. Landry's has destroyed several great eateries, Joes Crab Shack, Salt Grass, Red Lobster, Bubba Gump's just to name a few. We noticed new menus, the portions were much smaller and the food was over salted. Not everything coming out of a Sysco truck belongs on an expensive plate. Sysco supplies Landry's restaurants and does it with a frozen variety of entrées and side dishes. The service is good, but the food is really struggling. The salads are showing lettuce that's turning with brown spots, pre-shredded Parmesan from a bag, where originally they came out and shredded fresh Parmesan over the salad, the food is over salted, or just over seasoned the portions are smaller by at least half, there is an absence of fresh vegetables or fresh in general. The Babin's we once enjoyed is gone and for 4 people it's an expensive lesson to be learned $184. Remember Joe's Crab Shack, Red Lobster and the others mentioned above, remember how great the food was, portions were great, drinks were exceptional. They've all become Walmart's as Landry's is a big monster gobbling up the competition, reducing portions and pouring Sysco frozen food into each location with each brand they purchase. This is sad, really hoped this place would retain its identity. But it's no longer Babin's, it's just called Babin's. Landry's, please don't purchase another exceptional restaurant. Competition is great and allows the public to experience diversity in the market place. Sure you will lose business and you will have to lower your prices, but you will reap the customer you deserve.

Circling back to add that the Bourbon Street pasta and the red beans and rice is so good! Definitely a 5/5. They seafood is fresh the sauce is amazing. Cesar salad was better than what I had previously, definitely 5/5. Also, I feel like they did something special to the lemonade this time it tasted like they made it in the house. It was so good! This is easily becoming one of my favorite restaurants.

Love coming here when I come to Texas. The atmosphere and the vibe here is very Chill. My waitress Eliza was amazing and very tentative. She made sure we understood the menu, and she took her time answering all of my questions. My food came out hot and seasoned to perfection. The fish was definitely fresh. This place is definitely a place to come and visit....

Update - Manager Andy called to personally apologize & gifted me with a seafood fondue & a cheesecake for my birthday. Thank you for making it right for your customers. We will be back to try the other dishes.

We had a large party and the best waitress! I am blank in her name right now (sorry)! We instantly loved her personality and the way she treated her tables. Very attentive and the food was great of course. I had their sweet potato (with all the goodness loaded on it) for the first time and it was absolutely delish!

I love Babin's , it's normally our go to on date night because they always provide great Service , and the food is Amazing

Went to Babins this weekend for son Dylan B-Day. Food was delicious as always. We went to Orleans a competing restaurant in Katy last time and was soo disappointed in quality and quantity. It was a great idea we came back here for our Nawlings food craving. Also, they didn't cut back on quantity due to inflation, was a big plus.

Service was great but the fried Oysters were awful. The oysters were covered in heaps of flour then fried. So much thick flour batter when oysters should be lightly coated with cornmeal. Babins DO BETTER AND GET SOMEONE IN THE KITCHEN WHO KNIWS HOW TO FRY OYSTERS!!!

Food was good, service was too. Oysters Rockefeller was definitely a good starter course. If you like seafood, you'll like Babin's.

Used to love the food, but it's gone down hill. The Brussel sprouts special side was terrible. Boiled sprouts with Cajun seasoning - not good! The redfish was tough and a little over cooked and lacked flavor. Our waitress was super nice, but they were so busy, she didn't have a chance! Poor lady was run ragged. As a result, service was soooooo sloooooooow. Poor management.... Won't be back...

I've tried the Babin's Willowbrook location and never had a good dining experience so I had given up on them. However, after many years of staying away from Babin's, I decided yesterday Sunday evening to give the Katy location a try and I'm so ecstatic that I did! My husband and I had the most delightful and pleasant dining experience! Service: Customer Service was on point! The hostess greeted us with a warm welcoming and friendly smile. She immediately found us a nice clean table for two. We were seated and waited for about two minutes before our servers came to take our drink orders. We had one main server but he was training two other people which was cool. They were all friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and he gave us some great suggestions. They consistently checked in on us throughout the entire time we were there asking if we were comfortable, if we needed anything, how's the food tasting, etc. Food: The food was on POINT! We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. They were soooo delicious! It's three small crab cakes stuffed with a generous amount of seafood and topped with crawfish lemon butter. For the entree, I hade a side salad, the golden tile fish with the Babin's Mixed Grill and it was absolutely delectable! My husband had the flounder fish stuffed with seafood stuffing, grilled asparagus, and white rice. His food was heavenly divine! Yes I stuck my fork in his food and tasted it! I couldn't help myself! They deboned the fish at the table in front of us and guys you should have saw the thickness of the fish meat gliding off of the bone so effortlessly. It was plentiful with meat. My husband could not eat it all because it made him so full. Drinks: I had a frozen Margarita with an extra shot of Reposado tequila and it was very tasty and strong! You can actually taste the liquor in the Margarita. My husband ordered a Blue Moon orange flavored ice cold beer. He said that it was very good, nice, & cold just the way he likes it. The waiter brought an ice cold frost covered mug to the table and poured the cold beer into the frosty mug in front of my husband. Yeah our waiter was very professional! Rating: I gave this establishment five stars based on great customer service, friendly staff, cleanliness, professional waiters, the relaxing ambience, and deliciously mouth watering, melt in your mouth like butter, and delectably divine creole cuisine! I will definitely be going back! Side note: This establishment is extremely spacious which is great for large families, company parties, and other large gatherings.

We liked the lunch menu offering of half a po-boy with a cup of bisque or gumbo. Our server, Michael McCain was friendly, helpful and very attentive. Babin's is one of our favorite restaurants.

Our fish was overcooked to the point it was rubbery, my potato was dry and overcooked as well. The waiter had a serious argumentative attitude.

If you do not like imported crawfish do not order anything with crawfish on the menu. I ordered the crawfish queso and when I tasted the fried crawfish I immediately knew that was imported. I am from Louisiana and I knew that was not crawfish from Louisiana. When I told the waitress to take it back she admitted it was Imported. Please let your customers know they eating Imported seafood.

Excellent service with great food! Had to ask if air condition could be told off in my area . Temperature was quickly adjusted!!! I have no complaints with this restaurant. Will return soon!

They've really done a great job decorating this place! It truly feels like you've stepped onto Bourbon Street immediately when you walked through the doors. I only went for happy hour, so I cannot comment on food for this visit. I will return to try some menu items soon. I definitely liked the energy, the service and the happy hour drink prices. Happy hour is until 7 PM weekdays.

Jeff a manager reached out to me and apologized and offered a comp meal to make up for our bad experiences. He gave me his cell number and told me to reach out to him when we wanted to give Babins another chance and he thanked me for the opportunity. I reached out to Jeff today and we made a reservation for 6:30. We were greeted by Matt the restaurant manager and were seated promptly. Our waiter Mike did an excellent job of making us feel comfortable and welcome. The service was awesome. Matt came by and checked on us as well. The food was good and the experience was a 180 from our previous visit I want to thank Jeff for caring and reaching out to a disgruntled customer. I would also like to thank Matt and Mike for the awesome service.

First time trying this place. Went here for an anniversary and the food was great! We had crawfish etouffee and bourbon pasta and both were 10/10. There was a 35 min wait time for table of two on a Saturday night. My experience with the bar staff was horrible and uncanny. Very hostile men. Want to be nice but can be overly uptight and rude. Made me not want to visit again. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. My silverware was dirty with stuck food on it. Very disgusting. I had to ask for a new set. Overall experience 2.5/5.

I think at 57 years of age this is my 2nd YELP review. Food was great as usual. Sat at the bar, original female waitress was great. Male waiter noticed I guess his regulars had showed up and there was only one seat available. He promptly started rushing my husband and I out to make sure we gave up our seating as quickly as possible. Needles to say we are not happy campers.We had been seated at the bar about 30-40 minutes, had already planned to dine, have a few drinks and then head home to watch the Astros. So we did not need to be rushed so rudely. Very disappointed with what just took place, and yes, I am a Landry's Club Member.

Babin's is a must for our dining experiences. The food is consistently good and serves is excellent. We ask for Trevor as our server and she always exceeds our expectations.

The food was not seasoned enough. It was to the point I had to add more to it when I took it home . I thought the Louisiana season would be ideal but it was a flop. Not real New Orleans food .

The service was NOT amazing but it wasn't horrible either. Waitress sounded a bit short of words and pressed for time deal6with my table, and very chatty with others. The food was okay to good. Gumbo had a spiciness, but it's all in the roux, remove the meat and add to rice for kids to enjoy if they dont care for spicy, like my young guy. This is a Landrys select club, so rack up your points.

We love the calamari at this location and the servers are always super friendly. Yeah, on speaker is lively and I love the family vibe ....

This is NOT safe for people with gluten issues. We had a team lunch, there, today. I called ahead (no GF menu online), last week, to be sure that it would be safe. They assured me that although they don't have a GF menu, they could easily accommodate me. I notified the server of my issue. She ruled out some items (e.g., dirty rice) and recommended other sides. I went with her suggestions. Easy peasy. Well, we had a dozen people... and I wasn't able to eat any of the appetizers. So, I was glad when my entree arrived, first. Alas, the topping was on the side because it contained gluten (???) and devoid of sides (they also had gluten). Twenty minutes later, with a small portion of cold fish, I got butter and lemon. This is not enough food for any normal adult. Around that same time, my colleague across from me got his meal. The server was polite... and tried to serve me (after I finished the fish) my other side (coleslaw). She said, "I looked at the ingredients and it should be fine. I asked to see the list. It was not fine (not GF). Look... I'm grateful that I avoided being deathly ill for 1-3 weeks. I'm glad that someone in the kitchen realized that their food was not GF. But I'm also REALLY p1ssed off -- I wanted a low-drama, carefree experience. Instead, I had to wait about 3.5 hours after I arrived at their restaurant to have an actual meal. I don't "get" how a place can be this clueless about food allergies as we enter 2023. Do not trust these people -- it was by luck and mistrust that I avoided some very real and long-term suffering. The whole experience -- for me and my colleagues -- was "less than positive."

My work colleagues love this place and insist on going several times each visit. Idk why. Do like the KJ Chardonnay but other than that, I pick on this or that just to be social. The desserts are awesome here. Other colleagues opt out of the Babin's night bc of diet concerns but Babin's is Babin's for its niche.

Last time we came I left my phone home so I couldn't capture all the goodness. The only thing we didn't get this time was the seafood platter. The green beans are so good and flavorful. The shrimp in the fried are butterflied and seasoned perfectly. Now the heavy favorite with my crew is the Cajun Pasta. Now for me I need a dash of salt and pepper. Now, DON't GET ME WRONG! The wine sauce that the noodles are tossed in is amazing. Its just bland to me. When I asked the table if they needed salt and pepper for their's and the response was "for what". The courtesy bread we received is always good. We ended up with 2 rolls of bread and as you can see there was a pasta sandwich involved at one point. This is our second trip of many I'm sure. Our waitress Veronica was sweet and just the kind of waitress you want to encounter.

I've reviewed this restaurant before but not in awhile. We always sit at the bar, so always awesome service. They have a great happy hour with not only great drink specials but also food. Peel and eat shrimp, coconut shrimp, to name a few. Always fresh caught fish-there is a large list of what they have available, cooked like you want. Our fave side (pictured below) is the loaded sweet potato. It's like a dessert! Sooooo melt in your mouth delicious. And also pictured is the small (large is huge!) serving of the best bread pudding I've ever put in my mouth! (And I've tried plenty, including several fancy restaurants in Houston and New Orleans and Baton Rouge). Babins always has fresh fish and sides. Check it out! But don't sit at the bar. That way we have a seat when we go

We tried to order to-go this evening on the phone, as we were ordering from the blackboard. We are Landry's club members. I had to call 8 times. The 8th time, my call was finally answered. (The first 7 times, the phone would ring and after several minutes of ringing, the line would disconnect). After finally answering, I was transferred to the to-go order server. So then I was on hold for more than 15 minutes. I finally gave up and hung up. We ordered from another fish restaurant in the area. Babies needs to correct their system please.

Hey Yelpers.... Its your good ole Bobby J here for another review. So this is not going to be so wordy like the last. I've had a few drinks, but I did want to point out a few things about Babin's Seafood oysters and bartender Kristine and gm. Oysters: so coming from the gm at least. If you want a specific size of oyster, make sure you ask for it. Example, if you want all large you need to tell them. ....... Think about it... Think about it.... What tha f$#@%. I have never heard that in my entire life. Lmao. You got to be joking me... Enough on that. Well the oysters was small and a good size. Reminder to self, be specific when ordering oysters. Ok so, let's get to the bartender Kristine. Super nice when she slows down to talk. She'd ask, "How was the meal?", then took off before I could reply. Must be real busy with the 11 people at the bar. Sorry for the 2 stars Babin's, but I've tried yall about 11 times in my whole life. That was ten times too many. I keep getting the same service. I'll have to say the best seafood place out of Katy is not Babin's. Ps... The Crown was pretty good. For a 10 buck drink. Yelpers on Ih10 headed east and west. KEEP ON DRIVING PAST BABIN'S. This is place is a seafood heaven, all type of seafood in Cajun style. The food portions are huge and we had to take half of it home, the calamari picture is what was left after eating most of it. We really loved the taste, the decor and the service was fast taking into considerable that we went on Saturday's evening. The only thing, as a fluent French speaker who studied French for 15 years I know that their napkins slogan is wrong it should not be "rouler" it should be "roulent".

Last night on January 7 we had over 50 people for a birthday celebration for my brother, my sister and my uncle. We had amazing hostess that waited on us. The names was Jocelyn Valdez , Kristin Alardih and Jennifer Mccullah and their manager Vangil. The food was amazing. Everything was on time. These young ladies never sweat on the pressure they did such a wonderful job. The Louisiana Caesar salad was so good! The pasta was great! And my man's stuffed fish and sweet potatoes was the icing on the cake! And MONICA was great! Super nice and professional!

Friendly and quick service, appetizers were on point and all entrees were delicious. Their zydeco tea was refreshing. Must try the stuffed flounder!

Service was good but food was below average for a Landry's restaurant. Wouldn't come back.

Had not been to Babins in a long time. Building is still the same at the Katy location. I had the Golden Tile blackened fish. One of the fish I like, it has a similar taste to crab/lobster in my opinion. I get it when I don't want snapper,halibut, or flounder. It was really tasty . Service was good also. Would go back. Had dirty rice ,coleslaw, and fried okra. Good stuff

Lots of food lots of flavor. Easy access off I10. Try the gumbo very delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations.

One of my son's favorite seafood restaurants, family friendly, service is always excellent , food is great and big portions. I had the etouffee, my favorite, my husband had the Tile fish cook Louisiana style (you can pick the fish you want and the way you want it cooked) and my son had the sample seafood plater. And to finish the bourbon sauce bread pudding my favorite.

Yeah, two expensive for the service and food quality. Our server was very aggressive about doing his job and making it happen. He seemed to chill out near the end. I got crawfish 1/2 and 1/2. Crawfish were breaded somewhere else. Crawfish étouffée was not made in house. I guessing dirty rice came from some place else. For the price not much bang for the buck.
