"Bé Bếp is a New York City-based pop-up that “celebrates the diversity of Vietnamese cuisine.” It will arrive in Oakland, with a menu that includes dishes such as scallop crudo and lobster mushroom noodles. It will be featured at Ramen Shop on Thursday, November 16 from 5 to 6 p.m." - Lauren Saria

"This fashionable Hong Kong style cafe has the kind of long, eclectic menu that’s typical of this restaurant genre, with traditional dishes like steamed rice rolls and Hainan chicken rice supplemented by unique offerings, like the crispy, stew-filled “rice cubes.” (The restaurant also has an Emeryville location, which is currently closed.)" - Luke Tsai

Got their 3 entree set takeout. Solid food, better than shooting star. Comes with 2 free lemon ice tea too but beware they do charge extra $2.50 if you get this set togo instead of eat-in ($2 for takeout, $0.50 for bag) so the set total is $51 after tax for togo. Pretty good portions though and the iced lemon tea taste good

Been here a couple of times. The food and service is above average. The booths can be a bit uncomfortable. The servers need to check on clients' water more often. If you have any food allergies make sure you ask them what's in their cooking. And make sure they understand you. You could encounter a language barrier in Chinatown. Their menu does not list the ingredients. You could be getting red meat and seafood in the same dish.

I don’t understand the bad reviews. This place is really good. Service was nice too. Food came out super fast. They have very good tea. This may be my new regular spot.

I like these kinds of places. Food hits the spot. 2024 update: the food in this cafe still rocks. My fried fish curry rice was excellent and I look forward to going back.

Tried both afternoon tea selections and dinner selections. All of our dishes were quite good. A great place to go for Hong Kong style Chinese food.

Came here just for tea drinks before the lunch rush. I definitely enjoyed the experience. Drinks come with great presentation in fun glassware. Excited to try the food and the various desserts upon return!

I am familiar with Baby Cafe, but I did not visit the restaurant yesterday afternoon. Two of my siblings and I were next door at Oakland Florist to select a funeral floral arrangement for a loved one who passed away recently. However, I had dined there in the past, as in over five years ago. The food was very good and the service was great at that time. As I recall, their menu was quite extensive. Drawback: street parking can be problematic. A public garage is about a block away in the 10 hundred block of Webster Street. (Pacific Renaissance Building)

Pretty fast and clean and food was delicious— remit adjust sweetness level for drinks or may be too sweet
