Best New Bars in NYC: June 2025 | Eater NY

"David Wilson and Zoe Clifton met years ago while working together in Cosme’s kitchen. Now, they’ve opened the mint-green Babysips, the next hot Lower East Side natural wine bar with a small plates menu that pulls from their global travels. The tagline here is a “working glass wine bar,” the kind of place where you might spot folks from the wine industry actually hanging out." - Emma Orlow

A Perfect Start to Our Anniversary Celebration! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Last night, our daughter introduced us to Baby Sips on the Lower East Side before we head off to Milos for our 40th wedding anniversary trip—and what an absolute treat it was! This cozy restaurant and bar is a true gem. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming owners who clearly pour their hearts into the place. The menu is small but thoughtful, with dishes that are seasonal and ever-changing—giving us every reason to return and try more! Every bite we had was exceptional, but the mini tuna melt stole the show—absolutely to die for! The wine recommendation was spot on: light, refreshing, and paired beautifully with the food. Thank you, Baby Sips, for such a special evening. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

If you like yummy wine and light bar bites you should go to BabySips :) Stopped in on our way through the lower east side - we will be back! The octopus salad was super fresh, perfectly cooked and zesty.

BabySips the newest natural wine bar just opened and we are obsessed. Hidden gem in the lower east side. Atmosphere is chill. Definitely a date night spot at times. Other times it’s a local hangout for lovers of natural wines small bites are perfect and thoughtful. Once a pop-up we are thrilled that BabySips has found a home on a quiet street full of what I can only explain as a feeling of community and good times. The natural wine selection is eclectic and fun. Wines from regions you perhaps never had before. Bangers from winemakers that fly under the radar. My perfect combo. Will definitely come back.

Babysips, and I think by their own admission, is a fairly modest space. It's warm & inviting but certainly not splashy. But their minimalism is more than compensated for by the warmth & hospitality of the owners, David & Zoe. We popped in one night fairly close to closing. They presented us with their concise but carefully curated menu. David inquired into our taste preferences & poured a delicious glass for us both. The food menu looks very clever & intriguing. Their wine menu is tempting with a myriad of profiles. Zoe explained to us their contacts with wine producers in Europe. It is an extremely friendly bar. We chatted with other patrons. They shared their wine with us. It appears that they have a lot of regulars. BabySips is going on our list of regular stops during our visits to NYC. They will provide you with a very pleasant evening of consuming new wine discoveries & intimate conversation.

I've been living in New York City for 8 years now and have tried every wine bar under the sun. This natural wine bar is the best I've been to so far. David & Zoey's energy, knowledge and love of wine is contagious. New favorite spot!
