Went out for my wife and I’s anniversary. This was our first time having a tasting menu like this. Ibraham was our server, and he could not have been more incredible. In the middle of our dinner, he got assigned a very large table outside, but that didn’t slow him down in the slightest. He was very knowledgeable and made fantastic recommendations for wine pairings with our meal. The food was absolutely amazing! I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of our final course before dessert, but it was just as great as everything else. And the dessert…..coming from a Latin American household, I can confidently say that was the best tres leches my wife and I have ever had. I truly have nothing negative to say about any bit of our experience tonight. I would absolutely love to come back!

We went here for our anniversary! I wanted to love it, but there were some key occurrences that caused our experience to be less than favorable. Overall the food was pretty good, but I don’t think it’s worth the price. There was no bite that I will be “day dreaming about”. There was a lot, but here are a few key missed: 1) the service was slow. we waited over an hour for our main courses. 2) they messed up on my order and served me pork, which I do not eat. While ordering the server assured me that he was “take care of it” and ensure the replacement for the pork would be excellent, only to wait and have my dish come out wrong. This caused us to wait even longer. 3) the environment was loud as they sat us next to the bar. There was also a time when the fire alarms were going off and the staff looked confused as to what they should do. No one spoke to us about this. The food was tasty overall, but too expensive for what it was. The team tried to do service recovery and gave us a free desert, but it didn’t make up for the overall experience.

Bacan has many good dishes with dynamic flavor palettes. The sauces which accompany the dishes dont just embellish, but they actually add flavor and improve the dish. Out of most of dishes I had (not all are pictured), there was little do dislike. Price point is a little high at $225pp ( this is roughly what was spend after tip etc). Decour and layout really needs help. It has the feel of a glorified hotel cafeteria thus ruining the price point even further. Server was very kind and knowledgeable. If it wasnt for our server making suggestions this couldve easily fallen to a 3 star establishment. Most of the food itself does deserve the michelin recomendation. While its a little bit aways from a star, i believe offering a prix fixe chefs table dining experience, and improving the decour (make it feel more saturated and less cafeteria/open) could earn this place a star down the road. If they keep doing what they're doing my prediction is they will maintain or lose their recommendation at best. Would I come back? No. Unless they earn a star there would be no reason to come back - the food is good but you can get similar for half the price. For the time being its "BYEcan"

First visit to Bacan and enjoyed exceptional service and hospitality while enjoying hearty portions of great food. Food was prepared with attention to detail...balanced and correct temperature. Octopus was succulent and crisp. Hamaci was a perfect bite. Add the mushrooms with the steak...Amazing!!! Desserts are not overly sweet, but balanced and sized for two. Will definitely make a return trip!

Really nice chef's experience. Its no wonder they have been suggested for a michelin star. Our waiter was really enthusiastic and helpful throughout our experience. Helping with amazing wine pairings and suggestions with our dishes. Every single bite was so rich in flavor, and so unique. The star of the show was probably the yellow tail snapper with mofongo curry. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. We had an issue with our duck dish (over cokled and dry), and after speaking with the chef he even sent us a new dish as an apology for the mix up. This was a lobster and rice dish with caviar. The steak was a miss, unfortunately. Little too tough for either one of our liking. Otherwise, a really great evening with delicious food! Highly recommend giving them a try.

The Vibes, atmosphere just get you attention right away. The food was absolutely incredible! Every plate smelled and looked amazing. The service was absolutely great they made us feel at home and part of the Familia. When they herd me talking Spanish to my parents they immediately made my dad and mom feel comfortable and spoke Spanish the rest of the night. Every plate was described with what was in it which made my dad feel at ease. The BEST plates of the night was THE SHORT RIBS and for the starters the OCTOPUS and the SMOKED PORK BELLY AL PASTOR! The only complain of the night was the Price seem just a bit too high that way that 4 stars not 5. Other then that we absolutely love it!

Bacan is located on the ground floor of the Lake Nona Wave Hotel. The ambience is contemporary and makes for a pleasant dinner setting. We ordered a few appetizers and one main course to share: • Agave Oat Brioche – warm and enjoyable. • Hamachi – the sashimi paired nicely with the caviar. • Charred Octopus – tender and well-cooked. • Pork Belly Al Pastor – visually appealing, but the meat was dry; not recommended. For the main course: • Short Rib with Saltado Sauce – complemented by Pommes Anna, which were a highlight: crisp on the outside, tender inside, and paired beautifully with the short rib. Service was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Overall, while the meal was decent, no single dish was exceptional.

Memorable for sure! My wife and I had such an experience! We had the most impressive story teller of a server( Jay) .Made our mouths water after hearing each incredible description, and painted a picture of history and allure with every bottle of wine… as the pics show, we fell weak, lol!!! Every single bite melted in your mouth. Every flavor bursting on your taste buds! The chef ( Cory) even came to the table to see how everything tasted, and to offer his descriptions of …. Yet MORE dishes that we had not tried…. And, well…. Try, we did! And we were most certainly not let down! 10 out of 10! Thank me later!!!

Pleasantly surprised. Chose the restaurant off the magical dining website, didn't know what to expect. The vibes were immaculate, the food was delicious and filling, and it made for the perfect date night spot. I started with the hamachi, which was so flavorful and unique, followed by the Florida snapper for my entrée, perfectly tangy and hearty. For dessert, I had a rich chocolate brownie with hints of cardamom and pistachio that tied everything together beautifully. I'd definitely return to this restaurant!

My husband and I recently dined at Bacan and we had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant itself has a great vibe, boasting beautiful hanging light fixtures throughout. Both the host and our waitress were friendly and welcoming, setting the tone for our evening. I ordered an amaretto sour, which turned out to be the best one I've ever had, and the gnudi for my entree, which I enjoyed overall though I do wish it had been just a tad bit more flavorful (nothing a little salt couldn't handle). Hubby had the carne asada with a side of truffle potatoes, both which he enjoyed very much. The reasons why I'm not giving Bacan five stars is due to their limited vegetarian/vegan options (especially in this day and age) and because some items (I'm looking at you, carne asada) are overpriced for what they are. Let me be clear that my husband enjoyed is carne asada, there's no question about that. It's just that it didn't quite match it's price.

Magical Dining was nice here, but definitely not worth what I paid. My expectations were high and I simply wasn't wowed. The interior is gorgeous, though. The decor in the hotel as you walk to the restaurant's entrance is also really cool. Took a lovely picture with my gals on the lit staircase. I will say the portions were decent. Everything tasted very good, but again not to the level I was hoping for, as in OMG this is amazing! The charred octopus was probably my favorite. With the smoked feta it was scrumptious. My friends did not like the churros, but I thought they were fine. The citrus tres leches was satisfactory, yet not super memorable. Our server was pleasant, but I was underwhelmed in that area as well. Our dishes arrived to the table in good timing with the exception of dessert. There was a significant gap as we waited for it, perhaps due to a large party arriving within that time. If I'm going higher end, then I expect the experience to be perfection which was not the case.

The restaurant was truly incredible. The ambience and lighting were soft and inviting and the decor felt elegant from the moment we walked in. The vibe was flawless and my friends and I enjoyed every moment of our dinner. Each dish arrived beautifully plated by the Chef. I ordered the snapper and expected a whole fish, but it arrived as a delicate fillet that gave the entire meal a gourmet touch. The cream and sauce paired with it took the flavor to another level. We added the shareable potatoes which were delicious and my friend ordered the ribs and could not stop talking about how good they were. We skipped dessert but our waitress surprised us with champagne to close out our celebration and it was such a thoughtful touch. I will absolutely return.

Who would say no to $60.00 for a three course meal at a Michelin recommended restaurant. Certainly not I, and certainly not when I'm treating a friend for her belated celebratory Birthday meal during Orlando's Magical Dining Month. Bacan, meaning cool or awesome in Spanish, definitely lived up to the hype. Upon entering the contemporary and stylish Lake Nona Wave Hotel and upon making our way to our table at the far end of the restaurant, you're surrounded by eclectic art, design, and architecture. Everywhere you look there is something to behold. And that beautiful presentation extended itself to our evening meal. But an eventual five star meal not only includes what is served but also the service one gets at such an establishment. To the end, our server, Jay blew it out of the park! Having a waitperson who knows every ingredient in every dish and how it is prepared and who has a personality that engages and educates you is a golden unicorn in the server world. Kudos to the management and chef of Bacan for having such a star on your roster! But of course to the food...and drink. The Birthday girl had a glass of PInot Noir and I had a Basil Tai Cocktail which was a variation on the classic Mai Tai served with a blended rum and basil. So refreshing! Then came an incredible Amuse Bouche of Aji Amarillo (Peruvian Peppers) and Octopus, With this starter I knew this was the first stop on a magnificent culinary journey. Soon after, appetizers of Hamachi (Yellowtail Tuna) and Charred Octopus arrived. Marvelous! We both upgraded our entrees with my guest having a Filet and Ribeye for moi. Paired with sides of Truffle Potatoes and Sherry Mushrooms the taste sensation was phenomenal! Finally, we ended with a Citrus Tres Leches and a Cafe En La Niebla (Dominican Chocolate Brownie) for desserts. Spectacular! Bacan is undoubtedly one the best restaurants in Central Florida and our meal with upgrades came out much more than $60.00 per person but, hey...as Pitbull would say..."Dale"...just go ahead and do it...you won't be disappointed!

The food here was pretty good, but I agree with a review I saw before going that the food was pretentious for pretentious sake. The drinks were decent, but some of us ordered the same drinks and they looked completely different. Our server didn't seem to know either way and unfortunately it seems the drinks are made at the hotel bar, so there's no way to know. My favorite item of the night was the lobster tostada (so good!). The tequenos were also pretty yummy. The carne asada was good but nothing where I felt this is amazing. Our friends ordered the bread which was yummy but expensive for bread. They also got the octopus and tuna tacos, which they seemed to enjoy. The desserts were probably the least exciting of the night. The citrus tres leches was good, but tasted like a trix cereal cake. Two people ordered the cafe en la niebla and both really disliked it. This was weird because it sounded like a brownie dessert but ended up being like a dippin dots dish, that tasted more like tiramisu. Definitely a flop. Would I return? Truthfully probably not. Maybe to do the multi-course experience but we weren't wowed, there weren't many entrees that I would eat, and the prices are very high.

I don't know what took me so long to go to Bacan, but I'm glad I finally did! Located in the wave hotel, the aesthetic is very modern with a tropical feel. Expect 5 star service! Our waiter was super knowledgeable and had great suggestions. Do not leave this restaurant without ordering the the tuna 'tacos'. They were small but I could have eaten 10 of them, they are so delicious. The crunch of the jicama balanced the tuna perfectly. I ordered a cocobolo old fashioned, which was such a nice twist old fashioned with a hint of banana. My entree was the snapper dish and I would 100% order it again and again. I will definitely be back!

I'm so glad I decided to give this place another try! The food during first visit wasn't great, and I honestly hadn't planned on coming back. Had I not returned, I would've missed out on the best octopus I've ever had in my life. The smoky feta perfectly complemented the charred octopus and the chimichurri and aji amarillo were *chef's kiss*. The truffle chicken was a huge portion and absolutely delicious. Between that and our three appetizers, we didn't even touch our other entrée (the curry fish). Our server was fantastic and even surprised us with complimentary glasses of champagne to end the meal. Bacán is located within the Wave hotel, which is truly an experience within itself.

They call this place "Michelin recommended" but it definitely fell flat for me and expected a lot more. The venue is in a nice artsy spot with lots of photo ops. Very well designed hotel with trendy restaurants Had the El Dorado and the Havana Habana cocktails but with added spirits in it. They weren't that great. Tequenõs were ok but thick batter and very fried. Not too into fried foods anymore but that was the best looking option. Got the Florida snapper but didn't think it was going to be fried and was hoping for a grilled or blackened option like other Florida places. The skin was attached and not at all crispy. A bit soggy sad fried whatever dish. Would have been better if they took the skin off and fried it separately and put back on top for an extra crispy skin texture. Also tried the truffle chicken and it was the worst I've had. Not that truffley and quite small comparing to others I've had. They give complimentary little cookies at the end that was good enough because their desserts didn't look like much The server was great and the reason giving this place a 2 vs a 1 star review. I did give her my same critique as I have on this review on the food so she could let the chefs know the food was not up to par

The restaurant is in the hotel there is a parking garage with free parking. The atmosphere inside the hotel is electric. Live music, cool decorations, all well done. The restaurant is towards the back right. Immediately sat with our reservation in a great booth. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and an open kitchen concept. The server was knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. He was attentive and had a good personality which added to our experience. We ordered from the Magical Dining menu and all of the items were delicious. From appetizer, entree, and dessert we could not have asked for a better night.

Have been eyeing Bacan for a while and decided to go! Bold Latin flavors from start to finish, this meal was amazing. Tequenos - foie gras duck leg confit. Succinct but distinguishably reminds me of pizza rolls Grilled Octopus - Cooked to perfection with a beautiful char, served with vibrant sauces and a hint of citrus. The octopus was so tender yet still texturized. My favorite of the night Truffle Chicken - Truffle truffle TRUFFLE! Honestly one of the most solid choices. Florida Snapper - Honestly one of the more shocking dishes. The snapper was fried with a tasty curry that had tons of depth. Short Rib - Fall-apart tender, resting on a crispy potato base with creamy herbed sauce and thin daikon slices for contrast. Cafe En La Niebla - s'mores explosion. Indulgent with textures. Colada - A visually stunning dish that tasted just as great. The ambiance was modern and intimate, with warm lighting and attentive service. They had beautiful design and lighting. Prices reflect the fine dining, but the quality and presentation easily justify it. BACÁN is a standout in Orlando.

I was scrambling to get of the couch for NYE and go somewhere to enjoy an extravagant dining experience. Bacan popped up first in OpenTable and I took a shot. The Wave Hotel has a great reputation for creating memorable experiences so I reserved based on their NYE Prix-Fixe Experience. I had the early sitting which was a better option to get be back on the couch before the clock hit 12:00! We were seated promptly for our reservation. I'm glad that I reserved (with card) to ensure we had a spot for what seemed like a hectic night. Our Server was Jason M and he really set the tone for the evening. He engaged us with stories and walked down the menu with experience. Normally I don't like a lot of conversation but he was personable and let us order all of our Prix-Fixe options. He stated this was the best option as everything was prepared when ordered so this method was a better plan. Starting with a few drinks - the Basil Tai was a tropical libation with a hint of rum and coconut. Everything arrived on time and the entire wait staff worked as a team. This means that even if your server is busy, someone else is still attentive to your needs. Now with a Prix-Fixe agreement on NYE, the gratuity was already set but Jason went above and beyond so kudos to him and the team for making NYE special. Bacan is an experience that is worthy of the accolades that they have received. I probably can't afford a weekly dine here, but when I need Michelin dining this will be on the list. We enjoyed the ambiance in the space. Sophisticated and sexy with a Latin flair. Great job!

Came for magical dining and was super impressed! The ambience, service, and overall experience of dinner was amazing. The standout dish was the carne asada. Oh my goodness. Cooked to a medium rare perfection with the housemade chimichurri was all I needed. The citrus tres leches was a pass for me. The orange flavor didn't sit right on my palate and the texture of the topping was a bit stiff. My friend ordered the churros and the truffle oil was a bit overpowering. I would say their apps and entrees is where they excel here. I would definitely come back and try other entree options.

Food is good, not memorable. The dessert is delish. Waiters are attentive. Clean and good atmosphere

Delicious all the way this is my first time going to this restaurant after the opportunity was taking away from me last year. One of the most confusing meals of the butternut squash that you see in that small glass container. That was an extremely different taste on my pallet when I wanted to try after seeing him pass out. It was on the house. it was delicious. Our server was a gentleman from Puerto Rico. That was well traveled all around the globe so he knew his menu very well and sold it very very deliciously with his verbiage. My order was the moqueca and it was delicious, all the seasonings complemented each other well, and it was also light and airy! My friend had the snapper and that was delicious also!! The drink ingredients were all in house and made/crafted with love. They were amazing and I almost ordered 2 of them. The closing was the Autumn Tamal was decent, I wasn't necessarily in love with this with you for all the different factors, but I must say for trying something new. It was really good. I would say for sure that the service and food was the top best things on the menu here. Maybe for a bday I might come back. But great food and service!

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Bacan is one of my Top 5 favorite restaurants in Orlando. This was probably my 4th/5th time here and heads up they did change the menu. While I was sad the duck is no longer available, there were still strong offerings on the menu. Lobster tostadas were fresh and well cooked per usual. The tequenos are new but I didn't love them because the foie gras didn't come thru in it. The Crispy snapper was great. We are actually Guyanese and they did capture the flavor profile of one of our curry types. Branzino is an old faithful item. Ambience and service is always on point. Clau is amazing. She had taken care of us in a previous visit so it added to the vibe that she was a familiar and friendly face. Looking forward to another visit!

We went here for a special occasion and got the truffle chicken and it was divine. The service was very good as well, and the interior was very posh and cool. Overall a great experience, but will reserve going back for special occasions due to the high price point

Bacan is located in Lake Nona at the Wave Hotel. The restaurant is located on the first floor across from the bar. It's a very cute and intimate area with beautiful decor. I went on a solo date on Sunday and was surprised to see others sitting by themselves; so this place is great if you want to eat alone. I ordered the Agave Oat Brioche, Papas Chorreadas, and Carne Asada. The food is delicious!! My server Courtney was very nice as well at the other servers. I highly recommend this place for a date night. If you want a quiet dinner, I'd recommend going on a night during the weekday or Sunday. Friday and Saturday nights seem to be busy. They also have outdoor seating with a nice ambiance. Affordable for fine dining; $100+ per person.

Bacan is a gorgeous restaurant nestled inside The Wave hotel, but once you're been seated, you do not feel like you're in a hotel lobby. The atmosphere is very nice, the staff is very attentive, and the food is very good. I would grab a reservation, it was busy on the night that we went, but I'm not sure if that's a daily concern since we went on a Saturday night. We got drinks, which looked great, but honestly neither of them tasted that incredible - not sure if it was just our choices or the menu. But, we opted to not get others just in case. The food was definitely a different experience, thankfully. For appetizers, get the lobster burrata tostada, it is delectable. My only complaint is that it is not bigger, because I could have eaten double the amount that we were given. But, skip the octopus, not that its bad, but not as good as the tostada and I'll assume there are other options that taste better. I wanted to try the bread service, on my next trip, that will be an option. Do not skip out on the Short Rib - it is one of the best short rib meals I have ever had. The birria pushes the dish over the top, I would dip anything into that birria, if that tell you how great it was. It comes with arepas; mine were very very dry, but once they were added into the sauce they were enjoyable. We also had the venison, which was also quite good. But, nothing will beat the short ribs. Normally, I'm not a dessert person, but the banana option was quite good. Not very heavy, full of flavor, and a great way to end the evening.

Hubby and I grabbed a last minute reservation at Bacan on a Friday night for an impromptu date night. We expected it would be busy, so we checked in and went to the living room bar to grab a drink while we wait. The wait wasn't long and by the time we had drinks in hand, we were already being called to be seated. We were sat on the patio and had the most amazing team of servers. Our main server, (sorry, I forgot her name I waited to long to write this. But she had a blonde ponytail, she was fantastic) she helped guide us as a knowledgeable and experienced palate to what eat item tastes like. I was in a very indecisive mood so this helped me navigate the new menu. For appetizer I was between the pierogi and the croquette, and she recommended the croquettes as seen in the picture. I thoroughly enjoyed them as they were crunchy on the outside, soft and cheesy in the middle with salty bites of ham. Now that I know for a fact she is understanding my palate and preferences, I found myself again at a crossroads between the birria short ribs and the spiny lobster tail. Two very different directions. She pointed me to the birria short ribs as "Thee Best Item On The Menu", in her opinion, and so that's what I went with. Although I haven't had the entire menu, the tenderness of the short rib, the savory flavors of sauce and the Oaxaca queso filled arepa was just incredible. Each bite was melting in my mouth. Eventually, I'll circle back to the lobster, but that birria will stay on top of my mind. From now until early November, they also have a special experience called the Ozmopolitan. Our servers happily suggested we check it out. A live singer with Broadway show tunes and jazz melodies was singing, a photo op with a wand or a broom depending if you're a good witch or a bad witch and an outdoor specialty bar completes the experience with themed drinks. For a full service date night, get an early reservation and follow the yellow brick road to the Ozmopolitan before a house falls on you at 9pm when they close! (h

The restaurant is in the Wave hotel with free garage hotel parking . The restaurant is modern and chic. Our server was cheerful and gave us great advice with choosing our collection. The food was delicious. It's worth a visit

Came here for my anniversary dinner and loved the ambiance of this restaurant. The service was incredible and the food was so delicious. We got a honeydew mocktail and it was so good, thank you for a wonderful evening !

Super expensive! Overall, the food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. We went for my husband's birthday and I brought a homemade cake. We called in advance and they said "no problem" on bringing the cake but did not mention a cake-cutting fee. So when we receive the bill - $375 for TWO people - there was $8 for EACH PERSON added to the bill for them to cut the cake! A total of $48 to cut six slices of cake - wow! It kind of destroyed our experience to end the evening feeling like we were completely getting bent over. It was a great meal, but we didn't like feeling at the end so we probably won't be back.

I've been to Bacan a few times and it is always hit and miss with is surprising for a restaurant that is recognized by Michelin! On my most recent visit, I asked for my steak medium done. However, the chef, sous chef and sever didn't notice that it came to me bloody and blue! The service was very slow that night and by the time the server noticed, he was very apologetic and offered to make me another dish but my guests had already finished their dinners, so I left hungry beacuse i also received the wrong side and my octopus appetizer wwas fishy tasting, so I probably won't be back.

All three of my experiences at Bacán have been 5/5 stars. The dining room is beautiful and elegant, but I have to say on nice nights the outdoor seating is a contender as well. They have a few interactive and table side experiences, like their smoked old fashioned, which really brings the service above and beyond. I would definitely recommend Bacán for celebrations as it is easy to spend money but all very worth it.

Came here for magical dining for the first time and tried the Bread service Pork belly Skirt steak Filet mignon Tres leches La morada El dorado Bacan elazo Everything was good! My server Kendyl was awesome and always checking to see if I needed anything and I took all her recommendations of what to eat or drink tonight! Definitely check out this place when you visit the wave hotel in lake nona!

Definitely will return. It's inside the hotel Wave. High ceiling industrial indoor and Amazon outdoor, and the earthy tableware. A slow night on a Thursday at 6pm, then by the time we leave at 7:45, it filled out mostly. Guess I'll never survive in Europe and elsewhere. Love their decor, service and food. The front desk shown me to the corner table, saying that this is her favorite. Mine too, thanks sweetie. The food is pretty phenomenal: Scallops Bronzino (not bone in ... I know I know ...) Short ribs - very soft Even the coffee smell extra fragrant -:) It's just a wonderful night on a wonderful night.

The food was good but nothing crazy. Within the same location you can go to Nami and get much better food and better service. We waited long between meals to be asked if we needed anything. So when we ordered the dessert we asked for the check with it and even then had to wait quite some time after we were done. Not sure if it's because we sat outside or they were short staffed. I don't think I'd necessarily recommend this to my friends. The gentleman who packed up our left overs was very sweet and kind we liked him a lot.

Here is my magical dining experience: I made reservations well in advance and provided my credit card details as requested. Despite arriving a few minutes early, we were not seated until nearly 50 minutes later. This delay was completely unacceptable, especially given the reputation of this restaurant. We were eventually compensated with champagne, but the frustration lingered. We were so hungry and tried to order bread service, and they ran out of bread by the time we were seated. Had we gotten our allotted time we could've had bread and not starve until we actually were seated then subsequently got our food. The server did an excellent job and was very attentive, but I am deeply disappointed with the seating process. It's disheartening to see unexpected parties prioritized over those who reserved, particularly in a restaurant with such high regard. For a place striving to meet Michelin standards, this level of service falls short. The food was good and presented pretty well, but in comparison to other restaurants with the same price tag, I've had better. I'm still open to trying Bacan again after magical dining month, with expectations that the reservation process will be a lot better and the food quality not so diluted.

My second time here and it was overall a much better experience. First time going was when they first opened so I think they were still working out the kinks. Service was great, food was excellent, and the whole restaurant vibe is very cool. Everything we tried this time was very very good except the bison main course. It was tough and chewy. The waiter took notice that we didn't lick the plate clean like every other item we tried and asked us about it. We were honest but said we didn't need to be comped just wanted to let the kitchen know because everything else was so good. He brought out two desserts on the house anyway.

Let's start with the service: it was annoying. Our server, Joe, was well informed about the menu and made suggestions, but bottom line, he was obnoxious. Why, because he became way too familiar in his demeanor than any waiter at a restaurant like this should have been. A group of 6, 4 of whom were Puerto Rican, he continued to refer to everyone at the table as "mi familia", which was, by my assessment, way too informal and disrespectful. While I doubt he intended to be disrespectful, that was how he came across. Additionally, he described some of the dishes as if the 4 Puerto Ricans at the table had never heard of them before, which wasn't, obviously, the case. Also, he seemed to be upselling the dishes to order, emphasizing the size of the portions (yes, he was correct - other than the entrees, everything else was small. And to the ambiance, it is an extremely attractive restaurant, well lit and designed and decorated. On a Saturday night with a 6:15 reservation, it was packed by 7:15 and very noisy. Clearly the majority of the diners were dressed to impress and it was also evident many were on dates. Food, which is the most important to review, was mixed. We started with a negative experience. All of the "starters", otherwise known as appetizers, were minuscule in size and were served barely warm to cold. Whether it was a problem with the kitchen or the food was sitting too long, I don't know. And did I say the portion size was small? And it was especially for their pricing. The biggest insult was the pork belly. At $22, it was a rip-off. When I mentioned to two of the several managerial staff who passed by the table and asked how everything was, that the starters weee cold or barely warm, the response was "I'll let the kitchen k ow and we will make sure your main dishes are hot." Considering that these dishes amounted to close to $175, adjusting how much we were charged, or offering one free dessert, would have been appropriate. Oh, let me not forget the bread service - while tasty, it was also a rip off. Our main dishes did come out hot. My whole local snapper was well prepared but smothered in some type of curry sauce. It drew the attention of my tongue and taste buds away from the fish to that sauce. The dish was barely eatable and I left half uneaten. The bronzino was excellent. The pork chop was also well prepared, as was the short ribs. Again, over-priced. The desserts were excellent, although minuscule in size. We ordered a nice Sauvignon blanc labeled with name of the operating company which runs the hotel and also is the developer of The Wave Hotel and many of the other projects which make up the Lake Nona Land Development company. The waiters recommendations of wines were all priced above $100 a bottle. Would I return or recommend BACAN?, Based on that dinner, a hard NO. The impression of my husband and I was that this was a restaurant appealing to the large local Puerto Rican community of folks who want to go to a "fancy local restaurant" with a vibe of "Chichi". The performance of the waiter and the kitchen did not come anywhere near that vibe. Our check with one bottle of inexpensive wine and one liquor drink was ~$650 with a mandated 20% tip. A waste of money.

The service at this establishment is top-notch. You were feel taken cared of and we had such a fun and amazing time with our server. He explained each dish with exquisite detail and helped make great recommendations. I loved the zero proof drink option we got, the Bacan-Elazo! The cinnamon was perfectly strong and offset the sour passionfruit. Our favorite bites of the night were definitely the Charred Octopus and Truffle Chicken. I've never had a more tender octopus and the flavors complimented the dish so well. The truffle mousse they put in between the meat of the chicken and skin is what really sets this dish apart. The Tequenos tasted like a glorified pizza roll, which there's nothing wrong with that, but we may opt for another appetizer next time. We chose 2 dessert options and would really recommend the Cafe En La Niebla! It's rich and chocolatey, but with so many different textures that makes every bite so interesting. The vibes of the restaurant were immaculate and overall, we just had an unforgettable experience! We'll definitely be back when our wallets recover!

I'm trying really hard to believe that I was disappointed more than the food wasn't good...but wow... Everything on the new menu was worse than the stuff before. The bread was meh but the chipotle butter was insanely hot and made no sense to me with the bread...I put hot sauce on everything...but not bread... And the pork belly was HORRENDOUSLY worse than before. I'm sure it was still good, but the Al pastor was legitimately the best pork belly I've ever had and one of the best things period and now the adobo one is fine... I'm trying really hard to focus on being disappointed more than believing the food is meh or worse...but I'm still really struggling. The snapper was good, I don't know if that was on the old menu, but the curry sauce with it was awesome...that and the amuse bouche (squash shot that was sort of like a warm not sweet pumpkin pie soup) were the highlights (and only highlights). And the bison is coming off the menu soon which is GREAT for all of you. It was seasoned fine...but even at medium (the waiters rec) it was tough and nothing great (but, like the joke about the old ladies...there was a lot of it!) Had I have never been here I think I would have given it 2 or 3 stars, but I'm really trying to give credit to the last two times (and old menu) that we had because I cannot believe I dropped $500 for dinner and had a meal that made me wish we would have eaten at Texas Roadhouse...for better bread and a less tough piece of meat...

What's a wonderful intimate place. Food was delicious and what you should expect from a Michelin Star chef. Perfect setting and ambiance for a date. Service was amazing, attentive, Knowledgable of the menu and pairings, and funny. Not a single dish disappointed my wife and I. We had the grilled octopus, the bread and butter, the lamb, the salmon, and delectable desserts. It is pricey but worth it. Will be going back.

Great service. Waitress was very attentive and gave recommendations. I went with the 3 course meal. Which was plentiful. I can see how this received Michelin star. Flavors were on point.

Amazing food, amazing service, loved the vibe!!! We decided on the tasting menu with premium wine pairing and it was the best choice. My favorite were tuna tacos and black cod with yucca. WOW!!

Ibrahim was amazing. Super polite and sweet. Very knowledgeable and professional. We had a blast and he made our evening special.

Cannot recommend Bacan enough! We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was incredible! First, the service - our server, Brad, was so kind and also guessed what we were planning to order because he was paying attention to our preferences and was just that good! The ambiance was beautiful - it was cozy, romantic and loved the view outside to the patio. Lastly, the food.... I'm still thinking about those lobster tostadas and the pan de bono as part of the bread service! I wasn't a huge fan of the entree which was a whole chicken cooked 2 different ways - fried and baked with truffle and potatoes. I would give that a 7/10 because the baked chicken was a little dry and dried chicken breast seems like an odd mistake for a restaurant of this caliber. Overall, we can't wait to come back and try some new dishes!

This is going to be the most honest review you can find. I came in late for my reservation, and they still seated me regardless. Gave my party full attention as if we were never late. For the price, this place is almost worth it. It's expensive and the food is really good, but not really great, ya get me? For what you pay these dishes should knock your socks off, but really they just untied my shoes. The plating is great. The dishes sound fun. The food was tasty, but some dishes were kind of... bland? They're smallish plates but still somehow SUPER filling to the point where we couldn't finish our main course? For $125 a person the food needs to be phenomenal. Cocktails as well were tasty, but didn't make me salivate. Although, the Don Juan was a fun twist on an Old Fashioned. And well, the venison was pretty good too. The parsnip puree that came with it, meh. I think the service and ambiance is what sets this place apart. Staff is uber friendly and accommodating. The space is so inviting and comfortable. If this place was $50 cheaper I would come here ALL the time. The food just needs some more attention. I truly admire and respect all of the staff and chefs for what they have created at Bacan, this is just my personal opinion.

Food was excellent. The server could not have been any better. We sat outside and the evening was perfect for an outdoor dinner. I will visit BACÁN the next time I visit the Orlando area.

I can see why Bacan is a Michelin rated restaurant. We went for the tasting menu which was delicious. Presentation was beautiful. The reason I could not give 5 stars was that it was not mind blowing for us however that should not deter others from trying!! You just have to try it for yourself!

The crispy shallots and Yuca give it texture and character it's not just a burger, it's a layered bite worth savoring. Another must-try: the truffle potatoes. Fragrant, crisp, and golden, they carry that earthy umami note that turns a humble side into a highlight. Service is smooth, pricing is fair for the quality, and the vibe works whether you're in business casual or dressed to turn heads. Vegan options are present, though the menu clearly leans more indulgent overall. Bonus points for flexible seating booths, tables, and a patio for catching some fresh air. BACÁN isn't trying to reinvent the wheel but it rolls with serious style and flavor.

Lake Nona has always been a growing community and this is one of the franchises that were brought up during the wave hotel building. I have been waiting for quite some time to visit this franchise. I've passed by it probably a dozen times when I make my way upstairs to its neighboring restaurant Havan. Really glad I decided to visit today because we beat the crowds with a reservation at 6pm. Loved the architecture inside and their whole idea and concept of the restaurant. South American/Mayan themed restaurant. I always love some culture and meanings behind foods, places , and overall presence. Tonight i ordered the heartbeat cocktail which was a sweet and fruity pomegranate drink paired with the short braised rib. Beautiful presentation and delicious, but I wasn't entirely a fan of the texture entirely , but the taste definitely made up for it. Every bite was soft , tender ,and tasty. The Arepa was a good pair to it, but I find that it was much saltier than I anticipated, could be the cheese, but dipping it into the braised rib broth/sauce made it better. Once again great spot and loved it for a a dinner outing. I hope to be back to try all their other amazing drinks and dishes!

The restaurant was located in the Wave Hotel and the aesthetics outside the establishment and inside were absolutely beautiful! There were so many great places to get a picture! There is a parking garage where you were able to park and also valet parking. My party and I were running late due to traffic and the staff at Bacan were very understanding and accommodating! Our server was very attentive and guided us through the menu because it was our first time. We were celebrating my friends birthday, and they made us feel welcomed and comfortable! We really appreciated that. The food came out hot and fresh! Overall, our experience was a 10 out of 10 and I cannot wait to come back!

We decided to check out this place for Magical Dining as we had never been. The hotel/restaurant itself looks very cool. The decor is fun and different. The dining experience itself was just okay. We made a reservation and it was kind of an odd interaction when checking in and was told we were going to have to wait with no indication of how long or how we would be notified. About 20 min went by and I received a text that the table was ready so I went back and the host seemed disoriented and we waited a few more minutes and he finally told us to follow him. Are servers were very kind, friendly and my cup never ran out of beverage. Very attentive. The food service was very slow. We were there about 2.5 hours for an app, meal and dessert. The pork belly was absolutely phenomenal and same with the tuna app. The skirt steak was okay and the dessert was good. Overall the initial interactions were not great and the food was nothing spectacular. I'm glad I got to experience it but I think it will be a one and done restaurant.

One of my favorite restaurants in central Florida! The service is impeccable and the food is really good. They also make a great Margarita. The ambiance is great and we really enjoy the short rib/branzino entree.

Amazing pre fixed menu experience. The flavors and taste were unmatched here. Highly recommend this place if you are in the Orlando area.

Crazy dessert chocolate sphere thing. Tasted great. Had a great date night with wifey. 3rd time here and we will be back.
