Where To Go When You Want To Get Dressed Up - London - The Infatuation

"We’ve seen people in hot pink, feather-covered two-pieces at Bacchanalia, and we felt like the odd ones out. As soon as you step into the Disneyland-meets-Gladiators dining room in Mayfair, you’ll understand why your dressiest outfit won’t feel out of place. The waitstaff are dressed in gimmicky Roman togas, there are naked marble sculptures coming out of the walls, and there’s a menu of Mediterranean-inspired dishes that range from a moreish tagliolini truffle pasta to a £150 bone-in rib-eye steak. It won’t be the most memorable food you eat, but it’s perfectly nice. You’re really here for the dramatic dining room that feels like a movie set, and bathrooms that make the perfect backdrop for your IG thirst trap." - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Rianne Shlebak

I visited this restaurant for the first time on 01.07.25 What are my impressions after the visit? The interior is fascinating, I couldn't stop looking at those beautiful sculptures. Very nice staff, polite, hospitable. Since I booked a table for myself, there might not have been many food options, it would have been better to come with a company. The first thing I ordered a Greek salad and a Cleopatra cocktail, unfortunately, such a cocktail was not available, so I decided to try the Cupid. Then I ordered Tagliatelle Truffle, it tasted good, but for some reason I didn't finish it. Of course I wanted to try the Tiramisu dessert, since the reviews were the best. It is a really delicious! And at the end, I ordered a Nymph 🍸. I definitely recommend Bacchanalia Mayfair but the only downside is that there is a charge for charging phone. It's fine for service charge, they are really deserved 👍 Next time I would like visit this restaurant when opera play.

An unforgettable experience at Bacchanalia, London. My husband and I spent 3 delightful hours enjoying their set lunch, and every moment felt special. The tapas entrée was absolutely delicious, setting the tone for a beautifully curated meal. The ambiance was stunning, truly one of the most beautiful restaurants we’ve been to. A highlight was the soprano singer serenading each table such a unique and magical touch. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience!

Absolutely stunning decor. Staff are efficient, friendly, professional and very accommodating. Food is to die for and huge range of cocktails. We went on fathers day which was set menu and children's meals were complimentary. There was a male opera singer there on that day who was wonderful.

Stunning restaurant, reminded me of Rome. We went for set menu and chicken was halal which was a treat. It was my birthday in couple of weeks which I told them while booking & they surprised me with a cupcake & candle which was so sweet. Food and as delicious and service amazing, background music was just perfect.

I booked this place about a month and a half in advance to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and overall it was a really nice experience. Most of the food was great and we enjoyed everything, except for the vegetarian risotto with burrata. Honestly, it didn’t have much flavor, and I wouldn’t order it again. We had the tiramisu for dessert and it was amazing. They also gave us a complimentary dessert for the birthday, which was a really nice gesture. The service was great, and the interior of the restaurant was beautiful it really helped set a special mood. There was also a live performance with three singers. It was okay, a bit too loud at times, and I didn’t really get the point of it. Maybe they could improve it by choosing better songs that fit the vibe of the place. Overall, it was a lovely evening. Aside from the risotto, everything was really good, and I’d definitely consider coming back.

Wonderful vibe with Damien Hirst's sculptures cantilevered over the airspace above the main dining area. Truly impressed with the restaurant interior design at every corner. Food was good considering the interior, and the price point was fair. Dessert was mediocre though. However, service was chaotic from the online booking system. I attended dinner as I booked online, but I was charged the cancellation fee of £50 the following day on the same visa card. I tried to contact the restaurant by phone, and there was silence when the call was picked up or it hung up after the voice recording. Then I sent a messgae as feedback via their website, and eventually, the auto email reply showed they actually had an email address that could reach them. To cut the story short, they finally replied to me by email. It took another 2 days to receive the refund after their email confirmation. I suppose they are dealing with online bookings and no shows as a normal part of running the restaurant, so this fault shows that they are not verifying the booking and not taking customers' payment details with care, i.e. charging customers fairly. If they believe/suspect I did not show up as my booking, they should at least give me a courtesy call to verify before charging me the penalty.

In general we liked everything very much! When we arrived, we were invited to the bar to wait for our table (we had a reservation), but we had to wait about 30 minutes, which was not pleasant, but the atmosphere at the bar was amazing, the music was just incredible! Thanks to the DJ!!! Then we were escorted to our table, all the waiters were polite, the atmosphere of the main bar was also great, but the live music was too loud and it was difficult for me to hear the people we were talking to. The food was prepared very quickly. All the dishes were incredible, especially the thank you da sea bass I had, it was incredibly fresh and all the components of the dish complemented each other. It was my birthday and they brought me a compliment from the restaurant, which was nice. The dessert we ordered was also very tasty. To be honest, I didn't really like the cocktails, but it depends on your taste I think. There were three of us and each of us left £90, which is quite a large sum, but the atmosphere and experience are worth it. We had less than two hours at the table and were asked to leave because of the next reservation. Overall, I recommend experiencing the atmosphere, but I don't think I would visit this place again.

Bacchanalia is one of my favorite Greek restaurants in London. While the food, atmosphere, and attention to detail never fail to impress, it was Marianna’s, Clinton’s, and Jamal’s extraordinary attentiveness and genuine hospitality—from start to finish—that elevated the entire experience. Marianna went above and beyond, making it truly memorable. I’m sure it will be one of my favorite spots each time I visit London.
