"Back Bay Farmhouse is a welcome change of pace during a Virginia Beach vacation. Located about 15 miles inland from the boardwalk, the scenic property pours housemade beers that include an Orange Crush IPA, a Farmhouse Hefe wheat beer, and a blackberry cider. A daily rotation of local food trucks provide the meal options (check out the brewery’s website for the current calendar), and cabanas and fire pits are available for small group rentals." - Travis Mitchell

Had a great time there with family. It's a unique farmhouse venue on 9 acres with great beers, wine, a bakery, a specialty hot cookie vendor, cabanas, a biergarten, plenty of seating inside and out. It's family friendly place with an awesome staff.

Awesome place, great beer, and beautiful location. Very kid friendly. Usually has really good food trucks. So much space for groups of any size. You can also bring your own lawn chairs to set up in lots of good spaces.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I didn't end up exploring everywhere, but I'll definitely be coming back. I'm not a beer person and ended up with a fantastic tasting mimosa. The prices for the alcohol were incredibly reasonable and considering how strong it was, definitely bang for the buck. I'll be coming back as often as I can manage! We came during a great pizza food truck day. I asked the bartender and was informed they have daily rotating food trucks, so all the more reason to return. Really great experience 😊😊😊

Very relaxing and great beer! Lots of places to sit and definitely okay to bring your chairs too. They take cards even with the food truck. Live music subtle in the background. Great place for friends, families, dates, and can bring your dog. The inside seating is charming too.

We've been very impressed by the Chesapeake brewery scene. But this may take the cake. Incredible spot. Just an awesome space. We knew the beers would be good after hitting the beach taproom last year. But this is definitely worth the stop when in the area..... 7.8/10

One of the best breweries around. An undiscovered gem in a pile of overpriced and pretentious breweries in the area. The staff was very friendly and the brews matched the vibes. It’s literally a farm house and I love that. It felt like home. (Please don’t change anything, prices, vibes, people)

Nov 2024 review: Want to note here that am reviewing Back Bay's as the host venue for today's 757 Mabuhay event - which gets better and better each time with more Filipino owned businesses showcasing their craft (candles, baby attires, etc), pastries (donuts, cupcakes, macaron, etc) and talent (music, dance, entertainment). There are food trucks for lechon, bowls, shaved ice, etc. Parking, however, is left to be desired. *********** Place is neat, has plenty of parking, is pet friendly, family friendly. They encourage you to bring your own picnic setup to enjoy beautiful weather, draft beer, food truck fare, swings… the day that I dropped by there was only 1 food truck. One would think there’s entertainment, but not on that day; although it was a Saturday when one would think there’s quite a crowd. The staff was informative being my first time there. He explained how it works, checks your ID… The cottage was cute, had inspirational words painted on the steps. Decor is minimalistic but cozy and rustic.

I love having our WedConnect meeting here! There is always a great space that we can find to sit and chat and meet. The Chai Tea Latte is amazing! We also give a gift card from Back Bay to every special guest speaker. It just works so well for us and our group LOVES meeting here! As a Virginia Wedding Photographer, this place represents Virginia so perfectly.

Yelp
Back Bay Farmhouse - Friday Night Vibes Recap Back Bay Farmhouse absolutely understood the assignment for a perfect Friday night. The whole place was buzzing with energy--vendors everywhere, live line dancing, local desserts, fresh produce, and even homemade ice cream stations. It felt like a summer fair with a bougie twist. Lexi made her grand entrance in a new dress gifted from the TikTok Shop and the crowd went wild--everyone was stopping us to compliment her look. You already know she was eating it up. ‍ We strolled, we snacked, we danced (okay, we watched the dancing), and soaked up the good vibes. This location was packed, but it never felt chaotic. Just community, joy, and really good eats. Add it to your list--you don't want to miss a Farmhouse Friday night! #BackBayFarmhouse #FarmhouseFridays #TikTokEvents #LexiTheBougieBT #SummerNights #FarmToVibe #LocalLove #BougieAndBlessed

Yelp
Love this place! Very family oriented. Beer, coffee and wine? What's not to like? Great outdoor area. A chilly night? No need to worry. They have a fire place available! Staff is readily available for all your beer questions and was very friendly! Plenty of parking! Oh and check out their social media for all the upcoming events!

Yelp
Not close to home but worth the visit! Really enjoyed the actual farm house packed with cool spots inside and out. Great beer selection at affordable rates doesn't hurt either. Farm house hefe was delicious! Plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, and restrooms onsite. When the weather is nice, you can't beat a brew outside with family or friends here.

Yelp
So to start, Back Bay Farmhouse Brewing Co. was not what I expected in a good way.  For one it literally is a farmhouse, surprise surprise surprise.  There is a super amount of room outside, with food trucks, activities, cabanas, a firepit, etc.  Good for the kids or fur kids, although dogs are not aloud inside the farm house because of licensing. They have an upstairs and downstairs bar, but on this occasion the downstairs was the only one open.  The line gets long, but with 3 servers the wait wasn't too long.  You can start a tab.  Wish they has an app so that you could just pre order and pick your beer up instead of standing in line. Still... the place it hot, hot, hot!!!! I loved the chill vibe of the upstairs lounge and the air was quite comfortable.  A minus for me is they serve the beer in plastic cups, but with the hundreds of guest they had that day, glassware doesn't seem feasible.  They do have beers to go.  So winning!!!! The BEER: Studio Farmhouse black IPA 6.7% ABV... started with this one.  I love black IPAs.  This one did not disappoint. Horchata Dubbel Belgian ale 7.5% ABV... Great cinnamon Belgian goodness. Loved it! The Legend of Rice Japanese rice Lager 5% ABV... reminded me of a better tasting Bud. Liked it. There are two locations that have their beer.  This is the better of the two locations.

Yelp
Went here for an evening trivia night with my friend. We were so excited to try this place but unfortunately it fell flat & we didn't stay long at all. The parking was insane (we thought this was a good thing) but the part of the lot we were able to park in was flooded, very pot hole enthusiastic & certainly NOT small car friendly. We both drove suv with four wheel drive which is the only reason why my car didn't get stuck there. Trivia was kind of chaotic. It wasn't generalized, so it was super random trivia which just wasn't fun. The speaker wasn't very engaging either. The out door seating is plentiful though, lots of pic nic tables. Inside is very small and crowded. Super long line for a limited and sub par drink menu. We both ended up throwing our drinks away because they were Luke warm, lacked flavour and were just flat. She had a cider and I had a sour. They only offer ciders & I believe beer. No cocktails or wine. Staff was uninterested in offering any kind of help with recommendations. Upstairs "library room" is cute. Bathroom is located upstairs across the balcony. Single stall. Overall we want to try the coffee portion of this house but the evenings we will be avoiding at all cost. We left in under 30 minutes and went to Kelly's tavern across the street.

Yelp
This is such a cute place! They have a ton of outdoor space and nice indoor spots. The beer is also really good. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Back bay brewing is a Marc Leishman owned place that we frequently visit when we're in the area. I think the options are quite solid -- probably the only lager that I would say is memorable. The one downside is that the farm may be a little quiet so it may not be conducive to larger groups. But then again, it has a charm of its own so if you're looking for a different type of beer-night out, I'd recommend it.

Yelp
This is such a fun place to enjoy an afternoon or evening with friends. Back Bay's Farmhouse located on Kempsville Road in the heart of Virginia Beach has plenty of activities, oftentimes with live music and an overall fun atmosphere. They offer excellent craft beers and they usually have several food trucks on site if you're looking for something to eat while you're enjoying your adult beverages. They have plenty of activities for the kids as well as the adults. Check out Back Bay's Farmhouse, you'll be glad that you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting our local business community.

Yelp
I had an amazing time at this place with my co-workers. The aesthetic was wonderful--a beautiful building with traditional and elegant decor. The staff was super pleasant and welcoming. The drinks were excellent; I had the Apple Blossom Cider that was absolutely delicious. I recommend sitting indoors as it's very hot in the summer, and drinking in the heat doesn't mix well. When it's cooler, I think the outdoor seating would be great. I will definitely come again.

Yelp
Super cute spot! Busy, but the whole place has so much space that it didn't feel crowded. Awesome beers, easy to get. The food truck that was there today was BBQ and it was some of the best we have EVER had!! 100% recommend coming here with friends and their dogs. Love the vibe here.

Yelp
This is such a great place to spend sometime outdoors, especially if you have kids. I went there with my family and a few friends who also have kids for a Halloween special event. There was tons of outdoor picnic tables and a few firepit areas. There's plenty of space for kids to play while parents have a few beers and food. There was a special market going on while we were there, where local artisans were selling goods like soaps, candles, jewelry, etc. It was a nice market to walk around for a little while. There was also a nice selection of food trucks, we were able to get awesome Filipino food from Lumpia King. The beer was good and the atmosphere was fun, so I would definitely recommend this for families.

Yelp
ALL OF THEIR BEER IS SO FREAKING GOOD! there isn't one that I haven't enjoyed. Large area for the kiddos. And they only bring in the best food trucks!

Yelp
Great beer, fun outdoor space with lots of room for kids to run around and play. All their markets and events are worth going to

Yelp
Cute local brewery with food trucks and lots of drink options. We went there for music bingo and I won, so for that I give them five stars. Shoutout Jeff for help with the big W.

Yelp
Website doesn't show their food menu. I have tried several times. All their site shows is acholol. With this in mind I don't see how they can have alot of positive reviews, unless that's the only reviews that are being posted. Their website is beyond a waste of time.

Yelp
I came here last night with my husband and we made our way to the bar and grabbed a couple of Dubbel Belgians. It's a very cool spot with a lot of space offered. It was a chilly & windy night so they had the tent up with a live musician playing plus a couple of fires going and food trucks open! Definitely wished there were heat sources of some kind in the tent, as I know this is possible from going to other breweries in the colder months. The bar staff was super friendly and willing to answer questions and offer opinions. My husband had the stout and I had the orange crush IPA as our second round. Also delicious! The ambiance is definitely on the louder end and there was a very rambunctious crew within the bar area, none of which were ever corrected for being too loud. I mean at least allow other people to sit at tables and have conversations without you acting like a drunk teenager. Huge eye roll there. There was a birthday party going on upstairs so that room was occupied, but we actually managed to sit in the annexed "library" room because no one was in it. Definitely offered more of a conversation opportunity (though we weren't sure if that particular room was actually reserved, as there were no signs! Sorry if we crashed your party a bit!) One of the couches downstairs finally cleared and we sat next to the fire and that room was awesome. So, we feel we definitely got to experience the house for what it was. We would return here again in the summer to chill outside and play yard games. Beer is good and staff is friendly! Also, to comment on other reviews, they actually have 2 locations; one on Kempsville Rd and the other on Norfolk Ave. So, the address isn't technically incorrect, you just have to know which business it's listed as on Yelp. They must have also changed the volume of alcohol served, as previous comments reveal the lack of pour. They filled ours to the brim!!

Yelp
I will say this is a nice little place to have a few drinks with friends and family and who knows after a few of their drinks you might make new friends and start a family. Same thing can be said about losing them as we know how some get when they get that liquid courage in them. I admit I am not a beer drinker but I do enjoy a good cider. Some don't consider cider to be a beer but luckily they offered a few cider selections prepared in house. I had to admit it was pretty tasty. Not too sweet and far from being dry but I know many of you have your own personal tastes when it comes to what you are looking for in your sudsy sip. One piece of advice I will offer when visiting here. If you decide to invite a large group there are places you can sit inside but outside in the middle of summer her in VA Beach it gets hot. Plenty of places to sit outside but you will be constantly shifting with the sun. Water is provided for hydration for people and our pets. As for food choices on my visit there were a few food trucks out there to balance out the drinks. Not a bad spot to visit as the local breweries seem to be constantly growing in this area giving a craft beer option. Surely one of the breweries will hit the spot and this could be one of them.
google avatar

Caroline J.

Yelp
A brewery that does Valet? I have never in my life seen that before. Not sure if they offer that every day but we visited on a Friday afternoon and they had it running. We had 40 minutes to kill before an event and decided to try out this place for the first time. We didn't spend a a lot of time there but my husband did have one of their IPA's and enjoyed it. I'm happy that they offer non-alcoholic drinks but also wine and mimosas. They have large beautiful grounds with tons of sitting areas as well as places inside to sit. Inside is also where you can grab your drinks! Can't wait to go back and drink/hang out here more!
google avatar

Travis S.

Yelp
Good Beer. Bartenders were nice for the short interactions I had. Besides it being cold outside, really cool property. I bet it's a blast during the summer.

Yelp
Back Bay's Farmhouse is my new favorite spot for get-togethers and hang-outs. We came on Labor Day for mid-day drinks and games. The location is fantastic. They have tons of outdoor space, including tented areas, private gazebos that you can reserve, and space for games like cornhole. They also often have food trucks, but they also seem to have a food menu with a few options. We started inside the Farmhouse at a gorgeous, antique table. Their cider is fantastic and so is the Orange Crush IPA. We ended up spending most of the time outside, which was perfect.

Yelp
Great brewery! Love the vibe in here, lots of activities for all ages, I just wish their grass is more grassy, instead of dirt! Super dog friendly as well, just not inside the actual "farmhouse." I usually get the Ciders, and they don't dissapoint! They usually have a food truck in the back area and other small businesses around specially the weekend. Check out their IG/social media pages for weekly events!
google avatar

Scott J.

Yelp
I have mixed reviews because I came during on a cold, rainy day and had a dog with me. Cons: 1. Dogs are not allowed in the main house. 2. They do not offer flights. 3. The outdoor tent was torn up and not heated. 4. Beer was a little more expensive than expected. Pros: 1. Pretty cool ambiance, but it was rainy and had to wait outside with my dog. 2. There's a ton of outdoor space to hang with your friends. 3. Had a food truck on-site.
google avatar

Christian E.

Yelp
Nice place to have a beer or two. or three. Mimosas always slap with their multitude of flavors. Nice place also to sit down near the fire and grab nice food from food trucks. Overall, a great vibe especially for me who lives 5 minutes away. Parking could be better however, and you might have to park across the street just in case.
google avatar

Christine G.

Yelp
Great brewery to hang out with friends and grab a beer! Here you will find plenty of space outside to sit, hangout, catch up with friends and play a few outdoor games. It's a great space. Inside the house you can find the wines on the left side and the beers on the right. They have a good selection that changes and they brew all their beer themselves. If you are hungry they have food trucks right outside by the tables where you can grab some food. The food trucks change daily so you can check their schedule to see what's avail that day. We've been here quite a few times already. Definitely a great local brewery to check out!
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
Always a good time, even when it's packed! Back Bay Brewing has some of the best variety end brews around and I am ADDICTED to their ciders. We have come more times than I can admit.
google avatar

Yelp
I took my husband here after a few recommendations. It was his birthday and he wanted to take me out but I wanted him to have fun, and the day be about him. So after dropping the kids off to the sitter, we beelined right to here! Parking was not the easiest. It was definitely a bit of a struggle cause most of the parking lot was for Valet. But we don't mind parking a ways out and walking. As the name states you pull in and there is a beautiful house and many tented areas to hang out and eat. There is a large lawn where you can bring your own seats and hang out with your kids and pets if you'd like. There is a tomahawk throwing areas right as you walk up too! We started off by going into the farmhouse and ordering beers. I noticed it looks like all beers are $7 for a plastic cup of beer. My husband and I tried several beers throughout the night for 8 beers total plus tipping money, we spend around $70. Very pricey IMO, but we knew it wasn't going to be cheap and we love supporting small businesses. After a couple beers we were hungry, so we wandered over to the only food truck left, "Miki's Dog House," and they were very busy. Super long line and the wait for ordering the food and then waiting for it was around an hour but very worth it. Then we spent around $55 for 3 burgers, fries, onion rings, and they threw in some corn dog nuggets which was a great surprise. Our dinner was made fresh to order and was hot and everything was crispy and delicious and very satisfying! After we ate we decided to throw some axes, and for first timers we did pretty well! We received a quick rundown and for $20 we could each throw an axe 5 times. Other than the fact that I at one point almost kilt meself, due to the axe bouncing back to my feet, it was really fun and we'd love to do it again! I'm a two handed thrower while my husband is a one handed thrower, next time I'll attempt one hand. We brought chairs with us but never used them cause we ended up sitting under the covered tables which we were drawn to because of the pretty lights they have hung all around! It really gave a nice ambiance to the night. We stayed until close which is 10pm, and decided that we will definitely come back again but due to the prices of beer it will definitely be for special occasions and not very often.

Yelp
I like Farmhouse. I really do. But my attempted visit earlier this evening left me very angry. I'll preface this by saying that a reason I really love Farmhouse is that it allows us to spend time together as a family. There's plenty of open space for our little girl to roam while my husband and I enjoy some very needed time to relax (as much as one can relax while also following said little girl like a hawk). So with a beautiful evening ahead and a good food truck on the docket, we decided to head to Farmhouse tonight. We got there at 5:30 to find that no less than half of the parking was designated valet only. Previously, a much smaller percentage of the parking lot was for use by the valet. Neither my husband nor I carry cash on the regular. And I refuse to park across the street and walk with my toddler across a very busy Kempsville road at rush hour. After circling the lot twice, we gave up and went home. I'm hopeful that they're only doing this on Fridays, but it left a really bad taste in my mouth and the desire to take my money elsewhere. So if the intention is to give the Farmhouse staff another way to pocket some change, they're costing themselves business in the process. I hope they reconsider their decision to reserve such a large chunk of their lot for valet. It will be quite a long time before I reconsider going back.

Yelp
In 2018, the family Farmhouse in Virginia Beach, VA was established as a local brewery. And they have been running the block every since! Ok, I must admit I'm not a big drinker but I absolutely love to kick back and chill at Back Bay's Farmhouse Brewing Co! The environment is kid friendly, the staff is cool, and they have the best honey lavender mimosas! During COVID they set up the igloo tents and they have fire pits for customers to chill at during the winter months. Also, the Farmhouse partners with a variety of local food trucks and vendors to come through daily to serve their customers. Check out their event page to see who will be on site each day. This weekend they had an Oyster Fest and Oyster Catcher Sea Farms came through shucking the fresh oysters. And Outer Banks Boil Company bar-b-que sandwiches were on point. Somebody got a pig farm near them because that pork was making it do what it do. I'm going to make my way over there soon to grab a take home seafood pot!

Yelp
New to the neighborhood, we found this place early on, and it quickly became a top pick. The chill vibes and awesome beer options make it a go-to spot for anyone looking to kick back and enjoy. Staff is very friendly and quick!

Yelp
Went late evening with my daughter and a date. My daughter was watching something on YouTube with another kid and started squeaking from excitement. There was an employee and started complaining "Hey she needs to calm down! We can't have a noise complaint from those neighbors!" so right away I knew we probably should get going but this employee continued to make me feel uncomfortable with my friend, he was saying he's serious and then threatening to kick us out. I felt insulted. I felt this was a racial thing, as to why he was so incredibly harsh. Also, we were going to head out the moment an employee said anything about my kids excitement which is just normal excitement for a three year old who had been home all day. I just don't recommend this place, employees are sketchy. white washed, not friendly to certain people.
google avatar

Kayla B.

Yelp
This place is so dope! An old farm house turned into a brewery, there's always an event going on on the weekends, live music on the porch, tons of vendors and food trucks. This place is so cute!

Jen G.

Yelp
The cider is delicious and the German food truck is amazing. We will definitely return.

Yelp
What a great place to indulge on a beautiful summer night. A wide lot of land with a farmhouse (of course), seating, and games. Came by with friends for the food truck festival & we got here right around 5pm and it was getting packed already! If you want a seat, definitely arrive on time or even early. Also saw people bringing in blankets & chairs to relax on. There's valet & self serve parking. Valet is free, but tips welcomed. I love their use of the farmhouse with indoor seating and bars. Outdoor seating is also available with the cutest little rocking seats/table + other picnic tables with umbrellas & a fire pit with chairs around it. Thoroughly enjoyed my first time here! Almost forgot it was even a weekday until an employee was asking us to leave, LOL. Only negative is employees aren't too keen to making their presence known or saying excuse when reaching all the way across you to collect empty drink glasses. There's cornhole and a closed off seating area in front of the farmhouse that seems available to rent. Great outdoor fun, food, and relaxation with friends!
google avatar

Alexa S.

Yelp
This place has a very cool atmosphere. It's an outdoor facility, so if it's super hot outside be prepared to sweat (I speak from experience!). They have valet parking, but I think you can park yourself and walk too? Not positive about that. When you get there, head to the house for drinks. They have a lot of beer, but I got one of the mimosas. I tried the pomegranate mimosa and it was really good. We went on a Wednesday and they had a food truck rally, so we got delicious food truck yummies. They have cornhole that you and a group can play as well as various seating options. They had live music, but it was by the house and they didn't have speakers so we could hear it from where we sat which was a bummer. Overall it was a nice experience. 4.5 rating. More outdoor activities or having the music louder for all to enjoy would give it the boost it needs for 5 stars.

Yelp
Built in a century old farmhouse, Back Bay's second location has become a must-go spot for beer lovers on the South side of Hampton Roads. This is for good reason. As an outdoor venue to appreciate perfect Sunday afternoon weather, huddle up by the fire pit with some friends, or stretch out on the front lawn and listen to local live music, Farmhouse can't be matched. Spacious grass lawn, picnic tables, bocce ball, Cornhole, and two giant fire pits on the outside, with an exquisite turn of the century manor on the inside, Farmhouse feels like a family picnic reunion filled with hazy afternoon laughter and stories you tell to younger generations. Every visit to the Farmhouse is an experience. So let's talk about the beers. I won't say that every beer is a winner, but I've never been here at a time when they didn't have at least one or two that weren't stunning. Orange crush is a long time favorite IPA with great citrusy fruit notes without a whole lot of bitterness. The Monarch IPA is to die for and would be a great gateway drug for anyone looking to get into this fan favorite craft beer. Meanwhile the 757 lager is light, crisp and extremely refreshing. If you are in the Indian River area of Va Beach and you love craft beer, Farmhouse is a no brainer.

Yelp
That homely kind of brewery that just takes your breath away with all of the relaxing, comfortable places for you to enjoy your drinks, friends, and good food. With regular and valet parking available to the left and front of house and handicap behind the house you won't be to far from the house. If any changes in parking, you will be informed once you pull into the property Farmhouse Tours are available on some Saturdays and Sunday's for $25.00 per person, anyone under 21 can sign up for the tour for free. Throughout the one hour tour you will receive three tastings newly selected each day in their custom branded Farmhouse tasters glass which is now yours. Also the tour will focus on the history of the house and property as well as 1.5 acre farm and 15 barrel high gravity brew system. With outdoor fire pitts, patio chairs, benches, swinging benches, heated tents for that chilly weather and seating in the front porch you are sure to find a comfortable outdoors relaxing view, or you could also enjoy yourself playing corn hole or other games. Once inside the house you will have access to two bars whom will have various Beers and Ciders available both upstairs and downstairs. Also available as you walk in is a store/mini bar, where you can purchase Mimosas, Wine, Crunchy Carrot water & drinks, IBC, A & W, Mexican Cokes, Pellegrino, San Pellegrino waters, Aloha snacks, Chips, and Farmhouse souvenirs. Upstairs you will enjoy the rooms with flatscreens and balcony for your pleasure Outside you will enjoy Beer and Cider from their very own beer truck, but you will also enjoy food from various food trucks such as La Cucina, Fajita Express, Pelican Pete, Sofritos, Captain Crabby, Deutscher, Flying Pig, Vicki Vails, Taste of Asia, Aloha Popup, Nawlins Escape, Che's Concessions, The Coop, and Cast Iron, to name a few, but be sure to check the schedule on their website. I really enjoyed the Wood Farmhouse Pilsner by the fireplace playing 5 Seconds with a group of people. So do come out and experience it for yourself !!! I know I'll be back trying different brews and cider !!! Cheers !!!

Yelp
Despite some of my friend's musings about this place "looking like a plantation" (which to be honest- it kind of does) I've been waiting for a brewery to open up close to my house. I've tried most of the beers-including one made with beets, which at first tasted great, and seems to be overbearing if you get a full glass. The space to walk around, chill, or play games is open enough so it doesn't seem to feel crowded to me. Food Trucks are around in case you get hungry, and watch out for the Oatmeal Stout a few of those and it's night night for you.

Yelp
So far, this place is STUNNING! From the passionate and friendly staff to the unique and absolutely delicious beers, you just can't lose! Kempsville NEEDS this place! We have been so excited for this location to open! The refurbished farm house makes a wonderful brew pub that is like no other. The sprawling property and awesome landscaping make for a breathtaking view from the porch - as if the porch itself wasn't attractive enough. They grow their own hops, the fruit and veg that are used in their beers (or it's hyper-local) and they do NOT have the unreasonable prices for the high quality you get. I am so excited to be here for the soft opening and will share lots of photos and feedback!!

Yelp
I visited Farmhouse Brewing Co. on my way out of town yesterday, wanting to check it out after seeing posts on social media about the Grand Opening. It was a Sunday, the day after the big Grand Opening bash they threw on Saturday, so it was still quite crowded from all the hype surrounding it, especially since it was a perfect weekend, weather-wise, to be outside with friends and family enjoying beers. It was awesome to see the crowds (I love when businesses take off so strongly), but because they had such a large staff working we didn't even have to worry about long lines to get our beer. The farmhouse itself is super cool; they've kept the integrity of the old house in the neat way the rooms are decorated, and the rooms were kept divided rather than creating large open spaces for maximum seating by tearing down walls. This allows for several areas of quirky and cozy seating. There is a bar upstairs, a large bar downstairs and another smaller bar that sells juice and food downstairs, too. The biz occupies a big plot of land, so there is plenty of varied seating outdoors including picnic tables, sliding/rocking covered picnic tables, two areas with chair-encircled firepits, and plenty of grass for lounging on. There is an area with bocce courts and they had a huge outdoor checkerboard set up in the lawn, too. They have a consistent food menu offered any day of the week and then rotating food trucks will be there from Thursday to Sunday. On to the beer: I tried the saison and the nitro stout. I always love a good saison, and with a name like Farmhouse Brewing I thought I should try theirs. It didn't disappoint. It was refreshing and flavorful but maybe less strongly flavored than some saisons can be, which made it that much more drinkable. The stout was super creamy and smooth and will be a great beer to enjoy as the cooler weather continues to move in. Overall I wish this place was closer to where I actually live--super kid-friendly, tasty beer, seating to suit any mood/group size/weather, a variety of food offered, and friendly folks behind the bars. Hopefully I'll get a chance to swing by again the next time we're in VB.

Yelp
Loved the friendly, chill, and laid back atmosphere. Tons of places to order drinks. Outside, inside, upstairs. Family friendly and loved how they had a fenced area where kids could run around. They had three sets of corn hole boards and the lawn was short enough to lay a blanket down. If you have a dog, bring him/her. It's definitely a place to bring it on a leash. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is the cutest place to come with dogs or family! They have food trucks often and the strawberry shortcake cider is sooo good! Family friendly for sure and such a cute little country feel to it! The service was good, you just go up and order and pay. One of my favorite spots!

Yelp
This was my first time at Back Bay Farmhouse. Out with colleagues celebrating. We happened to have other colleagues that were also enjoying the Summer Friday evening so we're able to sit in a reserved area. I sincerely appreciate not being bit by any mosquitoes so I can assume that they used a service to spray for the pest. The selections of brews, IPA's, ciders were the highlight of Back Bay. I have only heard of what was a delight to drink by others that have been there. The bartender was very helpful and offering taste sample of their offerings. I started with a Pineapple cider which was so full of flavor. Smooth on the palette nice and ice COLD.. I soon went for my second. After that was a blueberry cider, alao ice cold and bursting with flavor. They offer 3 sizes at a very attractive cost. The brewery offers umbrella covering as well as a wooden canopy area. I did notice later in the day, people with lawn chairs set on the grassy area. Some people did have pets with them as well which I would rather not have around me as I drink and eat. Oh yes there were 2 food trucks tacos, and pretzels with cheese. I was actually looking for more food to nosh on as we were drinking this nice cold beers and ciders. The location I have passed many times never knowing they were there, so I do hope to return soon and next time take some pics of my selections...

Yelp
Awesome place! Interesting concept that works very well in the area. It is a House-Bar with an indoor and outdoor space. House living rooms make this place the perfect cozy athmosphere. They provide mostly beer, but they offer a couple of wines as well. I enjoyed every time I have been there with my friends. The environment is young and healthy. They do not provide food directly, but outdoors there are some food trucks. There are two parking options: free or valet. A charming place even more on autumn and on Halloween. The seasonal decoration is simply amazing! High

Yelp
You were such a great venue...now apparently greed has taken over. We visited you on Halloween weekend and you were charging $8.25 for less than a half pint. The bartender then gave me a song and dance about the smaller sizes for a stout. You can run your business any way you want. That is your prerogative. It is also my prerogative to go elsewhere. Makers, Reaver Beach, MoMac, and New Realm among others are better beer and friendlier staff anyway. They also give you a pint regardless of type of beer. Shame on you in this economy for acting this way. For those interested in these comments please see the picture. This is what $8.25 gets you here at time of posting. Also notice that the tiny cup is not even full.

Yelp
Seriously, I don't think I've ever been to a place like this before. It's a little like you see in the movies, with someone getting married in the background (DJ included), soft live music on the porch (hipster guitarist included), food trucks with lines of people just happy to be together, and an entire house and yard full of people (singles, families, anyone) who have enjoyed a brew and now can just sit and relax together. I really do love this place. (Btw, all those things really were happening simultaneously) My friend wanted to celebrate her bday here, and now I feel like I have to do the same thing! There's really no better way to unwind with friends, try new food, enjoy amazing beer, and just "be." It has *that* kind of vibe. Ugh I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I sent an email with questions and I received a response almost immediately. Also, the website listed on yelp is incorrect. Go to: https://backbayfarmhouse.com/

Yelp
Cool farmhouse ambiance tucked away. We came near closing when it was cold and dark, but would love to come back when we can roam the property.

Yelp
I have two words that I want you to remember. Orange Crush Orange Crush. Orange Crush. The point is this. Go to Back Bay. Try this Orange Crush IPA. It's perfect. Thank me later.
