We stayed at the Backstage Boutique SPA Hotel in Zermatt and it’s truly one-of-a-kind.||The spa is out of this world — more like an artistic journey than a typical wellness area. Each cube tells a different sensory story, and the whole setup feels surreal and unforgettable. Definitely something to try at least once.||The Cube Rooms themselves are weird and amazing at the same time. They’re visually stunning, with beds on another level and creative design touches, but some of the functionality is a bit of a mystery. The lighting and switches took us a while to figure out and not so practical if you are using adaptors, and traveling with our daughter, we found the open-plan bathroom wasn’t the most practical. It’s an experience for sure — probably one to do once, though next time I might opt for a different room style.||The location is fantastic, right in the center of Zermatt. Breakfast is excellent too, with fresh and local touches.||What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone was helpful, warm, and attentive — especially Marcia and Dimi, who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.||Overall, the Backstage is a hotel that blends art, design, and hospitality in a way that you won’t find anywhere else. Not without its quirks, but absolutely memorable.
