I've been a fan of Bad As's Sandwiches ever since they opened years ago. When I heard that they were expanding the brand to include a burger joint, they had my attention and interest. It took me a while to finally give them a shot, and I really wish I would have done so earlier because my first experience with Bad As's Burgers was excellent.
Coming home from work today, I was tired, but I was also craving a good burger and fries. I found that Bad As's Burgers takes orders through UberEats, so I decided that tonight's the night to check them out.
First of all, they don't use your standard, run-of-the-mill beef patty for their burgers. They use 100% wagyu beef from Australia, and that justifies their pricing. Also, they offer a "build-your-own-burger" option, but I prefer to try the menu's specialties before venturing out on my own. On UberEats, the double patty is kind of the default action, but usually a single patty is enough for me, so I went with the single Eddy burger, which consists of smoked cheddar, bacon, arugula, crispy onions, house pickles, and house garlic mayo along with a side order of fries because what is a burger without a side of fries?
First of all, I can't even imagine the double patty version of this burger because the single patty version was enormous! The bun was huge itself, and the patty and toppings only add to it. I'm not saying this as a negative thing; you really get your money's worth here. The burger was delicious and all of the ingredients made a delicious pairing. Just like their sandwich shop, these guys know what they're doing.
Their fries were pretty good, too! They included a side of their house made ketchup which is always a plus to me over throwing a couple of Heinz packets into a bag. And the fry portions are an almost Five Guys like situation where you get a huge amount of fries just for asking.
I'm looking forward to trying some of their other signature burgers, and I'd like to give their "build-your-own-burger" a chance given the mass amount of options they give for toppings and dressing.
I'd say that if you're into burgers, and you're sick of fast-food, give Bad As's Burgers a go. The prices are a bit high but the quality explains exactly why that is. The service was great as they prepared my order and had it delivered before my scheduled delivery time. And if you plan on ordering the standard double-patty burger, I hope you're hungry because this place brings it in terms of what you get and what you pay for.
