Best Breweries in Houston | Eater Houston

"Come for the beer, stay for the free air hockey, foosball, pool, and basketball games. This spacious brewery is kid-friendly until 9 p.m., and dog-friendly all the time (as long as they’re on a leash). Select from favorites such as the Swerve the Penguin, an American stout, and Fake Landing, a hazy IPA. Check out its event menu for live music, comedy sets, yoga sessions, Punk Garage Sales, and even wrestling matches." - Brianna Griff

The 12 Best Breweries And Beer Gardens In Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"Bad Astronaut Brewing Company converted a 36,000-square-foot warehouse into an indoor play area for adults, complete with pool tables, arcade games, and local comics trying out their latest material (advice: order an extra pour while that one guy does his bit about his latest Tinder experience). We especially like the fruity Schwifty Session when the breeze blows through this north downtown space. And while you could come for the atmosphere, their light, fruit-forward beer Love for Manilla warrants a visit alone. Bring your entire friend group to watch the game with your dogs on a Saturday afternoon." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas, julie takahashi

Space-Themed Brewpub Bad Astronaut Brewing Company to Blast Off in Houston’s Hardy Yards This Fall | Eater Houston

"Opening this fall just north of Downtown in the Hardy Yards neighborhood, beer veterans Chris Fall and Craig “Rocky” Keener are transforming a 30,000-square-foot warehouse at 1519 Fulton Street into a tap room, an indoor beer garden, a gaming area, and ample production space. The brewpub will focus on four core beers — an American IPA, a Hazy IPA, Munich Hells, and a German Pilsner — which will also be available in limited capacity throughout Houston, while 30 taps will offer wines, ciders, and beers from other breweries. Games including darts, pool, air hockey, shuffleboard, and corn hole will be free to the public. The brewery’s astronaut/space theme centers on a fictional, work-shy astronaut mascot who enjoys the perks of the job more than the responsibilities of space travel, a tongue-in-cheek concept that reflects the fun side of brewing." - Brittany Britto Garley

Good evening, everyone. I wanted to share my experience from yesterday's visit to the Bad Astronaut Brewing Company, where I attended the Bedrock City Minicon. The event featured a commendable selection of vendors. However, I did observe some concerning business practices. Specifically, I witnessed an individual attempting to acquire a collection, and during my presence, they endeavored to significantly undervalue items from a seller who was exiting the business. This particular interaction was quite unsettling. Despite this, I was able to acquire some desirable items, and I trust the remainder of the event proceeded smoothly after my departure. My acquisitions included the new Phantom Rider Marvel Legends figure, obtained at a very competitive price, and a Superpowers Superman figure, inspired by the Fleischer cartoons of the '40s.

We came here as we were in Houston for the day and the reviews were good. This was not a pleasant experience. It a big place and was mostly empty aside for a reception on the far end. Probably because it was about 2pm. Despite being empty I felt rushed to order. I have never been here and wanted to know what was popular. I had one drinker skipped out on food to leave for another brewery.

Great beer selection, they have something for everyone. Awesome place to hang out with friends, love the pool tables/shuffle board/basketball but also there is plenty of room to spread out and chat. I love that they are open late though it does get busy when there is a show, it still took minimal time to get through the line. They always have a food truck if you don't want to leave. The parking lots tend to fill on show nights but there is plenty of street parking. So happy to have this place nearby!

What a cool vibe this place has. Really enjoyed the concert and my Wife really enjoyed their beer. I don't drink so can't comment on it. The place has plenty parking and an amazing amount of space. We will definitely be back.

As someone born and raised in Bavaria—the birthplace of Helles—I can say with absolute confidence that the lager Helles at Bad Astronaut is exceptional. It captures everything a true Helles should embody: a beautifully clear golden color, a crisp yet smooth body, and a perfectly balanced malt sweetness with just the right touch of noble hop bitterness. What impressed me most is the authenticity. Too often, Helles brewed outside of Germany lean too heavy in one direction—either overly sweet or too hoppy. This one, however, shows true respect for Bavarian brewing tradition. It’s refreshing, clean, and dangerously drinkable, exactly the kind of beer you want to enjoy all afternoon with good company. For me, this is more than just a beer—it’s a taste of home. If you’re searching for a world-class Helles without booking a flight to Munich, you’ll find it here. Ten stars without hesitation. Prost! 🍻

I did not eat any food there. But I do d have a few beers other than being a little pricey for just a 12oz cup of beer. That did taste very good. And there only being one restroom for what I would like to say about 600 people ( maybe a little less than that but I am just guessing on the amount of people) is not a good idea. The line to use the restroom was crazy and as some of you will know when drinking you will have to go to the restroom and waiting in a line could mean a lot of mistakes. And the area where the bands play is very well thought out the sound was good even if I think it was a little low volume wise. But the sound guy was spot on in the mix. I had a good time just needs more restrooms. And please lower the price of the beer please. And the foosball tables are a wreck men are missing or broken the poles are super sticky making it hard to make any good shots. These are the only issues I had other than that this place is pretty cool

It was my first time there for the Punk Rock Garage sale and it was nice and apart from the air tables , hoops , table games and food truck ... the staff was super friendly and helpful Being how my group had not tried their brews they not only described but gave samples to find your taste . They have more than enough space to just sit back and enjoy a beer or your liking ( to call it just a beer is an understatement ) On this day they were dog friendly which was a plus for me ( but not certain if that's always so maybe call and ask ) All in all great time , will have to go back to try the rest of the selections 😃

Went here for a metal concert and yeah it was amazing. The mixing engineer did fantastic and the sound was clear and well executed. Food looked great, I didn’t eat anything but saw lots of people chowing down and there was lots of seating to get comfortable at to eat. The drinks were amazing. My friend said he wanted to go back just to get some more of their beer it was THAT good. They also had non alcoholic options for my gf that worked out fantastic.
