Best Breweries in Houston | Eater Houston

"Come for the beer, stay for the free air hockey, foosball, pool, and basketball games. This spacious brewery is kid-friendly until 9 p.m., and dog-friendly all the time (as long as they’re on a leash). Select from favorites such as the Swerve the Penguin, an American stout, and Fake Landing, a hazy IPA. Check out its event menu for live music, comedy sets, yoga sessions, Punk Garage Sales, and even wrestling matches." - Brianna Griff

Bad Astronaut Brewing Co. Review - Downtown - Houston - The Infatuation

"Bad Astronaut Brewing Company converted a 36,000-square-foot warehouse into an indoor play area for adults, complete with pool tables, arcade games, and local comics trying out their latest material (for that guy talking about his latest Tinder experience, order an extra pour). We especially like the fruity Schwifty Session when the breeze blows through this north downtown space. And while you could come for the atmosphere alone, their light, fruity forward beer Love for Manilla warrants a visit with your entire friend group to watch the game with your dogs on a Saturday afternoon." - Julie Takahashi

What a fun find! Not far from another popular brewery (which on this day was a little too crowded) we stumbled upon Bad Astronaut. Great atmosphere. Lots of space and a beautiful view of downtown. We enjoyed every beer we tried.

Offer a lot of great beer selections and non-alcoholic options. They also have really good pizza here and also usually have a food truck available outside. They have markets on the weekends as well going on here. Lots of activities to do while you’re here, with pool tables, foosball tables, basketball arcade, and much more. Great for kids and large groups.

This place use to be family friendly when i first started to go here when they first opened, and supported them through the hot summers when they were slow, but seems like its under new management. I brought my kids in for a fun day with all the Houston rain and cold. And my kids were told to stop “running around” with all of the games and basketball’s that were supplied by the place. If the place doesn’t want kids running around they should get rid of the games and make it 21 and up. It’s Sad we would always recommend this place to friends to take their kids.

Fun place for beer with air hockey, pool, foosball, ping pong, shuffle board, full size basketball arcades... all free and open. Kid friendly during the day. Beers are good but not the best in town. Decent spot! Lots of seating, big open warehouse. Wish they had some good food options, but we pop on over to Saint Arnold either before or after for food.

I went to support my friend Jess and her Market that she hosts the first Saturday of every month. She owns Thorn and Moon and it was wonderful! Plenty of space and a stage for the burlesque performances as well as kid friendly until 9:00 pm. The venue is a great place to bring your family and guests from out of town as the view of down town is amazing!! I didn’t have any food or anything to drink but water (which was free and abundantly available) so I can’t speak to their menu items or specialty drinks.

Freaking wicked place! Started coming here because of the events and love to bring friends to chill, have a drink, play a game. Parking is never an issue, they're dog friendly, and the drinks are super reasonably priced. Haven't had the chance to try the food yet but, they do have food available, as well as food trucks/vendors at times. Definitely recommend

A Tuesday hot spot stop we ventured into and been wanting to see what it had to offer. Our 1st time here; cool place, roomy. Has pool tables x4, Foosball x4, Hot Shot hoops x2, and shuffleboard x2, love that game. Pretty cool venue. Feel'd the vibe fo-sho. 🍺🍻 Our stop there was an early one, around 3pm-ish, and there was no crowd. They had the Olympics playing on the tube (NICE!!!). The beer was refreshing and pleasant to the pallet. We had the Cruis'n Through lager, the Destroy All Humans Stout, and the refreshingly crisp THC Limeade. All were very good and we enjoyed them with great convo & company. Just note that it might be better to arrive a bit later in the day (evening perhaps) when it's not so hot. Even with their big a$$ fans it was toasty, but that won't stop us from coming back. It's a cool 😎 place to hangout.

Pretty cool place. Beer is good. Food trucks were decent. Went for a comedy show and had a good time. They had a door open and some spray paint art going on, which made it cold and fumey inside, so took off a star
