"What makes Bad Luck’s smashburger the greatest in town isn’t an exact science. Maybe it’s the fact that the pickles are under the patty, so they hit your tongue at a different time. Maybe it’s the slightly sweet potato bun that reminds us of a Hawaiian-style bun. Maybe it’s the way the cheese melts onto the super-thin, crispy-edged beef. Or, that the sauce is like a mustardy thousand island-meets-secret sauce. Honestly, it’s probably the copious amounts of soft diced onions. All of it together? Perfection. And adding on some lucky tots with pickle de gallo and spicy nacho cheese amps up the enjoyment of the burger tenfold. "Bad Larry Burger Club describes itself as “never open” and “never closed” which is pretty accurate given the constantly-changing locations and the infrequent cadence. Sometimes you’ll find them set up in a neighborhood, delivering smashburgers via remote-controlled truck, and other times they’ll be set up from a second-story balcony dropping burgers through a socially-distanced “burger chute.” We can’t promise when you’ll get one, but we can tell you that if you do manage to snag a coveted spot, it’ll be one of the best burgers you’ve had all year.
