"Bad Sports Taqueria on the Hackney Road is a fun, neighbourhood spot that’s part American sports bar and part Mexican cantina. It’s a place to wolf down some tacos and beer with some mates, or with a date or your dog, all in a very chilled out setting. Speaking of tacos, they’re some of the most authentic in London. We’d strongly advise you to order the Al Pastor because eating Mexican spiced pork and pineapple is one of the best things ever. And you deserve all the best things. Get the yuca fries too. As for the bar, you’ll find American sport on the TV (American netball & American rugby mainly), beer, cocktails, tequila and a shot called “Unnecessary Roughness” that apparently may make you shit your pants. Their words, not ours. And no, we don’t know what’s in it either." - Eileen Twum

Great tacos, friendly staff, quick service. Perfect spot for a quick bite and a beer. Good prices too. Not been here later when the bar downstairs is open but that is probably worth checking out too.

Hackney finally have decent tacos place again! And more importantly - since Rita's is closed - you can get slushie margarita here! ❤️❤️❤️

Great tacos! This place has been getting stronger ever since they opened- each time we go back we're more impressed. Tacos are all excellent with fantastic corn tortillas. Staff is outstanding: cool, very helpful, and really make sure you have a chill time.

Love this place. The Michelada hits the spot and the Sea bream taco and Kohlrabi & Fennel salad are my favourites. Service is always great.

Delicious tacos. Friendly and incredibly tasty dishes. Hopefully they'll sort out the confusing name and poorly designed menu.

Pretty good, fresh tacos (made on site) with some lovely fillings. Similar style to Wahaca but fresher as it's not some huge chain. It is hard to get a table here, but I think it's worth the wait. Get here before you're hungry, book a table and have drinks at the bar downstairs.

Super casual spot with spicy, delicious Mexican nibbles. The spicy smashed cucumber, fried chicken, tacos and plantain style fries are all awesome. Plus plenty of great tequila cocktails and beers to choose from. The staff are also super nice here.

Great little hole in the wall bar with amazing tacos and atmosphere. I went here for the superbowl viewing and it was incredible. The live halftime show in the basement was the highlight of the evening. Definitely worth a stop in for the tacos alone. Opens at 12, not 12:30.

Yelp
This place has legitimate Mexican food...now that's saying something considering it's in London! The carnitas was amazing, super juicy and cooked perfectly. Two downsides - the cost is slightly more than I feel comfortable paying, but it's on par with other restaurants in the area. The other is their tortillas for their tacos break really easily. Kind of wish they gave you two for each taco (like they do at most small taquerias in California) Other than that the food is delicious and definitely hits the spot when you're craving legitimate Mexican food. And you can even get a £5 Tecate to wash it all down!

Yelp
"Unlike some men, I had never drunk for boldness or charm or wit; I had used alcohol for precisely what it was, a depressant to check the mental exhilaration produced by extended sobriety." Upstairs tacos, downstairs bar. NY Giants games on. What else is there to say. Good people, good place.

Yelp
I stopped by here today for lunch about 4pm and was pleasantly surprised by the cheerful nature of the place with good tunes blasting (but still allowing for a convo) and a friendly host (with gorgeous eyes!) that greeted me. It wasn't busy. I got the oyster mushroom tacos and a side order of the fennel and kohlrabi slaw. The food arrived pretty quickly and I was pleased to see what appeared to be (pink) beetroot taco tortillas. The mini tortillas are the perfect conjecture of soft and firm, falling apart only slightly. The mushrooms are delicious with the pasilla chili. The slaw is also phenomenal and BRAVO for the portion size. As a side, it's easily splittable between two people and I had half for takeaway. Lunch tomorrow! If I was in the area, I'd definitely return here.

Yelp
Very tasty tacos with good tortillas and great sauces. Good service as well. The only thing is that they are a little bit pricey considering that the meat or fish that you get is rather small.

Yelp
Walked in here craving Mexican after happy hour at Folklore, next door... These are some of the more authentic tacos I've had in London, but there's something lacking in the small space and decor, which vacillates between frat boy dorm room and TGI-Friday's tacky. The music they play in the bar downstairs isn't great and their bar menu and cocktails are fine but nothing to write home about. There are only a few tables so the wait was really long (I had to wait upwards of an hour on a weekday, with the friendly but overly-optimistic server telling me every few minutes that a table would free up soon.) So get the beef and pork tacos to go!

Yelp
Had the Al Pastor and Steak Tacos. Both were delicious and service was great and friendly. Definitely with the venture out this way.
