Bafang Dumpling — authentic Taiwanese flavors! Tastes exactly like what I’ve had in Taiwan. The pan-fried dumplings are crispy and delicious, and the wonton soup is very comforting. The fried chicken cutlet is tasty and aromatic, though slightly overcooked and a bit dry. The pickled cucumber and daikon side dishes were refreshing. No additional service charge — great value for the price. Highly recommended!

04-16-2025 My first time being here. Perfect time of arrival, 11:20am, no queue. Ordered: #3 $14.95 6 Signature Dumplings 6 Kimchi & Pork Potstickers Hot & Sour Soup #7 $13.75 Bafang Signature Noodle Wonton Soup Our friends ordered, see receipt. They enjoyed their dishes as much as we did. Everything was yummy delicious finger licking good! Only draw back, the food took a while even though we were the only customers in the dining room.

Google
Excellent Chinese food at Bafang Dumpling! The restaurant was very busy so you may need to wait for a seat, you order at the front and they give you a buzzer. We ordered the combo #4 with signature noodles, kimchi and pork potstickers, beef dry noodle, chili peppered fried chicken, veggie dumplings and soy awesome and soy tiger bobas for drinks. Everything tasted great. The service was very friendly and quick. Recommend!

Google
Good pot stickers and dumplings at reasonable prices. The pork chop was forgettable but the fried chicken was good. The fried chicken was crispy but it would have been a lot better if they were less oily. Hot and sour soup and chili wontons are good too. Overall good value restaurant 👍

Google
Excited to dump into their soft opening in SD location. Long lines of waiting. Good quality of food. Authentic dumplings tastes really good. The only downside - there are many of the paper and plastics containers and utensils that they use here even for dine in guests. Overall food tastes tend to be sweeter side. However, I appreciate the Taiwanese dumpling shop like this in the U.S. when I craving for Asian food. This will be the go to place to grab some noodles and dumplings.

They had vegetarian option but we didn't like them. We didn't like the food that much but the drink we ordered was really good.

This place was packed for lunch on a Monday. Every table was full and there was a line to order. Luckily a table opened up and we were able to grab it. The line to order went quickly but our food took a while to come out. We bought some cold appetizers so we were glad we had those to munch on while we waited for our food. I really like the cold meat, tofu, and peanuts combo tray that we got. The dumplings were crispy on the outside and full of flavor. I really like the signature Bafang dry noodles too. They had a nice spicy kick to them. The hot and sour soup was ok.

Google
Bafang Dumpling is quickly expanding across Southern California, and the Mira Mesa location keeps up the same high standards. Their menu highlights dumplings, potstickers, and noodles, with a special lunch combo that combines their most popular items—perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. They also offer a variety of refreshing fruit teas and milk teas to pair with your food. Their frozen dumplings are another hit, available in convenient packs of 20 or 50 pieces, making them ideal for take-home meals. The spacious dining area is inviting, with stories on the walls that share the history of their dumplings, potstickers, and the franchise’s growth. That said, be prepared for a bit of a wait, as the potstickers are made fresh to order. While the wait time can be longer than expected, the quality of the food makes it worth it!

Yelp
Great from start to finish. Kiosk ordered and found a nice seat in their very clean restaurant. All the food we ordered was delicious. We also liked that there is a place to put your dirty dishes & tray. We can't wait to come back! Pros: * Phenomenal food; recommend their steamed signature dumplings * Clean restaurant & bathrooms * Easy kiosk ordering; great for when you need some time to decide what you want * Quick service Cons: * N/A Extra: * It gets busy * The Kimchi & Pork filling is very strong on the kimchi flavor. * They offer serve yourself condiments including sesame oil, black vinegar, soy sauce, garlic sauce, & spicy sauce. * You clean up after yourself. Just take your tray with trash around the corner toward the bathrooms.

Yelp
I've lost track of the countless times I've dined in and ordered take out from here. Personal favorites: Old fashioned noodles, kimchi potstickers, wonton soup, and mala beef noodle soup. This is a casual restaurant where you order at the counter and receive a buzzer. When your food is ready, the buzzer goes off and you pick up your food at the counter. If you're dining in, you pick your own table and you clear your own table once you're done. There's a counter for returning dirty dishes and trays, and a trash can to dump your trash. All this is located next to the restroom. They have a water dispenser with cups, as well as sauces, all of which is self-serve. Gratuity is not expected since everything is self-served.

Yelp
Bafang Dumpling offers some nice combos that are pretty affordable. The dumplings were alright - nothing exceptional, but tasty enough to finish. The meat dish was good with a nice texture and flavor. The corn chowder is definitely more on the creamy side - may not be for everyone. If you're looking for a quick, affordable bite, it's worth checking out, but don't expect anything mind-blowing. Would come back for the price and the tasty meat! The plaza has plenty of parking and the actual dining area has a good amount of seats. The sauces are self-serve so you can make your own combinations/ratios.

Yelp
This Taiwanese style counter service restaurant specializes in dumplings, potstickers, soups, noodles and other Taiwanese favorites. The restaurant is popular in the LA and Orange County area. This restaurant is the first San Diego area restaurant. It is bright, open and clean on the interior. We loved their variety of combo meals. The potstickers and dumplings are fan favorites. They offer traditional sauces and condiments to go with the dumplings. Their hot and sour soup is very delicious. Their meals were made fresh to order and delicious. We tried their traditional noodles and it was just OK. Instead, I highly recommend their soups, potstickers and dumplings.

Yelp
Decided to give this restaurant a try again. Their Mala Spicy beef noodle Soup and Taiwanese beef noodle Soup is good. We preferred the Mala one because we love the taste of cumin and spice. You can definitely share one bowl with someone and maybe order extra noodles. We ordered two soups and had to pack some to go since there was just so much soup broth. Their chili fried chicken was very juicy and had a decent flavor. Wish it was more on the spicy side. The dipping sauce too sweet for my liking. Service was fairly quick and there were seats available during lunch time on a Saturday. The hype has died down since my first visit. I'll have to come back to give their dry noodles a try again!

Yelp
Got a chance to try Bafang Dumpling after having it bookmarked for a year! The casual dumpling eatery seems to be operating well since their opening back last year. First, I liked the variety of options they had in addition to the combos if you wanted to try multiple items. What intrigued me were their noodles and potstickers. Conveniently, those two were one of their combos offered (#4 on the menu). #4 Signature Potstickers + Signature Noodle (4/5): The potstickers had a nice crunchy layer on the bottom from frying. They do lose crispiness so you want to eat them first. The noodles were mixed with the sauce well and were not that spicy! Soy Wild Mango Drink (4/5): The flavors of the mango are not too strong and combats the greasiness of the food. They gave me extra soy milk on the side, which I was a bit confused about since I thought the whole drink itself had everything mixed in. Wonton Soup (3/5): Very mild and light in flavor. The wontons were small but still had a nice thin wrap. They even have frozen dumplings that you can take home which is an indicator their dumplings are popular. There is a sauce station, however, I felt like my items were flavorful enough and only used their soy sauce. If this was a more convenient area for me, I'd definitely be a regular here.

Yelp
Have had Bafang bookmarked for a while ever since they opened, but I'm not in the area too often. I was finally nearby so decided to stop by for lunch! BEEF NOODLE SOUP: I've heard mixed things about their dumplings, but only good things about the beef noodle soup. Decided to give it a try after seeing it as the number one dish on Yelp too! It seems a bit pricey but the bowl is HUGE! Perfect if you have a big appetite though, I still finished the whole thing. Their noodles were cooked to the perfect texture and the beef was tender. BAFANG SIGNATURE NOODLES: Saw this as the 2nd dish on Yelp's most popular so I decided to grab this to go too. It has a chili pepper next to it on their menu but I didn't really feel like it was that spicy. They had a nice chew to them but did start to feel overly greasy after a while. I think the addition of some veggies would've helped to cut the fattiness. Overall, a decent option for Taiwanese food. There aren't too many options down in San Diego for Taiwanese food so I'm glad to see more places popping up! I'll have to come back to try their dumplings one day since that's what the restaurant is actually named for.

Yelp
I finally got to check out Bafang Dumpling and it did not disappoint! You order at the cash register or on their self-serve kiosk and you pick up your food once it's ready. The restaurant itself is spacious and clean and the cashier was helpful in answering all my questions. I got to try their fried chicken with spicy sauce on the side, old fashion noodles, corn chowder, and soy mango drink. The fried chicken was perfectly crunchy and moist since they use chicken thighs. I mixed all the sauces and dipped the chicken in it and it was seriously so delicious! The noodles were tasty and the corn chowder was fine but the star of the show was the soy mango boba. It was the perfect combination of being creamy and refreshing. I highly recommend you try it! The only downside was that they don't offer the veggie or chicken potstickers and dumplings as part of their combo deals. I definitely wanted to try them so I'll be back and I'll just have to order them a la carte.

Yelp
I was worried the Mala BNS was gonna be too spicy but it wasn't! I thought the noodles were super flavorful which rarely happens anywhere. The broth was also complex and reminded me of my beloved boat noodles. Plenty of beef (fatty tender pieces too), healthy amount of cilantro and pickled veggies, and bok choy. Finally, I decided to also get the potstickers bc my eyes were gleaming with hunger. They're filled with delicious meat and veggies. I found it super yummy to dip it into the broth! I was so full afterwards. Prob didn't need to get the potstickers but it was just too good to skip.

Yelp
Ordered chicken and corn dumplings, and a combo with potstickers and signature noodles. It was okay, wouldn't go out of my way to go back but wouldn't say no to revisiting. I will say it was pretty affordable as both my husband and I are for 20 bucks.

Yelp
Met up with a friend here for lunch back in June. You order at the counter and wait for your order. It's a fast-casual restaurant, so the wait wasn't too bad. They have an area to get sauces, etc. and you can also buy frozen dumplings to go! We shared the signature noodle, spicy wonton, signature potstickers, Bafang pork chop, and some pickled cucumber. Everything we tried was pretty tasty. My favorites were probably the potstickers and noodles. We also got some boba tea, which took a while to get. Overall, a decent place for some dumplings!

Yelp
So happy this opened in Mira mesa! I love potstickers, and thanks to their impeccable preparation and flavors, so does the rest of the family! The dumplings are tender but hold together, the potstickers are crisp on the bottom but not burned, the noodles are thick and tender, and the sauces -- oh the sauces!!! Don't miss the sauce bar! There's something for everyone. Spicy, oily, vinegary, but all tasty! My favorite is probably the sesame oil... it just pairs so well with the signature potstickers. If you're in a rush make sure to order ahead online so it's ready to pickup when you get there... it gets BUSY during meal times. If you come to eat in you can order at a kiosk or get in line at the counter to order in-person. Either way, the wait can be significant. But I will say the wait is worth it, as there's not really anything comparable nearby. It gets crowded inside as well, and a bit loud, but not overwhelming. The floor-to-ceiling windows help make the space feel open and bright. And really, once you get your food you're not going to notice much else! I've been coming regularly since it opened... enjoy!

Yelp
Been here a couple times. Gives Ikea cafeteria vibes, in a simple, charming way. There are kiosks to order at, the prices are very cheap. And the signature potstickers are surprisingly delicious and filling. Almost no service, just order and pickup at the front when ready. Don't need to say a single word to anyone if you're shy. Basically fast food. Wouldn't take a date here, this isn't a suit and tie moment. When you're sick of raising cane's and panda express, give this place a try. you won't regret it
google avatar

Mia L.

Yelp
I love it. I have gone so many times already. First come first serve seating, but definitely prefer people don't save seats as by the time you get your food there should be seating for everyone. I have tried everything so far and it's all good. I like the Pork chop and the Fried chicken as they compliment the noodles very well. The service is usually fast, it's adequate seating for the space. I do like that they have a big long table in the middle for shared table. Don't forget to pump some sauce for a better experience Yummy, love eating here.
google avatar

Kimberley D.

Yelp
They did it again!!! Great food service. Food is always made fresh to order. Always a good experience here. 7:30pm and they had a full house of eat in customers. Nevertheless the restaurant was clean and stocked. Once again, if you haven't tried them out, what are you waiting for??? You won't regret it! Oh yes, and their lemon tea is so thirst quenching!! Don't forget to give it a try.

Yelp
We are so happy that ba fang opened in our neighborhood! The food here is awesome and so delicious! And it's so fast as well. Usually we will order for takeout, but eating in the store is also a great option. My favorites to order are the Taiwanese beef noodle soup, Kimchi, potstickers, the corn soup, and the signature noodles.

Pat R.

Yelp
I have a love-hate relationship with this specific location. Bafang in asia is super fast, but here the wait is always at least 15 minutes even when they are not busy. The indifferent attitude doesnt help. They have moderately expanded their menu with a really good dry beef noodle. Love the food but hate the slow service.

Yelp
I've had Bafang up near LA, but this is my first time at this location. I did try a lot of new items here though. We ordered the Mala Beef Noodle Soup ($16.75), Bafang Pork Chop ($8), #2 Combo ($14) which includes 12 Signature Potstickers and Wonton Soup, and the Bafang Signature Dumplings ($5.75 for 6). They also have a self-serve sauce bar towards the front of the shop where you can get soy sauce, black vinegar, sesame oil, chili sauce, and garlic sauce. My preferred combo for dumplings are soy sauce, black vinegar, and chili sauce. I've had their regular beef noodle soup before, and I actually prefer that over the mala beef noodle soup. I feel like I get more of the beef flavor when it doesn't also have the mala in it. The dumplings and potstickers have the same filling, so it just depends on whether you prefer the steamed or pan fried way. I personally like the potstickers because you get that crispy crust on the bottom. The pork chop was juicy and tender but I don't think it had much flavor to it. You order at the counter first and then they hand you a buzzer to let you know that your order is ready. Then you grab a table and everything is pretty much self serve. The water and sauces are at the front, and if you need take out boxes they just laid them out at the counter for you to grab yourself as well. I arrived at around 11:00am on a Saturday and there was no line. By the time we sat down at a table though there was already a line forming for the lunch rush. Solid place for dumplings, and it's nice that they also have beef noodle soup here. The prices here are decent, and I like that there's a good amount of sauces that you can choose from. Definitely get here early to beat the rush though.

Yelp
Been seeing this place on social media and decided to give it a try. Its located in Mira Mesa, with a pretty decent sized parking lot. The place itself was pretty big with a good amount of seating. It was also pretty clean. There wasn't any outdoor seating but if you walk a little down more you can find some empty spots to sit. Service was pretty good. Staff was super nice and friendly. They were patient and were nice explaining things on the menu. Overall, I had no issues with staff as well. Food was pretty good. And I thought the food was reasonably priced for all the stuff we got. The dumpling were all super flavorful and pretty big. The soup was delicious and warming. The chicken had a nice crisp and flavor. The noodles in my opinion needed just a bit more flavorful but overall I enjoyed it! I do see myself coming back! It's just a little bit of a drive but I think its worth it. I'm hoping they open more locations down south but I highly suggest it!
google avatar

Yelp
Super delicious dumplings and bubble tea...I recommend the Signature potstickers and dumplings, as well as the black tea soy latte with bubbles. There is a simple but adequate sauce bar (sesame, chili, garlic, and soy). Parking isn't the easiest unless you can grab a spot right in front--there are, however, plenty of spaces all around and within a quick walk, as the store is located at an end corner of a major shopping plaza (near Burlington, Marshall's, etc). The atmosphere inside is relaxed and upbeat, the counter service friendly....though a bit slow (it was a busy lunch hour). We will be back to try other items in the menu, especially the noodle soups which looked very tasty.

Yelp
Pretty solid spot for fast casual taiwanese food! My friends and I came here for lunch and I like the variety on their menu. I highly recommend getting their signature dumplings, its very juicy. Their signature potstickers are good too but I personally got tired of eating it after like 4 of those (yknow when you eat too much fried food, tour mouth gets bored?). The fried chicken was tasty but I also got tired of it eventually. I appreciate the Soy Awesome drink, its soy milk with these toppings: egg pudding, grass jelly, red bean and taro (all of my favorite toppings in one drink). Kind of reminds me of Che Ba Mau (vietnamese dessert).
google avatar

Vivan T.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Service is fast, food is hot and fresh. You order and pay at the counter then go find a seat. Sometimes you have to clean a table yourself. I rarely see workers going around to clean during peak lunch time and some other customers leave messes. Potstickers are crispy while dumplings are more juicy which is why we always get both. Recommend the signature flavor and kimchi & pork has a little spice. Corn & chicken is just okay would not get again. Chili wontons are okay. Bafang signature noodles are okay. Tea drinks are okay. Definitely skip the boba--it's flavorless. Better yet, pick up a drink from Sunmerry bakery next door and you'll probably be happier. Parking is plentiful in parking lot but you may have to park farther and walk.

Yelp
New to mira mesa, this spot serves up potstickers and dumplings, soups and boba drinks. I got the combo 1 which comes with 12 pork pot stickers and a soup of your choice (hot and sour soup or corn chowder) i opted for hot and sour soup. The pot stickers were soft and crunchy, soup was piping hot. Everything was delicious theres a condiment section where you can grab soy sauce, garlic sauce, chili sauce, black vinegar and chili oil. This combo was $13-14. The dining area is large and service was basic. Only critique is that they should add low sodium soy sauce as an option for those trying to watch their sodium intake or just prefer less sodium. Also a sweet chili or sauce of some sort would be a good idea.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this spot out and was so happy it was a few mins away from the YEE so made that extra stop. I have not been in this shopping center in a few years so it's nice to see all the new shops. There's plenty of parking. I ordered to go and although I wanted to try everything, I just got: the signature noodles with the pan fried stickers (combo #4)- noodles are nice and chewy. I didn't taste any spice so not sure if it's supposed to be or not. It was simple, added garlic sauce to it which made it stand out better IMO. 4/5 Kimchi & pork dumplings-there's a chili icon so I also think this was supposed to be spicy but I tasted no spice. It was mediocre IMO. It wasn't the best kimchi for me it's something I wouldn't order again. 1/5 Signature potstickers- nice crispy edges on one side and moist on the other. Interior was good (nothing amazing). 3.8/5 Pickled cucumber-nice and thick little chunks. Good portion. Sweet. I was hoping it would be similar to DTF cucumbers or from kbbqs but it wasn't. Still refreshing. I wouldn't order again but not bad. 3.5/5 Four seasons green tea with boba 50% sweet-I could barely taste any sweetness. But I could taste the tea flavor. Nina was nice chewy consistency. I was so happy to see they had boba drinks here but this was ok. I'll try the other flavors next time for sure. 3/5 Overall, this visit was pleasant. Interior is very open and clean. Workers seem to be hard working. Including the cooks in the back. Price point is fair. I was really hoping to love this place and that it would be similar to Din Tai Fung. Which I supposed menu items are almost with a cheaper cost. They packaged the to go meal very neatly. However, the flavors of what I ordered was just so so to me. It was not anything spectacular. I will definitely come back to try the noodle soup because that looked really good. So I'll give them another chance-just didn't think that to-go would taste as good.

Yelp
Around lunch time (late afternoon) the place was nearly empty, with a few exceptions. The ordering process was really easy. We got three orders of Number 6 and instead of the drink we ordered the hot sour soup side with it. By the entrance doors they have the sauce station which is for the most part-- clean. They have the option of a garlic sauce, soy sauce, black vinegar, sesame oil, and a chili sauce. We had the og dumpling which I think is meat and cabbage. The yellowish dumpling has corn in it. And the other one is filled with kimchi. My fav was the corn one. The kimchi one was NOT for me. But if you like kimchi (as is and a bit sour/fermented strongly) ...you'll like it. Overall, yummy and fulfilling. Will come back to try the veggie one. The prices were decent!
google avatar

Ethan W.

Yelp
Counter service spot with modest prices. I got the #1 combo (12 potstickers and corn chowder). The food I tried was just alright. Perfectly serviceable but nothing exceptional. Potstickers are relatively high quality, but not any better than a good set of frozen potstickers from the asian grocery in my opinion. Corn chowder was also just alright. It's got little pieces of ham, mincemeat, and carrots in it. Service is relatively quick and it's an alright place for a quick, affordable meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered for dine in and waited nearly 35 minutes for our food, turns out they packaged it to go and no names were ever called. -1 Lots of parking and lots of seating. Clean restrooms and great prices. Fried pork chop: 2/5, soggy Dumplings: 3.5/5 Oolong milk tea: 1/5, oolong powder mixed with milk

Yelp
Paid by card. Bafang Dumpling is in the same plaza as Sunmerry and offers a lot of plaza parking. I've been here several times, weekdays and weekends, and it's usually busy but the line goes quickly and there are always places to sit. The staff is nice as well. I've tried the wonton soup, signature noodles, mala noodles, potstickers, pork chop, and old fashioned noodles. I like the wonton soup, mala noodles, and potstickers the best. They provide a good portion of noodles so they are very filling. Overall I would recommend this place and would go back.
google avatar

Jen G.

Yelp
It was our first time we ordered to go and it exceeded our expectations. Everything was packaged so beautifully and the dumplings came in individual white boxes & even our noodle soup wasn't over cooked. We got double the amt of dumplings for half the price you'd get at Din Tai Fung. We would have taken more photos but our family ended up devouring it too quickly. Great portions & good prices! Here was our order: -Signature potstickers panfried + Still crispy upon delivery (our favorite) -Signature Dumplings -Corn & chicken dumplings (different and delicious) -Small Wonton soup (super delicious & wonton wrappers were delicate) -Mala beef noodle soup (loved this) surprisingly the noodles weren't soggy
google avatar

Nicole P.

Yelp
Dumplings are ok -- not any better than frozen dumplings from the grocery store. Also couldn't taste a significant difference between the three different fillings. The corn chowder was wholly unappetizing. I love corn but this soup was so overly sweet, and personally the gelatinous texture threw me off. I feel bad if that's how it's supposed to taste, in that case it just isn't for me. I wouldn't order their dumplings or soup again, but am interested in trying the noodles and potstickers.

Yelp
Came here on Sunday around 230pm ish and there were a lot of parking spots and tables available. It's very clean and cute restaurant. The service was quick and food came out fast too. Oolong boba milk tea was ok but it's less than 5 dollars so it's not bad for the price My favorite out of all was bafang noodles. The noodles were chewy and spice was good for me. Wish there was some proteins that came with it. My next favorite was spicy wonton but it's pretty small. But flavor was pretty good Chicken was just ok and so was potstickers.
google avatar

Yelp
Tried this restaurant for the first time, food was good specially veg pizza stickers. Spicy signature noodles were spicy, but I have to add garlic spicy sauce to enhance the flavor. Veg dumpling flavor was ok, but I think it was not too hot like I have tried other places. Location is good, lot of empty parking spots and also they sell frozen dumpling to try at home. It's a self serve, and service is not too bad. Will visit again to try new items from the menu.

Yelp
Pushing my review up to 5 stars. Swung by with my daughter last night and ordered the veggie potstickers and signature noodles for me, and veggie dumplings for my daughter. After placing my order, made a run to BevMo to stock up on supplies, then headed back to Bafang. Our order was ready the moment we walked back through the door -- hot and fresh. My potstickers and noodles were excellent -- worth 5 stars for sure. My daughter really enjoyed her dumplings (she ate them all) and loved sharing my potstickers and noodles. We also enjoyed the garlic and chili sauces. I'll be back again and again -- so glad they have lots of plant-based options.

Yelp
I've been here 2 or 3 times, I usually get Combo #1 with potstickers and hot and sour soup, or Combo #4 with potstickers and their signature noodle. I really like the potstickers, they're always hot, crispy, and flavorful (though a bit oily). The hot and sour soup is also good, though last time it was on the salty side. I tried their signature noodles for the first time and it was delicious, the noodles had a sesame flavor and the sauce was good. The beef noodle soup also looks good when I see other people order it, I'd definitely like to try that next time. It's usually fairly crowded when I go (last time we went was for dinner on a Friday), but the line moves quickly and there's usually open seating. The prices are also very reasonable, especially for the combos. As somebody else mentioned, the machine does not ask for a tip which is very rare/refreshing these days. I would definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try!

Yelp
I ordered combo #4 for the potstickers and noodles. There was almost no wait when I went but it took a while for the food to be ready. The food comes in what looks like to-go containers, which does make it easier to take home if you aren't able to finish it all. The potstickers are crispy and savory and you can mix your own sauces to dip them in. The noodles were a little spicy, but very nice to eat with the potstickers.

Yelp
I think we need more premium quick service ethnic restaurants like this one! Ambiance is simple, white, and clean. You're for the food, not for a dance club environment. Good tasty Taiwanese dumplings that have a delightful crunch at the bottom, but soft and chewy up top, and filled with a lovely blend of pork, cabbage, onion, and gawd knows what else. Not the best dumplings ever, but delicious! The wonton soup was simple, hot and savory, packed with wontons, and satisfying. All this for $14. What's really nice is that when you order, the cashier machine does NOT ask for a tip! What relief in this day in age of overtipping! Granted, there is no service...your order at the counter or table, pick up your own food when your buzzer goes off, and grab your own table and bus your own sauces and water. So it makes sense why there is no tip. For me, that makes this 4 star eatery into a 5 star eatery. (Side Note: I HATE it when food trucks as for tip...there is no service there, nor is there free water or bathrooms!)

Yelp
Well.... We were becoming fans. Until I bit of on a button looking thing while eating their dumplings. Tucked away inside. Could've effed up anyone's teeth or accidentally swallowed.

Yelp
YUUUUUM. Take out combo of the hot and sour soup and the signature dumplings with garlic sauce. So good I could eat five orders of this. Tender, slightly salty, slightly sweet. Rich. Hot and sour soup had the right balance of hot and sour lol. Definitely will order again. Sorry no photos ate it up pretty quickly. I was HUNGRY.

Yelp
Tuesdays: UCSD and SDSU ID holders get 10% off. It is located in the same lot as other really good restaurants and bakery. There will be plenty of parking available. When you walk it, it looks like a mall food court. You can order on a touch screen kiosk to the right or walk straight in and order at the counter. The menu is pretty simple and not too busy. They have plenty of seating for big or small groups. I ordered combo #8 because I wanted the pork chop. The pork chop was well seasoned. The noodle was bland and the noodles were over cooked. There is a sauce station near the exit with the water station, and you can add more of the sauce in the noodles but still felt very mediocre. I also added sesame oil but that didn't make a difference. Not bad but not good. The down fall for this meal this time was that although very thin, the pork was not cooked all the way through for the center pieces. Good thing I was looking while eating. The beef noodle soup was also pretty mediocre. It wasn't bad but wasn't great. They did taste like food court food. Their signature potstickers were also very normal. They were thin and not crispy or super juicy. Once again, they weren't bad but not out of the ordinary. There is an area where you place your empty dishes and trash so make sure to clean after yourself before leaving. This also made it feel like a food court.

Yelp
More of a fast casual restaurant, perfect if you're in the area and craving some tasty Chinese food! They have a nice dining area with plenty of tables, but it can get super packed (at least when I went on a Sunday). I ordered the signature noodles, which was yummy on its own but definitely needed something extra on the side (like dumplings, veggies, etc.). I don't think I adjusted much of the sweetness for my mango drink, which turned out to be way too sweet. I'll come back next time and probably go for 50% sweet or less. Prices are relatively reasonable for the area. Order came out very quickly for me, despite a long queue.

Yelp
If you're looking for a quick dumpling fix this is the spot. The service was fast and efficient even on a busy night. The resteraunt it self is pretty big and lots of places for you to sit. Don't come in here thinking like it's going to be like din tai fung, cause it's not! Definitely will come back when I'm craving dumplings

Yelp
I'm a big fan of fast, casual restaurants. Bafang is a great choice when you want some dumplings and noodles but don't want to go to a sit down restaurant. Food (4/5): I tried the combo #4 which included 6 postickers and the signature noodles. The potstickers were pork and cabbage and while the bottom was crispy, my personal preference is for a thicker skin on dumplings. The signature noodles had a good chew. I didn't finish all the noodles, as it felt fairly oily and a bit one note after while. Service & Ambiance (5/5): Order on a screen and pick up your food when called. The food took a little longer than I had anticipated but not a big deal. Lots of tables. You pick up your own sauces and bus your table. There's a tray return at the back by the restrooms.

Yelp
This place is a bang for your buck! Super affordable dumpling spot. Most combo meals run about 12-$16 depending on what you get. The dumplings were good and well priced but imo not spectacular which is why it's 4/5- however with the price considered it's still great. The soup was good but nothing out of the ordinary. I'd definitely recommend the side order of spicy wontons, they were really good! The teas were also delicious if you want something refreshing! Service was fast and I like that they always have a self order kiosk if you don't want to wait for cashier. This is more so fast dining, the inside is big but this place seems to be packed nonstop around dinner time so it may be best or grab and go!

Yelp
Visited 6/14/2024 Today I was looking through my going to eat here someday San Diego list and decided to give this place a try. I didn't have much faith that it would be much to brag about but you never know. First impression was a Food Court feel but something was different. It was 2:30pm and there was a mass amount of people crowding in the door. Every table was taken and people were watching for anyone to leave. I just had to find out what this place had to offer. It's a fairly large place with lots of seating and lots of parking. The Menu is not super large but enough to choose from. The prices were on point and the serving sizes were good. So far so good. As usual I ordered more than I could eat so I could sample a variety of the menu. I'm glad I did. I ordered, The #4 Combo meal. Signature Potstickers and Signature Noodles. Only $12.75 And The #6 Combo Meal with Bafang Dumpling Bowl and Corn Chowder. Only $13.50 12 Dumplings 4 of each Type. Also a Side Order of The Spicy Wonton's Only $5.50 Everything was so much better than I expected. First this place isn't known as the best Dumpling in SD. But they sell thousands of dumplings and potstickers every day. There were loads of people enjoying the food in the short time I was there today. That says a lot about this place. All I can say is I enjoyed everything I tried and will for sure come back again for more. I recommend giving it a try for less than it costs to eat at McDonalds https://www.bafangdumpling.com/

Yelp
4/27/24. The bottom line is that they serve sensational snacks here. 4/10/24. Signature Potstickers ($11): the top of the noodle was crisped, while the bottom was nice and soft. The prominent flavors came from both the white and green onions. This reminded me of the Ling Ling chicken and veggie potstickers from Costco. Thus, this was a 3.5/5 stars for me. Chili Pepper Fried Chicken ($5.99): this was not spicy, and the batter had a medium thickness with an extra crunch. This seemed to be a Taiwanese version of kaarage chicken, 4/5 stars. Pork Chop ($8): the pork chop was juicy and tender with a light batter. The only knock was that this is a small portion. Nonetheless, this was a perfect pork chop, 5/5 stars! The potstickers took about 45 minutes to be served; however, the cashier apologized and provided a complimentary black iced tea. That thoughtful gesture made the wait bearable :)

Yelp
This was definitely one of the places that I had bookmarked to dine in. I'm always on the lookout for fast, casual restaurants, and I finally got to try this establishment. Bafang Dumpling's first installment in San Diego is situated in Mira Mesa. This place is the place to go to if you're craving Taiwanese dumplings, potstickers, noodles, and soup. Signature Potstickers and Dumpling - There was more cabbage than meat, and these didn't give as much flavor as I'd hoped. Wonton Soup - A simple dish with a flavorful broth. Chili Pepper Fried Chicken - This was just okay. Tip: If you're with someone, have them grab a table while you order since tables fill up quickly. Since we wanted to grab a table quickly, we didn't wait for someone to wipe down the table. I cleaned it myself with some napkins and hand sanitizer that was at the register. Trashcan is located at the back. I saw a lot of ppl who were headed to the front next to the sauce station, thinking there's a trashcan in that area. Since we were sitting nearby, we had to redirect ppl to the back where the trashcan was. Overall, this was an okay experience for me.

Yelp
Tried this place on a Sunday evening at 6pm. It was fairly busy, all the tables were taken but eventually some people got up. You buy your food and then find a seat- it feels more like a takeout restaurant than a sit-down one. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with the dumplings and food in general. I wasn't a huge fan of their dumplings and potstickers. They had some good flavoring in there, but I didn't love the textures of them. The potstickers didn't have a crunchy bottom and the dumplings were a little slimey/soft. Got the hot and sour soup and was also disappointed by this- it doesn't taste like a traditional Chinese hot and sour soup. Not hot or sour. My favorite dishes were the noodle dishes! If it weren't for the noodles I probably would've rated this place lower. The old fashioned noodles were soo yummy and tasty. The noodles are nice and chewy and flavoring is perfect. The pork chops are also good so if you get anything I would get the noodles and pork chops! I was also impressed by the soy wild mango drink. It tastes like a mango sago drink.

Yelp
Total value for money here. Can't on a spontaneous anniversary dinner date because we had a last-minute change of plans. On a Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. and the place was still full! We've seen a line at this place ever since it opened and I can totally see why! Got the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup - REALLY DELICIOUS. It was hot and steamy but not piping hot where you can't drink it at all. The perfect hot temperature where you can slurp it down and actually enjoy the soup. Good amount of beef in there as well and the beef was very soft and flavorful on its own too. Appreciate that there was bok choy and definitely appreciate the volume! This was a really big bowl and a good one to split between two as well and try some other options on the menu. Bafang Special Dumplings (pork and cabbage) had quite a nice flavor. I was A little confused and thought it might be the kimchi and pork dumplings but these were different. It didn't have that kimchi tanginess. Also went really well with the garlic sauce. Veggie Potstickers - They had a nice flavor but I would have prefer the dumplings because these were a little too oily. Like I could see the amount of oil in the container and on the potstickers as well. And gave me a little bit of an uneasy feeling.

Yelp
Bafang is a great place to visit for a simple meal! I ordered the Signature Potsticker + Signature Noodle combo (only $12.75). It's a great value deal, though I would love if they had options on the menu to add meat / vegetables on top or on the side since the noodles are pretty simple. The noodles were a little bit salty but my friend said that other times they've come it was okay, so maybe it depends on who's working. Potsticker portions are pretty generous with 6 large potstickers and were tasty. There's a large free parking lot outside and plenty of seating inside, but when it gets busy it may be harder to get seats for a larger group. It's a good spot to come hang out with your family or catch up with a friend!
