Bagatelle saved our Thanksgiving Day! When our reservation at another restaurant was cancelled at the last minute due to the restaurant's poor communication, we were left with nowhere to go for Thanksgiving dinner.
Since we had a reservation at Bagatelle for the following night, my husband quickly called the restaurant to see if they were able to move our reservation up by one day. The restaurant was able to accommodate us, but we would have to eat a bit earlier, which we did not mind.
After a full day of traveling, we just wanted to enjoy a nice, hot meal, and thanks to Bagatelle, we were able to do just that.
We started off dinner with a couple of glasses of wines and an order of pan charred brussels sprouts with bacon. The brussels sprouts were all right.
Then, for our mains, I had the swordfish, the "Key West Master Chef Award winning dish," while my husband had the Thanksgiving Day Special, which included turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. The portions of both entrees were huge, but this was our first meal of the day, so we devoured everything. I really enjoyed my Swordfish, it was surprisingly soft, and the texture of the risotto was cooked to the perfect consistency.
After cleaning our plates, our server brought out a slice of key lime pie for us, mistaking it for one of our birthdays. We told her it wasn't either our birthdays. Upon realizing her mistake, she offered the slice of key lime pie on the house, but if we did not want to eat it, it was okay too.
My husband and I appreciated the gesture, so we kept the pie. It was delicious and the perfect welcome to Key West.
