Nice muglai restaurant in mumbai, near gateway of india and behind Taj hotel. This place services nice veg and non veg dishes. We tried the various food like, Nihari Nalli, chicken crispy, mutton dabba gosht, chicken masala, roti. Specially liked the mutton boneless dish, which was cooked for a long time, so it was juicy, moist and had a shuttle taste. It’s a big roti, difficult to finish 02. The deserts we tried Fernni, rabbdi and Custer was good. Be prepared for sharing the table, since space is limited. They only prefer cash, but in emergency they accept digital payment. They don’t allow to charge the mobile in the restaurant, so carry your battery banks.

The flavors are rich, consistent, and worth coming back for. It’s one of those places where the taste truly lives up to the hype. Ambience & Renovation (Personal Opinion) In my personal opinion, the restaurant could really benefit from a renovation. The place feels a bit dated, and a refresh would greatly enhance the dining experience without taking away from its old-school charm. Final Verdict Bagdadi is a must-visit for its excellent food and prime Colaba location. Despite the waiting time and the need for renovation, the taste and authenticity make it well worth the experience—especially for those who don’t mind a little wait for good food.

Visiting this establishment after almost 25 years felt like a step back in time, it has still preserved its old world charm. However, the culinary quality seems to have dipped over the years, perhaps a byproduct of mass production as a result of becoming a tourist landmark with the hype. They have still kept the pricing quite reasonable. Be prepared for long queues and shared seating. While the iconic Baghdadi roti still remains the star of the show, go for the atmosphere rather than a gourmet experience.

We visited Baghdadi Restaurant—an old-style gem! The food was absolutely tasty. The atmosphere was great, though it was quite crowded. We waited around 10 minutes for our turn—wait times vary with the crowd. We ordered Baghdadi Tandoori roti, chicken khara masala, and buff bhuna—all delicious! Plus, the prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit!

Bagdadi Restaurant in Mumbai offers a classic, no-frills biryani experience. I ordered the buff biryani, Bagdadi chicken biryani, chicken fry masala, and roti. Both biryanis had unique and distinct flavors, with the buff biryani being my clear favorite—it was richer, well-spiced, and came with a generous amount of meat pieces. The chicken biryani was decent, but the chicken fry masala didn’t really impress and fell short compared to the biryanis. The meal truly ends on a high note with the customary thumbs up after the biryani, which is a must. Overall, a good spot for biryani lovers, especially if you’re opting for buff.

One of the best places for late night cravings, near the iconic Taj hotel and gateway of India. This place is decades old serving famous non vegetarian delicacies. The restaurant doesn’t have a fine dining area, instead a very traditional seating area. Their bhuna masala and chicken biryani are the top selling items. Customers can enjoy soft drinks in glass bottles that are rare to find anywhere. I tried their hose special chicken thigh masala. I’d recommend chicken biryani, chicken bhuna and masala thigh along with tandoori roti. Their mutton Nihari is also a delicacy to enjoy as late night foods.

I went on a weekend and it was super crowded. Even though the line was long the service and management was quick. The food on the other hand was not how I expected. I've eaten a take away from here which was very good in taste but this in person experience was a little let down..maybe because of the dinner rush. I ordered Nalli Nihari, Dabba gosht, chicken leg piece fry. Food was okish. A little bland. Service was quick. Maybe I'll visit again to give the food one more try cuz I liked the dabba gosht I had before.

We loved Bagdadi and have been coming here for years now. Went yesterday after a while and their food still is damn good. They have renovated the space so it also looks much cleaner than it used to be. The chicken chilli was a lovely flavourful gravy but the mutton dabba gosht was the hero of the night. It's SO tasty, pairs perfectly with their naan. But it's only available on holiday special days apparantly so I keep that in mind. I tried the chicken boti kebabs but it was too dry. The caramel custard was nice though. Can't wait to go back here again.
