Best Bagels in New York City, According to Eater Editors | Eater NY

"This small chain of New York bagel shops in Brooklyn and Manhattan turns out bagels with lots of chew, perfect for an egg and cheese sandwich or good enough on their own. Breakfast sandwiches are available in myriad forms, including those with turkey bacon, asparagus, and chipotle-bacon cream cheese. Expect a line that goes out the door on weekends, with a selection of inventive bagels — egg everything, pumpernickel everything — visible in a row of stainless steel baskets, that is regularly replenished." - Robert Sietsema

Bagel Pub - Review - Crown Heights - New York - The Infatuation

"A trip to Bagel Pub on a Saturday morning is a Crown Heights rite of passage, and the crowd, discussing their Friday nights at the tables outside, or waiting in a line just to get through the door, can be overwhelming. Inside, the folks behind the counter are simultaneously slicing bagels and taking names, patrons stand in two separate lines glued to their phones, and an Ariana Grande song from 2010 will probably be blasting from the sound system. But once you taste the thick bagels, you’ll thank yourself for pushing through. Exceptional spread options like za’atar cream cheese aside, the airy bagels from this Brooklyn mini-chain will bring you more joy than at least two or three of your current friendships. And even though it gets busy, the bagels typically come out nice and hot. photo credit: Kate Previte" - Willa Moore

Owner and Manager of Grimaldi’s Pizzeria Charged With Wage Theft - Eater NY

"Locals are at odds with Bagel Pub over its leftover food. Ted Rao, a social security and disabilities lawyer, has been digging through the bagel shop’s trash at its Crown Heights location to collect and redistribute what he views as 'perfectly good' bagels, the New York Post reports. Chris Kotsis, manager of the shop, doesn’t like that: He says he’s been ticketed three times because of Rao. To stop the bagels from being collected, he’s allegedly been mixing them with wet food scraps and cleaning chemicals in his trash." - Luke Fortney

Sandwiches and wraps ordered at the counter further away from the main entrance. At the closer counter, one orders smoothies and blended or pressed juices. Clean bathroom with wallpaper imprinted with sights from Brooklyn. Bottled and can refreshments from a reach-in refrigerator. Al fresco seating is available.

Giving a 2 stars because it’s noted not to put tomatoes on a salad due to ALLERGIES n yet!!! They still did! Utensils r even put in the order (non in bag) no napkins, no sauce. Food leaking. So literally no way to eat the food. Woulda took it back but unfortunately they woulda been closed by the time I made back over I regularly love getting food here for weekend brunches. Ignoring instructions - already bad service (n I don’t just say as a disgruntled customer, but a fellow worker in the food industry). Ignoring allergy notes is deplorable!

Google
Enjoyed a pumpernickel everything with garlic and herb cream cheese. The cream cheese was great and the bagel was good though I had wished it had been toasted a bit less. Also had a vanilla iced coffee which was fine overall though had a weird aftertaste. It was a relatively quick experience so I would visit again.

Visited this location 3 times. Bagels are excellent and not to mention the coffee and healthy juices. Lots of different cream cheeses to choose from. All delicious.

Google
I wish I could do a 4.7… Bagel Pub is the only time I eat a bagel. House made products from bagels to the smoothies. Gluten free options! My only thing is way too much cream cheese for me. Might be great for others, but too much for me. If you don’t like cream cheese, ask for less. Otherwise! This place is great! Excellent breakfast or brunch. Employees are kind. Extremely busy, but there are tables outside. I ordered Fresh Lox #4 w/o jalapeños on a garlic bagel. Peanut butter banana smoothie. Soooo good!

Google
Amazing bagels! Of all the most popular bagel spots in the 5 boroughs I put bagel pub among the best of best! Amazing selection of delicious cream cheeses! Go!

Google
The overall experience was enjoyable. However, the setup for ordering a hot beverage was a bit confusing. The two lines—one for bagels and one for coffee—could use better organization. That said, the plain bagel with cream cheese was excellent. It had just the right amount of cream cheese, making it easy to eat without being messy—a genuinely pleasant eating experience. The regular coffee was also solid—smooth, not burnt, and satisfying. Seating was readily available, and it was easy to find space for a group. I’d definitely come back.

Google
Their BEC bagel is excellent, one of the best I’ve had! The bacon & eggs were cooked perfectly. Easily the best bagels I’ve had in this area! Really nice chew, seeds on both sides, great flavor. Their smoothies are great too! Music is way too loud for my liking, so I usually get food to go. But the outdoor seating is great when the weather’s nice. I’d definitely come by more often if the music was a bit quieter & less inside!

Yelp
Busy but worth it! The juices are freshly made! First day I got the Wake Me Up and it did exactly that, I needed something fresh that would give me the nutrients I needed in the morning. I also got an Everything bagel with eggs, cheese and sausage and the combo was delicious! Melted cheese as I always prefer! Second day I got Green Machine and Whole Wheat bagel with egg, sausage, cheese! Again melted beautifully and toasted warm! The place had a cozy ambiance if you want to study or have a quick energy meal or even a casual date!

Yelp
I'm no native New Yorker-bagel connoisseur. HOWEVER- this was probably the most delicious bagel of my life. Bagel Pub has so many options from cream cheese to toppings... Good luck making your dream bagel, it's hard to choose! I went for the standard lox combo on their pre-fix menu of bagel combos to try. Man oh man, was it HUGE. These bagels were great portions, excellent in flavor, and fresh ingredients. They also had a good range of tea, coffee, and smoothies too. Lovely places to sit outside and take in the morning scenery. Wish I could have made a second stop in my trip!

Yelp
The best chicken sandwich in the area, it's a little pricey but they don't skimp on anything. Bagels are also fire !

Yelp
I'm a fan of this place after being here a few times. They have a solid selection of cream cheeses and bagels. Service is friendly and efficient. I've never had an Everything Pumpernickel Bagel before visiting this place. If you're even the least bit interested in it.... don't think just order it. My most recent order included Everything Pumpernickel Bagels with scallion and veggie cream cheese as well as honey walnut cream cheese. Their strawberry cream cheese is also solid.

Yelp
This was a cute little place we came to while waiting for the Brooklyn Library to open. It seemed to be very popular as there was a steady stream of people coming in and out. Customer service was decent. They all just seemed in a zone, which is understandable when it's a consistent rush. I was most amazed by the number of different cream cheeses they had. I've never seen anything like it. I decided on a bagel with olive & pimento cream cheese and it was absolutely delicious!!!! My friend got an omelette on a bagel and it was massive!! I also tried the watermelon lemonade. It looked pretty, but i didn't really enjoy it. There is one restroom, which requires a code to use. Between the workers and patrons, the wait was pretty long! Beware if you gotta go! Overall a great place with lots of options!! From hot food, to cold, to bakery, to teas/coffees/lemonades...there's something for everyone here.

Yelp
I really wanted a breakfast bagel... but i also was really in the mood for lunch sandwich... so I decided to try and morph them into one and voila! This happened. I didn't even ask for cucumber but they added it in and im not mad about it. It was totally missing cucumber I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it myself! This place is busy yes but they move really quick to get all the orders ready. The chai was also very good, if you like it sweet. Ambiance: casual Would i eat here again: yes

Yelp
I've been to the Bagel Pub a number of times now. Not wowed by the bagels, but good enough to come back. I like how they have pumpernickel and egg everything bagels, and different varieties of tofu cream cheese. The bagel texture is just okay though, needs a better crust, but is decently fluffy and sizable. Correct amount of shmear! Good coffee, cute places to sit both inside and outside.

Yelp
Coming here on a weekend morning is a hellish circus and gives me anxiety. Ordering online doesn't help much either. But they offer pumpernickel bagel and vegan cream cheese which are two thing that I have never been blessed with in my life, so I suffer through it. I was scared of the tofu cream cheese before tasting it. I've had grocery store tofu cream cheese before, and it tasted like straight liquid plastic. The tofu cream cheese here is actually enjoyable. It not trying to be dairy cream cheese at all. The tofu flavor is mild and I'm glad I don't have to miss out. They really pack on the topics here. So much so, that you're left with gobs of insides when you're bagel is all gone. I honestly would prefer less so that I could get a decent bagel-to-inside-ratio in each bite. But on the flip side, you'll leave full. They give more salmon on less busy weekdays (see pics), or so it seems ‍ I'll keep coming back (and leaving with a cucumber juice)

Yelp
One of the best bagels I've had in the city! I had previously checked out another location in Manhattan, but this one is so much better! I don't know if it's due to coming in off peak and not during the morning rush, but this bagel was so much more seasoned and warm! Glad I gave Bagel Pub another shot!

Yelp
I'm not from New York, but my friend who has lived in New York for 4 years recommended this as her favorite bagel spot. The cream cheese selection was pretty amazing. Bagels were sooo good. Bagel to filling proportion was perfect!
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
Solid. I visited twice. Bagels were significantly better and fresher the second time. So many schmear options it's crazy! Both savory and sweet options are delicious. The blueberry bagel is an ideal staple. The lox cream cheese was so good especially with a fun bagel like poppyseed or everything. Nice upstairs searing area that had plenty of room for our group of seven both visits. Be ready to order as soon as you approach the counter or move out of the way. The workers don't take kindly to indecision.

Yelp
Love this place! The banana coffee is my absolute favorite. Bagel sandwiches are always amazing as well. Wish there was a location in Astoria!

Yelp
Never had a bad experience so far thankfully ! Food is always good and deliveries are always exactly as the order notes requested !

Yelp
Everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. I'll become a regular here in no time, great bagels with the right amount of grains, awesome cream cheese with the right consistency and awesome portion of scallions. Delicious and refreshing smoothies, fast service and nice sit down vibes.

Yelp
i only tried two bagel places on my trip but bagel pub was my favorite! the bagels are huge with a thicker exterior and soft and chewy on the inside. i went with the blueberry bagel and strawberry cream cheese. the cream cheeses in their were beautiful. piled high with toppings mixed in and loaded on top. my bagel was amazing and the cream cheese was delicious with chopped up strawberries in it. my sister got a plain bagel with pumpkin cream cheese (which i tried and was good). they were ready in under 5 minutes which was nice. next time i come i want to try some of their desserts they looked amazing behind the case.

Yelp
Solid, bagel/sandwich place, reasonably priced considering the portion sizes, and with a very extensive menu that covers pretty much anything you may want, from breakfast to lunch and everything in between, including tons of vegetarian options. I particularly appreciate the fact that a panini/sandwich with a side salad is large enough to last me 2 meals. I also like the large selection of smoothies, always made fresh and delicious. The Hulk smoothie (kale, pineapple, mango, spinach, banana and coconut water) is perhaps my personal favorite. Yes, it's true -as you can read in many reviews- that wait time can be long, butt this place is always busy. If you come in person, be prepared to wait ~10 minutes for your order. If you order online, add 30' to the expected delivery time. And you can always place your order over the phone ahead of time.

Yelp
Was just looking for a bagel and coffee... But wound up getting an ABC and egg bagel. And an EXCELLENT cup of coffee. ABC stands for Avocado Bacon and Cheddar and egg. Makes a NICE change from a regular bagel. The bagel was fresh and BROOKLYN sized. The bacon and egg were cooked to perfection and the avocado was like butter. The coffee was fresh and the perfect strength to let you know you ACTUALLY had a cup of coffee.

Billy J.

Yelp
Delicious bagels, fairly quick service, fresh squeezed orange juice! Large number of choices for bagel spreads. Chai latte is very sweet. Will definitely come again. Ample seating between the indoor and outdoor tables when the weather is nice. Single gender neutral bathroom was clean.

Yelp
Once again, I've come to bagel pub for my bagel fix. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with mixed berry cream cheese and LOVED the fresh pieces of strawberries and blueberries in the cream cheese. This time the guy taking my order misheard me; he thought I said American cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel ‍ but it was fine! As soon as I got to the register I realized the order was taken down wrong and the gal helping me check out rushed back down the line to correct my order. Love the vibes here and the bagels never disappoint!
google avatar

Charisse S.

Yelp
I do like the bagel selection here, and their chai is one of my faves. However, the service is inconsistent at its best. Too often it's just poor and not efficient. The pricing is off the charts. $4 for a toasted egg everything bagel with cream cheese. I ordered a bagel today which I thought was taking a very long time. Checked on it once, and the barista looked in the direction towards the back but didn't really check. I decided to stand towards the front near the register instead of hanging back. Someone asked me again what my order was then simply walked to the back and gave me my order. This means that it had most likely been ready for a while but was waiting to be collected. Had I not insisted on standing somewhere clearly visible, then I probably would still be waiting. I wasn't even there at what one would consider a peak time. I had popped in around a quarter to 11am. Won't be going back anytime soon. There's a lot of options for bagels on that strip.
google avatar

Yelp
This is definitely one of my top bagel spots in New York considering both serving and price. I went with 2 bagels - 1 white fish, and the other lox with onions, cream cheese, and tomato. They cost me around $13-$15 each and were very generous in size and ingredients. I've had some comparable bagels in other spots in the city that have made me bleed $20-25 out of my wallet for 1, so I was actually very satisfied with Bagel Pub. As for portion sizes, I normally eat a lot and I wasn't able to finish the Lox bagel in 1 sitting and saved some for later. In fact, my paper bag broke walking on the way home! Fortunately they were wrapped well and kept safe. Glad to see there are other locations too. The fish was delicious, the cream cheese was heavy, what more can you ask for?
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
Bagel Pub has a few locations, all in Brooklyn. It has one in Crown Heights. Lots of bagels as well as toppings. Also a popular place to get coffee. The bagels are of course the main thing for sure. I like to get a sesame bagel. So many cream cheese flavors including the tofu spreads. These are vegan. A healthier alternative. Orthodox Jews also have a dairy substitute they aren't mixing with meat too. It has regular tofu spread flavor. They also have it with chopped scallions. It's $4.25 for a bagel with cream cheese. They put a lot on. Check it out on Franklin Avenue. It can have pretty long lines. They aren't so bad early on the weekends.

Yelp
Located on the corner of Franklin Ave and St Johns is a busy bagel spot that is great for a order and go experience with some limited outdoor seating options which I will comment on later in the review. Recommended and loved by locals (at least the ones we know), we stopped by early Saturday morning. There was a constant flow of customers lining up to order as well as those who pre-ordered on their phone (a great option!) Their menu was pretty extensive so please check it out before getting in line because they have a process! First step in and place an order for food at the marketplace counter. I happened to browse Yelp and found this impressive picture of The Italian Sandwich (which was not on the menu) that looked amazing. When I ordered, the lady at tue counter had no idea what it was so I was going to give up and go back to the drawing board but she pulled one of the chefs to ask if they knew what I was asking for. He did! So she wrote up my order and handed me a carbon copy of it to line up and pay at the cash register. This is where you order your drinks. I ordered non-sweet black tea and she gave me black coffee. I don't blame her since speaking through a mask can be hard to understand. When I clarified she quickly replaced my drink. We waited for our orders and man I did not except the hefty sandwich I was handed. The bun (roll) could barely contain its contains. Loaded, and I mean loaded with (top to bottom) Tomatoes, Lettuce, Provolone, Ham, Soppressata, Sweet Capocollo, red bell peppers. I cannot tell you how big that thing was. One bite and the meat stack threatened to pop out of the bun. The red bell peppers on the bottom bun was flavored and added a new blast of flavor to the otherwise meaty sandwich. This was actually different than what the OG helper had posited since the only veggies they had was arugula. Outside seating: a few tables are available and you can easily pull tables together to form seating for bigger groups. One warning: while we were there, a very angry man walked by and started to cuss out people who were eating there. A local told us that he's harmless and just to not engage. He did however walk up to every table to give them an earful of cussing and spoke a language I did not understand. But it felt really intense and there was a lot of spitting as he shouted. He scared off a wave of diners and walked off but later came back. This is absolutely outside of the restaurants control and not their fault but thought I should warn you that this may happen if you chill outside at this location. Overall, my friends were happy with their bagels and I with my enormous sandwich.
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
Got a bagel sandwich the the wake me up drink! The portion is very big and I split the bagel with a friend. The wake me up drink had a strong ginger flavor, but i liked it because it tasted like a health drink. Seating is a little hard to find, but we didn't wait long to get a spot since people go in and out pretty fast.

Yelp
Ordered via Chownow for pick up...very simple and straight forward order....Lox #2 sandwich with tofu cream cheese on the side and pancakes. I get there and they proceed to tell me that the order isn't ready. Ok...no worries...it's Sunday and it's busy...I get it even though it's a simple order...I get it. I worked hospitality/service industry for decades...I totally understand. So I'm waiting and waiting...at least 3 people said my order was coming up next...and we all know how that goes...it doesn't come next. Finally get my order and get back home and it's completely wrong. Like not even a simple mistake...the entire thing was wrong. How in the hell do you put bacon instead of lox on a bagel and then add at least an inch thick of regular cream cheese and avocado on there? Did you not read the order? What they did get right is the tofu cream cheese on the side. It took 5 times to call them for someone to answer and when they did I was told I wouldn't receive a refund but instead I could get a store credit. Really? A store credit to a place I'm not coming back to. I basically burned $20 and didn't eat. This isn't the first time this has happened either. I keep giving this place chances and they just continue to screw up.

Fog L.

Yelp
I struggle with ordering from this place. In fairness their items are typically good, worthy of 3-4 stars but their service is really lacking. About half the time I order from this location something is missing or wrong. Weekends are a test on your patience...it took 2 hours for my delivery which is about 8 blocks from the restaurant. When the order arrived, the dressing for the salad had spilled all over everything inside (not sure how being that it was still wrapped in about 10 feet of plastic), and there was an item missing. They did resend the missing item but this is a pretty typical occurrence. Their location on 7th Ave is generally better in terms of accuracy and delivers in Crown heights so I'd suggest trying that location but expect a long wait and order early. It's too bad this place used to be much better
google avatar

Cathy K.

Yelp
Walk in, get in line to the left from designated entrance. Easiest to scan the menu on the wall with your phone. It was my first time at this location, you can just make your own bagel, I was under the impression that they have special sandwiches but couldn't find it. You get your order taken by staff and they hand you a receipt to take to the counter. You order drinks or coffee at the register. I ended up waiting 10-15 minutes because someone left my bagel in the corner of the back counter and someone must have forgotten to bring it up. About 10-15 people who ordered after me got their orders first. Thankfully the lady taking orders noticed me standing around after everyone around me left. When I got home 5 minutes later, bagel was completely cold had to microwave it. My bagel was great and iced banana latte has been a long-standing favorite but this was not a good experience. Hoping it's better next time
google avatar

Devinya R.

Yelp
Always fresh and delicious. We usually get the bacon, egg and cheese on any of the bagels because they're all good! There's a bit of a wait during the weekend, but totally worth it! They also have fresh juices!
google avatar

Jimmy S.

Yelp
An absolute catastrophe of mismanagement and lies. In this place, your order is ALWAYS right around the corner -- this is a lie. Be prepared to wait 35 min + on a busy day for a middling BEC. They only get away with it because there are no real bagel spots near by.
google avatar

Lady B.

Yelp
This is my go to spot for YEARS! I don't care if I had to stand on line for an hour it WAS WORTH IT every single time. One of the BEST BAGEL SPOTS in Brooklyn UNTIL TODAY!!!! Ordered my usual egg white (well done) with cheddar cheese and bacon on a toasted sesame seed bagel. WELL, not only was my bagel NOT TOASTED. I found it EXTRA CRUNCHY TODAY. Just to discover what I was chomping on WAS NOT SEASME SEEDS IT WAS HALF A SHELL FROM THE DAMN EGG!!! Im so UPSET and DISGUSTED. A little tiny piece of shell.. sure.:. I understand BUT HALF A SHELL!!!!!! COME ON REALLY?!? I STILL LOVE YOU GUYS BUT I want a refund and next time I come back, I will make sure to check my sandwich before I leave. NOT COOL DUDES!
google avatar

Natalie H.

Yelp
The cream cheeses were very seasoned and delicious, and there were so many to choose from. I tried the garlic and herb cream cheese on an everything bagel, and it was amazing. The latte and. coffee were not great though, so I would stick with the bagels.
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
This place is like the baskin robbins of bagel shops. There's so many options I really don't see how you can go wrong here. Went midday on a weekday so there wasn't a long line. I got the chicken salad which was really good BUT I spoke to some other customers and got some tips on taking a fire bagel. Many people will order a classic like BEC and add something like their chipotle or jalapeño cream cheese . Or you can create your own bagel but I think the key to this place is including one of their delicious cream cheeses to it always . I'm going back for sure to try something different very soon
google avatar

Alex P.

Yelp
Had Bagel Pub deliver while I was visiting family in Brooklyn. It is a restaurant my family orders from frequently. I ordered the Pub salad, added grilled chicken. I was very pleased with the taste of the salad/dressing, lots of toppings and they put on a good amount of chicken. To drink we both got lemonade because my sister insisted. It was delicious and hit the spot!

Lisa T.

Yelp
It's a nice place I like the display of the cream cheese is the meats looks pretty good I'm going to try to call if you want to my bagel was all right. I should've just got the cream cheese and add it the locks to it so much creatine that's all I taste it like bits of luxe, but it wasn't bad atmosphere was nice to hang out. It drink a cuppa coffee and have a bagel bagel a slam it fresh. I will go back again.
google avatar

Wesleyan T.

Yelp
Cappuccino was meh. Literally my thought when I drank it. Wouldn't come back for the coffee at all. The BEC was decent, nothing crazy
google avatar

Ting Z.

Yelp
The egg everything bagels are definitely my favorite, I find them more visually appealing and fluffy than the regular bagels. I had the lox #2 sandwich and although I didn't find the lox particularly noteworthy, I appreciate that they don't skimp on the ingredients and gave plenty of lox, cream cheese, avocado, etc.
google avatar

Elaine S.

Yelp
Bagel pub was really good. I came here 2x during my stay in Brooklyn and I ordered the #1 and #2 lox sandwiches. The biggest difference was the avocado imo. The lox was plentiful and fresh. I haven't had many authentic nyc bagels so the amount of lox was a tad overwhelming for me but still delicious. I would recommend if you're in the mood for ample amounts of fish. Portions are huge. I only ate half for breakfast and the other half for lunch. There's outdoor seating to enjoy your bagel and people watch.
google avatar

Alan W.

Yelp
I do really like the bagels here, and I like the idea of mixing and matching different flavors and creating new custom combos. However of the last 3 times I ordered here, they got my order wrong 3 times. I just ordered an everything bagel with cinnamon walnut cream cheese, I got home and unwrapped my order to discover a cinnamon raisin bagel with cinnamon walnut cream cheese. I ordered online so there was no mishearing me. It's like if you order anything out of the ordinary the chefs look at your order, say "this must have been a mistake" and give you whatever they want. This has happened to me 3 times in a row now.
google avatar

Cheyenne T.

Yelp
Huge spot to sit and enjoy a bagel and coffee. However, it is quite pricey for this neighborhood. It gets very packed on warm days out. The bagels aren't out of this world, it's alright and reliable. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at this place. However I do enjoy their chia lattes.
google avatar

tien n.

Yelp
very slow and disorganized service. separate counters for bagels vs smoothies so i ordered from each counter. yet someone who ordered a bagel after me had her smoothie prioritized b/f mine.
google avatar

Johnny H.

Yelp
The bagels are okay, nothing spectacular. But what irked your pal Johnny so much was the manner in which this establishment causes the customer to make a great mess. An airflow blowing with the force of a thousand portable fans makes it impossible to set down your bagel on a table without the cheap and hopelessly flimsy wrapping papers barreling into your face and shooting off your table like a leaf blown to hell and back on a blustery autumn day. And the cheap packaging also extends to the coffee (acrid and not very good, by the way), with lids so flimsy that droplets of coffee are insecure, flailing in all directions like blood and spittle from two welters duking it out in a boxing arena. Your pal wouldn't have said a damned thing, but your pal has just started a new reading hobby to replace his former drug habit. His fresh brand new copy of Dale Carnegie's HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE is now bedeviled and pocked with coffee stains that are the size of birthmarks, birthmarks that can be found on the abdomen and derriere of his lover in Newport News, Virginia. While the parallels between carnal bliss and reading are welcome, the stained tome is not. Your pal Johnny does strive to be relatively neat. And this noble ideal is an impossibility at the Bagel Pub, which seems designed to turn all customers into disheveled slobs through no fault of their own while permanently staining their meager possessions. This is no goddamned way to run a business. Invest in durable packaging, you cheapskates! You are needlessly burdening lives with coffee-blanched battle scars and unanticipated cream cheese bullets from flailing wrappers, Bagel Pub! Do better!

Yelp
Excellent - I love that they have multiple types of vegan cream cheese! I got a whole wheat everything bagel with tofu scallion cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and avocado. I also love getting a pumpernickel everything bagel with all of the above. They really layer on the cream cheese (more than other Brooklyn places I've tried) and it is absolutely delicious. I come here once a week and always look forward to the next visit!

Yelp
My partner and I used to come quite a bit. However, we recently ordered online and when we received the order, half of it was missing. When we reached out, they implied that the delivery person removed it from the bag and refused to reimburse us. I resent that they blamed the delivery person (especially when we received the order, it was stapled shut). While I like the bagels, if you have issues, there is no recourse (beware to anyone ordering online!). And I don't think it speaks well to the character of the business when they falsely accuse the delivery person. It seems to me they simply forgot half the order, but don't want to own up to it. It doesn't seem worth the trouble anymore and this is New York; there are always other bagel places with better attitudes. We will be going elsewhere.

Yelp
I will not be going to this place again. I have been here frequently and the service is worse than last time. The employees are always having personal conversations with each other instead of waiting on the customers. While the bagels are good is not enough to to keep going back and experiencing waiting to get someone to take my order. I understand the time when there is a lot of people ordering, but when an the first of 3 people and you have atleast a dozen employees working, I shouldn't have to wait close to 5 min to place my order. The employees will looked you right in the face as they ignore you to go have a personal conversations with another employee. Every employee needs to be retrained on customer service. If I could give this place ZERO rating I would. That's how bad my experience has been everytime I visited.

Yelp
Not so sure about this place anymore. I visit at lease once a week and the staff is generally pretty rude. Plus they are now very , very overpriced-- $11 for a bagel with cream cheese and bacon.

Yelp
I keep trying to like this place. But just opened my French toast and right on top was a black hair, found another broken off hair, and another long strand....completely disgusting

Yelp
What else is there to say about this local legend... these are the best bagels myself, or any of the countless friends/visitors I bring over have ever had. Hands down the best.. Tons of varieties of cream cheese if your into that, even vegan options. The bagels are just so damn fresh everyday. Well that's cause they're made on site in the morning! They also make tons of sandwiches, salads, and juices as well so they got the entire morning covered I've been coming here for years and the quality of the bagels is extremely consistent. I saw a review that someone got a little less CC and think this place is 1 star. What a joke. If you want some high quality bagels, stop reading this and go to the counter asap

Yelp
Sorry the people making negative reviews on here seem to be just bitter about the wait times. Good things take time. Stop being babies. Especially when the smears look like this (see picture below). I've tasted every single bagel shop In Manhatten, this is hands down the best tasting bagel in NYC. They get all the consistencies right - not too chewy, crisp on the outside but not too crisp that it zaps the flavor, and their smear options are insane and taste the best - oh and they don't skimp. Check this place out if you're in Brooklyn ever. It's worth the wait, and if you need any further proof that I know what I'm talking about, just look again at this lox scallion spread. You won't see anything like it anywhere else in the world.
