Where to Find the Best Bagels in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Bagelicious has been serving up deli classics for over 30 years now. And for many New York transplants, the food and bagels are a taste of home. There are plenty of fresh bagels to choose from at Bagelicious topped with lox, whitefish salad, tomatoes and onions, and caper and scallion schmear. Don’t expect to find fancy bagel flavors. Bagelicious keeps it old school. Make sure to also try the knishes, matzah ball soup, and meaty pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, too. Kosher items available." - Beth McKibben

Bagelicious Is a New York-Style Jewish Deli in the Heart of Marietta, Georgia, East Cobb - Eater Atlanta

"Bagelicious is a New York-style Jewish deli located in East Cobb, Marietta. Opened in 1990, it has remained largely unchanged inside, featuring blue cafe tables and New York Yankees memorabilia. The deli is known for its authentic bagels, boiled the traditional way, and a variety of deli items like cream cheeses, pickles, and meats including pastrami and corned beef. Despite not having a social media presence or website, it continues to attract loyal customers and new patrons through word of mouth." - Lia Picard

Wheat Bagel w Cream Cheese Blueberry Bagel w Strawberry Cream Cheese Over 10 types of bagels and various cream cheeses! The savory egg salad flavor is light and refreshing, while the bagels are super chewy. If you’re a bagel lover, you’ll definitely enjoy this place! 😍 Recommend: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We often go to Bagelicious to get our fix on some great food! It reminds us so much home in NY. The staff is always friendly and you feel like you’re family. We placed an order just recently for their amazing tuna and chicken salad. Can I tell you it was even better than we expected!! Thank you so much to Bagelious for making our special event even better!

Google
Hello, I frequent Bagelicious for the best bagel en lox in the city, I feel. That goes for hand prepared sides, and other fantastic items they get from New York, from their community. Great service, atmosphere, foods, and cash only, is them.

Nicholas Myers

Google
Great place, great food, great vibe. Only down fall is how do you not accept any type of card? It’s 2024 I barely know people that use debit instead of credit better yet no card at all. It’s EXTREMELY inconvenient when the only option is an ATM machine where you will absorb $6 in fees between the ATM and your bank for a $30 check. I will say the food was fantastic and delicious and prices are reasonable but most people would be willing to pay $1 more for convenience.

Seth Horne

Google
CASH ONLY! This should be made obvious prior to entering. They do have an ATM inside, which is convenient. I get it that they management is from New York, but the attitude was a little off-putting. Damn, you are in the South, so how about a little less "tude". I say this because going in, I wanted to grab some sandwiches to go. The woman at the counter acted like I was inconveniencing her. With all that said, the food is damn good. I can forgive the minor hurdles for great victuals. Soft fresh bagels, excellent meats and spreads make this place sing. I will be back.

Google
One of the best bagel places in existence. Their egg breakfasts are good but their bagels (of course) are out of this world. Every bagel I've tried has been amazing - I'd recommend everything bagel or jalapeño and cheese bagel with vegetable cream cheese (or one of the sweet bagels with the walnut and cinnamon cream cheese). I absolutely love this place.

JC

Google
This is one of my favorite places to get lunch! It’s always crowded because it’s just that good. I highly recommend a bagel sandwich (I get mine with cream cheese, cucumbers, turkey, and Muenster cheese) and I also order the chicken noodle soup! 😃 It’s DELICIOUS… the BEST chicken noodle soup I’ve ever had!!! 🥯🥣😋🙌🏻 PS. DONT FORGET ITS CASH ONLY!!! 👍🏻

Google
Awesome food at reasonable prices. Lots of varieties of bagel sandwiches. I would definitely recommend here for a Sunday brunch. Only caveat is they still only take Cash or check. I guess that's one of the way to keep prices low.
google avatar

Yelp
Cannot go wrong here. They were my favorite bagels and the prices are so good. Keep in mind it's cash or check only but not a reason to stay away. You can wait in line to get bagels or sit down and eat there. Last time I got a bagel with 2 eggs and hash browns and it's all delicious. The portions are very generous as well. I often ge their bagel to go and freeze them for later as well.

Yelp
Disappointing experience today. Took 45 minutes to get two sandwiches and a bagel and fish. The rye bread on my sandwich was not fresh and it fell apart as I was eating it; the corned beef had obviously been sliced hours earlier and was dried out around the edges. My friend's turkey sandwich didn't have near the amount of turkey that it normally has, but he said it was good. I've been coming here for 20 years and normally have good experiences with the food, but today was Just a real disappointment. Maybe because it was a weekend, I don't know. Server said she didn't think a 45 minute wait was long considering it can take an hour to an hour and a half. I don't know who these customers are that sit and wait that long for their food. I would've walked out way before then.

Yelp
Best bagels I've had in the Atlanta metro area. This ex-New Yorker happily enjoyed a pumpernickel bagel with chive cream cheese and belly lox. I brought baked goods for family members who enjoyed the back and white cookies and coconut macaroons. Be prepared: the business is cash-only The benefit? Great value.
google avatar

Stuart S.

Yelp
Always always good. Nice family run operation and luckily for us it was slow (9am on a Saturday)

Hollis T.

Yelp
Best bagels in east cobb! They are cash only so be prepared for that. I always get their sesame bagels with lox and cc! Everyone here is so kind and service is quick!

Yelp
Bagelicious is a really good pick for a nice, delicious breakfast. The ambiance is very typical of a breakfast bagel spot. As my partner said 'I kind of think the chaoticness of bagelicious gives it more authentic New York vibe', as it did feel like a New York deli. The chaoticness however was definitely a detractor from the experience. We went on a busy Sunday morning and while I'm not faulting them for being a busy restaurant without a lot of seating, the process to get a table can be a bit confusing and chaotic. To add to that the food did take a very long time to come out. With that being said, it was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfect, the bagel was amazing, and the house fries were exactly how I like them with being just the right amount of crispy. Overall Bagelicious is a great breakfast spot to go, just make sure you aren't in a time crunch if you are planning on eating in. I will definitely be visiting again when I have time for a longer, but delicious, breakfast.

Yelp
A recent Lyft driver recommended Bagelicious to us, telling us that she is from Brooklyn and this place is the real deal. We spontaneously went to have breakfast here on Memorial Day with friends, and it did not disappoint. **I will start by mentioning that they don't accept cards, which is very surprising, but luckily our friend had cash. They also accept checks.** The menu is large. I ordered a salt bagel with eggs + cheese, and a side of cream cheese. It was delicious. They do not skimp on the cream cheese - we all had plenty leftover when we were done eating. The coffee tasted good, which I was honestly surprised about because I usually don't like restaurant coffee. The service was great, and the owner even spoke to us while he was slicing deli meat. It was a good vibe and we will definitely be back!
google avatar

J R.

Yelp
Bagelicious has really good bagels, but my only complaint is they open at 6:00, but most of their bagels aren't out by the time they open. Why open early if you can't have all your products out by that time.
google avatar

Raphael M.

Yelp
Outside of New York, one of the best bagel and deli spots. GREAT authentic bagels with amazing breakfast and sandwich choices. The people are very nice and friendly and the Yankees memorable items all over makes it feel like home away from home. Great food and recommend it to anyone from New York or local.
google avatar

Dej C.

Yelp
Absolutely one of the best bagels and cream cheese I've ever had in my whole entire life and that's really all that was on it. They are not stingy with the cream cheese !!! Services impeccable, very friendly individuals Only takes cash, no credit cards

Erwin S.

Yelp
Bagels got smaller and service was not as good as last time. Waiter and cashier had that "I am doing you a favor attitude". I think they lost track of the fact it is just a bagel shop.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
I am shocked folks from NYC say this is like NYC bagels. There hard not really flavorful and overall not as good as Costco bagels. Maybe we went on a bad day but Saturday morning they should be fresh

Steve E.

Yelp
It's solid every time I eat there . I love their chicken salad and everything bagel . The cash only throws me so I rarely buy anything to go which is short sighted of them financially in my opinion .
google avatar

Denise R.

Yelp
The food is delicious- no question. I also love the NY ambiance with all the nostalgic deco on the walls. We went for lunch on a weekend and they ran out of so many things. I'm guessing that's a testament to how good the food is. The lost star for me - they are a cash only establishment, which is annoying.
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
Me , my brother and my dad enjoyed lunch here in the afternoon. I ordered the New Yorker because I was craving a Pastrami. I love this sandwich and was just what I was looking for.
google avatar

Will P.

Yelp
Great service, incredible atmosphere, and quality food. I had the cornbeef hash, which comes with homefries, corned beef, onions, and 3 eggs on top with a bagel on the side. This place only takes cash or check so be sure to have cash in hand. It is seat yourself and a server will find you. A server got to me within 90 seconds despite it being quite busy (on a tuesday morning nonetheless) and food was out 10 minutes after placing my order. Definitely recommend and will be back.
google avatar

Connor S.

Yelp
Not sure how Bagelicious has thrived for so many years. This place is an absolute shit show when it comes to systems and structures. Customers are always confused on where or how to order. There is no signage stating that tables are for service. The waitresses never check on you throughout your meal. You have to assemble your own bagel and it takes forever to come out. Bagel is stale, eggs are flavorless, and overall just terrible.

Mitch W.

Yelp
Good all around bagel place you would expect on a street corner in New York great mix of breakfast and lunch and good for family holiday items Staff is very attentive with always a coffee pot in hand If you're going with a group larger than four, you may have to wait a bit as this is an old world for top seating area with both service and ordering in the main room or should I say the only room Also cash only business so bring plenty of cash
google avatar

Yelp
The best local deli with the absolute nicest people working there!! Great bagels and pastries! Family friendly environment.
google avatar

Yelp
Bagelicious has the best bagels in Atlanta. The owner is a Yankees fan. Enough said. The Nova was delicious. The ambience is fantastic.
google avatar

Yelp
Just ordered again from Bagelicious and much better this time The Kugel was moisture and not dry. The lox was delicious
google avatar

Lidia S.

Yelp
Stopped in to try a bagel sandwich, specifically the BBB with salami and a side of scallion cream cheese. It definitely satisfied my craving for a NY style bagel! It felt like I was in a NY deli as well, loved all the Yankees decor. Service was super quick and efficient, I'll definitely be stopping in again to get my bagel fix.
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
Great authentic bagels and a variety of cream cheese spreads. I highly recommend. Cash only, no cards.
google avatar

Musaja K.

Yelp
Not worth it. Not even in NYC they charge these prices. No signs anywhere that states cash only. So you pay them through their ATM to get some money to pay them some more. Ambiance was dark. Dimly lit and everyone that worked there looked and acted like they hated themselves. Which is usually ok. They also got my order wrong. I get it. Food work is rough. 30 dollars for 2 bagels. 30. I'm from NYC and recently had gone to the famous Katz deli and they don't charge these prices. Utopia bagels don't have a 15 dollar bagel in Brooklyn. Prices were different from Yelp and the actual store as well. The Cole slaw was a nightmare. It tasted like i was biting into crunchy water. The bagel itself was alright. Not great not perfect. The meat tasted like just Publix deli meats. Nothing we were given was worth the insurmountable costs for it. If you want a bagel and it's your addiction and just can't get it anywhere else and you're out of gas and stuck in front of the store and can't walk away. I'd go here. But overall, first and last time. Prices don't match the food. If this was 15-20 bucks I'd be easier on them but the atm, cash business, then just ok to sub par food. No.

Yelp
good food very crowded and noisy. Delicious bagels and good strong coffee. I had a smoked nova on onion bagel with cream cheese

Yelp
excellent! haven't eaten a bagel that good in years. i ordered the Lox & Onions breakfast with a cinnamon raisin bagel with butter, fruit side & the eggs were scrambled. when i arrived i was thinking i'd only have the option to pick a bagel & spread but then i realized the options for breakfast or lunch were nearly endless. of course i ended up with decision paralysis & went off script, getting a full breakfast. but i'm so glad i did. the fish in my eggs were fabulous & the bagel on the side was soooo good. a lovely hard exterior with a soft center. great spice & just the right amount of raisins scattered throughout - yum! the fruit was fresh & simple but just what i needed. i'm already planning to go back for the original simple bagel & spread idea so i can try their take away too. if dining in, make sure your whole party has arrived before sitting. the interior atmosphere is giving retro diner vibes & service is fabulous. quick to get your order, excellent recommendations & always ready with more coffee. 10/10 will be coming back!

Yelp
Lived most recently in Brooklyn NY and before that in Skokie IL, I am very familiar with good Jewish deli bagels. So, comparing Katz's sandwiches with these may be unfair, but here it is. The brisket and the pastrami was very dry and NOT flavorful as compared to a NY staple. The Russian dressing was definitely not to the Katz's standard nor was the coleslaw. I felt that the actual experience fell short of the hype. The challah bread we also purchased on our way out is good. You need to be clear that you only accept cash up front. You can get away with that in Brooklyn but in Atlanta that is a stretch!!! The bagel was good although the one I ordered was not available. The service was just ok but to be fair he said he was new.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has amazing bagels. Tons of choices and great prices me. The location is good and great parking
google avatar

Karen R.

Yelp
Dropped in on way home morning after show at solaris because looking for fresh bagels you can't get OTPsouth.... Not disappointed. Great variety of bagels, soft on inside. Little confusing on where to order to go.... At the counters to the right, then move left to pay. Watching (and smelling the aroma) the breakfasts getting delivered... Coming back for the corned beef hash!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Bagelicious is about as close as you will find to a New York deli in the suburbs. Important to know that they do not take credit cards. While bagels dominate the menu I would specifically recommend getting a bagelwich. I was hoping to try a Reuben one during my visit but they were out of supplies. I opted for a pizza bagel, pasta salad, and it came with a large pickle. Of course any meal like this has to be washed down with a nice Dr. Brown's which they have all the flavors you could want. Seating available both inside and some outside limited seating as well. Parking will not be an issue with this location being nestled inside a large shopping center.

Yelp
First things first My husband and I went out of our way to attend this establishment while out of town because it had good reviews-- however, we had a poor experience. I'll start with the positive, my garlic bagel was very garlicky and good. The butter was also good. My husband said his cream cheese on his bagel was very good. Moving on-- I'll start by saying this is a cash only establishment, something we were not made aware of when we called to place our order. We were told our order would be ready in 10 minutes-- it took us 20 minutes to get there and we still had to wait for our food. All we ordered was the veggie omelet, and an everything bagel with cream cheese. Next, the potatoes were very gross and I did not like the egg for the veggie omelet. I would absolutely never return and I would hesitate to attend another bagelicious establishment because we had such a negative experience.

Yelp
Bagelicious has The most authentic nyc bagel in the Atlanta, Metro. Tommy and his wife do a great job of preserving the ambiance of an old school deli/appetizer store from the boroughs and Long Island. They have a ton of bagel varieties. My favorite is the garlic. They have tons of cream cheese varieties that are homemade in the store, veggie is my favorite. You could also get different kinds of salads and fish and kinishes as well. They have really good omelettes and they sell YooHoo! If you're looking for a fresh loaf of bread, they make Challah that's spot on like grandma used to make. take the short trip up Johnson ferry Road to Bagelicious in East Cobb it's really only, a short ways from Sandy Springs and it's worth the drive.
google avatar

Marilyn B.

Yelp
Bagelicious has a great variety to offer from breakfast items like bagels with cream cheese and egg sandwiches to lunch items like deli sandwiches on bread or their delicious bagels. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Thankfully I read previous reviews and tips and knew that this is a cash only restaurant. I kept my order simple this visit and picked 2 bagels to split with my husband. I chose the everything bagel, the jalapeño bagel, plain cream cheese and veggie cream cheese. The everything bagel was flavorful and had plenty of seasonings on top and bottom. The jalapeño had a perfectly light hint of spice. Both cream cheeses were good but I really enjoyed all the real veggies in the veggie cream cheese. I can't wait to go back and try more that they have to offer.
google avatar

Gwenn A.

Yelp
The bagels at bagelicious are close enough to a NY bagel for us to try it again. They have a nice chew without being hard. The seeds on top are all over the bagel not just dipped on top which makes for a nice bagel as well. The whitefish salad is a bit too salty for my taste and although the baked salmon salad is ok it could do with less mayo and celery.
google avatar

Maxine D.

Yelp
Had a fantastic time here--the vibes and the food are both top-notch! My family is originally from New Jersey, so I nearly melted into a puddle of happy goo when I saw the interior. Classic deli, with signage which probably hasn't changed since 1987. But unlike the classic deli, the staff are polite and patient to newcomers and old hands alike. There are all the kosher deli staples like nova and breakfast sandwiches and latkes (most of which are in fact kosher), but of course I had to try a classic bagel and shmear. It was everything I could have hoped for: chewy, savory, impossible to stop eating. I also tried kugel for the first time and adored it. But what really brought things over the top was the service. I waited for a friend at my table and was constantly checked on until they arrived--especially by the delightful Ambrose. And when (be warned!) I discovered the restaurant only took cash, Ambrose was kind enough to let me run out to get some without blame. All in all, Bagelicious is an spot I would recommend to any Southerner wanting a real New York deli experience. You'll never go back to Dunkin Donuts bagels again!

Condo D.

Yelp
I've been going to Bagelicious for many years, and while it had its faults, it was never terrible. Today was a new story. The people behind the counters were rude and nasty! It took us over 45 minutes to get our food order. The bagels are misshaped and hard, like a pro bagel maker didn't make them. The waitstaff is still wonderful, but I have a feeling this place will be on the market shortly. The whole menu went up $1.00 in price, but the wrong prices are still on the menus, so you don't know until you get your check. You can't be rude to your customers and expect them to keep showing up. I won't!
google avatar

Nina Y.

Yelp
Bagelicious is the closest thing to a classic NY Jewish deli in the state of GA. It has the best bagels I've had outside of NY. They are the real deal. My family has been eating there for 20+ years. I never have issues with dine-in service and the egg dishes are a great value - they come with a bagel and another side - but the best things there are in the deli case and bagel displays. Their smoked whitefish salad is my favorite bagel topping. All of the bagels are great, but I love the Pumpernickel and Pumpernickel Everything. Come in for a sit down meal or just grab a dozen bagels with all the fixings to go. Bagelicious is a must-try if you are looking for an authentic deli experience in metro Atlanta! Make sure you bring cash - they don't take cards.
google avatar

Montserrat O.

Yelp
We ordered a salmon bagel and tuna salad to go! The salmon portion was very generous and fresh. However I do wish they wouldn't have added too much cream cheese. I've been obsessed with the Nova Luxe from Einstein Bagels but it is further out so I decided to give bagelicious a try (I will keep taking my drive to Einstein bagels). This place is more of a hangout spot for the older folks! Which I think it's great to see the senior citizens enjoying brunch on a weekday. They also have a meat selection item display so you can buy lbs to take home.
google avatar

Derek R.

Yelp
Simply doesn't live up to the hype. Sure, it looks like an NYC bagel joint and they have the unnecessarily disorganized and stressed-out vibe of an NYC bagel joint. Unfortunately, the bagels are "meh" at best. Not that Atlanta has a truly GREAT bagel spot, but you can still do better than here. Also, the "Kosher" element is a bit misleading. Yes, those are indeed Kosher meats they sell...but this is not a "Kosher" restaurant in the technical sense (you'll either immediately know what I mean or this generally doesn't apply to you, lol).

Susan M.

Yelp
Drive 30 minutes to try these recommended bagels out. Former NYer so I was excited. Upon ordering I was told they only take cash or check which is weird in this day and age. Ordered sesame bagel around 10 am. Bagel was very dry almost as if it had been sitting out all day. Also there was hardly any sesames on the bagel. Look elsewhere.

Yelp
Packed out EVERY MORNING, because who doesn't enjoy a fresh baked bagel with homemade cream cheese and Lox?! *drooling Great customer service. Will always return for an awesome breakfast served by great family-oriented people.

Yelp
This place is great! Awesome prices, fresh bagels and cream cheese, and the employee that helped me out was very nice! I work nearby and will definitely be returning for my bagel fix
google avatar

Yelp
My uncle was raving about this place and we had to go! The bagels are so fresh and amazing!! They have a TON of spreads!! We had an onion bagel with the scallion spread and it was divine!! I got a veggie omelette with the home fries and it was soooo goood!! We also tried the potato pancakes and they were great. Next time I visit, I'm heading straight here!

Yelp
Such a Cute and delicious place. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was a very charming place as well. I thought the feeder spectacular. I ordered the Ruben bagel sandwich and it was on the best I've had. I will be back
google avatar

Philis P.

Yelp
We tried Bagelicous over the weekend, due to all the positive reviews. It was ok. The bagel and lox had white onion, instead of red, which I've not seen before. Even though I had the bagels toasted, you'd never know, they were toasted. The rugalah, were very dry, and way too much cinnamon.
google avatar

Abigail L.

Yelp
It was ok. The bagel sandwich was a little soggy. The Service was pretty quick and you can place an order online which is super helpful if you are running late.
google avatar

Alphia B.

Yelp
In this day and time, they don't accept contactless payments or credit cards. The bagel was okay, nothing that I couldn't buy in a grocery store.

Yelp
R and I came here for breakfast on the last Saturday in February, after he found out that this place had good Yelp reviews. It was going to be his treat, so, of course, I accepted! Bagelicious is in a long strip mall that has a large, free parking lot shared by all the businesses, so finding parking was very easy, especially at 9 am on Saturday. It was pretty obvious by looking at the parking lot that a lot of customers were in Bagelicious. Yep! We walked in, and just about all of the tables were occupied (and there are a lot of tables packed into the restaurant). This was our first Bagelicious visit, so we didn't know anything about it. I didn't feel all that comfortable being around so many people (this was when a second version of omicron was spreading faster), so we were going to make ours a take out order. However, if you plan to eat in, just sit at a table and an employee will take your order at the table and bring your food when it is ready. Otherwise, you'll have to order at the deli like we did. At the time, we got into a line with 6 people ahead of us. The line moved rather quickly, though, and the employees were very fast and efficient. The employee who helped us was also friendly, and gladly answered our questions about menu items. There are many options here for breakfast, the most popular being items on the Breakfast and the Bagelwiches menus. In addition, there are so many types of deli meats to choose from. I ended up getting a BBB - pastrami, cheese and fried eggs on a toasted everything bagel. R got the cream cheese lox with scallions . It was a short wait for our bagel sandwiches to be made, and it was time to pay. R had his credit card out, ready to pay, and the employee told him, "Sorry, we don't accept credit cards. It's cash only ... or a check." R looked at me with a smile, and I rolled my eyes at him. We both know that one of us always carries cash ... and it's not R. (Insert Kevin rolling eyes here.) Paid for, we took our food to the car and drove to a nearby coffee place whose name rhymes with Barstucks, where R bought a couple of lattes and we ate outside. The bagel sandwiches were delicious, and we'd definitely go again, but with with R getting some cash before we get there.

Yelp
Pros: best bagels, best cream cheese, best whitefish salad, best lox, excellent service, family friendly, and superb location. Room for Improvement: cash only is not great, and there's this one dude on Monday mornings who doesn't put enough toppings on the bagels and it drives me crazy every time like have u ever had a bagel? These ratios are all wrong...(everybody else who works there is a total champ don't get me wrong).
