Bagels & Co. - Review - Northern Liberties - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Every neighborhood needs a go-to bagel spot, and that title belongs to Bagels & Co. in Northern Liberties. It’s pretty small, with only a few places to sit along the window, but the outside tables are a better place to be anyways. Bagels here go for $2 and come in flavors like french toast, pumpernickel, cinnamon, and cheddar habañero. They’re big, fluffy, and can be covered with spreads like za’atar and sundried tomato that make each bite more satisfying than the last." - Candis R. McLean

Google
New to the neighborhood from NY stopped by for breakfast. Bagel was good and so was coffee nothing out of this world. But the customer service was great and the service was fast. And that why I’ll be back to try other items. I even tipped the cashier which is rare in “get up order places “ for me !

James

Google
Spent $12 on a bagel with a single slice of cheese and a single slice of pork roll. Usually not one to complain but I couldn’t bite my tongue. I Immediately asked for a refund and was refused. Completely unacceptable to serve this for $12.

Google
Bagel and Co. is the best! Always friendly usually packed in there their bagels are so fresh they have such a variety their spreads are amazing if you want an incredible bagel from an incredible place I got no other place to tell you where to go except for Bagel and Co.!

Jessy Dickinson

Google
Genuinely horrible service everytime I go in here and staff consistently gets orders wrong. It makes no sense to charge $12 for a bacon egg and cheese with 1 slice of each on it. Staff here isn’t friendly or attentive even on a slower day, hardworking uber eats drivers come inside and have to beg for their attention. Support a great small bagel business in Philly, of which there are many, DO NOT go here

Google
I have tried this spot at least three times and EACH time my bagel has been cold despite asking for it to toasted. They have one job? Toast the bagel. On top of that, the girls at the front have been so rude each and every time. No hello, good morning just what do you want. Or they stare at you until you tell them your order. It’s really weird. That alone makes me not wanna go back. For a $5 plain bagel with cream cheese.. I’ll pass you. Please save your time and your money. I’d rather get a bagel at Starbucks (right across the street) at least they toast the bagel.

Google
I visited here because it was relatively recently opened bagel shop in Philly. But I will never go back again because I'm sure we could find better bagel places in Philly. This place really need more workers to prep their food!! I ordered a drink & bagel sandwich. I understand it was a busy weekend morning, but my drink came out 15 mins after I placed the order, and then literally waited another 30 mins for the bagel! I already finished my drink when my bagel was ready. By the time I ate my bagel (after total wait of 50 mins), it was harden & cold already...The bagel was just dense and no chewy texture at all. The amount of cream cheese and lox they put inside the bagel were not sufficient as the one I ate in NYC. They put really thin layer of cream cheese and few pieces of onion, tomato, and lox. I ordered: "Breakfast Sandwich" - The Classic with Lox & everything bagel & walnut raisin cream cheese "Matcha Latte" with Almond milk (unsweetened) Just these two items, they costed me $19!! They sub-charge you for every single thing you substitute/replace. The only two thing I will recommend are: "Matcha latte": I liked it because it was unsweetened, and matcha they used was really rich & creamy! "Walnut raisin cream cheese": I personally love this cream cheese & it's really hard to messed up with this type of cream cheese anyway lol

Google
Disappointed with my visit to this bagel shop. I saw an older man cooking and handling food without gloves, which is a big hygiene concern. On top of that, I waited 30 minutes for a simple bacon egg n cheese. Not worth the time or risk. 👎

Google
These bagels are BOMB! Hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. The ambience is super chill and relaxing, the perfect place for a quick bite. I ordered an iced matcha with lavender syrup (AMAZING COMBO!!!!) and a rainbow bagel with apple cinnamon cream with bacon. It was so good, my man was eating mine more than his own. The combination of sweet and salty really did it for me. We had to order another one lol! Would definitely revisit 10/10 😊

Yelp
I got this delivered - was super fast and delish! I have walked by the store front but haven't been inside, can't wait to go in next time!

Yelp
Inconsistent at best but today I almost cut my mouth with this huge piece of plastic in my Whitefish bagel. See picture. This place just has a very convenient location but I'd say 65% of the time, they mess my order up or have a ridiculously long wait because they are unorganized.

Yelp
Yummy bagels! The employees are always super pleasant and the spreads are fun and different. Very enjoyable spot for a quick bagel!

Yelp
First time visiting and the food was just okay. I would like to give it another chance and order something else though! Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed! There's seating inside and outside. I ordered veggie cream cheese on an egg everything bagel, and my bf ordered a sausage/egg/cheese on a sesame bagel. Both bagels lacked flavor and needed additional seasoning. It was a bit bland. Nothing crazy to rave about but they did have many bagels and cream cheese options, so I will return to give the others a try!

Kirstin F.

Yelp
The place was clean and the service was quick. However, I paid for bacon to be on my breakfast sandwich. When I got home there was no bacon. What's the point of paying extra for a protein and I don't get it? Which is why I will not becoming back to this establishment. I only need one time to be screwed over

J J.

Yelp
Horrible experience. $12 bagel with a single slice of cheese and a single slice of pork roll. I specifically asked for no egg and this is what I got. I askedfor a refund after seeing the pathetic bagel and was told no because the manager wasn't there. Completely unprofessional Do not eat here. Horrible service Would you pay $12 for this?!?

Sabriya B.

Yelp
I walked 15mins from work placed an order only to return to work and find there was a huge mix up and I received a sandwich with pork bacon. I called the store, was offered a remake/refund. I opted for a remake. Walked back to the store only to find that the sandwich was not remade and I had to wait. I'd already wasted time and my morning break from work and did not have any additional time to spare. Had to opt for a refund that would take 3-5 days to receive, no breakfast and another 15 minute walk back to work. All could have been avoided and had the refund processed when I called. In 2025 you would think food establishment would have more knowledge about meats, food sensitivity, religious beliefs, respect for others, their time and over all sense. Very inconvenient

Yelp
Its was ok ... our cashier was really the I got a plain bagel sliced and toasted with butter .... This is what I always get ... I have a favorite spot in Maryland so I only can compare to what I love and these were mid ... they did have tons of cute flavors of cream cheese if I opted for that that would've been fun. But I didn't ...

Yelp
Bagels are good- but twenty min to toast a bagel and put cream cheese on it- seems wild to me- 8am and no one is here

Yelp
Bagels & Co. Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, PA Rating: 4.5/5 Two words - fire bagel! I got a toasted Doritos bagel with scallion cream cheese! Super fresh and yummy - love the crazy, unique variety bagel & spread flavors they offer here - sweet & savory. Will continue to come here again and again! Order online or be prepared to wait in line! This place is always popping! There is not too much space to sit since it's usually busy, there is some seating available outside.

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying this place for a long time, but it turned out to be a disappointing experience. They play music too loud in there for them to properly hear customer orders. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and a special "smores" drink that they had for a limited time. The cashier asked me if that was all and I said, yes, that was all. It wasn't until I took a look at the receipt that I realized my drink was not on there. It turned out that he did not hear my drink order, so I had to order the drink separately. The drink was listed on the menu for around $6 but it turned out that the price listed on the menu was wrong, so I ended up paying more than $7 for it. By the way, it tasted nothing like smores. There also weren't any tables to sit down at to eat in there, just a counter. I could have spent less money at Dunkin' Donuts and gotten better service and better food. I won't be coming here again.

Yelp
Had a really long wait for an online order on Saturday. The wait was worth it because the sandwich was amazing! Definitely get the hash brown in your order. Bagels were good but they mixed up the bagel flavors in our sandwiches and the wait was a while.

Yelp
Update to my review from March 15. I called & spoke with the manager about experiencing problems with my order twice. H explained that they had been experiencing problems with the app t I usually which explained the problem that day but not the first time. He asked what I usually order which is 3 bagels & said he would leave a message that when I return, he would comp my order. I just went in, the employee was aware my order was to be comped - very easy, pleasant transaction.

Yelp
One morning me and my husband and I decided to take a walk. To try the new Bagel place that just opened up. The place was really small they had a couple of high stool to sit and eat. The young lady was very nice with helping us order our Bagel sandwiches. I didn't like wet or half cook eggs. And one lady was getting everyone coffee, teas, and other drinks ready. The place was nice and quiet. I wanted to eat my Bagel sandwich their but I remembered that we walked, and after eating, I might not want to walk back home. We might have to call an Uber or Lyft. Lol. So we walked back home. And let me tell you that the Bagel was so good I he'd got the Sammy Bagel sandwich My husband got the same thing, but he hD his on wheat bread. They even have homemade cream cheese and never seen cereal in cream cheese. But that wouldn't be my choice. The coffee was good. My husband had hot tea. They even have fried chicken, Turkey bacon, turkey sausage pork sausage, and pork sausage They also have a point system, so when you go ask about so you can get a free Bagel or something. Just look how good the sandwich looks. And I the sandwich was still hot when we got home.

Yelp
Awful texture made less bearable when toasted. Cute, clean location with lovely staff but would skip the bagel itself and maybe just order a coffee.

Yelp
Sadly, I went in an hour before closing so my options were limited,, but that's good for the company. The whole wheat, everything bagel stayed fresh until the next day along with the white fish salad that I purchased. At home I made a white fish salad sandwich with the bagel, toasted, lettuce, tomato and slices of onion. Delicious.! The store was organized and clean. All of they staff members I encountered were friendly and very. I receive my order promptly the price was fair, considering what I ordered. When I return? Yes I would!

Yelp
I was staying around the corner with friends, after the second day of hearing about these bagels we asked to partake. Although you can order ahead, our friend recommended just ordering there. (Either way, you'll be waiting) I didn't pay attention to the cold case at first, I should have. You can see all the glorious spreads . I initially ordered a plain bagel with bacon and scallion cream cheese. After looking over the case and seeing all the bagels, I ordered a dozen to come home. These bagels are massive and don't fit in a sandwich bag. Additionally, they toast well and remain fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. My bagel from the store was lightly toasted and loaded with delicious cream cheese. I highly recommend checking this place when visiting town, I know I will be back!

Yelp
After some morning errands I was in the mood for a raisin bagel and strawberry cream cheese and remembered about this spot. Because I was driving on this occasion it took a little while to find a parking spot, but once l entered ~11am on a Saturday morning I realized how popular this place is. It was fairly crowded and busy. While it was an open atmosphere with bagels and cream cheeses on display. I was a bit confused on how to order initially but after a minute or two someone came over to take my order. I ordered my desired bagel and a caramel cappuccino and did get a bit of sticker shock, yes it was a bit pricey. I then proceeded to wait about 10 min for my order (this place truly is popular in the area). Once I got my order I was a happy camper and enjoyed my desired bagel. So much so I returned the following Monday to give the French toast bagel a try and also enjoyed it very much!
google avatar

Yelp
Staff overworked and overwhelmed. Waited 30 min for BEC on a bagel only to be handed one that was sitting ready in the warmer when I asked to cancel my order. The one in the warmer was soggy and gross

Julia L.

Yelp
I've ordered their sandwiches on a few weekends. They have so many options. Big yummy bagel sandwiches and fast service!!

Yelp
I have tried Bagel & Co several times and really like this place. We were introduced to this amazing place during a Yelp elite event in which we could get a bagel sandwich and coffee. Since then, we've ordered several times from here. In fact, this place has become our regular walk-in breakfast place. They have several different types of Bagels, but I definitely recommend their Everything bagel and Onion-Garlic bagel. These have strong flavors that satisfy my Indian palate. All their bagels are very fresh and you can have them toasted/not toasted per your wishes. They have unique selection of cream cheese. My go-to is Sriracha scallion cream cheese. This again, has bold flavors with spicy notes that blend perfectly with the bagels. If you have bagel & cream cheese sandwich they do stuff the bagel with lot of cream cheese. They also have a good selection of sandwiches. They cheesesteak sandwich and Nolibs have been our favorite. They have some veg options as well. I do recommend the bagel sandwich. Note, the sandwich are big in size and very filling. Deliciously tasty as well :) Overall, I recommend Bagel & Co for some nice tasty bagels, cream cheese and sandwiches. They have good coffee too, but there is Starbucks right across the street just in case.

Yelp
Delicious and convenient! Walk over around 9:30 on a Monday and walked right in to order. After talking with the cashier for a second I decided to order a bagel breakfast sandwich (I think it was the NoLib sandwich) and a coffee. My order was ready in less than five minutes. I walked to the bear by park and enjoyed my coffee and half my breakfast bagel, it was so nice and refreshing! The bagel sandwich left me full for hours and each bite was full of flavor. If I leaves close by I would come by everyday!

Yelp
All around good bagel. There is an interesting of variety of bagels that you can pick! Service was good.

Lauren W.

Yelp
Ordered ONE bagel online, walked the 10 minutes to Bagels and Co and still stood there for another 30 minutes waiting for my food. On top of that, this is the second location that has told me they "aren't trained" to give out gift cards. They turned away a $100 sale and told me to purchase online. There's nowhere online to purchase gift cards either. Smaller, family owned, mom and pop shops have better organization and business management than this company

Yelp
This place is POPULAR. Order ahead and expect a wait. Waited out the rain in the breezeway outside Bagels & Co recently. (I took the dogs for a walk without looking at the forecast, and my dogs HATE rain.) They have a LOT of staff, and everyone was working their butt off. (As I said, this place is popular.) You can wait in line at the register to order, order at a screen, or pick up an online order. While I was there, I also saw a number of delivery service orders get picked up. There are arrows directing you to the ordering kiosks, but it wasn't clear how the line for the registers would form. Lots of people milling about, so it was hard to tell who had ordered already, who was waiting for the register, and who was waiting for the kiosk. I actually went outside for a bit until the crowd thinned, as I wanted to order at the register so that I could give them my commuter mugs for coffee and didn't want to question everyone about who was in line and who wasn't. We waited about 10-15 minutes for our food, which wasn't bad at all especially considering the number of orders they were cranking out. The bagels are good for sandwiches, but they aren't the dense, chewy style of bagel that I prefer. I got the Jersey on an egg bagel, and it was good. Husband liked his NoLibs, which seems like their own creation with provolone and lemon aioli. Kudos to them for doing something different.
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
Meh. They have bagel shaped things. Big bagels- fluffy inside - not very chewy or dense. The outside has a thin crisp to it. So when you bite into it you get a crisp outer shell and fluffy bready center. They have a unique selection of cream cheeses. I've not tried them- they don't look that appealing to me. I recommend ordering from the kiosk or QR code. Even if you walk in for a plain ass bagel - not cut toasted or anything you still have to give your name and wait for tge bagel that is literally just sitting there. I appreciate their hours. Only bagel shop I can find open early Tuesday
google avatar

Nary K.

Yelp
I love bagels so this place was a no brainer for me - I had to give it a try. I ordered The Classic which was lox, cream cheese, red onions and cucumbers on a choice of toasted bagel; I ordered mine on a toasted wheat bagel. I was so excited! Then I opened the bag (already at my office) and saw that I did not get my lox on a toasted wheat bagel but instead I got lox on a soggy wheat sliced bread. It was horrible. I also ordered iced coffee - it was ok. Will not go back.

Yelp
As I sit here eating this sad and tiny bagel from Starbucks that I picked up on my way to the office, I am missing and craving me some Bagels & Co. We tried a couple of bagels last week with the black truffle, and the salmon and dill cream cheeses, and they were frickin' delicious. The bagels were nice, chewy, and I just cannot get enough of that black truffle cream cheese. I love that they have a variety of cream cheeses to choose from too! I can't wait to be working from home again next week, so I can eat Bagels & Co. *sigh*
google avatar

Le N.

Yelp
Really good bagels and nice variety of cream cheeses. I love their everything bagels and scallion cream cheese. It gives me garlic breath but it's so worth it.

Mary J.

Yelp
Terrible wait. I waited 40+ minutes for my bagel sandwich this morning. They should let customers know from the outsider
google avatar

Jenny K.

Yelp
LOVE that i finally have a local bagel place now in nolibs, great location too i ordered my bagel and matcha latte all online and went to go pick it up in about 20-30 minutes. there's some tables inside as well as one outside the bagel is perfectly priced and DELICIOUS! i got the cheddar habanero bagel with bacon and scallion cream cheese. holy shit - so delicious. great flavors and that cream cheese to bagel ratio IS WHAT IT ALWAYS SHOULD BE the matcha latte isn't cheap but it's good matcha - i could tell bc i couldn't sleep (i drank this at 12pm) and had to take melatonin at midnight and only good matcha does that to me all in all, i will be back and can't wait to try the other cool bagel and cream cheese flavors they had!
google avatar

Brittany P.

Yelp
fluffy inside and a nice little crisp outter layer! i love the bagels and spreads from here. the variety is always changing and you can build so many combos. last week i got an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and a blueberry bagel with plain cream cheese. 10/10. i noticed they had a dorito bagel which i need to try because in high school id crush doritos and put them on my bagel. SO! cashier was nice and didn't mind serving customers at the end of their business day.
google avatar

Patrick J.

Yelp
Honestly this place has really stepped their game up!! Ordering online through toast is super easy and I didn't have to wait at all after showing up for my sando. I'm from North Jersey and this breakfast sando is the best thing around here. Not a fan of the "gourmet" "boutique" bagel stores on girard and in the area , would much rather just grab a fresh Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese for a good price! Would for sure come again
google avatar

Rodge B.

Yelp
Great bagels. I got a pork roll, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel which was YUGE and good. I also picked up a half dozen day old bagels to stick in my freezer for home. They have a large selection of custom cream cheeses, but that's not really my thing.
google avatar

Shelly G.

Yelp
I'm a fan of their bagels! My favorite and go to is the everything bagel with tomato cream cheese. Their bagels are fluffy and big and they give you a nice serving of cream cheese with every bagel. My husband loves their truffle cream cheese. It's a good go to and fast spot in the neighborhood. Will keep coming back!
google avatar

Haleigh S.

Yelp
5 +++ for service 3 for restaurant cleanliness which is tough to keep up with, I understand but let's make sure our counters are clean. And 3.8 for the breakfast sandwich and hash brown... the bagel was the best part but everything else was slightly lackluster, I can save my money and make a better one at home. Maybe their not egg sammys are better? I'll try again another day.

Nikki R.

Yelp
I used to really love this place but in the past few months I've noticed the quality has gone down. My oreo bagel with cannoli cream cheese ended up tasting like sesame seeds and bacon. Disappointing.

Abby S.

Yelp
Good food, sometimes they run out of what you order but it's always really goood!! The shop is well displayed and clean
google avatar

Dustin K.

Yelp
I've had good and bad experiences here. But today they served me this "wrap". Who does this? It's basically an open faced sandwich I guess? Impossible to eat. I won't go back.
google avatar

Suzanne A.

Yelp
Glad I had an opportunity to try this place! The store is welcoming with some cute fall decor. The employees were excellent. They were patient and helpful. My French toast bagel with cinnamon apple cream cheese was sooo good. The bagel had the right amount of chewiness. It really did have a French toast flavor! The Apple cinnamon cream cheese was the perfect complement. It had pieces of apple, good cinnamon flavor and was creamy. My chai tea latte was perfectly made with a nice amount of foam. It's mostly grab and go but there are several tables inside and also outside. It was nice to sit outside people watching with my bagel and tea. There is street parking which isn't too bad during the week.
google avatar

Stephanie R.

Yelp
Delicious bagel and so many spread options! Service was relatively quick too. About $5 for a bagel and special cream cheese. Can also order ahead online!
google avatar

Kara A.

Yelp
Came here this morning & ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese. Proceeded to wait 40 minutes for my order to be fulfilled before eventually giving up & leaving without my bagels. I literally cannot imagine slower people fulfilling orders. The place just kept getting more and more and more packed as the orders kept piling up & the people behind the counter weren't even trying to catch up. A bagel shop should be turning out an order every 2 minutes but this place was cranking them out every 5+. Honestly awful experience and I'll never go back. Wasted $13 this morning I guess & didn't even get breakfast.

Allison P.

Yelp
0 stars if possible. Horrible experience. Going over other reviews it seems as though they have similar complaints. If your into not getting what you paid for and your order screwed up EVERY TIME we'll this is the place for you!
google avatar

Nick L.

Yelp
Bottom line is this is a below average bagel store in an area with many options. The bagels are closer to a roll or loaf of bread in terms of consistency and did not come toasted despite being ordered that way. In addition, the cheddar jalapeño cream cheese was not very good and the bagel was overloaded with it. Finally the bacon, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll was about as average as it could get. Go to Philly Style Bagles and you'll be much happier you did.
google avatar

Tommyy C.

Yelp
Takes 20min for a simple BE bagel with NO cheese and they still manage to put cheese on mine. Bagel is unauthentic and not made in-house. Different quality bagel every time you order, it's like they can't find a consistent supplier. Let alone, produce their own bagels.

Lord R.

Yelp
Just moved from NY TO Philly so far every breakfast spot for sandwiches and bagels disappoint. But this one i love it food is always good /ambience is good and employees actually care for what comes out that kitchen Second time ordering. You got your self another customer good job
google avatar

Jackie M.

Yelp
I stopped by here on a weekend morning after a workout. Really was just craving a bagel and cream cheese. I opted for the onion bagel with veggie cream cheese and a large iced coffee with almond milk. They will add sweetener unless you want splenda - I wanted splenda so I added it myself. I ordered at the cashier but I noticed on my way out there are tablet screens you can order on as well. The bagel itself was large but delicious. Very soft and squishy. Mine is toasted but they just lightly toast...not a lot of crunch. Plenty of cream cheese that had a lot of veggies which was just what I was craving. In one sitting I could only eat half but I finished it for a late lunch later that day. I kicked a star off because it was $12 after tip, kind of a lot but it's fine. Overall I like this spot and I can't wait for the one in fishtown to open. I want to come back and try some of the breakfast sandwiches.

Yelp
Weirdest experience getting bagels in my entire life. Ordered a plain bagel and a sesame seed bagel toasted with plain cream cheese to go. I was charged nearly $12 and left a tip only to find in my to-go bag two loose bagels, not toasted and no cream cheese or anything else. Went back in and asked if I could get them toasted and with cream cheese. Both people at the counter told me they didn't have sesame seed bagels in response to my question and then walked away. When one came back i asked if I could get cream cheese at least? One of the employees yelled at me saying, if you could just calm down for a moment! After a minute someone passed me a tub of plain cream cheese and I left before anyone else yelled at me. The bagels were fine, the cream cheese was good. Next time I will just go a couple blocks over to the other bagel shop where they are nicer and the food is what it is supposed to be.
