Giving 1 star for the lack of food. I mean I spent 11.25$ on breakfast here and this is the egg and cheese bagel I get with barely any eggs and mayo too . You guys used to be real good back in the day even for the price. Now you get this bare minimum amount of food for a lot of money. I don’t get. Makes me miss F line bagels real bad !

I've taken people here from 3 boroughs, all agree this is the best bagel in New York. The price, flavor, service, everything perfect. But the Bagels, are soft, chewy, crispy, incredible. Best bagel I've had on earth and I've had them all.

Not horrible, but my bagel was overly toasted with minimal cream cheese—a crime in New York. Decent selection though. Worth it to walk to Shelsky’s instead

Wow did I just eat the best and most underrated bagel in NY? I think so! Absolutely fantastic. Perfect size, crunch on the outside soft in the inside. I am mouth watering as I am typing. Very friendly, accommodating, fast and proactive staff!

Bagels By The Park it’s a good bagel store in Brooklyn. I get coffee there . The bagels are always fresh and the people are so friendly. They also have a cat named Bagels . 😻 Even though they have great coffee . New Yorkers may be direct, but they are also true kind and look out for each other….

My first time in the establishment. The service was great; very friendly. I had a onion bagel with butter and ice coffee. Bagel was good, toasted just right.

They incorrectly charged me and wanted to run my card again for $2. They were pretty aggressive about it which I didn’t like. I don’t know any other place that does this. They also don’t have their prices listed which doesn’t help. I could’ve been a repeat customer because I like the variety of options available and it was nearby where I was staying but I wasn’t a big fan of the service !

Not only are the bagels fantastic, the staff is super friendly AND there is a sweet cat who lives in the shop and is always napping by the window.

A neighborhood staple where you know the owner and employees. I continue to patronize Bagels by the Park, just because. *Because I like their iced Hazelnut coffee (at reasonable prices) and hot tea variety. *Because I'm not into all that fou fou cold brew, special coffee pot that prepares it or have fomo for other similar businesses (with elevated prices) that have lines down the block for reasons unknown. *Because their bagels are pretty darn good as are their wraps or 2 eggs,, any style with toast, home fries and coffee special (all for $7.75). *Because it seems to be less chaotic now with so many coffee spots around. *Because I like the store cat, Bagels. She's adorable.

One of the only coffee spots near red hook that's open from 6am, great self service station as well as pleasant hospitality! The interior is cozy and inviting, nice location by Carroll Park.

Horrible service. Older gentleman who was working cashier was extremely off putting and no help at all. My order was behind him for over ten minutes and he couldn't bother to check or assist me.

This place has made no progress at all in ten years. Do not go here. There are better options. Life is good and worth living and this place should not be a part of your existence.

My favorite bagel shop in Brooklyn! The bagels are so fresh, you can tell they're homemade. And they are so quick!

Sometimes the employees at the front still serve you the bagel that had dropped from the toaster. They just pick it up and wipe it off.

I normally don't like to post anything, especially negative but I couldn't help myself today. This used to be my local go to bagel store and NEVER AGAIN!! The last 5 times I came here they got my order wrong. Today it was terribly wrong. The cooks must be smoking some good stuff because I ordered a simple Turkey Club essentially... Everything Bagel, toasted and scooped with Sliced Turkey, Bacon, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo... first I got an Everything Bagel, not toasted, not scooped, no bacon, hot Turkey and melted cheese. The girl tried correcting this and now I'm waiting and running late for work. This time I got the SAME F$&@ing thing except now it has eggs on it and 2 lame slices of Turkey. I paid for Turkey and I got eggs. Egg sandwiches are not $10. Thanks for making me late to work and pissed off. SMITH St Bagels here I come.

Avoid the bagels here. Even though it's in the name bagels aren't their main focus, maybe other things are better (wraps, sandwiches, juice). When I came in they didn't even have their cream cheese or smoked salmon on display. The texture of the bagel was similar to Italian bread, very soft. Even the "everything" seasoning tasted more like what you'd find on a loaf of bread. The scallion cream cheese was also liquidy. The smoked salmon is not good quality, a very light pink color, somewhat soft and even stringy in parts, devoid of flavor. They have an adorable resident cat.

We go to this place at least once a week, the food is consistent, easy and well priced. Today we walked in to see what looked like a heroin addict passed out at one of the tables. A pill bottle and what appeared to be a syringe cap next to it. The owner was there, could clearly see what was going on and ignored it. We will no longer go there and suggest you avoid this place as well.

Bagels by the Park is something of a misnomer. They offer bagels and much, much more. Perusing the extensive menu, I was immediately drawn to the wraps named for streets in the neighborhood. What began as a quick look turned into a detailed examination of the many choices. My first wrap was excellent. Consuming it led me on a quest to try every wrap on the menu. Each has been filled with interesting goodies. All have been appetizing. Ingredients are fresh, even when delivered. Deliveries are prompt and accurate. Some wraps are large enough for two lunches, when paired with fruit. Tightly enclose half in plastic wrap and it tastes just as fresh the second day as the first. Have I tried anything except wraps? No, I'm a creature of habit. And the wraps seem very low carb friendly. Let's see. What street haven't I tried? Where will the menu lead me today?

YOOOOOO THIS PLACE FUCKIN BLOWS. And I say that because I never even got a chance to try their food. We waited two hours for a $17.96 order that never came. Lol, aren't you at least TRYINH to stay in business post-pandemic dude? The phantom bagel place. Judging by all the other reviews, I'm not surprised. How the FUCK is this place still in business?

They have good bagels but stink at making made to order sandwiches. Every time I order over the phone, something in the order is wrong.

This place is consistently good: fresh bagels, friendly and fast service, strong coffee, and several flavors of tofu cream cheese. It's my Tuesday morning between class jam and I love it. Great place!

Im tired of getting the orders wrong. Three ham and cheese TOASTED And they did not TOAST it! Ham and cheese cold as refrigerators. I call and i have to go and walk back again to get them to toast them. We also ordered a pinnaple juice, they made it a smoothie. We asked for juice with ice on it so it would be cold, last time it was in room temperature (who buys a pinnaple juice warm?) I paid really expensive for not taking responsibility. This happened to me for thrid time. They never offer to deliver to me to correct mistake. Adding to review: my girlfriend went back and asked to heat the crossaints and they were very rude to her. The guy from the kitchen started touching the crossaint with his hands. We also asked to put little ham and more cheese. And they didnt donit. I will talk to the owner of this place. Also, their receipt has no prices which is ilegal in NYC. I had to ask her to write down pricings by hand since receipt didnt have them. I paid my taxes on the receipt and i dont know what they charged me.

Always call ahead and place an order for a bacon egg and cheese. Way better than any other deli I've tried around here. Bagels are fresh and ingredients taste great. Not sure why all the negative reviews.

Ordered breakfast from Bagels by the Park. The bagel was very fluffy and chewy, tasted fresh. Scrambled eggs were good. Hot chocolate was nice and warm and not sweet which i prefer. Pastries we ordered were good, seemed fresh as well.

Great bagel spot that has been in the neighborhood my whole life. Only wish they stayed open a little later like the they used to before the pandemic.

This is our neighborhood bagel shop. We frequent BBP on the weekend and the bagels are quite good. We toggle between BEC bagel sammies and bagels with cream cheese. You can also get deli sandwiches, fresh pressed juices and coffee. Here are areas of improvement for this place: -- There are always many people behind the counter, but there is little organization or attention to detail. Sometimes my husband will write my order on a yellow sticky note and give it to them and still that doesn't guarantee it will be correct. -- There is a white board listing the types of cream cheese available, but no indication of price. It's surprising and frustrating to get plain cream cheese one day and soy cream cheese another day and get charged different amounts. If some are more expensive, that should be indicated somewhere. -- Bacon quality varies. Used to be pretty thick and lean. Lately, it's thin, mostly fatty and not cooked well (often burned).

I like Bagels by the Park. I really do. They're a neighborhood staple. Great location right above the north entrance to the Carroll Street F train station. They've continued to update & refresh the place over the 20+ years so it is always fresh & clean. Where they lose some stars is in the service department. They have a system for orders that should be more efficient but scribbling down your order on a piece of scrap paper and running it into the back for the grill person doesn't always work. I've often waited for a long time for a small order and it's wrong sometimes to boot. Come on?! The actual food is good quality and had been consistently. The coffee used to be awesome (a custom D'amico blend) but I'm not liking it lately. You could do worse, but I really wish the system could be developed.

First of all, i am about to order and a man comes right up and cuts me and orders. I said excuse me to the man and even tapped him on the shoulder. The guy working there sees all this and doesn't even say anything, when he clearly saw I was there first. -second, they toasted my bagel with the cream cheese on it so, technically the cream cheese can go bad. Third- they put BARELY ANY CREAMCHEESE. common, smack some CREAMCHEESE on my bagel- I shouldn't have to ask them to. I won't be returning.

Good and quick egg and bacon place. I've only ever ordered take out from here so unfortunately I cannot comment on the actual restaurant. The bacon and egg on a bagels are great, my only issue is that they missed part of my order last time I ordered.

Oy vey, the bagel situation here is making my Jewish-immigrant, Brooklyn-dwelling ancestors whirl in their graves. My first order: extra-well-done bagel with extra cream cheese. Served: barely warm bagel, a half-teaspoon of cream cheese, smeared only on one side (nooo!). My second order: I'll toast it myself at home, thanks, one quarter-pound container of cream cheese. Served: bagel, a half-empty container of cream cheese. Both times, chilly and indifferent customer service. Obviously you don't have to be Jewish to serve bagels, but kindly respect the SPIRIT of Jewish bagelry: be welcoming; oblige specific requests, fussy though they may be, and dispense schmear in quantities that make a person think "Praise be to G-d, I will never be hungry again."

I feel as though we're friends,* and so I should be perfectly honest with you: I only stopped in here because it was absolutely pouring and I needed to get out of the rain. The staff looked like they didn't care whether I bought something or not, whether I stayed or went, whether I lived or died...but what was I going to do, not get something to eat? It was time for second breakfast. So I got one of their specialty wraps with fresh mozzarella, turkey and sun-dried tomatoes. Although it looked as though all the ingredients to make said wrap were right there behind the counter, the guy disappeared into the back and came back about 10 minutes later with my order.** The wrap itself was quite small, but it tasted just fine. If I get caught in a downpour again, or another situation in which I need shelter and/or food directly next to Bagels by the Park, I'd do it again. ________________ *Best friends. Unless you need help moving. **For all I know, he could've gone to another deli to get it, but I'm going to assume he made it back there.

Terrible Service, Hard Bagels, rude Employees and LONG wait. First and last time here. Will be going somewhere else

This is my usual bagel place and I come here only because it is closest to my apartment. The bagels are nothing special. They're not stale or anything but just don't stand out by freshness or softness levels. The order process is a little chaotic, you order in one area and pay in another. The payment area has a line but for some reason, a line never forms in the ordering area and people get in front of each other and order even though they came in later. I've come in in the middle of the day as well when there are almost no people in the store and it still took forever to get my bagel thanks to the ridiculously slow pace of the cashier woman. I'd like to say I'll never return but like I said, it's the closest bagel shop to me. So to all you potential future bagel shop owners: there's an unsatisfied market just waiting for you to open your business.

This bagel store can NOT GET A ORDER RIGHT EVEN IF I WROTE IT DOWN. They never listen they do what they want always. Prices are always different when there's a new cashier. Nothing is a set price everyone makes their own prices up.

They had an odd menu board called "What's ailing you?" For acne, it recommended carrots and spinach. For diabetes, it recommended a carrot-celery-parsley mix. My husband had coffee and found it unmemorable. But I found this a convenient place to meet friends, as it's just outside the Carroll Street station. Also there were adorable dogs outside, always a plus.

I was craving a bagel! An Everything Bagel, with egg, jelly and vegetable cream cheese to be exact. I also wanted a salad. And I didn't want to leave my desk. Grub Hub to the rescue. lol. I found Bagels by the Park. Placed my order and everything was smooth until I decided to check the reviews on YELP. I started freaking out because the reviews weren't great and I really wanted to satisfy my craving. Before I could even finish dialing the number to cancel my order, the food was delivered to my desk. The Bagel was delicious! I enjoyed every bite. The salad was a bit basic. But hey Basic Salads are everywhere. I will definitely order from here again.

I stopped going to this place years ago after repeated terrible customer service. I decided to give it another shot today since it's been so long. I eat my bagel only to find a shard of wood mixed in with the cream cheese. I could not believe it. I could've chipped a tooth or god forbid my child ate it, she could've choked. When I called the store to tell them about this problem they could've cared less. One 'manager' I was speaking with actually had the audacity to pass off my call to another employee only for the employee to tell me the manager was busy. I'm sorry....what?? This was a major issue finding a huge splinter in my food and you're too busy to talk to me?? I could not believe it. The employee refused to give me the owners contact information. First saying he wasn't there, followed by him being out of town and then out of the country. It was a blatant lie. There was no sense of urgency or even close to a sincere apology from this store. I will absolutely never come back here and will make it a point to mention this experience to other neighbors. This shop is DIRTY and beyond unprofessional. I asked for the owner to return my call by lunch and I still have yet to hear from anyone. Health department is being called.

I have come here many times to get a bagel (and find them to be super fresh and delish). I have no complaint about the service. And In fact... the reason for my post is not the in restaurant the experience- we ordered for catering over the holiday. My daughter turned one and we had a brunch. The food and platters all arrived beautifully prepared, wrapped and festive. I felt so cared for and it really feels good to spend money with people who provide such impeccable service. Thank you thank you THANK YOU for being that extra touch that made our day kick off on the right foot.

WOW, Shocked to see how many bad reviews this place has. I honestly enjoy my breakfast here. I will admit There are deff some issues here. 1. Delivery for this place is horrible. The order usually comes messed up. it seems like if its an online order they don't really care about your food and its all half axxed. 2. The lines can get crazy 3. they go light on the bacon lol Other than that though....i love it...i always feels glad when i get my food and sometimes its a bit of a wait but its worth it. Bagels are FRESH, food is cooked well and considering how busy it gets several of the staff remember my order and even my BIRTHDAY..to me..that's good service

Just started frequenting this spot recently. The sandwiches are great! The juice bar and smoothie station are super affordable... and the blueberry, strawberry, banana smoothie is a favorite of mine! Only recommendation is that they improve their processes. They should have a faster/more efficient system in place for taking orders and building the sandwiches.

Food is quick and delicious and staff is very friendly & helful plus they have a cute cat.

Solid bagels, terrific vegan cream cheese (tofu cream cheese: with sundried tomatoes, scallions, or vegetables).

This place has the worst service I've ever experienced, and it only stays open because of its location. I have never received what I've ordered. You want it toasted? You'll get cold. You want cheddar? You get American. They continually serve me bacon even though I never order it, and as a vegetarian, that means the sandwich goes into the trash. When you go in, you'll see a line of confused angry people who don't know where to stand or how to order. The owner needs an intervention. My advice - just walk farther to Bergen bagels or use seamless somewhere else. This place ruins Saturday mornings for the neighborhood.

Smoothie tasted like straight up water. I got a strawberry banana smoothie and it was soooooo watered down I'm pretty sure they added a lot of ice bc I tasted little iced pieces. Defffff not the way to cut costs bc I actually want to enjoy my smoothie. I've been there a few times and the food is pretty unremarkable and they're kind of unfriendly

Dear Surly Teenage Girls Who Work Behind the Counter at Bagels By The Park: I'm sorry you hate your jobs. I really am. Is it your boss? He is always rude to me when I come in there, so maybe you learned it from him. Maybe he wrote the customer service manual. Does it say on page six that you should treat the customers like the scum of the earth for daring to order a bagel? And on what page does it say to stand around chatting and completely ignore customers (for a good 5 minutes) who want to place an order in an otherwise empty shop? I'm pretty sure page one says to NEVER smile or make eye contact with anyone, not EVER say please or thank you, and for god's sake make the customer's experience as miserable as possible. I get it--you're miserable, so we should be miserable too. Well after giving this neighborhood place chance after chance, I'm done. I guess I will need to find a new stroller-filled hell hole to get mediocre food and rude service.

I've been to bagels by the park a handful of times. The best way to describe them is "meh". If you don't *really* care if bacon makes it onto your bacon egg and cheese bagel, this could be the place for you! If you dont mind when that cheese transforms from the previously agreed upon pepperjack to Swiss, you've found a winner. When you place your order and that order has 4 or 5 components (including bagel type) you can expect 3 of those components to be correct. If you're into "choose your own adventure" breakfasts though, it could be a great place. Just say some things you might like to eat and the person behind the counter will decide which of those you actually get. Wrong orders is one thing, but complete inconsideration and assholery are another. Today I witnessed something that will guarantee I never step into Bagels By the Park again. I was fixing my coffee when the cashier comes over to the guy making bagels and says "hey, you made that woman wait for 30 minutes!" he laughed, she laughed, and then he went back to messing up people's orders.

If you want to get your day started off on a bad note, this is the place to go. I have tried it, again and again, hoping for better service - but with the exception of one young woman, I've never received a smile or a thank you or even a hint of politeness in the 10 or so times I've dropped in. I'm serious. As another girl wrote, you can tell they don't give a damn about you and this morning was the last time I'll set foot through the door. Do yourself a favor and visit one of the many other shops that are east of Smith, especially Mazzola's on Henry and Union Streets.

Last weekend, before heading to Coney Island, C. and I stopped here so I could get an egg and cheese. An egg and cheese I got, along with an orange juice, Tropicana carton-style. I ate it in the park that is its namesake. It was good. Simple food, just slightly more expensive than I'm used to. Recommended.

This place is so mixed for me. On one hand, the food is good and the staff are friendly. On the other...the management and daily operations are a dumpster fire, and the owner is definitely to blame. Two examples: 1) Today I saw him hand two plates of food to a waiting customer (not the customer whose order it was) and ask said customer to carry the plates to a table to two other waiting customers. Sorry, buddy: this is what paid employees are for. 2) The owner's micromanagement has been pointed out in other reviews. But when I say "micromanage," here's what I mean. He micromanages in a way that actually slows up service: again, today, I saw him take the cash that the cashier was handing to a customer, count it again and order it, then hand it to the customer. Absolutely not needed. He doesn't this with each transaction and it really seems like it's for his own piece of mind rather than to make customer's feel special. He's not contributing anything more than just standing there, "ensuring" that everything runs well. Always there, waiting for a mistake. While I waited he apparently didn't have anything to do because he just stood there, sleeping like a Macbook. Even with only a handful of customers and more than enough staff everyone working here seems flustered. Could it be that the lurking employer needlessly complicates things? I think so.

I've come here numerous times when in the area. The bagels are fresh, lines move quick and staff are friendly. The bagels are warm, fluffy on the inside and lightly crispy on the outside. What more do you want? Ps - they have a few different tofu cream chase options!

Good bagel sandwiches and smoothies. Very quick service and friendly staff. Clean sitting area to eat in. Decent service for delivery as well. Great for breakfast or lunch.

The ordering situation at Park Bagels confuses me. I'm an out-of-towner, and I'm always afraid of creating some embarrassing "clearly she's not from New York" scene at every place I go, but I don't think it's just me. You walk in and follow a sign that says "Order Here," which should be simple enough, but it gets confusing because there are too many signs: Bakery department, Deli department, Drinks... Maybe I was just too hung over to figure it out, but there were definitely others (who looked local) who seemed equally confused. On the plus side, my bagel with scallion cream cheese really hit the spot.

Let me sum up my review here so you can go along with your day if you don't have time: I walk out of my way for crappier bagels just because the service is so terrible here. The only thing saving this location from going defunct is the fact that they are LITERALLY next to the subway station. They do have tasty bagels, but it takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes to get a bagel with cream chee and the staff seems almost completely ambivalent towards how people in NY really need to get up and go. And the icing on the cake is that yesterday, I went in because I was really in a rush, and as I swipe my MetroCard and enter the turnstile, I open my bagel which is charred black on one side. The guy saw it, realized it probably shouldn't get sold, but completed my order anyway because I was off by the pay line not paying attention to how he made my bagel. I'll wait till I get into the city from now on to get a real bagel from a real establishment. If I wasn't so against protests, I'd be there right now.

To summarize, this place has a very convenient location but if you have time, go somewhere else. Please don't be fooled though, a visit here is not very quick. Positives: location, variety of food and drinks Negatives: The quality of food is just ok, quick breakfast orders take almost 10 minutes, pretty pricey for what you actually get, staff cannot be bothered with helping you

Totally mediocre. I had a breakfast wrap that was bland and watery. Same could be said for the coffee. Service was friendly, but there are better options for breakfast sandwiches in the area.

If this store was tucked away on a side street, no one would go. As one reviewer said, you go here because it's there, and when you walk out you say "I told myself I'd never go here again, what have I done?" But time and time again, you go back because, well, it's there, it's on the corner, i'll try and give it another shot. The owner profits off customers like this every day. Let's face it, Carroll Gardens lacks an exceptional bagel shop in proximity to the majority of the neighborhood. F Line bagels has great bagels and service, but it's a pain to walk to when you just want a quick coffee and bagel fix. From start to finish, Bagels By the Park is a lose-lose situation. I actually walk out angry after being served here. No exaggeration, it has the worst service in the entire neighborhood. As another reviewer said, a busy bagel shop should be a well oiled machine, coffee here, order here, and by the time you make it to the register, your sandwich is done, and out the door. This store is the exact opposite. On top of it, it's not like you're getting a great bagel experience. Yes, they serve average bagels, sometimes fresh, sometimes not. But I can't begin to tell you the few times that i've been in here, they're out of 'everything' bagels - how do you run out of bagels on a Saturday morning at 11AM? Or they end up forgetting your order all together. The orange-peeling cashier doesn't give a hoot, and the fifteen or so people they have in the kitchen don't either, or the abrasive owner/manager - who really doesn't seem to do anything except stand there. Why can't Carroll Gardens just have a decent bagel shop? Park Slope has Bagel World, Windsor Bagels, 7th Avenue Bagels etc. There's a new bagel place Mocha Bagels, opening right down the street on Smith, opening shortly. Let's cross our fingers that this place has good service, and more importantly, a good bagel. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Ordered from grub hub food was ice cold. Resturant didnt care and would not fully refund the order. Grub hub said there was nothing they could do if the restaurant didn't want to refund it.
