"Set amid the vines, and with a magnificent view of the vineyards and Eltville, the location is truly magical. In summer, the terrace is of course very popular. This restaurant run by Dirk Schröer and Amila Begic-Schröer is part of the Kloster Eberbach winery within the Rauenthaler Baiken. The chef's cooking is strictly classical and to the point. Relying on excellent, ultra-fresh ingredients, it includes dishes such as saddle of lamb with wild garlic, onion and aligot. The wine list is dominated by the Hessische Staatsweingüter. Tastefully understated decor in the three dining rooms and attentive service courtesy of a friendly and professional team ensure a pleasant atmosphere." - Michelin Inspector

Gutsausschank im Baiken

"Set amid the vines and with a lovely view of the vineyards and Eltville, this restaurant is worth a visit for its location alone. It goes without saying that the terrace is in great demand. The menu features delicious down-to-earth dishes made with regional produce and respect for the seasons. Attentive service comes courtesy of a friendly and laid-back front-of-house team. Tip: Be sure to reserve well in advance – they are almost always fully booked!" - Michelin Inspector

fantastic food, and a beautiful location in the vineyards, but somewhat rustic interiors. Cook Schroer took over an exceptionally located ensemble of houses belonging to the State vineyards. Unfortunately, part of the deal seems to be that he serves mainly or only State vineyard wines - but if you ask, they may make available other choices. Our 4 course menu was excellent - maybe topped by the amuse-geule of avocado/cucumber creme on top of a well-dressed veal tartare. The interior is not fit for a soon-maybe-starred restaurant. They also have a glassed-in patio with simple furniture and great views, and the nicest must be the outside tables. Very kind staff, super service

Wow! What a great place! Wines were great, views amazing, service great, food amazing, and the port I had with dessert was delicious! The creme brûlée was not my favorite, but everything else was so good. Highly recommend this place, just make sure to make reservations.

This is an amazing place! You will not be disappointed, however don’t take the right turn on the dirt road off the highway go down to the next road.

What a wonderful experience for lunch. We went to Baiken for a Sunday lunch which was delicious with a friendly staff that made for a great experience. I enjoyed the lamb, polenta, and white asparagus with a dry riesling for lunch and I was pleased with everything. The location is beautiful, and if you like to walk or hike what better than the vineyards and forest in this area finishing with a glass of wine and a bite to eat. I have also taken my bicycle here which was fun with a mix of paved, dirt, and cobblestone roads if you are pedaling from Wiesbaden. Again, service was warm and friendly which really made for my perfect afternoon. I will definately be back.

Great food and atmosphere at this Michelin rated restaurant. The service was excellent and friendly. It was very busy, so I recommend you make reservations. They do not accept credit cards, so bring enough cash. Definitely try the creme brulee.

Wonderful location embedded in wine yard with nice view on surroundings. Service is a friendly/ funny one composed of the local attitude. The menu is reflecting local ingredients, while these are well refined and sometimes not very common being a delicious surprise.

Yelp
Fantastic views, good food, slightly pricey. A lot of folks might say EUR20 is pretty heavy for Schnitzel with Bratkartoffel. They might be right. Generally speaking good quality food though and there is more on offer than just Gutbürgerlich. Decor is more rustic than erhoben. Basically it's all about a unique location, right in the middle of the weinberg and worth paying a few Euros more for in my opinion. Make sure your Navi ios in good working condition as you have to take the tractor trail to get there.

Yelp
If you ever want to experience terrible service, go here - It's a must! If you want to make it even worse for yourself, have the manager take care of your table - he will personally make sure your evening is miserable. On Saturday August 9th at 19:15, my wife and I was entering the terrace of Restaurant 'Gutsausschank im Baiken'. While I am checking our table reservation for 19:30 with one of the staff members, the manager himself runs quickly by with an empty tray towards the kitchen and at the same time telling me in the face No chance today, no chance.. This instead of greeting you as a customer and welcoming you to the restaurant, or simply asking, if I have a reservation. ...which I HAD. Running a wineyard Restaurant in Rheingau, this place is also able to: Give our reserved table to somebody else even though we were 15min too early. We had reserved THE corner table for 4 persons, it was given to somebody else. Refuse to make a long drink because they do not have it on the menu The 2nd excuse was that they do not have the ingredients (These very exotic ingredients are: Ginger ale, Riesling, crushed ice, lime). We had this drink in the same place 2 weeks ago. Serve you chilled Assmannshauser Spätburgunder 1-2 degrees Celsius. Yes, chilled white wine is great, but red.. Starter: Geschmolzener Ziegenkäse im Speckmantel mit Salatnest vom gelben Löwenzahn, Tomaten und Kräuter in Honig-Senf-Vinaigrette comes with black bread - because it is burnt nicely under your Ziegenkäse. All three portions had this black bread, so it was all about consistency, not the taste nor appearance. Serve raw chicken Recook the chicken and bring the same chicken back when the rest of the group has finished their main course 45 minutes ago Bring the desert in two stages, the people who ordered schnapps, get their desert 30 min earlier than the ones without schnapps We told the manger in a decent manner that we wish not to be charged for the schnapps and the sorbet. We saw the manager jump in his car and driving away. We had to ask for the bill twice, we were charged for everything = EUR180, also the wine. I gave the waiter EUR190 in cash, hoping she would return with EUR10, this did not happen. We left.
