The 15 Best Restaurants & Bars On Bainbridge Island - Seattle - The Infatuation

"If you missed your ferry but aren’t a wine fan, have some beer at Bainbridge Brewing. They serve a few different types of house-made beers as well as guest taps from Seattle places like Urban Family. We like the grapefruit IPA, especially while sitting on a couch and playing board games. If you are, in fact, good at reading boat schedules and just want some beer, this is perfect for that, too." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Where to Eat in Bainbridge Island | Eater Seattle

"I like the Bainbridge Brewing Alehouse for its indoor and outdoor seating and for pouring craft beer from their nearby brewery alongside other northwest brewers, with a fine selection of Pacific Northwest wine and cider, and it’s conveniently located right next door to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art." - Jay Friedman

Google
This is a solid small town type brewery. The taproom itself is very nice, the service was great. As for beers they have a good lineup of some well executed standards (pale ale, stout, hazy etc). The most creative beer I saw on the menu was the marionberry wit, but I did think the marionberry flavor was a little too subtle on that one.

Agnes H.

Google
We had a great afternoon watching football. The taproom is beautiful and bright, lots of great beers in tap and local wines. We really enjoyed their snacks and the service was fantastic.

Brittany F.

Google
Bartenders were extremely inconsiderate and rude!! The negativity from them was not worth the beer. My kids FaceTimed me and the bartender told me it was house policy that I needed to hang up the phone. Claimed I was being extremely rude because everybody at the bar could hear my conversation. I told him I was going to finish the conversation with my kids first. He then proceeded to mumble under his breath and continuously complain about it. I 100% would never return their establishment.

Google
The drinks were good, and the music they were playing was phenomenal! And the Georgetown Orbits are gonna be here in a couple weeks! Definitely coming back for that!

Vincent F.

Google
Great selection of beers and the service was fantastic! Was my first visit to the island and, must say that this brewery is a must during your visit. Highly recommend this spot, and you won’t be disappointed!

Nestor V.

Google
Fine place to grab a beer after a bike ride around the island. The in-house beer is decent, and they also have a variety of other local beers too. Close to the ferry, travel time is low. Chill vibe, and fine selection of beers. Not sure if the N/A beer was on tap, but it idd arrive in a chilled glass. Lots of communal tables, a few booths, some private tables, and even a bit of outdoor seating.

Jeremy Y.

Google
Relaxing place to grab a beer or light snacks while waiting for the ferry back to Seattle. They also allow food in from nearby restaurants if you want something more substantial. Beers were cold and tasty!

Kethnie M.

Google
Amazing beer. Friendly staff. Large tvs for game watching. Long communal tables to accommodate big parties. Indoor outdoor space. Many nooks here to hang out. Great merchandise as well

Yelp
After grabbing lunch, we figured a trip to Bainbridge Brewing is in order. The brewery is on Winslow close to the Ferry terminal. Of their 16+ selections of brews, we decided to do the sampler with the #3 Arrow Point Amber, #5 Shore Power Hazy Pale, #13 Barrel Aged Imperial Stout and the #16 Viognier Blonde Sour. The #5 was the best followed by #3. The Stout and the Sour was true to flavor but unfortunately not for us. The service was fantastic and the staff was very knowledgeable. Lots of seating with sports.

Yelp
I've been frequenting Bainbridge Brewing for a couple of years now, a nice pub where you'll run into many a local. The brewery is right downtown, really close to the ferry terminal. I love their Eagle Harbor IPA, a West Coast IPA that is quite tasty (but not overwhelmingly hoppy). I'm also a fan of their Kömmuter Kölsch, which is refreshing, especially on summer days. They have a large selection of their own brews, as well as those from elsewhere in the region. To encourage folks who use the ferry to stop by, they have a ferry clock above the bar, which tells you just how long until the next ferry departs (and how far along the one that just departed is.) It let's you know just how quickly you need to drink that last brew before you have to skedaddle! Staff is friendly and accommodating. Despite the smallish space, they have a lot of places to sit, with some long tables in the middle where folks tend to sit together and mingle. Note: It's difficult to know when they close. Usually it's around 9, but it can be a lot earlier if it's slow, or later if it's busy. (I've missed them once because I assumed 9, only to show up around 8:45 and find them closed.)

Yelp
Excellent service, the snacks were a perfect match for all the types of beer that were recommended to us. Thank you, guys!

Yelp
Great neighborhood brewpub. At least I. The off-season. Food was great, but we just ordered some apps. Service was excellent.

Yelp
When exploring Bainbridge Island, this is a great spot to grab a beer-even better on the patio in nicer weather. When we stopped in, it was a warm day and the Kolsch definitely hit the spot.

Alyssa H.

Yelp
Very disappointed. I planned a day trip to Bainbridge island for my partner's birthday and we were looking forward to ending the day by trying a flight of beer. A staff member approached us to ask for our IDs, took them, then refused to serve us citing that it was illegal for them to take vertical IDs (we are both over 21). They didn't even ask if we had another form of ID (I have a horizontal passport card), they just kicked us out. We love trying beer and have gotten flights from a dozen other breweries in Seattle without any issues. Overall I felt very unwelcome and super disappointed in the experience.

Yelp
Was going through an afternoon in Bainbridge and needed to kill some time before dinner, so I decided to stop by for a beer at Bainbridge Brewing Alehouse which was a positive experience! Although they did not have a kitchen or any real food to pair with the beer, they had an extensive beer list ranging from light beers to more bold stouts while even having some non alcoholic kombuchas as well. I went with the winter ale and thought it was great! The ambiance is extremely welcoming with tons of seating as well as cards/board games that people are able to play while they have their drinks and enjoy light snacks. For me, the service was extremely relaxed and down to earth which was nice as I never felt rushed out to go to my next place or to be moved for another party of people heading in. Overall, great experience and would recommend to anyone around the island looking to grab a beer!

Yelp
Whenever I go to a brewery, my first instinct is to order a beer flight. I tried out a flight of four flavors: Yorkshire Nitro Pale Ale, Kommuter Kolsch, Cider- Channel Marker (Spiced Blackberry), and Cider- Dragon's Head (Wild Fermented). I'm not the biggest expert on beers, but I'll talk about my winner out of these four selections: the Cider- Channel Marker (Spice Blackberry). This beer had an appropriate amount of bitterness, and I felt like every sip was like eating a freshly-picked blackberry. I also noticed that this beer was on the fizzier side, which I always enjoy in my beverage. Don't be shy to ask the bartender for recommendations. I found him super helpful because I don't have the most experienced palate for beer tasting. The atmosphere of the alehouse is cozy.

Mike E.

Yelp
Good beer, nice location, and pleasant outdoor seating. Also enjoyed the cheese plate - reasonably priced.

Yelp
Nice brewery! It's located downtown. They have a good selection of beers and ciders. I had the blonde which was light and crisp. We shared the smoked salmon and Gouda which was a perfect snack. I'd stop by again sometime!
google avatar

Peyton K.

Yelp
Quick beer-tenders, tasty beer, and live music... what more could you want? I tried several beers and they are all clean which is rare imo. They do a great job here. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area. I came back for another before turning in for the night! They also have a small selection of snacks in case you're hungry.
google avatar

Yelp
Beer. Warm. Dog friendly. Great bartender. That's all you really need for a great spot. We took a plane, train (rail) a boat and needed a drink before jumping in a car for 45mins. This was a great spot! Around that 545 hour it had a good amount of locals inside for a Thursday and being a tiny town. Beers on tap. Beers in a bottle. Beers to purchase and the ciders too.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here on our way back to the ferry. The bartender was a great guy who gave us a lot of good insight. Wish they had their Barleywine on tap at this location, because we didn't have time to hike up to their taproom. Anyway their Battle Point Stout and Nitro Cream Ale were solid beers. They also had some guest beers available in addition to their own creations. I recommend this as a stop if you take the ferry across to the island. Very cool seating area and lots of neat swag available.
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
Very unfriendly place. Beers were good but the front of the house needs a lesson in customer service. Attitude is everything. Good or bad.
google avatar

Kevin F.

Yelp
Very conveniently located, even walking distance from the ferry, great stop on your way into downtown, next to the art museum. Friday late afternoon/evening's they have live music to enjoy with their good selection of brews, wines, and ciders, great seating inside and out , outside you can even hear a few more bands playing at the museum or toward downtown. I had already tried a few of their tasty brews, during previous visits to the area, as they are available in cans locally , so this time , actually at the brewery I tried the Clear Water Reserve IPA... so good! Just a great balanced IPA, hoppy but not overly, very refreshing and crisp... worth getting a crowler to enjoy at home. Service was very friendly, helpful, and quick on the pours. Definitely recommend stopping by for a cool one while enjoying the fun downtown of Brainbridge. So catch that ferry outta Seattle and enjoy the cool ride over, stop in, enjoy a few beers and take an adventure through Brainbridge downtown, you will not regret it! Cheers!

Yelp
My husband and I visited Bainbridge Island by ferry while spending some time in Seattle. We headed over on the 12:00pm ferry, just in time for a beer when we got there. We were pleasantly surprised to find this brewery right on the walk to downtown. We decided to stop, why not. We quickly went inside and was greeted by some down to earth workers and really rustic feel, We ordered a couple of beers to get our day started and found a table outside. We sat down and enjoyed the cooler air, changing leaves, and people walking by. While the beer I chose wasn't my favorite, my husband seemed to like their selection much better. He is actually a better judge of beer than I am. We closed out our tab and continued to head into town. Thoroughly enjoyed the stop and how relaxed the vibe was at this little alehouse.

Yelp
Went here for a quick drink before the ferry back to Seattle. Unlike other reviews, I did not have a bad experience at all, though I only got one drink as there was only 30 min before the next ferry, and we brought a car. I asked the bartender for recommendations and got the Kommuter Kolsch, which is quite crisp and refreshing. At $7.50 for a pint, it was not too bad. It was one of the easier beers to drink. I also liked the aesthetic of this place - some cabin-like vibes. There are a lot of wine and breweries around - you likely won't go wrong with any of them, based on the busy-ness of each one, so take your pick and I would like to know which one is the most favorite!

Yelp
To summarize; you come to Bainbridge to enjoy the wine scene. Beer isn't the focus and the local beer is at best, aggressively middling and at worst mediocre. BI Brewing's IPAs are really nothing special. Their sours taste generic. If you want a really good local sour, Old Stove in Seattle has got you. And to top it off, their staffers are nice to a clique of locals and indifferent to everyone else. Locals alone won't keep you all in business.
google avatar

Gregg R.

Yelp
Just stopped in for a quick one as this was right next to the Bainbridge Museum and shares some of the same space. Nice variety of beers and they also do flights so that you may sample some of the local favorites in one seating. Pleasant bartender and fast and friendly service.
google avatar

Laurie V.

Yelp
This 21+ spot is great. The staff was helpful and kind. It's a chill environment. They have snacks (no meals) to go with your beer. There's also a wine tasting room in the space next to it if beer isn't your jam. A great oasis for those who are child free! Another bonus is that it's close to the ferry terminal.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
We came here for an afternoon drink on the patio and some light bites. We wish the guy working could have told us more about the brewery or the beers they made but he didn't really offer up anything when we asked if he could tell us a little about the beers on tap. He just said "what do you want to know.".....we were like "you know just about the beers you guys make"....nothing. Most places will offer up what's popular, what's their flag ship, what's new, tasting notes, this or that, you know???? We didn't feel like very informed customers and just got whatever.
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
Enjoyed afternoon beers at Bainbridge Brewing after walking the main street. Located right by the ferry dropoff, we were able to grab beers and sit inside. The rooftop (if you can call it that) is weirdly reserved for the winery, not really sure how that all shakes out. Prices were a little high and we ordered from the bar and sat at one of the tables. Beer was just ok. Overall the ambiance was "chain hotel lobby" vibe. It was pretty good overall, not really the formulaic warehouse style brewery.
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
Pretty neat place to relax and wait for the ferry back to Seattle! It's about 5 minutes walk there. They offer beer flights so you can explore and those that don't like beer, there's a wine list and some pretty tasty ciders.

Kyle B.

Yelp
Jeff was a stellar beer tender! He is exactly what you look for at a brewery and they are lucky to have him!

Owen A.

Yelp
Staff was super rude. They were impatient with our group and were not professional at all. Would recommend to check out somewhere else
google avatar

Kayla M.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! It was my first time on Bainbridge and my mom had recommended this spot. It was a gorgeous cool fall day and plenty of open seating for a Saturday. The staff was super friendly and even allowed me to charge my phone behind the bar while we looked at merch and sipped our brews. We tried a couple different ones between the two of us and was not disappointed. The merch and beers were all decently priced for how cool this place was. Looking forward to coming back on my next trip!
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
Good selection of beer- half are local to Bainbridge island which is awesome and I believe more than half are from Washington or the PNW. The best part were the selection of games they had- including old timey board games and more modern ones like battleship and scattegories. My boyfriend and I spent a large junk of our time on the island at this brewery because the vibes were very chill and we had a fun and nice time relaxing on the comfortable couch area playing battleship and drinking the cider from Oregon (the Prickly Pear cider- highly recommend).
google avatar

Alice Z.

Yelp
pretty convenient location, right near the ferry stop. service was good. we didn't have to wait very long. atmosphere was interesting. the beer flight was cool, got to try a variety of their on-tap ciders and beers. we also got some crackers and cheese. prices are good, you get your money's worth.
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
Very quaint but big and loud. Took the ferry to Bainbridge island and the locals recommended this place. They had an amazing array of beers and snacks. The bartender was friendly and asked us what type of beers we liked, to gauge our palette. I had the pilsner and my friend a cider. They both were great and had a smooth taste and deep hoppy flavor.

Winston W.

Yelp
With a surly behind the counter beer dude staring at me with no smile or offering no greeting, I ask what dark beers they offer. The beer dude utters, "Number 9." I order one and my buddy orders a Bainbridge Nitro Stout. Both were so bad that we left the glasses half full. I've never left a beer glass half full. In this case, I would have emptied a PBR before finishing this swill. Bad beer coupled with poor service will get you poor reviews and possibly a one-way paid ticket down Chapter 11 highway. Shake the attitude boys. It's beer, not building pyramids or landing Perseverance on Mars.

Lisa M.

Yelp
We visited the brewery on a recent family road trip. We visited both locations and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance in both. The service was great and the staff at both locations were friendly.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
One of the bartenders with long hair cut my friend off for drinking his second drink too fast! What the heck!!! I'm taking my business elsewhere!
google avatar

Chelsea R.

Yelp
Went to Bainbridge Brewing on a work trip as a "team event". The trip over on the ferry from Seattle was fun and had great scenery. The brewery is walkable from the ferry which is really nice as a visitor. The brewery itself is really cute and was a great spot to fit a larger group in the middle of the day. The beer was great, I enjoyed the Kolsch on tap and really appreciated the wine options as well. However, I would have loved to have more food options. They really only offered small snacks such as cheese and crackers.
google avatar

Gabby G.

Yelp
We were visiting Seattle and decided to see Bainbridge island. This alehouse looked nice with the outdoor patio so we tried it and the beers were great! I tried the cider beer and I liked it. Also the smoked salmon was pretty good!
google avatar

Sweet Berry F.

Yelp
staff is rude and in need of hospitality training. as a local i won't be back as there are many better options.

William R M.

Yelp
Beer is good. Looks like they had some decent little snacks/apps to order. However, it feels like you're drinking in a library. Way too chill for me

Kale K.

Yelp
Great service at the bar. Good beer. Patio was so busy by 615 on Thursday. Fun place for great weather

Marrae R.

Yelp
Could have been 5 but rude staff! Shouldn't assume when someone asks a question they are naive to craft beers! Also, if you are working with the public have some manners and patience to your patrons! Beer was great!

Mike B.

Yelp
This place has a great location and great beer! Highly recommend! The staff is helpful and will let you try beers before you buy.
google avatar

Victoria S.

Yelp
Awesome! I spend maybe too much time in breweries on weekends, but I don't waste time in bad ones. This place was great! Mostly just beer, some snacks. Games galore, which is something I always look for in a brewery/ale house. The place is also dog-friendly and has window walls for an open feel. I highly recommend going here, especially since it's basically the first stop on the walk from the ferry to the rest of the town.
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
Super awesome brewery! Very modern and unique. The bartender was amazing she helped me a lot during my selections of flights. We took a fairy here to get the experience and it was well worth it. The people were super friendly and it was very relaxing. We chilled here and got two flights of local brew. They have a deal with a fish restaurant nearby and they deliver for free so we got to hang and have a beer while we waited for that. They came within 15-20 mins and delivered right to the lounge seating we were at. Everything was on point and it was a great way to enjoy something new.
google avatar

Lora M.

Yelp
We decided to come here while exploring bainbridge! Pretty typical brewery. They have both beer and a few ciders and some wine options. I had their gose and it was good. They also have games you can play while you drink
google avatar

Meghan P.

Yelp
Great beer, cool atmosphere, friendly bartenders. This space is the first thing as you come into town off the ferry so it's a perfect spot as you come into town. There's lots of games and indoor and outdoor seating.
google avatar

Breanna G.

Yelp
The only option of GF beer was a Ghostfish pale ale. They warned me with having celiac against the cider options. Great ambiance abd quick service. Both inside and outside seating. Right outside the art center so the two combined together to provide live music. If you don't mind a pale ale option, definitely give this place a try.
google avatar

Jacob N.

Yelp
My friends and I are on a trip up to this beautiful city for a friends wedding. We had a lovely dinner up there street and heard good things about this place while we wait for our ferry. As soon as I get there the bartender is the most unprofessional staff member I have ever seen. I run a fine dining restaurant and I realize this is a local dive bar but I was still appalled with the bartenders complete disregard for professionalism. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Too many nice breweries in the area.

Kyle L.

Yelp
Im In town for the weekend, and decided to stop by for some local craft beers from my home town. first of all, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about their products. Excellent people. secondly, every single Bainbridge Brewing beer is podium worthy! one can really tell the care that goes into these beers. and lastly, I left my headphones here, and when found. the staff went through the trouble of finding my contact to let me know my item was found. if you are just traveling through, or even a local. I highly recommend making sure to stop here. For the staff, the ambiance, and the beautiful craft beer. 10/10

Bruce L.

Yelp
Great spot with great beer. Loved the flights and how you get to chose with chalk on the flight tray. Excellent experience for a small group. Perfect location near ferry and first stop into town.
google avatar

Mitchell N.

Yelp
Don't visit this place. They wouldn't serve myself and my sisters fiends because we brought in an empty bottle of wine from the place next door ( my sister wanted to keep the bottle for the memories because I haven't seen her in 3 years). I proceeded to tell them that the bottle was empty and they walked us out of the bar. Seriously unsatisfactory.i would give this spot zero stars
google avatar

Joel U.

Yelp
Pretty cool place. A large selection of beer and the bar tender was very helpful and great at explaining the beers. I like that they had some simple food choices to snack on.
