"This Queen Village bar is casual but not divey, which makes it the perfect place to grab a few post-work drinks with anyone from a coworker to your boss - as long as your boss isn’t the kind of person who expects a glass of champagne to be hand-delivered to them upon arrival. They specialize in beer here, and all of their 20-something rotating drafts are half-priced until 6:30pm on weeknights. It also makes for a great place to have a drink and watch the game since they have a bunch of TVs here." - Sydney McElwee

We’ve been here a few times...for brunch, happy hour, and dinner. The generous portions and quality of food exceed expectations for a local pub, and whiskey and beer selection are solid. In fact, you can pick a flight of either. Additionally, they organize specials around holidays and sporting events. One star deduction for quality and speed of service (as others have mentioned). Stop by and check it out! Response to Owners: Thanks for reaching out! We’ve sat in the dining area twice, and both times the guy who took care of us was slow with the drink order and never checked on the quality of food (although everything was great). Specifically, he left our drinks in the well for a good amount of time, and then actually didn’t ask if we wanted another round after the meals hit. I’m sorry, neither of us remember a name or extremely useful description, but he had short dark hair and was working last night. Our bartender last night (male, long hair) was great!

Came in right before they stopped serving brunch (kitchen closes for an hour to get ready for dinner service) & the host & waiter were quick to get me seated. Was able to order a drink & food 15 minutes before the kitchen closed & no one seemed upset about it. The food was delicious and didn't seem rushed to get the last order out. Will be back!

This is a fantastic place! Their Barrel House Burger 2.0 is the best burger I have had in my entire life. Totally blew me away! Well-seasoned mix without an overlarge patty, delicious sauce, and roasted tomatoes (proportioned well). They also have a creative rotating draft menu with plenty of local favorites, and excellent surprises you don't see on many other local bars. Excellent happy hour. Great friendly service. Great Bloody Marys. Make this your neighborhood spot!

Not only is the restaurant an eye catcher from the outside with it's interesting barrel revolving door, but the inside is a very nice atmosphere. It feels like a nice suburban brunch place you'd bring your family, but also has a bar vibe. The staff are all very friendly and the food and drinks are AMAZING. Sat there not sure if I wanted sweet or savory and luckily they had the French Toast Burger to satisfy both needs. Whoever though of putting cream cheese on a burger and sandwiching it with two pieces of French toast deserves a medal. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. Will definitely go back here with more friends and family.

After reading all the great reviews we decided to give the Barrel House a try. We made reservations, we arrived at 6 pm on a Saturday and the place was already packed and extremely loud. We asked to be seated outside because of this and the hostess was very kind and accommodating and set us up. The waitress took our orders. We waited for over an hour and our food still was not served. We asked and the waitress told us she did not know when our order would be up. We asked her to please bring us some chips at least because we had two very hungry little boys waiting patiently. This took a long time and ultimately she brought two small Styrofoam bowls with a few chips in each. Inside we noticed only two guys working in the kitchen and many people at inside tables waiting for orders. After about 20 more minutes, no food so we paid for the few drinks we ordered and left, found another restaurant not too far away and got waited on immediately. We are not upset with the wait staff who were very nice, so one star for them, but it was clear you were understaffed and there was no manager around to speak with. We also noted several other would be customers walking out leaving their empty tables. We will not be going back. (This is the first time I have ever written a bad review for a restaurant, but I think it needed to be done.)

This is a really fun place. Excellent selection of craft beers. Decent food. A lively ambiance yet with sufficient control that one can have a conversation without having to shout. Parking is always a bit tough to find, but there are parking lots available in the South Street area. I think this is a really good place to meet friends and have a casual time out.

This place has the most amazing food! Everything is made in house from scratch. The General Tso’s cauliflower is the perfect blend of spicy & sweet. My partner got a Sally Smothers Burger, it was fantastic. Good atmosphere & great draft beer selection.
