The Best Soft Serve In Seattle, Ranked - Seattle - The Infatuation

"One of the best spots in town for sashimi, dumplings, and marinated wagyu cooked on a sizzling hot rock unveiled a soft serve operation known as Baiten. Whereas other spots in town obsess over inventive base flavors, Baiten sticks with a classic, mellow vanilla—and gets wild with the toppings instead. You'll find syrups ranging from black sesame to thick mango jelly, sundaes involving mochi and cookies, and iced hoji latte floats. We like to keep it simple with their matcha syrup, which is deeply bracing and counteracts the sweetness pretty perfectly." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

The Best Ice Cream in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"This Japanese-style dessert window is attached to the popular izakaya Tamari Bar, and dishes soft serve alongside fruit sandos on Fuji Bakery milk bread and other rotating sweets. The soft serve comes in one flavor, vanilla, which you can enliven with an assortment of syrups and toppings. The 21-plus Toki whiskey syrup is particularly memorable, the slight smoky burn of the booze softened to a pleasant caramel buzz by the velvety sweet base. Bits of rusk — a twice-baked cookie reminiscent of a graham cracker — add satisfying crunch. The sundaes are elaborate, slightly intimidating affairs packed with custards, jellies, sauces, and powders, but they’re ideal for a group of two to four." - Sophie Grossman

I recently visited this Japanese café and it ended up being such a pleasant surprise. The matcha floats were incredible. The matcha itself was rich and smooth, and the vanilla soft serve was super creamy. They serve it in their special Valimaki style, where you can add things like hojicha or extra matcha on top, which makes it even better. The Japanese fruit sandwiches were another favourite. The bread was soft, the fruit was fresh, and the whole thing looked almost too pretty to eat. Honestly, every item that came out was so photogenic. If you love matcha, Japanese treats or just really Instagrammable food, this café is definitely worth a visit. P.S. the handwritten ‘arigato gozaimasu’ on each paper bag is a really thoughtful and amazing attention to detail!

Such a lovely spot! Service was quick, and the matcha soft serve was scrumptious and I enjoyed the vibe of the patio area. I had the strawberry cream sandwich and the matcha red bean and they’re both a 10/10. Highly recommend stopping by on your day out!

The soft serve here was perfect! I got the hojicha and matcha soft served. Both were unique and high quality. I would love to come back and try the other flavors.

This review is on their softserve only and does not include sandwiches. So excited about trying their softserve and sundae, perhaps my expectation was a bit too high? We had dinner a block away and walked over for dessert. Who wouldn't want softserve on a hot day? We got a black sesame softserve and a sundae. The softserve itself was just ok. The black sesame syrup was a bit too sweet and you can't really taste anything else. The sundae has more components : mochi in green tea powder, red bean, pocky stick, cookie, and held up better. Overall as softserve goes, it's not as good as Indigo cow's Hokkaido milk softserve. I think with softserve, quality of milk really matters.

I ordered strawberry and banana related sandwich. They tastes good. But it has too much of cream(whip cream), which makes it not a healthy option.

The best soft serve ice cream I’ve ever had. I had the yuzu flavor and my friend got the kuro goma (black sesame). The base is the same for both—dense, creamy, and super satisfying. The difference comes from the syrup on top. The yuzu was really refreshing. The flavor was bright and citrusy without being too strong or too sweet. Just a really nice balance. The kuro goma was also great. They grind the sesame in-house, and you can really taste that deep, nutty flavor. It didn’t taste artificial at all—just rich and smooth. I also tried the 206 curry, which is their original Japanese-style curry rice. It had a good amount of spice, but for me it was a little too salty. Still, the flavor overall was solid. I’d definitely go back just for the soft serve. It really stood out (Hot take: liked it better than Indigo cow)

This is easily the best soft serve I've ever had. The kuro goma had such a deep, roasted, nutty aroma that paired perfectly with the light and creamy vanilla soft serve. The lady serving us was super polite and friendly, too. I cannot wait to treat myself here again.

Place to try Japanese soft serve and desserts. We tried 3 flavors Matcha, Black sesame and Yuzu (Japanese citrus), and they were same base of vanilla ice cream with different syrups. Matcha flavor was light compared to other two but we liked all three. Would like to try again with topping options.
