Baja Cali Fish & Tacos (Pasadena-Lake Ave)

Went on a Tuesday to grab their 5 fish tacos for $5.55. It did not disappoint. The fish tacos were tasty and well seasoned. They could've used more coleslaw and tomatoes though. The rice was also good but a bit too greasy. The beans were okay, nothing special. The red sauce they give you is pretty good and the green sauce seems more spicy than the red one. Will be coming back. They have a Parking lot and the service was fast.

There new Breakfast Burritos are really good, like homemade style and they are pretty big too. And really good customer service.

Best tacos and service! Gabi is absolutely Amazing 👏🏻 We came here a year ago after stagecoach and the tacos were so good we had to come back this year... We stopped in on our way to stagecoach thur evening and then came by on our way back home today (we live for good tacos) worth the 6.5 hour drive from home! Gabi was working again and she remembered our order and is just a super kind and friendly person. Definitely looking forward to our trip down next year!

The food was hot and fresh. I did a phone order, which was good, because there was a line after I arrived. They were operating a limited menu, so no vegetarian optiobs when I went. I ordered four fish tacos and the cucumber lime drink. My only issue was there were no limes included with the fish tacos. Thankfully I had some limes at home. FYI check your take-out order before you leave. The juice was a perfect blend of sweet and tart. Overall a good experience and I will be back.

Now open for business on Lake Avenue! Baja Cali Fish & Tacos is my wife's favorite inexpensive fish taco chain. It is also a go to spot for many of our friends because of the daily specials. We were excited to get tacos on the grand opening day for this new location right here in our neighborhood.

Delicious fish tacos 🌮. I love the way they make them. The strawberry juice was tasty. They have no restrooms here.

Great place for lunch. If you only have .30,min, this is your place. You are in and out within minutes. The food is fresh and affordable compared to locations around it. I strongly recommend this place.

Solid Baja style shrimp and fish taco spot. Great daily deals to load up on some tacos. Came here on a Thursday and got the 8 shrimp tacos deal for $15. Also ordered the shrimp cocktail which was a refreshing addition to my meal. Service was great, food was made to order and quick. Walk in spot only no drive thru, with good seating inside and some table outside. Not a lot of fish taco spots in the area, and this place is pretty good imo.

Great spot for lunch in Pasadena! I personally love the surf and turf burrito and their cucumber agua Fresca. Service is friendly! John, Gabby and Osvaldo were very kind & prepped my order quickly.

Food is good and the tacos are big (not the tiny street taco size). Go on Tuesdays for their fish taco deal (as of today it's $1.59 per fish taco or 5 for $7.50). Service was good and quick. There's seating inside and outside. There's a parking lot right in front of it.

This place is amazing. I come here almost every week and both the cook and the cashier, Camille are extremely kind and welcoming. They both are patient and always give us great suggestions on what to get. The food is delicious, we love the fish tacos, bowls, and burritos. If we ever have any requests or adjustments they always help us with it! The food always comes out quick and hot and they are always the perfect portions. We also love the seating area, comfortable chairs, nice tables, and always great music playing. The place is also always kept clean. There is a good amount of parking also.

Love this place. Esp on Tues they have deals on fish tacos. Their service is good. If you want condiments, lime, or salsas, just ask. :-) Highly recommend this place!

Had a hankering for some fish tacos and ordered from Baja Cali Fish and Tacos. About 7 locations in SoCal and most in SGV. The Surf and Turf bowl had shrimp and carne asada over rice and beans with avocados, very good. The shrimp taco kept its crunch, very good especially with the green salsa. The fish taco platter was also very tasty plus fries and a drink. The queso birria was great, crunchy and really tender filling. Overall, very good and will definitely order from again.

Juni was really nice and helpful. He greeted us w a smile and made sure everything was in the bag before we had even gotten a chance to ask. I recommend going on Taco Tuesday and getting some fish tacos. Love it here!

Typical fast food joint. They do have some unique Mexican hybrid options like Al pastor chicken or Al pastor fish. The people at the cashier were fair with service, nothing spectacular but it is fast food. The chicken tacos may be of super value but it did get my stomach a little upset probably due to the amount of grease these items are soaking in. The place is clean and located across from The Hat. They do close early which doesn't make it a good late-night option.

Great customer service from JOSE Food came out fast . & They brought it to our table . nice & Hot . just the way i ordered never no mistakes here . they always get my order right . they always repeat my order back to me to make Sure it's correct . Very clean Restaurant . and very friendly .

Fish tacos were good and consistent with other location that we normally go to. They were out of the shrimp cocktail so we got the mixed ceviche. For the price, it was rather small and mostly had imitation crab. I would not recommend. Parking lot can get busy because it is shared with another business.

I really enjoy the fish tacos here, and buy them regularly. But, when I want to splurge a little, I get the ceviche tostada and/or the shrimp cocktail. The tostada is piled high with tasty ceviche; I usually use a knife and fork instead of trying to pick it up. And the cocktail is more like gazpacho that is full of good sized (two-bite) shrimp. Eat it with a spoon to get all the goodness! And this from a person who, as a rule, does not like anything with tomatoes in it.

Came here after a quick stop over at the Villa Verde Community Center down the street to grab a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I opted for a shrimp burrito which is one of my go to favorites on the road and I gotta say it was excellent. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the lady who helped me at the register was extremely polite and courteous. I will definitely be coming back!

Food was good and fast. Service by Juni was ecen better. Their burritos are huge and so good. We will definitely comeback next time we're on this side of town.

I like the food here. It is such a shame that there is no competition that offers Taco Tuesday specials in the Pasadena area. On two separate occasions, I tried to use their website to order food. The website times you out and still charges you. On a recent visit in October, I thought that the first time was just an anomaly. I utilized it again and again it did not work. This time, I went into the store and spoke to the Wednesday from the Addams Family worker who was running the cash register. She admitted that she saw my online order and just ignored it. WHO DOES THIS?! I guess in the future, I would have to adjust to come into the restaurant before the lunch rush!

This place is the best kept secret in Altadena. I've passed by this place several times and I walked in. Ate here for the first time and have come back many times just within the last couple weeks. The food is amazing. Customer service is awesome. Spoke to a friendly staff member named John. The guy is cool as ever, very personable. I'm very impressed by the staff and happy to eat here every day if I could. Highly recommend for everyone to come check out the food! PS shout out to Gabby thank you for the amazing customer service and hooking up the refill for Horchata. Bachata looks a bit diluted so Gabby gave me a completely new cup refill. Such an amazing customer service thank you crew

They do good work here. The Baja Cali Burrito (fish, shrimp, carne asada) always pleases and is easily two meals.

The food, drinks, and service is chefs kiss. We orders fish tacos and fish and chips, everything was perfectly breaded and moist. Definitely recommend everyone to try this restaurant, especially because the chile is BOMB!!

Baja Cali came to my neighborhood and I'm delighted at the convenience. Today marks my second visit since opening, mainly because I can never get there before closing. Anyhow, I of course ordered the fish tacos and tried the birria Dorados. Both were really good! As you probably already know, Baja has these amazing Chili's that are usually self serve at their other locations. I asked the gentleman handing out orders for a few. I then watched him as he bare fisted the Chili's and put some in a bag for me. He then looked up at me to see if I saw what he did. Wait, what!! I am completely and utterly disgusted. Not only are we full throttle in covid times, there's also a ton of other stuff going around. Not to mention everything that he's touched before clawing the chilis. I'm sure he wiped his chili hand on his pants afterwards. I got to the car and just couldn't do it, so I went back in and asked the guy at the cash register for more. He used a baggie to grab them, which was a much better alternative to his coworkers bare hand.

Very nice spot for some delicious fish tacos and aguas frescas, Juni was super friendly, attentive and delivered quick service, good for a Saturday afternoon lunch after a busy morning.

I ordered a mix burrito which includes fish and shrimp and to my surprise I got meat. I normally never have issues and the food is good but today I'm disappointed. I was recovering from a migraine and was looking forward to my burrito. Now I don't have anything to eat.

This location is the best out of all their locations. Service is fast and staff is alway in a good mood. Great portions and great pricing! I can't believe I forgot the girls name that works in the front but she always greets customers and is always so nice makes sure we have everything we need. There is always a line but don't worry they work fast

The food here was delicious ! I walked in and I was greeted with a warm welcoming from workers juni Marisela and Johnny ! The setting was a very happy feelings They all have a great attitude and when asked to recommend some things they had a list! Everything sounded delicious so I did order 2 birria burritos 1 fish burrito 4 shrimp tacos I also ordered both aqua fresca they had and it was the best breakfast! lol I recommend coming here the service is great here ! Ordered 3 shrimp fried tacos Order came out immediately after I paid, I'm assuming it was not made fresh. two tacos had two shrimp , third taco had one shrimp and a ball of batter ? Probably thought it was a shrimp ? $18 for this? Not worth it. Horchata was also watered down not as sweet as I expected.

They lose one more star because on their online menu the chicken taquitos come with guacamole which is missing from the actual order. And because they park their van in a handicapped spot even though there's no handicap placard in the van.

Great food ! Great service ! Good music ! But the service that the manager Edgar gave us was a 10 out of 10!

I would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for delicious tacos. As a bonus, the ambiance is low key and very clean, staff was kind and hustling to get orders through. And thank you to Jose for being welcoming and personable with his customer service. 5 stars all around :)

The food was great however giving this location 5 stars bc Maricela is the sweetest waitress! She goes above and beyond for the customers. Her customer service is very welcoming and makes you want to come back!

TLDR: Fish tacos are a must try! ***Also, if you want their yellow chile peppers you have to ask*** Baja Cali's fish and shrimp tacos always hit the spot whenever I'm craving a good fish taco. For food, I recommend: -Fish Tacos (a MUST! The sauce is so delicious) -Shrimp Tacos -Birria tacos (also very flavorful) -cheese quesadillas (very cheesy!) I'm currently trying all their items as I love Baja LOL. But I have loved a lot so far. Service and helpful tips: From my partner and I's experience, it may take a while to get your food. This location is popping tbh. I recommend ordering online for takeout and picking it up. As for their takeout online though, would recommend coming whenever they estimate your order is done when it's as they don't send an alert letting you know when Also, **ASK FOR THEIR YELLOW CHILE PEPPERS!** I'm used to other Baja locations already supplying my order with them, but the first few times I ordered here I never got them and I just thought the location didn't supply them lol. Turns out you have to ask!
