The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week: August 11 | Eater LA

"I was so happy when this shop opened its third location earlier this summer in the San Gabriel Valley, so I no longer have to trek to Orange County to get a cassava cake or frosty, coconut milk‑based chè. The house special chè is an everything‑but‑the‑kitchen‑sink moment, featuring custardy purple potato, durian, pandan jelly, red and yellow beans, strands of jackfruit, cornstarch‑coated and ruby red‑hued water chestnuts, palm fruit, and sweetened peanuts. No two bites of chè are the same, and eating it feels like an adventure; with the August sun beating down, there is no better summer dessert." - Eater Staff

Google
3.5, tried this because it was trending but tbh i didn’t like it THAT much. the desserts were pretty average and light in taste. i did like the casava and taro and the flan was good but a little too sweet for my taste. i do like that they’re pretty affordable so it’s really nice if you just want something to snack on. they have a lot of affordable options and drinks too. wait time is loooooong, they have a lot of online orders so the staff are all busy and even if your order is just the ready desserts, you have to wait awhile to get it.

Google
Drinks are 💯 and not too sweet! I've gone on 3 separate occasions and have tried the panda grass jelly, house special, Thai dessert, avocado, and the soy milk. Jellies had lots of coconut flavor and each drink has their own unique toppings and tastes. I like that they give you a bag of ice on the side when you order to go. A wonderful addition of Vietnamese treats to the sgv!

Drinks are really good. The flan cheesecake is delicious. Longan was good, too. Drinks: Thai dessert & Coconut Smash. The coconut smash has peanuts & it was good but just a little too sweet for me. There is limited parking. Great customer service. Very busy day but fast service.

Google
Parking could be hard to find, wait time not that bad 5 minutes and order pick up about 10 minutes. - Palm Sugar - the best, not overly sweet there is hint of salt - Pandan Layers - love the texture of Pandan layer, durian flavor not that strong / not strong enough, this could be better for general audience that does not like durian. - Mung Bean - Cassava - Taro Overall great Vietnamese desert bakery and would like to visit again soon.

This place is located on Garvey in the city of Rosemead. It’s in a Chinese/Vietnamese dominate community. The parking lot next to it is not that big and it’s shared by a few other stores from the strip plaza. Next to it, there is Da Vien which it is also new and a popular Vietnamese Coffee place in Orange County. In the same plaza, there is Hot Stone Pho which its also a popular place from OC. I’m glad they opened up a location in the 626 area. This is a great dessert place, popular up and coming coffee place in Orange county that got brought to LA county. This place is a Vietnamese owned dessert place and Their Vietnamese dessert isn’t too sweet, it’s at the perfect sweet level. There are some tables and chairs in the place so people can sit and chill. Highly recommended dessert place!

A good friend recommended Bake & Che when we had dinner down in Garden Grove for dinner a while back. He mentioned that there was always a line and as we drove by, saw the line first handedly. Was excited to hear they were opening up a location in SGV and that it was down the street from work! Came on a Friday and as others have mentioned, the parking lot is no joke. I highly recommend parking on the street and walking there! Fortunately, I had a few spots to choose from as I had just missed the rush. They are currently in a soft opening phase so be patient as they sort things out. Ordered the 5 cake sampler (palm sugar, durian pandan layer, mung bean, cassava and taro). It was nice that they offered to warm them up which did make them taste better but the true star are their drinks. I had the three colors (che ba mau) and I think this was the best I've ever had. You can definitely taste a difference in the toppings they use. Only complaint was with the ice as I'd prefer mine to be less chunky and more fine. I really enjoyed the flan but wasn’t a huge fan of the “cheesecake” at the bottom. Workers were all friendly and had my fairly large order out in a few minutes. Will definitely come back in the near future! ————— Came back to try the soy pudding, thai che and pandan grass jelly. All were awesome!! Also noticed this time that you can preorder directly on Toast so that you can avoid waiting in line and for them to prepare your order.

So excited this location is finally opening! Check out their socials for upcoming Grand Opening details! Parking: If you're planning on driving here, don't do it. There's a small compact parking lot. Finding a spot will be a challenge. Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space with a decent amount of indoor seating. No outdoor seating. Very clean and modern inside. There was no clear direction of where the line started, so customers just made their own line. And yes, there is a restroom for customer use only. Service: Majority of the workers speak Vietnamese and English with an accent. You'll still be able to understand them. Everyone was nice, quick & efficient. Throughput was under 5 min after ordering. Desserts: I've been visiting Bake & Che in Westminster ever since they opened. Safe to say the che and desserts are consistent and as delicious across both locations. My favorite dessert atm is their Che Thai. I just tried their new Che Bo (avocado), and honestly this is my new favorite hehe. All their ches are fresh, and they are not shy with the jellies and toppings. If you can't decide on a bakery item, highly recommend getting the preselected gift box, so you can try a little bit of everything. Their Flan Cheesecake is also heavenly! It had the perfect amount of sweetness, and it's not too heavy. 1. Avocado (Che Bo) 2. Thai Dessert (Che Thai) 3. Pandan Grass Jelly 4. 5 cakes - sampler 5. Flan Cheesecake 6. Green Thai Tea Pricing: Absolutely worth every penny. Their che and desserts are fresh and perfect in satisfying your Vietnamese dessert cravings. Highly recommend joining their rewards for points and exclusive promos.

It's nice when it's not mega crowded. No crowd today when I went early. Their cheesecake flan is really good. Would come back again for that and maybe try their soy pudding too.

Yelp

Yelp
Very splendid service and excellent food. I ordered the taro cake and it was probably one of the best cakes I've had! I highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth and want to come in for something cheap, sweet, and yummy!

Yelp
Ive never had the dessert they serve before but even then I enjoyed it greatly! Would recommend highly!

Yelp
I was craving a small gluten-free dessert, and I found this place! The best part is most of their desserts are gluten-free and not too heavy! I got a sugar muffin that was delicious! I think it was made of tapioca flour and a special Vietnamese sugar! I had the most perfect sweetness and it was the texture of mochi! The girl who helped me with thorough and straight to the point! The ambience was really cute and it was packed!

Yelp
There was a small issue with service on my last visit, but this time the owner was actually working and personally took care of everything. Service has definitely improved and I really appreciate a business that listens and makes things better.

Yelp
Bake and Che was just okay. I ordered online and most of their items ended up sold out so when I arrived, I was told to come by the next day to pick up the remaining items. I ordered the Thai dessert and the House Special. For the cost, I was a little underwhelmed. The dessert was just okay. The house special was my favorite. The durian added a nice flavor to the dessert that wasn't too overwhelming. When ordering, the dessert comes with a small bag of crushed ice to mix into your dessert. I also tried the palm sugar, durian pandan and pandan coconut which were okay in my opinion. The items were not too sweet and a little on the drier side which I didn't really like. Service was kind and the place was clean and packed. There are other places in the area that sell desserts like this at a more affordable price in my opinion.

Yelp
I've visited this location 2-3x so far, and they have been generally great experiences. My last visit was yesterday, Sat. 11/29 at around 8 PM. We have ordered (prices as of Nov 2025): Thai Dessert Che Tai - $7 -- Classic! Leans on the sweet side for reg sweet, but so yummy with all the ingredients that they put inside. Longan Aloe Vera Che Nhan Dam - $7 -- Refreshing! My husband ordered this yesterday and this dessert was packed with aloe, pieces of longan, and other diff textures. Smashed Coconut Dura Dam Thot Not - $7 -- Delicious and creamy! This is a coconut lover's dream lol. This contains all types of coconut, and I will just continue to order this haha. Customer Service: Pretty short - nothing frilly. You also have the option of pre-ordering online. They are cordial but not exceptionally nice. Seating: Indoor and outdoor table seating are both available! The store gets busy, so snagging seats can be a little difficult at peak times. Parties tend to stay for some time, so just be prepared. Parking: There is a parking lot, but it becomes extremely crowded during the day. Street parking is also available right by the shop, which is most convenient for me. All in all, since this location is the closest Bake & Che location, I will be back!

Yelp
Date of visit: 11/30/2025 Stopped by and got myself the avocado Che with regular ice and no sweet to try (I always opt to have my drinks 0% sugar whenever possible) The drink is coconut milk base with avocado pieces, jelly and avocado pudding on top. It's soooo good! Didn't try any of the baked goods, but next time for sure I will. I forgot to take a pic of my drink but I did take a pic of the promo poster. Try it and lmk if you like it as much as I do!

Yelp
We just tried this Bake & Che Vietnamese dessert place in Rosemead on Rosemead Blvd and River Ave. It's next to the Da Vien Coffee. This is a new structure, and the ambiance was comfortable with modern decor. We ordered G1 The Sampler (5 pcs, $7), Avocado Che ($8), and C1 House Special ($7). The five cakes sampler included palm sugar, pandan layers, mung bean, cassava, and taro. I especially like the taro and mung bean cakes, but I'm not a fan of the pandan because it has durian inside. Besides the cakes, I liked their drinks even more! The Avocado Che drink was so delicious and so fresh. It had a lot of ingredients inside. My hubby liked the House Special Che Dac Biet (C1) drink so much, but it had durian inside, so I did not drink it. We forgot to order their signature flan cheesecake, and we will definitely go back to try it next time. The service was friendly and speedy.

Yelp
Bake & Che is a Vietnamese dessert shop that offers a variety of traditional Vietnamese cakes and pastries. I did a mix and match box of eight banh, and chose two palm sugars, two taro, two mungbean, and two pandan layers. The taro and mung bean cakes were pretty dense and flavorful, while the palm sugar was a soft and lightly sweet cake. The palm sugar was my favorite. As for the pandan layer, I didn't realize it also had durian in it, and I didn't love the combination of the two distinct flavors. Overall, the desserts were fresh and delightful, and pretty reasonably priced. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Yelp
I think I messed up. I ordered the pastries rather than the desert drink. I was not a fan of the pastries. Ordered a flan as well as five piece samplers. The flan was delicious but the 5 piece samplers it's just not my flavor preference. However, I will come back to try the dessert drink next time.

Yelp
11/10/25 Cute shop for drinks & delicious desserts with good service, clean, open air ambiance. Could not pronounce it well, cha dac biet is much like halo-halo for Filipinos, except they use coconut milk (evaporated for Filipinos) & they use regular ice, whereas Filipinos use shaved ice (or finer crushed ice). It is so good & full of ingredients. There's coconut or jelly, boba & even crunchy peanuts. The durian cream was supposed to be included but I had them put it on the side. I was not sure if I was going to like it, which in the end, wasn't as pungent or off putting as I had expected. The new pandan flan cheesecake caught my eye so I ordered it & it was better than expected. It was soft & luscious, sweet & delectable. Would definitely return to try other items. There's indoor & outdoor seating although the outdoor is uncovered. Parking is free & shared among other businesses, this shop is right next door to Da Vien-- another shop worth exploring.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Bake & Che for some time now. I finally got the chance to do so on Thanksgiving Day 2025. It is located next door to Da Vien Coffee within Fortress Plaza in Rosemead. Free parking is limited due to the small plaza and lot size. Street parking may be available around the corner. Please read the signs. First and foremost, we all know what "Bake" means. Now what is "Che" you ask? Well, it is a "Vietnamese term for a diverse category of sweet desserts, puddings, and drinks, often served hot or cold. Vietnamese desserts are prepared with many ingredients like beans, jellies, fruits, and coconut milk." I do love Vietnamese Che! I have tried it at different dessert shops and restaurants. I was so excited to try them here especially when the word "Che" is in the biz name. Everything on the menu looked so good. I wanted to try all of it! LOL I'll have to return for more visits to do that. Anyway, I got the House Special Che Dac Biet and Avocado Che Bo both with ice on the side. I don't want my desserts to be watery by the time I get home. Thanks for the special accommodation! I also got their Signature Flan Cheesecake and Flandan Cheesecake that came with their delectable syrup on the side. Thanks! - House Special Che Dac Biet... SO DELICIOUS with so many colorful red, green, and other ingredients! Christmas just came a little bit early. I couldn't stop eating it. I wanted more! Must get every time! - Avocado Che Bo - I love avocados! I really wanted to like this one, but this drink didn't have the sweetness I was looking for. As I was drinking it, it felt like I stuck a straw straight into the avocado and drank it. They need to somehow blend the avocado with condense milk or something to sweeten it. Yeah, I'm not sure if I would get this one again. - Signature Flan Cheesecake - I was slightly bummed about this one because it was lacking some smoothness and sweetness. Cheesecake was a tad denser than I would have liked. I didn't care for the spongy cake layer at the bottom. I have mixed emotions about this! - Flandan Cheesecake - This one wasn't too much better than the Signature Flan Cheesecake. Again, lack of sweetness. However, I did like this one more probably because I love pandan. It didn't have a strong pandan flavor though. Again, I didn't care for the spongy cake layer at the bottom. I think it should be removed all together. Just my 2 cents. Shop was bright and clean. Good amount of inside seating and limited uncovered outside seating. One all gender restroom for use. Tote bag and plushies for sale. Staff was friendly and thankful for my visit. Service was very quick. I can't wait to come back to try their other specialty desserts, bakes, and jellies. Well done Bake & Che!

Yelp
I looooove Vietnamese desserts. I have tried Bake & Che in OC and I'm glad there's a more accessible location for me in 626 I ordered pandan grass jelly for myself and an avocado che for my grandma. Their coconut milk is SO good. The jellies had a good texture. My grandma loved her avocado che. I do wish they use crushed ice instead of nugget ice The line was quick and our desserts came out quickly.

Yelp
What We Ordered: -The Sampler 5 pcs $7.00 -Coconut Pandan $1.50 -Avocado(CHÈ BƠ) $8.00 First time here. We often pass by in the mornings to get coffee next door, but they weren't open. My wife doesn't have a sweet tooth, so she wasn't initially interested, but we finally made it here after grabbing some pho nearby. The staff member, Qui Linh, was incredibly helpful with recommendations. I was initially going to get three baked goods, but he suggested The Sampler (5 popular items), and it was the right choice - everything tasted fresh and delicious. It wasn't overly sweet, which was a nice surprise. The Coconut Pandan wasn't memorable, and we wouldn't order it again. For drinks, we tried the Avocado. They recommended the original sweetness and ice on the side, which they definitely provided - a generous handful! My wife thought it was for the food, but I explained it was for the drink. The Avocado drink was a bit too sweet for us, but we'd be open to trying other options. Overall, I'm glad we tried Bake & Che, but I wouldn't be in a rush to return anytime soon.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
This is a solid spot for cheap, Vietnamese desserts. No longer will we have to drive to OC for this. Typically, they'll have most things in stock unless you come during the later hours. I took a star off just because one of the workers messed up my girlfriend's order. We thought what we ordered came in a box and didn't find out until we got home that we were missing half the order.

Yelp
What a great place for a refreshing light dessert. Had the house special with jack fruit, white and red bean, mung bean, panda, and an assortment of jello. It was such a delicious treat. There are plenty of tables and its very clean and lively. They get pretty busy but they are preparing orders pretty quickly.

Yelp
Overall - 9/10 - I came to this location for their grand opening. It was a good atmosphere but kind of crowded due to being grand opening day. The desserts I tired were nice. I received a free tote and tumbler plus a voucher to use next time. The store is also in a plaza so had easy parking or there is parking close by in the neighborhood too. Desserts - The Avocado Bake Che was an interesting combination that I didn't think to be actually good. I enjoyed it a lot. It is a nice balance of sweet and savory from the avocado. I would get less sugar next time but depends on everyone's sweetness level. I also tried the cheesecake flan that was also wonderful combination. It was a nice sweetness. Overall - It is a wonderful dessert store. I would come back to try some other desserts if I am in the area or try the other stores in the OC area too. The flavors were wonderful and simple and good for a hot summer. The atmosphere was nice to chat with friends.

Yelp
Overall it's fine and a good addition to the area for desserts. Personally the stuff is way too sweet specially the flan's caramel. I liked the texture of it a lot but don't think the cheesecake part should be there because it got mushy immediately. Pricy for the size. $6.5. Sold out at time. Also, the colored jelly is a miss for me and the beans are a precursor to prediabetes. I appreciate the packaging and addition of lots of ice to dilute this. I wish the ice had the option to be shaved in instead of chunky. The place needs more seating and better flow such as high tables and removal of chairs would be good given they're so busy. The cassava cake was hard and not good. Needs to be reheated which is not a practical thing to do. Pass. The staff is nice and fast. They're efficient and patient. Parking is abysmal. I highly recommend parking on the street and crossing. It'll be easier in n out!

Yelp
4 stars Decided to pick up some desserts to-go. We got 2 items: Avocado Ché ($8) & Ché Bau Mau (3 color dessert; $7). While I'm not a huge avocado dessert person, this turned out to be my favorite one. Only complaint I have is the ice. They didn't use crushed ice, which is my favorite way to consume this type of dessert. The Ché Bau Mau was disappointing to me. The dessert I grew up with used red beans and mushed mung beans along the green shredded jelly. This one uses kidney beans, white beans, green shredded jelly, and chestnut tapioca (red color). The tapioca was good and added a nice texture and the green jelly was fine. I didn't like the beans...texturally, it was good and quite soft, but it had a huge bean flavor, which kinda overpowered everything. I wouldn't get this again. Service was nice and and interior was ok. Free parking on site. However, when we were there, the trash was overflowing, so that was not fun.

Yelp
I wish this dessert place is closer to my house. As a kid after dinner, we always go for desserts like this. It's just a sweet treat with grass jelly and pandan jelly made fresh daily. My daughter loves the coffee coconut hello and the other one likes flan:) All their desserts are not too sweet and also adjustable. Employee are so friendly. Definitely with people skills and I love that.

Yelp
Heard of this place from a friend. This shop shares a parking lot in a small plaza. It is visible from the street and you won't miss it as it was packed when we came (on a Sunday afternoon). Luckily the wait wasn't long. Everything looked so good we ordered 6 things so that we could try it all. This place is not as much of a drink place (which I had thought), but more of a Vietnamese dessert in a cup. I never knew there were so many different styles of this type of Vietnamese dessert. The top 2 recommended are both a must have! They are also able to remove durian from the drink if you don't like it. It was also very OG of them to give you the ice in a separate bag. Apparently that's how they are typically served (?). A little on the pricey side but they give soo many toppings. I would recommend giving them a try. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
first time trying Che and WOW this hits! The all the jellies have such an addicting texture, it's super refreshing and comforting at the same time. Now I know what I'm gonna crave when it gets super hot in LA!

Lynn N.

Yelp
Love all of the Vietnamese desserts here! My favorite is the Chè Thái -- it has a mix of jellies, Logan, and jackfruit-- and sweet coconut milk. You can order your drinks to go, and they'll give you a separate bag of ice so your dessert stays cold. They also have monthly specials with buy-one-get-one-free deals, so make sure to order directly from their website and use the discount code. Service was great, and there's plenty of seating if you want to study or hang out with friends. It gets super busy during the summer!! Plenty of parking inside the plaza or on the street. Love that they opened right next to Da Viên!

Yelp
Finally checked out this Vietnamese dessert spot after hearing all the hype! Stopped by on a Monday around 6 PM and was happy to find no wait. I've driven by on weekends, and it's usually packed, so plan ahead if you're coming during peak hours. There's a decent-sized parking lot that can get busy, but I've never had trouble finding a spot. What I ordered: Pandan Coconut Jelly - My favorite! The fresh coconut balanced well with the jelly. Longan Jelly - Refreshing and not overly sweet, with real longan pieces inside. Baked Taro - You can ask for this to be warmed up. It was okay, just a bit on the plain side. Baked Mung Bean - Similar to the taro. It was just okay. New Item: Pandan Flan & Cheesecake - A bit too sweet for my taste. The two desserts didn't quite blend together, so I enjoyed them separately. It also comes with a side of syrup, which made it even sweeter when added. The shop itself is clean, bright, and welcoming. Staff were friendly, efficient, and quick with service. Overall: A fun spot for unique Vietnamese desserts with a wide variety to explore. I'll definitely be back to try some of their drink desserts next time!.

Yelp
Friendly Staff, Awesome Desserts! My favorite is the Avocado Che :) So yummy! In a shared lot but lots of parking. I always go here whenever I'm in the area :)
google avatar

Yelp
Avocado dessert 3/5 - this was good but I wish they had more of the green jellies. All of the toppings inside were good but not the best smash avocado dessert I've had. We ordered a bunch for pick up the next day and they were ready on time. Lots of parking spots
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh made daily health dessert, Bubu approved! I am excited to try this famous dessert spot from OC, it didn't disappoint! The dessert CHE has lots of options and they are all yummy colorful options! My go to che is the #1avocado. The jelly are also refreshing and in the perfect size. It's a good alternative for donuts at work meetings

Yelp
7/25/25 - Friday Evening Stopped by to get some Che since my coworker recommended it. I put off going since it was in OC but I'm glad they opened one in the 626! Ordered it online at it was ready for pick up in 10-15 minutes. They have a separate counter for pick up where they keep your drink in a fridge. They also offer complimentary water. We got the house special with the ice, peanuts, and durian on the side., pandan grass jelly, and the avocado. House Special - 7/10 There is a bit too much going on for my liking. It made it hard to really know what I was tasting. Also, the chunky ice really threw me off. Wish they had finer shaved ice. Lastly, I wish I got less sweet for this one. Pandan Grass Jelly - 9/10 Really liked this one. It's the right sweetness and simple but delicious. Avocado - 9/10 Generous portion of avocado. Creamy and delicious. There's tables and seating available indoors. Street parking and a small parking lot available shared with other stores.

Emma L.

Yelp
One of the best dessert places and I've tried most places in oc. This one by far taste better. Has the right balance is sweetness and the right chewiness for the grass jelly and Pandan drink. Loved the palm sugar dessert. Not too sweet. Haven't tried longan drink yet. Loved the jello longan too Or my daughter does ...
google avatar

Yelp
love love love this place. they make the best chè everrr!! I always get the che dac biet, which is the house special; it includes everything. I realize I prefer it without peanuts so now I just get it without that. you can also ask for ice on the side in case you're not going to eat it right away, and you're able to adjust the sweetness level. it always tastes super delicious and refreshing on a hot day. the employees have been nice the times I went. since this is their newest location, there can sometimes be a line but it's not unbearably long.

Yelp
Well. Well. Well. Finally paid a visit to Bake & Che. Skipped the grand opening madness. These are definitely some affordable Vietnamese treats. I got the Sugar Palm (4) Pandan Durian (4). I am not a fan of the texture but the drinks look tasty! Bake & Che is well known in the area for Vietnamese goodies.

Yelp
Came here to check out the hype and the Vietnamese desserts. Ordered the following: Che ba mau: 3.5/5 supposed to have some coconut milk but there isn't. Kind of dry to my taste. Sweetness level is good. Not too sweet. Che dac biet: 3.5/5 supposed to have durian in it. Can barely taste the durian. A bit of a let down. Panda coconut jelly: 3/5 I've had better. The jelly is so hard and stiff. It felt like it's been sitting for a day or so. Cassava: 3/5: a bit on the sweeter side and mushy for me. Service: 4/5, they should have been a bit more informative with their mix n match. It was over charges and so we had to asked for a refund. Place: 5/5 nice and clean but the bathroom needs cleaning. Floor was wet and dirty. Not sure if it was water or urine. It was worth a try, but I'll stick to my usual spot for my tradition Vietnamese dessert craving.

Yelp
I came back to try and claim my free drink from the opening. I asked if there was a way to substitute the avocado because of my allergy. They said they couldn't because the entire drink had avocados in it. I was a little disappointed that they couldn't offer me a different dessert to claim, but I didnt want to leave without getting something. I just got their banh lot extra sweet. This was just how I remembered my mom making it when I was a kid, so this trip wasn't a bust. Im still giving it a 4 out of 5.

Yelp
Been to the Bake & Che in OC and this was is similar. Second time here and we used their soft opening coupon to get a Avacado Che this time for free. The che here is top notch, high quality and always delicious. Didn't know you could have ice on the side but it's definitely a nice addition when you want to take the che togo. Pastry items are good too, got a pandan cake and flavors were heavy of pandan which I loved. Definitely the spot if you want the highest quality Che!

Yelp
Bake and Che is a Vietnamese dessert shop right next door to a very popular Vietnamese coffee shop, Da Vien (see my other review on them) I assume the name refers to what they offer: Bake, as in their baked goods like small cakes. Che, the various types of sweet dessert drinks that are full of color and flavors. We came here after grabbing coffee next door, so we wanted to try the 'Bake' They offer a mix and match box (sampler) so we picked one of each: Taro, mung bean, cassava, palm sugar and coconut durian. All of the cakes have a nice subtle flavor, and they all were fresh. There's an option to have them serve it warm, and we opted for that. When we got our order, none of the items were warm. The pandan coconut and coffee coconut jellies were both good. Again, a nice subtle flavor that's mildly sweet. The interior is bright with several tables for 2 or 4. They were blasting Vietnamese EDM so it doesn't really match the mellow decor. These tasty cakes aren't exactly what I would crave, but glad I got to try them.

Yelp
Clean and spacious! Fast service and the dessert is delicious. They're served in individual portions so it's great to get a bunch and share with friends to try each one. Would recommend if you're in the area, plus it's right next to a Da Vien (love) so there's something for everyone in the group based on what they're feeling.

Yelp
Would give 4 stars if parking were better and easier to get to. They are in the corner in the front. Parking is crazy even though they have their own lot in this strip mall. The menu is nice and has beautiful options. It's all so fresh and pretty Vegan options Gluten-free options and more They have boxes for variety too

Yelp
Right next to the brand new Da Vien, this corner plaza has quickly become my go-to spot for Vietnamese desserts and coffee. I stopped by with a friend on a Saturday, and it was definitely bustling - lots of people chatting and enjoying their sweets, which made it pretty loud inside. They could really benefit from adding some outdoor seating, since the space gets crowded fast. Luckily, a table opened up just in time. My friend ordered the C1 House Special and loved it, especially because she's a durian fan. I got the C4 Pandan with grass jelly, which was refreshing. We were able to customize the sweetness level and have the ice served on the side, though I do wish the ice had been more finely crushed. I'm already looking forward to going back to try the cakes and jellies. The parking lot can get busy here, there's a shared lot but I found street parking around the corner.

Yelp
So glad Bake & Che opened a new location. I ordered the pandan grass jelly che, pandan jelly, and the signature flan cheesecake (best seller). Fortunately there's an option for ice on the side - so it won't melt if traveling. Friendly staff and spacious seating! Highly recommend placing an order online, to avoid a wait.

Yelp
Such a delicious and refreshing spot for desserts! I'm a huge che fan and my top favorite here has to be the pandan grass jelly because it's so light, refreshing, and just the right amount of sweetness. I also really enjoy their soy pudding, especially with the bits of coconut meat mixed in. So good! I tried the che Thai as well. It was tasty but might be a little too sweet for some people, depending on your preference. Don't skip their baked goods either! We got the 5 cake sampler and my favorites were the cassava and taro cakes. It does get super busy here and honestly I get why now! Totally worth the visit if you're craving Vietnamese desserts.

Yelp
A great new addition to the 626 area that offers a variety of coconut-based Vietnamese desserts. My favorite is the coconut smash (C4) but I believe one of their most popular desserts is avocado che bo. I also recommend adding the flan cheesecake to your cart because it's the perfect balance of rich and decadent but light and refreshing. I did street parking the day I visited because it was packed but they do have a small lot.

Yelp
I came here on a weekend afternoon and it was packed and all their banh had sold out so I wasn't able to buy any (this was around 3pm so I recommend coming earlier if you want any). Smashed avocado - 10/10, this was so delicious and perfect for the hot day Pandan coconut jello - 11/10, this was a super popular item as I saw many people getting this as well! This is my favorite jello and they nailed it with the flavors and shredded coconut Drinks are not adjustable as they are premade! Service was great and I didn't wait too long even though it was busy. Will stop by again when I'm in the area!

Yelp
This was exactly what I needed after craving Vietnamese dessert! Love all of their options for Che. Super fresh and you can adjust the sweetness. The pandan jelly is so yummy. The baked goods are good too. The palm sugar cake is very light and spongy. What's great is that it's right next to Da Vien. You can get your coffee and dessert fix right next to each other!

Yelp
Excited to check out Che Dessert for their grand opening, cute space (a little smaller than expected) and the desserts are totally worth the hype! Just one note: the music was REALLY loud, and it was hard to hear when our names were called. Hope they turn it down a bit so the vibe matches the sweet treats. It's also hard for us to hear each other and chit chat. And maybe have another cashier? It takes way too long to get one or two che. Looking forward to coming back once it dies down a little bit. Happy it's on this side of town! :)

Yelp
There was a short line but it went pretty fast. It was a bit crowded but we managed to get seats. Hopefully they will put some outdoor seating with shade? I ordered the avocado dessert, a flan cheesecake, pandan jelly and coffee jelly. The desserts come with a bag of small ice cubes on the side that you pour in the cup. I did not like how once in the coconut milk, the ice cubes looked exactly like the cubed up jelly. I couldn't pick out just the jelly with my spoon. I don't particularly like chewing on chunks of ice, so sometimes it was a jelly cube, sometimes it was an ice cube. Besides that, I enjoyed the rest of the dessert, especially the avocado and what seemed to be some avocado pudding. The flan cheesecake was good. The cheesecake part is more like a fluffy cake that tastes like cheese, not an American style cheesecake. The jellies were fine but I wouldn't get them again. They don't cost much ($1.50) but it's so small I'd rather get something else. I liked the coffee one more than pandan one (coffee had a stronger flavor).

Yelp
I've always been a fan favor and of course recently we visited this new location in Rosemead. They are very efficient and clean! Most of everything was sold out, but we got their coconut delight and their traditional deluxe, and a couple of flaws. Prices are getting quite steep, but nonetheless, I still ordered till my heart's desire. Staff are nice and efficient. Waited about 15 minutes after my order and got what I needed. Will always come back.
