"Bake Culture, backed by three former Taiwanese boy band members, is adding a location inside Empire Outlets. The bakery serves pastries like egg tarts, 'chocoholic' bread, and croissants." - Carla Vianna

I love coming here whenever I'm passing by and need a sweet treat! The drinks are all good and so are the pastries! I often stock up on them for my family too.

Google
Super delicious pastries! They had a few pastries I never had before. The chocolate braid and taro bun with salted egg were delicious! I like how there are notes written explained when the bread was baked so I can choose the most fresh bread! Will come back for sure. Location is right next to the ferry.

Bake Culture 55 Richmond Ter Level 1 Staten Island, NY 10301 Coconut Cream This bakery is very easy to find as you step off the NYC Ferry. In addition to looking and tasting phenomenal, it was a really great deal! The pastry was light and fluffy with a perfect ratio of creamy. The coconut toppings added a touch of sweetness to the dessert.

The baked goods were fresh, ready to go, and tasted wonderful! There is tsaôcaa on the drinks menu. There's usually a crowd but the orders are done within a few minutes so the wait isn't too long. It's a great place to sit down and eat with a view of the Manhattan skyline across the bay.

Awesome drinks! Staff were friendly, and the place is very clean and modern. We had the Iced Kiwi Green Tea, Brown Sugar Milk Black Tea (w. Bubble), and Milk Black Tea w. Bubble + Herb Jelly + Red Bean. The drinks were all 5/5 and I love the cups!

This place was great! The egg waffle was worth the trip. It was the perfect place to hang out, charge phones, and indulge in yummy deserts and drinks!

Google
Love this place so much. I’ve tried almost all their drinks and pastry’s and by far there all really good. My favorite one is brown sugar bubble with Oreo. The boba was perfectly chewy and flavorful. The workers are also very friendly and even bring the drinks to you sometimes. Also they also have Chinese guava candy on the counter for anyone to take which I think is supper nice. If your in the outlets I totally recommend you stop by and get some drinks or bread. Also my favorite worker is the young pretty girl I think her name is Xixi she’s really efficient with taking your orders!

In my "former life", as an adult, I used to eat for lunch and then wait until dinner. But then my son came along and changed everything because, as a kid, he needs to eat during the afternoon... or so he says! 🤔 And there's no way I can watch him eat an ice cream or a cake and not eat myself 😋 So after breakfast + Auntie Ann's nuggets + Japanese food for lunch (almost nothing) we had an Asian (according to Google it's a Chinese place) afternoon snack at Bake Culture... And don't worry, we did have dinner afterwards! 😂 Pastries there look stunning. If you like eating with your eyes as I do, you'll love them. Their taste is less interesting, though, unfortunately. Another thing I didn't like too much is that most of these pastries are prepared in advance and sold in a plastic bag.. 😥 What I did like was the lychee bubble tea we had... I don't know how they can make such a flavorful drink out of lychee, which is a fruit that usually loses its flavor when not eaten as such. And what I absolutely loved was the view to Manhattan that you can enjoy from the inside, away from the winter cold, while you eat your pastries. Oh! and the food is kind of cheap... We only paid about $12 for 2 huge pastries and a big (and good) bubble tea. Quality & taste: 6/10 Quantities: 9/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Originality: 9/10 Ratio price / quality: 8/10 Service: n/a How I felt afterwards: 7/10 More on IG @runnerandfoodie

Yelp
Never heard of this place before I went. They have claw machines, desserts, bubble waffles (with no toppings), bubble tea, etc. We got the following pastries/buns: vanilla lemon pastry ($3.19), lovely coconut ($2.99), matcha purple rice ($3.79). The former 2 are really good. The vanilla lemon has the perfect balance of lemon cream. My sister doesn't like coconut, but she liked the bun. The coconut is very flaky & light. I didn't like the matcha part of the bun, since it was bitter. I didn't even taste matcha itself, just bitterness. The purple rice has cream cheese on top, which was a nice unique surprise. We got king of oolong milk tea ($5.95). I asked for sugar, but was given Splenda or something, which made it taste disgusting imo. Artificial sweeteners are nasty imo. Maybe they ran outta sugar? My uncle really liked his sweetener-free tea. The tea def wuda tasted better with sugar. Service is good.

Yelp
After getting off the free Staten Island ferry, we were exploring the outlets and found this boba shop. This was probably one of the better options here, to be honest. We ordered a Jasmine Green Milk Tea ($5.95) and Pork Sung & Seaweed Egg Waffle ($5.95). The tea is refreshing while the egg waffle was crispy and soft. I will say that this flavor was more seaweed forward, but such a yummy savory treat.

Yelp
May be the best jasmine milk tea I've had! Very light and refreshing without being too watery. The bubbles had a strong brown sugar taste and were soft and warm. Some seating inside and connected to a Bake Culture with yummy Asian pastries.

Yelp
A male worker was extremely rude to us. He became annoyed because we couldn't understand him due to his accent. When we politely asked him to repeat himself, he got annoyed. As we walked away, he started speaking Mandarin to his coworker, and I assume it was about us.

Yelp
The bread here is insanely good and different. I bought one with hot dog and cheese and my wife one with condensed milk. They have a lot of different bubble teas. The prices were excellent!

Yelp
Conveniently located steps away from the St George ferry terminal at the Empire Outlets on Staten Island, is a Bake Culture shop. There are cabinets of sweet and savory baked goods along the left wall, and a back counter to order drinks. I picked up a garlic hot dog bun and a red bean danish. Both were so good, and only a few bucks, I wish I had grabbed a couple more to try later. For a large store, there aren't many tables, but to be honest, the clean open vibe was nice. NY can make anyone feel claustrophobic every now and then. Space isn't a bad thing. I took the seat at the front window and watched the diverse groups of ferry travelers pass by, with ships from Bayonne and the Manhattan skyline just beyond them. The staff was super friendly and the bathroom was clean. There are other locations around the city but this one gives me a reason to do some discount shopping, then take a free boat ride and catch the Statue at sunset on the way back.

Yelp
Pastries aren't too bad. There's a boba spot inside too! Taro Mochi - I thought this would be completely mochi, but it's really a flakey exterior with mochi in the middle. Not sure if I like that over a larger mochi, but the mochi was good! Lychee Purée Green with Nata Jelly - nata jelly, which is coconut, Fruity overall with lychee and coconut flavors, this was a refreshing drink. Green Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Jelly and Boba - brown sugar jelly was weird a mild sweet coffee jelly like texture. Actually it probably was coffee jelly. Boba was soft and chewy, little sweet but not much. 50% sugar tasted a bit like 25% but I liked it being toned down. Tea was present in the center of all the milkiness. Would skip on the brown sugar jelly, but the rest was fine.

Yelp
They're definitely a bit pricey for me. I'm so used to Chinatown prices especially the smaller bakeries. It's located conveniently by the ferry for locals and tourist. Service is always good here. It's got plenty of seating inside. It's definitely in a big location, with not many options so it looks empty. The pastries are very good. I love the drink options because there are so many flavors and ways to order it.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night before going to the Winter Lantern Festival nearby. There's a lot of indoor seating with some cute chairs with croissants. I wanted a hot drink since it was cold so I ordered a hot jasmine milk tea with milk foam. I also got a snack (ham and cheese bun) since it might be a long time until I eat dinner so didn't want to be hangry haha. The staff were nice enough to warm the ham and cheese bun in the microwave for me. The milk foam was cold at first so probably should've waited for it to be warmed by the milk tea before drinking. The drink tasted great though. The bun was good as well. I would come back if I'm in the area since there's not many sit down cafes.

Yelp
Really good location as it's spacious and they check your vaccine status if you decide to dine in. I selected a flavor I normally would not, and I'm glad to have tried something different! They sell a variety of pastries- my favorites are anything that have black sesame or taro.

Yelp
Great bubble tea & pastry shop located at Empire Outlets. I was very impressed with their Tsaocaa Special "Brown Sugar Milk Black Tea w. Oreo & Milk Foam". It was one of the most delicious boba I have had especially with the Oreo milk foam at the top. The drink was also quite large, maybe about 2 cups worth of space/volume. The bottom was filled with small ice, and it was a bit hard to suck in all the pearls before drinking in all the tea. The cap is made of more rigid plastic like the ones for standard coffee cups, and the straw was tightly fitted. Because of this, you can't really swirl around the straw to target the pearls (had to add in milk once I finished the tea before eating all the pearls). There was a wide selection of pastries - Fènglísū (small pineapple pastry cake), egg custards, swirl toasts (taro, plain), mochi pastries, egg yolk pork floss pastries, dirty choco bread, and more. Their pastries are a bit on the expensive side (expected since this is right at the St. George ferry terminal), but the bubble teas were reasonably priced (~$6 for Tsaocaa Special ones, ~$5 for regular bubble tea; see menu attached). Interior design is interesting/cool, I enjoyed seeing the pastry/bread designed chairs (see pictures attached). Overall, great - definitely will be buying from here again.

Yelp
This is a review for the baked goods, not the drinks. The variety of baked goods options were great and some were unique so I was excited to try. The matcha pistachio cookie wasn't that great, something about the flavors wasn't working and the texture was unexpectedly soft. The peach danish was just what seemed like half a canned peacelh on top of a regular sweet baked good so that part took me off guard as well. Overall, the availability of unique flavors is great but the execution on taste/texture was poor, leaving more to be desired.

Yelp
This review is for the drinks, not the baked goods. I came by and just wanted a drink. The drinks were okay, possibly a little on the expensive side, but nothing to write home about. I thought the place was wasting a lot of seating space--there's not much seating for quite a large area, and some of the seats when I visited were a little sticky. Overall, it's quite out of the way for me so I don't foresee myself returning, but I wouldn't be opposed to coming back should I find myself in the area. Would be interested in trying the baked goods though!

Yelp
Did I get the Cloud Mist Milk Green Tea just cause of its name? Yes Did it taste like cloud mist? Nope Regardless, me and my friend enjoyed the drinks we ordered respectively (Hers the Lychee Purée Milk Green Tea with Nata Jelly). We both got it at 50% sugar level which works for our optimal sugar level. My friend said the jelly and purée at the bottom is sweet. I ordered my cloud mist hot but it was served warm which wasn't a big problem since I could drink it with a straw. The amber bubbles were lighter in color, smaller and softer than the typical black pearls. There was indoor seating and a restroom inside. Whoever worked there that day was a clear fan of BlackPink cause they only played BP songs from the minute we stepped in and even as we left.

Yelp
Lovely osmanthus oolong milk tea with boba. Boba is sweetened so is perfect without extra tea sweetener. The tea was freshly brewed (takes some time) and was lightly aromatic. Baked Asian pastries were tasty. Enjoyed on the ferry ride back to NYC.

Yelp
Ordered from this bakery through Uber Eats. Had their garlic hot dog. Was hesitant to order it at first but it was absolutely delicious. Would definitely order this again. The mango milk puree was good as well. Had pieces of mango in each sip, so if you're ok with the texture and if you love mango.. would definitely recommend! Next time i will visit in person and update my review regarding the bakery vibe.

Yelp
Since it just opened not too long ago, they had a buy one drink get the second drink 50% off. I came on a Wednesday at 4pm and the baked goods are half gone. The baked goods are on the pricier side compared to what you can get in Brooklyn. I got a peach mojito and a pineapple mojito. The peach mojito is not as good as the pineapple mojito but both is very refreshing. I will come back again to try the baked goods and see how the regular milk tea taste. It did take awhile to get our drinks done since there's not a lot of people working inside the bakery but the place got busier after getting my drink so luckily I ordered earlier.

Yelp
A pleasant little cafe for when you're waiting for the SI or NYC ferry. They make some good boba, but they also have some delightful baked goods. I'm actually surprised that they chose SI as one of their first 4 locations.

Yelp
I've been here twice and really like it! Although it is a bit high in price, the breads are delicious and soft! I have tried to hotdog bunny, garlic hot dog, chicken sandwich, and a few others and enjoyed them all. I also enjoy the boba here, I like to try different flavors whenever I go but so far, this place has been consistent! Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Highly recommend going here for either their baked goods, their drinks, or both! For once, Staten Island finally has a great Asian bakery without needing to travel into Brooklyn's Chinatown. Their bubble tea is also good enough to stand on its own for bubble tea connoisseurs. Been there three times and haven't found anything I hadn't liked yet. The staff are also very pleasant and friendly, the store clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, and the seats by the window has a nice view of the waterway.

Yelp
Came over here looking for bubble was not disappointed. Quick service and good quality tea. Def coming back when I'm around.

Yelp
This was sooo good! The bread is so soft, buttery and slightly sweet, such a delicious combination to the gooey cheese and bacon. Delish!!

Nicolas R.

Yelp
Bubble tea is some of the best in the city, but the customer friendliness of this place is limited. This guy that served me today acted really uninviting and unwelcoming. Pretty much for the rule that is for their regular teas is only medium size and the milk teas are only large. I wanted a medium melon milk tea. After I'm aimlessly staring at the menu, the guy says that he can do medium for me but it's still the same price. I felt that was rude especially since I'm a recurring customer and I was fairly friendly with the cashier. Whoever made up this really stupid rule has to have a reality check. 99.99% of bubble tea houses typically have THREE sizes available for all drinks. Just because I ask for milk in my tea all of a sudden I should have to pay more for something I don't want to drink? It's a shame it's one of my favorite places to go to.

K H.

Yelp
Really glad they have a branch in LIC! Love the walnut and raisin bread. Wish they have more selection. The manager Miracle is super friendly, service is efficient. Recommend.

Yelp
Best jasmine bubble tea. The boba was very good consistency and they have a sale sometimes that gives you two bubble tea for a discount

Yaz B.

Yelp
Pastries look way better than they actually taste. What looks like whip cream is actually butter. Took a huge bite of butter in a coconut bread. Very gross. Hot dog bread is sweet when I thought it would be salty. Very weird and gross flavors. And the cakes look great but actually taste very bland.
