Baker Dude Is Open in Grant Park at the Beacon - Eater Atlanta

"Baker Dude, known around town for its cupcakes, is now open at the Beacon complex in Grant Park. The bakery owned by Orran Booher was previously located in Midtown. The shop sells cupcakes styled after those found in Europe which are less sweet and somewhat smaller in size, but very aesthetically pleasing. However, there’s more than meets the eye on the menu here. The bake shop offers flavors ranging from a zesty key lime to a gluten free and paleo cupcake made from fair trade chocolate and mint chocolate morsels. In addition to cupcakes, Baker Dude also sells freshly-baked breads and pastries. A selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes like a pesto egg wrap, meat-heavy sandwiches such as a turkey, ham, and roast beef topped with Swiss cheese, and a quiche Lorraine are on the cafe menu. They had a good selection of gluten-free bakery goods when I went on a Saturday. I chose the lemon blueberry cake, and hubby got the apple pie (also gluten-free). We took them to go. The service was okay, and the food court was okay. The cake was good, but it could have used a few more blueberries, and the icing could be a little more tart. The apple pie was too mushy. The service was okay. He was a little low energy.

Really loved their banana pudding and was pleasantly surprised by their buttery pecan shortbread cookie. I don’t usually like coconut flakes but it was superb!! The man at the desk upsaled me some fair trade decaf coffee, and I was happy to oblige. Thanks for a great experience and desserts 💛

First of all, the vegan brownie is everything! I recently went vegan and was really searching for a vegan desert. The brownie is made with avocados...listen! When I tell you I would have thought this was normal brownie! I was surprised. It was so moist and rich! It tastes like chocolate like not just sweetness. I am in L.O.V.E! I bought one yesterday and came back TODAY. Oh and get it warmed up, it takes the brownie from an A+ to an A++! I'll recommend this brownie to any chocolate lover and to all vegans. Also, the owner is so nice and patient...because I had allll the questions LOL

Baker Dude has made several cakes since they were opened, and all have been amazing! They always have a variety of options and a vegan-inclusive menu. It is a pleasure to support a local bakery run by such an amazing and talented crew! I've had only one mistake [it happens we're human], and their team was delighted to assist and provide exceptional customer service. Hoping they become a staple within the baking world here in Atlanta always happy to recommend them!

Amazing assortment of vegan and dairy free treats. The brownie is huge and a rick dark chocolate---Yum! I purchased the 6 count variety gift box for someone who has a dairy allergy and they were very excited to have so many delicious options.
