Food here is good decent. Try the beef tongue. Sounds weird but very tender and good stew served on top of stewed potatoes and rice. The steak is tasty but the cut is not so great served with a salad and an egg on top. The queperi is essentially beef brisket served with cheese rice and fried plantains and yuca. It is a delicious plate. Also if you like hot dogs or sausage, get the pique macho, it is a huge plate with sauteed beef and sliced sausages sauteed with onions and finished with some slightly cooked tomatoe wedges and topped with jalapenos. The beef and sausage sits on top of a bed of steak fries and the juice from the sauteed beef and sausage drenches the fries with an awesome flavor. Although the flavor of the dish is good, the quality of the meat is more tendonous. Overall this plate is worth trying. This bakery has Napoleon, many baked goods from Bolivia such as cheese bread. It is pretty good here. The baked goods are pretty fresh and tastes pretty good.

I have been to this place twice and it failed to disappoint each time! The staff is very friendly and know the menu inside and out. This time I got the silpancho and I never realized that it is a combination of all my favorite foods with veggies, rice, beef, egg, and potatoes. I didn’t think I would be leave feeling prepared for a future trip to Bolivia!

I just had the best Salteñas. Absolutely delicious. The flavor and texture are **chef kiss** perfect. The service and atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

I ordered the api (blue corn drink), and it was more like a juice, it was very watery. Api is supposed to have a thick consistency, so this was disappointing.

I stopped by this small eatery because I saw it was a Bolivian restaurant—and I’m always down to try new ethnic spots, even if they sometimes don’t meet expectations. I asked the waiter for a recommendation, and she suggested the Silpancho Cochabambino. I was like, okay, let’s go for it. While I waited, they brought me water and played classic rock over the speakers—Queen, to be specific, which was unexpected but actually kind of vibey. Who doesn’t love a little Queen? A few minutes later, my food came out and I was like, holy moly, this could feed a whole family. And that wasn’t an exaggeration—I ended up taking some of it home. The presentation was on point. My main issue was the flavor—it just didn’t have much in my opinion. I even sprinkled a little salt on it, and I’m usually 95% anti-salt. Eating it was also a bit tricky—if you're not careful cutting through everything, the diced veggies spill all over the place. I try to be low-maintenance when I’m out, so that was kind of a mess. As I made my way through the meat and potato wedges, I finally hit the rice—which, honestly, was my biggest gripe. It was way too soft for me. That might just be how it’s traditionally prepared, though. I personally prefer my rice with a bit more bite. Also, aside from a spicy green sauce on the side, there wasn’t much else adding flavor to the rice. But again, I’ll take the L on that—it could very well be a “me not knowing the cuisine” thing. If someone told me the rice is meant to be soft and minimally seasoned, I’d adjust my expectations accordingly. Overall, it was an interesting experience. If I do come back, it’ll probably be to try their baked goods.

I have been coming to this place for years. A couple of months ago I ordered chicharrones that tasted like they have been fried in vinegar. I called and they told me to come back and that I’d been given a free order. When I went back they said it was too late and that they couldn’t do anything about it. They have lost a loyal customer because of their short sightedness.

I love places like this -- locally owned, small business with really nice people. It's a Bolivian bakery with breakfast, lunch and dinner service, mainly South American food. There are only about six tables and the order will arrive quickly. Each day of the week has specials, but Tuesday is my favorite -- Lomo Saltado (you can get it other days too). Come hungry, the portions are large and the food is top-notch. Avoid looking at the delicious cakes and other baked goods -- you'll be tempted to leave with a bag of goodies. You can pick up empanadas to go too.

This generically-named Bolivian bakery & restaurant has both a take-out area and dine-in space. The dine-in space is small so don't bring a group, even getting a table for more than three is a stretch. The service is quite friendly. *Saltenas: I love these savory pastries. These come in beef or chicken as filling. They taste hot (gotta be careful eating these with the liquid pouring out with each bite) and fresh. The stew filling is perfectly seasoned. *Picante de lengua: This is on the weekend special menu. It's stewed beef tongue with rice & potatoes. This may be the most tender slow-cooked beef tongue I've ever eaten, and the stew seasoning is delicious. The menu reads "spicy" and I sensed no heat whatsoever, but in no way was this dish bland. *Alfajores: These cookies are quite large size and look really appetizing behind the glass bakery display. Delicious, not too sweet, but still full of flavor. *Humintas: I love these corn cakes wrapped in corn husk! Such an upgrade from typical American cornbread. Tastes less dough-y, and has more actual corn kernels inside. One of the best Bolivian restaurants in this area for sure. I'll be back! It's just a shame that the dining space is so small so I can't bring a larger group. The only other point of reference I have for Bolivian food is Pan American in Alexandria, which has a similar menu, *slightly* lower prices, and a larger dining space, with similar food taste, but less friendly service than Bakery Bread & Grill.

I had the tipica for breakfast here today awesome food at an awesome price ($11.90). Service was very pleasant and prompt. They do awesome south/central American cuisine based on the steady flow of clientele. Very nice I'llbe back

This place is next level and amazing ! Francesca is the best at the front and really informed about what's good. Note: everything is amazing. This is my go to place now for Salteña! I think it's better than luzmary

This Bolivian restaurant is a hidden gem! The place suffers from a bad business name but don't be fooled. The food here is to die for. I've been a regular at this place for a while! If you don't know what to order, here is my recommendation for your first try. Get Silpancho which is thinly rolled beef fried with bread crumps served on oiled up rice, slices of potatoes, eggs and onion, tomato combo to bring some balance. This dish is so good that I have to keep coming back. I also like the fact that every time I came, the taste is exactly the same - super consistent. Just beware, the portion is HUGE! If you don't eat a lot, this can easily be two meals. Pair it with freshly made Horchata drink! Then get Alfajores for dessert. Amazing food! The place is quite small so I wouldn't bring a big party. I'd be surprised if they can serve 15 customers comfortably. The decor is also not there but I'm not really complaining here. This is not that kind of restaurant. You come here for the authentic food. Communication could be a challenge as I found not all waitresses speak fluent English. However, that shouldn't matter after you read this review because you already know what to order! I bet your foodie azs you gon enjoy this gem! lol

This was the second time I've been here and it does not disappoint. My wife and I were initially recommended this place when we were in the are and wanted a quick bite to eat. Pulling up it is located off a main road an a busy strip mall so parking can get a little difficult to find. When you enter its a tight fit with a bunch of smaller tables and just a long counter for them to display their daily offerings. When we arrived my wife and I tried their saltenas, alfajore and Gyro sandwich. We ordered one chicken and one beef saltena they were fresh made and fairly hot when we tried to eat. They are served with a spicy green sauce that pairs well with them. Biting in they were very delicious, filled with potatoes meat juices and veggies. The dough is nice and thick and has a good flavor. If you are ever on the lookout for good bolivian saltenas this has to be a place to try. We also get the gyro sandwich, and while opening it up it did not look super appealing but once I took a bite I was surprisingly mistaken. It probably thelp that they are right next to a halal market to get the lamb from but it was super tasty combined with the veggies, pita, and feta cheese on top I would definitely not sleep on this offering. We also ordered the alfajore which if I'm being honest was not my favorite but definitely not the worst I've ever had. Suffice it to say we will be traveling back to try some of their entrees!

First time at this local gem. Arrived after lunch and the seating area was still full. The ladies who helped us were knowledgeable and kind. The woman at the counter offered us menus as we waited and ushered us to a table. Ultimately we ordered Lomo saltado, beef Salteña, and horchata. Guys, the food was really good! As good as the pictures are, they can't tell you how the dishes were seasoned perfectly. The Lomo saltado was the perfect mixture of steak, onions, tomato and peppers all over crispy fried potatoes, served with white rice. The beef mixture of the Salteña was flavorful and I enjoyed the light sweetness of the bread covering of the pie. The horchata delicious but is sold by the glass, with no free refills. But the people were friendly and I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes.

My go to place in Nova for salteñas. Reasonably priced, always hot and delicious. Quick and easy service. On my last visit, I also got some cuñapés/pao de quejo which was pretty good.

Our favorite empanada place! Both chicken and beef were very tasty! The green sauce was to die for! Our first visit we dined in for dinner and my hubby ordered fried fish and i had soup. Both were delicious! We had a deletable tres leches cake roll which was and good coffee for dessert. Service was efficient and warm, the hostess congenial. Ambience was pleasant although it's a small/ cozy place and can get crowded real quick

Good food, tastes like former home country (Bolivia), seasoning and cooked to perfection. Extremely friendly servers, I just feel comfortable every time I eat there.

Love love the saltenas here. I honestly come and get them all the time and they never let me down. Chicken is my go to and I love it. You can even call ahead to reserve some since they tend to run out and once you can be there in reasonable time they will hold them for you. The people here are also very lovely and they have lots of desserts and a full menu that you can choose from.

Food is tasty but overpriced! A cuñapé for over $ 5.00!! That's ridiculous! A small cheese/bread treat shouldn't be more than $ 1.99! I know that everyone has increased their prices.. but be reasonable!

Beef saltenas is always a must, great comfort food and good customer service. You see what you get from the menus and on point and quality.

This is my go-to for salteñas! Highly recommend both the chicken and beef flavors. The bread is crispy and the inside is stewy. How does that magic happen??

6/4/22 Another place my wife introduced me to. This place has been here ten years and today is my first time here. I ordered the patty double cheeseburger even though it is called a double patty hamburger and it comes with cheese. The bacon wasn't included in my ordered, but my wife doesn't like it when I eat pork. "No pork for me." The place went through waves of guests getting orders, but the managers and cooks got it done. My wife's order did not come out right, but the problem was quickly fixed with an apology. The food is good, but there is one big problem. We did not have enough room for dessert. We will have to come back here to try a dessert of the menu. We will do so soon.

I ONLY COME FOR SALTANEAS & TUCUMANAS. I have been coming here for years and the flavor has not changed nor has the atmosphere. It's a quiet little bakery. Honestly a while back, the staff wasn't too friendly this last time I went although they didn't speak and kind of looked at me weird at first, I wasn't backing down from the food. They no longer sell the TUCUMANAS but they still have the authentic SALTANEAS, which were magnificent!!! The sweet bread moist and deliciousness of the baked treat is sooooooo delightful . You can pick chicken or beef - Please do not knock it b4 you try it! I travel for food!!! And it was sure worth it. O yeah and their cakes are nice and gluffy pretty and I'm very picky I only get strawberry kiwi cake which is AHMAZING!!!!

A really good small locally owned place. They have a really good clean refreshing horchata!! So comes to find out this is a Bolivian restaurant! So they have things like paella which is a moist saturated with flavors with sausages and lots of seafood and they also have I think it's called saltenas(?) it's a small stew in a pie form. Lots of beef, potatoe, other veggies and (an egg I think) the service is great! She will ask you what you like and give feedbacks on what's good! Overall very great place! I highly recommend you try it out!

Great Spanish food. Try the Chairo soup. Beef soup it is so good with tender beef. The Fricase soup/stew with pork ribs which is flavorful and a little spicy. The stews here are good with rice and some chocolo (corn). Try their stews such as the picante de lingua. Soft tender meat served with corn, tomato onion and a stew potatoes with rice. Nicely done and flavorful. They're baked goods is also fresh and delicious try the Napoleon as well as the casava with cheese.

The worst service and food in the area! Be very careful! This restaurant uses leftovers from the day before claiming that is fresh! Not true! The salvadorean management and not Bolivian introduced this bad behavior. Many people got sick, reported!

I just discovered this small restaurante that surprised me with a good service and delicious "Salteñas". It is small and easily full of clients in the weekend but they were fast and kind with my take out order.Prices are reasonable and there is a good variety in the menu. I like the sweet options and the exotic Empanada de Cebolla con Queso but I am not sure that's the name, I know the content is the exotic combination of onions and cheese but don't expect to find a lot of cheese, it's a bolivian dish and is not fully loaded because that's the way it is in Bolivia. I loved the "Chicha Morada" (a peruvian beverage sold here) and I will be back soon.

This is my Third visit and I have learned that customers only go here for the food, as the service is poor to say the least. Unfortunately, today was bad ALL around. Let's go back to the second visit... we entered and the tables were all taken but two, so we sat ourselves as that's how they prefer to serve. Within five minutes a family of Three came in and we had not yet been served nor had our drink order taken, so we kindly got up and grabbed a high table with only two chairs and gave the family of three a table to enjoy their meal. Both the family and Waitress thanked us for accommodating. Let me just say, the family who we gave up our table to received their drinks and food before we were even noticed again. Today. Now our Third and FINAL visit took the cake. We entered the restaurant at 2:50pm, they had a sign up that said they closed at 3:30pm. So we were ready to scarf down and get out in time for the staff to enjoy their holidays. Upon getting sat down, we ordered two coffees, a sprite, salteñas and was told that there were no cuñapés left as the oven was turned off.... people were still picking up their orders and I feel sorry for them. I had to ask for a menu and still felt rushed to order. I asked for the Falso Conejo and they "were out". So we ended up with the sopa mani and Fricase. We put the order in by 3pm, the women were counting out their tips by 3:10pm. At around 3:15, we heard the kitchen bell ring three times, Nobody moved. At 3:20 it rang again. 3:25 a woman noticed us just sitting there staring at the wall and came over and asked if we were okay. I replied "Yes, just waiting for our food". She went into the back and the cook told her he had rang the bell several times to let us know the food was ready. Not being our waitress, I understand it was not her fault. Yet, our waitress NEVER checked back in with us. Once our food arrived, not only was it already cold, but EVERYTHING was microwaved. The fries in the sopa mani were worst than left over twice baked frozen fries so we did not eat it. There were Two (not exagerating) noodles in the whole bowl. I had asked for no salad nor tomatoes on my plate, that request was ignored. But, to top if all off, check the pictures of our food. Instead of rice I got porridge. They must have nuked it so bad that it because mush, then they tried to fix it by adding clumps of butter. Finally you can tell they gave up and just send it out with a green onion garnish . The meat felt like it came out of a frozen dinner box. Please do better for your future customers and treat them well as they are paying for what they order.

Ordered the beef salteñas and loved them. Their tres leches is also fantastic. Definitely recommend when in the area

The food at this place is ok, we started to come to it many years ago, it was better then, but the greed of the owner is endless, for example: if you need to catch up with inflation, what would you do? Raise the price? Correct!! The greed of this individual is bottomless, he has raised the price at least 4 times, but that is not the end, he has cut the portions to a third of its original size, add to it that they cant never get it right. One constant issue, you order a steak well done, it does not matter what you order, it will always come almost burnt in the outside and raw inside. Sadly compared with our initial trips which we used to make purposely to eat there and the food was great, the price was great and the portions were decent, now we go much much less and we are passing by. Lets dont forget the loud heavy rock music that play for breakfast and refuse to lower the volume, because that is the wish of the owner. We probably wont go backs as much if ever, greed works for awhile but eventually catches up with you.

The salteñas here are excellent! I went to this place on the recommendation of two Bolivian peeps and I was not disappointed. They have a pastry case with lots of sweet and savory baked goods, including both chicken and beef salteñas (sort of like a liquid-filled empanada for the uninitiated). I also got some cornbread with cheese that was top notch. Lunch specials rotate during the week. The day I went there was chicken soltado (chicken pieces with French fries and veggies in a salty gravy sauce). My dining partner practically licked the plate clean. Plenty of parking, but the store itself is small so you may have to wait to grab a table. I'll definitely be back soon.

As a cook (and wannabe baker) who holds out hope of one day competing on the British baking show, I'm a big fan of simple, well-seasoned food. People underestimate just how delicious appropriately-salted and adequately-spiced food is. This shop is very unassuming, yet they make one of the best paellas that I've had outside of Peru. Like a once-beloved teacher of mine used to say, "Never judge a book by its cover." I should also admit that he was sleeping with a student, so take that with a grain of salt.

Saltenas were awesome. I prefer the beef, but the chicken is equally lovely, just a bit sweeter. Nothing wrong with that, I was just in more of a savory kind of mood. I also had the Asado Criollo which was tender and juicy and came with a scoop of rice and a bed of fries. YUMMMMM. Seasoning was perfect! My husband ordered a Spanish omelet, which he enjoyed thoroughly. I don't understand the reviews where people said the staff was unfriendly or lacked customer service skills. All of the ladies and the two gentlemen present were great, accommodating, and very sweet. Prices were very reasonable. I'll come again to check on the consistency of the service for fun, but today everything--the food, the atmosphere, and the service--was great!

I used to live in an apt complex walking distance to this little restaurant/cafe. I've gone several times for their lunch specials or just to pick up a snack. I've never eaten something I didn't enjoy here. The prices are fair and they give you such a large amount of food! The saltenas are perfect for a quick bite - they have beef and chicken ones, both are good but I prefer the chicken ones. Almost like a chicken pot pie in handheld form, but with a tad sweeter taste due to the breading. Eat it with the spicy green sauce and you have the perfect combo of savory, sweet, and spice all in one! ps. make sure to stop by Sugar Mamas nearby for some ice cream dessert afterwards

Love love their saltenas. Nice chewy, cakey dough with meat inside - every culture has a hand pie. Saltenas are one of the best.

Pros: salsa on the side Cons: -Food/safety Hazard: Place Hot Fried food directly on styrofoam resulting the food having styrofoam particles and I had to throw it out. -Cheap with sauce: When you eat at the restaurant (before COVID) they would give you a large bowl of green sauce. Now you only get 1 Tablespoon of green sauce. -Grease they fried the meat in tastes off. Has a sour aftertaste. -Time to find a new Bolivian place. This place has potential but is sloppy at handling food.

I vaguely remember trying amazing saltenas a while back from some friends and when I saw this almost "generic" looking bakery, I realized the saltenas were from here! Don't let the exterior fool you, it is a gem! I definitely want to come back to try more dishes from here. The beef saltenas have a bit of sweetness to them and it's filled with huge chunks of potatoes and beef. The exterior is soft and baked to perfection, the inside is hearty and juicy. The green sauce adds a little kick but pairs really nicely with the saltena. The spicy chicken also has chunks of chicken and potatoes. Super filling and the perfect handheld size. The place inside is small and only has a few tables. There were stickers on the floor to mark physical distancing.

I came back for the salteñas and they're still as good as ever! This time I tried some more dishes like the Lomo Saltado, which was incredibly huge and filling. I'll tell you one thing, the potatoes here are no joke! They will fill you up quick! Another thing I am in love with here is the Horchata! I've never been anywhere that nails the consistency and balance of the flavors and the milk so perfectly. Definitely a must try, you won't regret ;) Menu is the same, huge selection, kind of mid-range pricy-ish, but for that portion, I don't mind leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

Omg!! Came here yesterday for lunch and was completely amazed!! We started with the saltenas because... duh why not! They were piping hot when they came out... I think I burned my hand because I'm inpatient haha. Then we had our entrees which the lomo saltado was unbelievable!! Out of this world... best I've ever had!!! And for ten bucks (lunch special that included a soda or bottle of water) even better! I'd easily pay twenty bucks for this anywhere else! The seasoning was delicious, the meat tender and juicy! Everything about this screamed delicious... the only downside... it's what my wife ordered not me! -_- I had the thin steak with a fried egg and pico de Gallo... it was good but failed in comparison to the lomo saltado. I mean don't get me wrong... I enjoyed my lunch as well... I love fried eggs on everything; but after trying my wife's dish I was a little disappointed. They also provided us with free desert, I think tres leche cake? I'm not entirely sure... it's not my thing but the thought was very nice. This place is more "hole in the wall" than corporate and there isn't a huge seating area but if you're looking for some amazing food make sure you stop by! Parents note: this single family bathroom does not have a drop down changing table

Got 2 chicken saltenas and 2 beef. They were sooo good!!! Mega stuffed and flavorful. I highly recommend this cute little place

Pleasant and courteous staff, tasty brunch in a comfortable venue. Varied dishes- they have pozole (!) on some days, as well as siete mares! Also more local dishes and a nice collection of baked goods. Worth checking out.

I decided to give this shop another try (several years after my last visit), and I'm still not a fan. It's not terrible, but there's a lot that could be improved. One suggestion would be to have signage to explain what the items in the counter are. There can be language communication barriers and with a line of people behind you, it creates an awkward and socially painful situation to try to figure out what items are and if they contain allergens or meat. Please use signs with names of foods and ingredients (cheese, beef, etc). In any case, my cheese empanada was okay. It tasted a little dry/stale (my same complaint several years ago), but still okay.

One of the best local salteña places I've ever been to! Usually I have to drive soooo far to get some until I found this place in Fairfax! Everything is so fresh and great tasting, especially their jalapeno & cheese empanadas! My favorite!! The staff is VERY friendly and welcoming as well and its always packed with customers! I definitely recommend this place to anyone in need of a good local bakery!

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! Went to this place to get some baked goods TO GO and they seriously charged me a 20% tip AUTOMATICALLY on my bill. When questioned they said it's their store policy!?!? What bakery charges tip to an order for pastries to go? Food was decent although I've had better in the area (Falls Church, Arlington, Alexandria). Would not go back just because of their lowballing business practices.

This is cassava roll, didn't even taste yet. Is it really worth $3.99 ? This is not a loaf, a little bigger than a roll.

This is a small but with very good service, food and some sweet for enjoy with your friends or husband. We were there and tried the empanada with rice and cheese, and tongue with rice as well. Both plates were delicious. It's kind of homemade stile of food. The bakery have many delicious deserts. I choose the tiramisu. So, if you want something not to expensive, feel like eating at home with a good dessert at the end this is a good place to go.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while and finally decided to stop by. I dined in and got the lomo saltado which was good. They load on the beef, onions, and some tomatoes over a bed of fries. They seem to have a good weekday special between 10am-3pm. I will come back to try some of their bread and bakery items, but from a quick peek they had some cakes, baklava, churro, and other treats. Employees were nice. Seems to be more of a to-go place since the dining area is small with limited seating.

The paella lunch special today was so good. Filled with shrimp, chicken, calamari, mussels. The sauce was delicious as well. They gave us complimentary flan for dessert. The dessert and bread case is filled with things we want to try. Definitely coming back.
