The Best Restaurants In Burien - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Anything croissant-based at Bakery Nouveau is fantastic, like the junction croissant that’s stacked with ham, bacon, scrambled egg, and white cheddar—and capable of feeding two people. Or the flaky twice-baked almond croissant that you should get for now, for later, or “for the table.” Just know that this place is no secret, so expect a line on weekend mornings." - nate watters, gabe guarente

Bakery Nouveau Burien - Review - Burien - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Bakery Nouveau is no secret. Yes, there’s probably a line on any weekend morning. Yes, they serve some of the best pastries in this entire city. No, you should definitely not eat their twice-baked almond croissant in the car on your way to a job interview. Unless your idea of a good first impression is a shirt and face covered in toasty flakes and powdered sugar, respectively. Anything here is going to be fantastic, especially if it’s croissant-based. Like the junction croissant, stacked with ham, bacon, scrambled egg, and white cheddar—and capable of feeding two people. The kouign amann and apple danish shouldn't be overlooked, either." - Nate Watters

Last-Minute Easter Meals for Takeout and Delivery in Seattle - Eater Seattle

"All three locations of the venerable French bakery (in Burien, West Seattle, and Capitol Hill) offer several Easter sweets for no contact pickup, including hot cross buns, brioche rolls, spring cakes, and Easter bunnies in white, dark, and milk chocolates. Some of the more eye-catching items include artistically-decorated chocolate eggs, which could be used almost as centerpieces as well as dessert. Custom orders are available, but must be made by Thursday." - Gabe Guarente

Fun little stop I would not even have expected in Burien. The large pretzel one was delicious and so was my sandwich and tea. I love all the art in the nearby alley.

Have been here once before and wanted to come back while we were in the neighborhood. Got a small assortment of pastries for later, the brisket croissant, one of the ham and cheese bagels, a white chocolate mocha, and a latte. To start, this location is beautiful, has a really nice assortment of breads/pastries/cakes, and as always it’s so fun to see through the floor into the chocolate making area. It was busy, even at 9am, so all the employees were hustling to get everyone’s orders. Employees are great, professional, and puttin in the work. The coffees are very good. Latte was simple, but very tasty. I got my white chocolate mocha as a breve, but it was absolutely delicious. I prefer mine iced and I’m very happy with what I got. You can definitely tell the chocolate is house made since it’s not grainy like the chocolate powder mix lot of coffee places use. I got the brisket croissant, which ultimately was very good, but a little heavy for the morning. I couldn’t finish it, but there is a generous amount of brisket in this thing and we had no complaints about it. The ham and cheese bagel was also good. Had nice a crunch to the crust, but inside was soft. It’s what a toasted bagel should be. It was so hard to choose which pastries to get, but I’m most looking forward to eating the caramel apple tart and the pear danish. Generally this bakery is pricey, but for what they offer it’s worth the price considering their time put into making everything fresh. Watching them constantly bring out new items for the case was really nice to see. We didn’t get the quiche this time, though we enjoyed it last time we came in. Looking forward to coming back :)

Google
Great chocolates and the cranberry vanilla croissant was delicious 🤤. We also had another baked good but forgot to take a picture that was good. The sandwiches and baguettes looked great and the staff was friendly and patient. Pretty busy place! Prices are...a little on the higher end.

Google
Mind-blowing doesn’t even begin to cover it 🤯🥰😇🥖☕️ If I could give Bakery Nouveau more than five stars, I would. From the moment you walk in, it feels magical. There’s a glass floor where you can watch chocolate being crafted beneath your feet, and to the left is a whimsical wonderland of hot-air balloons, gelato, chocolates, pastries, breads, tea, and coffee. Front and center is a giant trophy proclaiming “World’s Best Baguette,” and let me tell you… it earns it. I brought my toughest foodie friend from Fremont to judge, and we both agreed, the baguette sandwich is hands-down the best in Seattle. Crackly crust, airy center, and brie so creamy you close your eyes in happiness. Then came the quiche, we didn’t expect it to steal the show, but it did. Truly the best quiche we’ve ever had. Flaky, buttery crust with a silky custard center that felt like savory velvet. We couldn’t stop there… we had to go for dessert and the strawberry pistachio cake delivered. The complexity of this cake was just as powerful as the other two dishes, a gorgeous mousse masterpiece that tasted like springtime in Paris. This isn’t just a bakery. It’s an experience, and one you’ll want to tell everyone about. Run, don’t walk.

Google
Beautifully crafted chocolates, food and pastries.i picked up a slice of the quiche Lorraine and the California club sandwich for later. Both were delicious. I had them heat up the quiche, 10 minutes later it still had a cold spot but was very good. It is fairly expensive and the crowds make it hard to look through the cases and know what you want by the time you're asked to order.

Google
Bought a Croissant and it was so flakes and buttery. I left a message to have someone call me back and they did right away. I ordered a cake for a friend and the staff helped me pick it out. It was the perfect choice. The packaging was great too.The pistachio cake was delicious.

Google
Tasty and delicately made sweet treats- cakes and cookies. It is a small place that can be crowded and pricy for small portions of sweets.

We tried several pastries at Bakery Nouveau and really enjoyed everything! • German Chocolate Cake Slice: The chocolate cake layered with coconut, pecan, and caramel frosting was really good — rich and perfectly balanced. • Twice Baked Almond Croissant: This one was also amazing — flaky, buttery, and full of flavor. • Chocolate Croissant: Delicious as well, though I wish it had been warmed up a little before serving. • Pumpkin Iced Coffee: Great seasonal drink! They make their own pumpkin purée, which gives it a nice, natural flavor. Overall, the experience was really good. It can get a bit crowded and noisy, so it’s not the best spot if you’re looking for a quiet place to study. The line moves quickly, but seating is very limited — only about four tables, with two larger ones. All the associates were friendly, helpful, and made ordering easy.

Yelp
KEVIN! The most helpful, informative, and kind worker I could imagine boxed up my many pastries, offered suggestions, and made me feel quite at ease despite the hustle and bustle and seemingly endless options I faced. This bakery boasts a beautiful view of the chocolate mixer beneath an ornate glass floor panel. There are several cases of sparkling and shiny chocolates that while I'm sure are wonderful, did not catch my eye as much as the pastry case. There are two cases with a large variety of chocolate, fruity, and nutty creations from which to choose. I got the bread pudding, a lemon meringue, pecan chocolate, and so many more for a delightful collection to bring to a gathering and the crowd was PLEASED! Every bite was full of textural and flavor delights and I am devastated I don't live closer to enjoy it more often. Thank you Bakery Nouveau for a wonderful experience that I won't soon forget!

Yelp
I havent had this place in years and I am glad I came back to eat and get some goodies. It is busier and better than I last had them too! Upon arriving, I was surprised to see a line during the early lunch rush. Years ago, there was no line and I was able to get a seat and treat in no time. Now, it took about 15 minutes from end of line, to deciding, then ordering. I also ordered coffee which took about another 5 minutes. I was lucky to even snag a spot. I ordered a quiche and a Cardamom Latte to enjoy there. Quiche was light, fluffy, and crust was perfectly flaky. Loved the option for medium or dark roast for a latte. Latte was just the way i liked it with a hint of cardamom. I ordered a chocolate pie to go and individual chocolates. Despite their tiny size, it was $3 per individual chocolate, so it was a bit overpriced. Chocolate pie made sense for $9 and didnt taste overly sweet nor was the crust hard to bite into. My SIL hasnt been by here in years and either and raved how good the sandwich and pies were as well. Overall, we both will be coming back again soon. Its a good spot to catch up, wind down, and enjoy some good coffee and treats on a Sunday early afternoon.

Yelp
This location is far nicer than their other locations. Easily accessible with their available parking lot. The layout is larger than the Capitol Hill location. I like see the through floor section looking into their industrial mixer. Offerings are similar to their other locations. I always get their twice baked almond croissant, kouign-amann, junction croissant, and ballet cake. In addition to pastries on the go, I've also ordered their seasonal blueberry limoncello cake for my father-in-law's birthday. This was an advanced online order and I highly recommend visiting their website for a full list of available cakes. They also have various selections of macarons, sablés, chocolates,. and other seasonal items. They also have savory pastries which are perfect for lunch on the go.

Yelp
This bakery offers a wide variety of croissants and pastries as well as savory items. I got the brisket and cheese sandwich and the cinnamon roll. I got both heated and was only disappointed my sandwich wasn't warm all the way through. The workers there are so nice and had I eaten in person I probably could have asked for it to be heated more. The croissant was perfection though! So buttery and flaky. For a coffee, brisket sandwich and cinnamon roll my total cost was close to $30. Since I was visiting from out of state, I wanted to try everything but the prices are a little steep. Definitely recommend if you're coming from the airport or in the area. You will not be disappointed. There was a short line when we arrived but it went fairly quickly. The ambiance is similar to a bakery cafe. They have a few tables to sit at but not nearly enough space for the crowd that comes here.

Yelp
Stopped by Bakery Nouveau for a quick breakfast and ordered the Ham and Cheese Croissant with a cappuccino -- and wow, it was exactly what I needed to start the day! The croissant was perfectly flaky and buttery, filled with Black Forest-style ham, melted Swiss cheese, and just the right amount of creamy béchamel. Savory, rich, and satisfying without being too heavy. The cappuccino was smooth and well balanced, with beautiful foam art on top. The display case was full of tempting pastries (I'll definitely be back to try more!), and the service was quick and friendly. A perfect morning treat.

Yelp
I love the options that Bakery Nouveau offers. So many yummy items and the customer service is amazing. Nice, clean and busy place. I would highly recommend!

Anna S.

Yelp
This place was good a few years back. Now the quality and customer service has gone downhill. I ordered an Italian sandwich, looks straight up like someone regurgitated it out. I ended up eating a quarter of the sandwich, and tossed the rest. The cashier yawned in my face, mouth open and everything. It was literally 12pm and she's over here yawning. The many employees had colored hair, piercings on the face and some other unmentionable things. I just feel like it's not professional and hygienic looking to have that sort of appearance especially when working with food. Note, do not order teas from here, it's watered down and not fragrant. I won't be visiting this location again.

Yelp
Amazing people and food must must try Double baked chocolate croissants are amazing. Their cinnamon rolls are amazing. Their bread is amazing sweet bread anyway! Much better than their competitor down the street.

Yelp
It's places like this that the phrase "died and gone to heaven" was invented for! We had family in town so we preordered their signature cake to bring to family in Portland (ex Seattlites, still in love with Bakery Nouveau and familiar with all three locations, can't show up without this specific item, and they don't even have to tell me!) and then also picked up several treats for breakfast, both sweet and savory. The Junction Croissant is my favorite, hands down THE BEST. I will order it every time, assuming it's not sold out yet. The delicious melty cheese perfectly holds together the soft and scrumptious scrambled eggs amid the bed of ham slices with crispy bacon topping it all and bookended by to-die-for croissant pieces. The twice baked chocolate almond croissant is also a must. Then if you're lucky, aim for (in no particular order and not necessarily what we got this time around...): the maple sausage in a croissant (rarely available); brisket sandwich; ham and cheese croissant; pear tart; every other sweet in the case, and go ahead and grab a Brie based sammy for later (make sure to warm it when you're ready to eat it). When you visit the shop, please do be positively DELIGHTED by the floor window gazing down into the vat of chocolate below, whether the vat is full and spinning or empty, and no matter your age... who wouldn't want to imagine themselves swimming in a personal fondue fountain tub?! (That's not what it's there for, health code, but we all dream it was so...). Enjoy a lavender latte or warm beverage and if you can grab a table to dine at, do so and have fun people watching and the myriad of orders passing by as you note everything you'll want to try the next 1800 visits you inevitably will want to have if your future! Did I mention this place is good?!

Yelp
THE BEST BAKERY IN THE GREATER SEATTLE AREA! Chocolate croissants are a must-have, love the ratatouille sandwich, as well as the Italian grinder sandwich. Their seasonal pot pie is to die for!! Line can be long, but totally worth the wait. Reccomend coming early on weekends before your faves sell out.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
Quite an upscale establishment for the environs. Prices reflect the atmosphere but the offering are scrumptious! Do not miss the Chocolate, Almond, Twice-baked Croissant. The staff are as delightful as the pastry. House made chocolate and confections are also here as is a barista and quality Joe!
google avatar

Yelp
Inferior BN. No latte deal with coffee, and out of a ton of inventory by 10 on a Sunday. Go to west Seattle.

Yelp
If you're looking for amazing fresh breads, pastries, coffee, espresso, gelatos, macarons, and sandwiches that's near SeaTac International Airport, must visit Bakery Nouveau. Cream Cheese Danish was a light, flaky, fluffy pastry that upholds structure very well. Cream cheese tasted light. Raspberries and blueberries offered a natural sweetness. Smoked Chicken Sandwich is extraordinary. Light. Great sustenance for early or late riser. Cinnamon roll is soft on inside and edges are flaky. My son said twice while cutting his cinnamon roll, "I'm happy!" Workers are friendly. There's an indoor restroom. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great bakery! I discovered this bakery by accident while I was in the area. It is worth the trip. The chocolate crossiant and twice baked chocolate crossiant were delicious . Also the see through floor to the chocolate vat is very cool

Yelp
Could not believe how busy this was on a Thursday morning. It was so cutesy and outta a storybook. It's tricky to figure it what to eat/drink without an easily posted menu. I spotted a rosemary focaccia bread which was absolutely delicious and finished off within two days. It's light airy & savory by itself or with toppings. I wish I had bought two. I bought my kiddos cookies and was bummed that it was al a cart without an option for a box. Next time, I'll have to try a specialty tea!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the epitome of a treat for me, every time we come by we have to stop and grab a chocolate croissant or nouveau chocolate croissant, a Chocolate loaf (bread?) if we can get our hands on it (yay we snagged the last one btw) sometimes the Twice baked chocolate croissant which is insane!! And if I've been really good, and I always am, a slice of the Classic Chocolate Cake. Their croissants are to die for, flaky and perfect in every way but let me tell you about their chocolate cake, you see too many times you come across a so called chocolate cake and its either a mousse cake or a torte, but the intense chocolatiness without being cloying and the moist cake is perfect in every way. Love love love this place
google avatar

Doug G.

Yelp
Best sit down coffee shop in Burien and the baked good are phenominal. The Croke is to die for.
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
I placed my order ahead of time because I read they often sell out of sandwiches and other items. When I arrived around 9:30 there was a line outside as there had been some kind of accident inside and they weren't letting customers enter until they had fully cleaned up. They were still serving just from outside. I was t able to see everything they had to offer but customer service was great and the food was even better! The ratatouille sandwich was piled high with marinated vegetables and the sauce they use added so much flavor. The twice baked almond croissant was packed with almond filling and they didn't skimp on the almond topping. It is at the top of my list for best almond croissants I've had. I would love to go back for more of both. I wish they were open on Monday and Tuesday.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing but they've had so many POS issues in the mornings lately that it makes it difficult to come get things for work. Honestly can't trust it super early anymore. Try and go later in the day and have a second option if you're trying to go super early

Yelp
This Bakery Nouveau location can be found across the street from WAMOS with a small parking lot. In the mood for something sweet, my husband, our little girl dog and I decided to check out this location (I had one of their locations in Seattle bookmarked but was surprised to see on Yelp that there was another location closer to where we were since we happened to be in Federal Way). We came by this afternoon a little after 2 pm. We were able to get parking and walked in. After looking around the bakery cases, we ended up ordering: Coconut Cookie, $2.75- This coconut cookie has cashews and chocolate caramel chips mixed in with toasted coconut. The ingredients in this cookie intrigued me and am glad I decided to get it because it was really good. I really liked the taste of all the flavors of this cookie. It wasn't too sweet and had a nice chew to it. I would order this again. Twice Baked Almond Croissant, $6- My husband opted to get this croissant. I didn't have any but he and our little girl devoured it. There was an almond filling inside and the croissant was nice and flakey. Birthday Macron, $2.50- I just love birthday flavored anything and so I had to get this. There was actual birthday cake in the macron filling, which surprised me because I have never had a macron that had cake in it. I really enjoyed it and so did my little girl. --------------------------- (Total= $11.25) After we purchased our items, we sat outside with our little girl. Although it was a sunny afternoon, the umbrellas were able to keep the sun off our faces. Service was friendly. We were greeted upon entering and the employees behind the counter were all very friendly. I can see why this location's overall rating is ~ 4.5 stars with nearly 400 reviews. I really enjoyed our visit and look forward to coming back when I am in town.

Yelp
Where do I start. We decided on a whim to stop by and get some goodies today. You know a place is good when there's a line out the door and nothing special happening except it's a Saturday. We got: twice baked almond croissants. Probably the best croissants I've ever had! Apple danish, this was almost a cross between a croissant and a really yummy apple pie. junction: we had them heat thjs up, out of the two savory options this was the best imo. It was a croissant with egg, cheese, ham and bacon. I might go back again just for this Ham and cheese croissant. This was just ok. I probably wouldn't order it again it was on the dry side and needed less ham and more cheese. It wasn't bad, just not the best. All in all it was a 42 minute drive I made one way for these goodies and I'd gladly do it again. If you haven't been. Go!!

Yelp
This is the bakery I bring out of town guests. My go-to is still Twice Bakery Almond Croissant; and also Junction Croissant if you are lucky. Check the menu online for seasonal baked goods from the Holiday Shop. This year I decided to get the Advent Calender. Here is a hack: they offer the Calender refills (without the box) for half the price ($75 instead of $150). There are also chocalte boxes and jams that make great holiday gifts.

Yelp
Just off the plane from an early flight and we wanted to catch an early breakfast before we headed up to Snoqualmie for a wedding. We were looking for something unique with a variety of offerings that could introduce us to the whole Northwest vibe thing. Introducing Bakery Nouveau! A line out the door on this Saturday morning and it moved slower than expected. Many folks ordered more than just pastry and baked goods. Anything that needs to be heated up was heated slowly and carefully so as not to get dried out (a good thing). Kouign Amann - 5 stars - Crispy outer crust with an inside that is a bit more breaded than a croissant. Less sweet than most pastry and exactly what we were looking for. Hot Ratatouille Sandwich - 5 Stars - Multiple layers of eggplant, zucchini, peppers, red onion, on a garlic Parmesan focaccia that was robust enough to hold the juiciness. Hot Smoked Brisket Croissant - 5 Stars - A croissant filled with smoked brisket, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and béchamel. Delicious Warm Quiche Loraine - 4 Stars - Thick and eggy with ample spinach. We sat outside on a warm 75F morning at one of the 3 tables in the deck. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Meh. I used to love the quality and freshness. 2 years ago 6.00 for the best cake in Seattle. Now 9.00 for box cake and attitude. Sad it's happen to a institution of Seattle! All about the greed.

Yelp
Really wanted to love this place, and thought I had found my new go to bakery, but after my last visit, I can't bring myself to return. On my last visit there, I had ordered several items. While eating the chocolate bread later that day, I discovered a large mold spot on the bottom of the bread... completely gross, completely unacceptable, and completely destroys their freshness claim. Tried calling them, but kept going straight to voicemail every time even during regular business hours. Had such high hopes, but now can't trust that anything there is truly fresh and what other nasty surprises I'll find in my food from them. Would have given them a single star but I did previously find some tasty items there (and now really, really hoping my prior items didn't also have mold on them or anything else that I didn't notice). I really enjoyed the ham and cheese baguette (although the second time I ordered it, it tasted differently, still really good, but would have expected more consistency). The croissants were so so and no where near what I expected should come from a quality bakery - it wasn't even worth finishing it. I also found the tiramisu to be a bit below average (at least compared to other bakeries) and it's usually one of my favorite desserts. The coffee cake was tasty, and the chocolate bread would probably have become my favorite until I discovered the mold across the bottom of it. The other items I tried were just in the average range. Overall, there appeared to be a few standout items, a bunch of just average ones for a supposed top rated bakery, but the mold just made it impossible for me to go back. How is mold supposed to be on a "freshly" made item? I just don't want to go back to somewhere I have to constantly inspect the food items to make sure it's safe and fresh before taking a bite from it.

Yelp
The bread and pastries at Bakery Nouveau are legitimately great, but they really could use a better way to manage their lines. There's really no reason a line of only ~15 people deep takes 30 minutes to go through. Part of the reason is the inefficiency of having the line go right in front of the multiple counters. First is gelato, then chocolates, then cakes, then sandwiches, then pizza/quiche, and finally pastries, which is right next to the cashier. Because of this, if all you want are pastries, you have to wait all the way until you are near the end of the line before you can even see what the selection is (and the person helping you behind the counter needs to wait with you). You also have to wedge your way between the people trying to pay to see the selections. I think this could be solved with a number dispenser system, like in many delis. Anyways, enough ranting about the line. We originally came here hoping to snag the Kouign Amann, but according the the worker helping us, the ones they baked that day didn't meet their quality standards. We still got a number of pastries: Kugelhopf ($5.50) - This felt like a sweeter version of a small brioche-type bread that is baked in a ring pan reminiscent of a Bundt pan. The description indicated that it's soaked in rum butter, but I couldn't really taste any rum in this. There was a generous layer of white sugar applied to the exterior, adding additional sweetness. Twice Baked Almond Croissant ($6) - The texture wasn't what I was expecting at all on this - I was thinking this would be either extra crispy or maybe more like a hard scone texture, but instead it was somewhat soft and almost soggy on the interior, like it was soaked in sugar syrup. The syrup makes the croissant layers stick together. Not that this was a bad thing! The almond frangipane, which was both on the inside of the sliced croissant, and on top, was on point. It was finished with a bunch of silvered almonds and powdered sugar. The croissant was quite sweet, so if you have a sweet tooth, you'll definitely enjoy this one. Twice Baked Chocolate Croissant ($6.50) - The texture is exactly the same as the twice baked almond croissant, but filled with lines of homemade chocolate in addition to the frangipane. I liked this one more than the almond croissant - the slight bitterness of the chocolate balances out the extreme sweetness of the rest of the croissant. As a side note, they have bags of cacao beans and the floor has a glass window into their basement where you can see the mill where they grind the beans. Definitely cool! Blackberry Vanilla Croissant ($5.50) - A very good croissant - perfectly baked flaky and buttery layers surrounding a core of blackberry compote. The vanilla notes were muted in the face of the strong blackberry flavor, but everything was delicious here. The food at Bakery Nouveau is definitely great, but just be prepared to wait a lot longer than you think to get the goods.

Yelp
This bakery has quality ingredients so my family members with soy allergies can enjoy safely. They have so many delicious pastries. There's an assortment of savory and sweet and they are all flakey and wonderful. My mom just picked up my Dads birthday cake from here (a beautiful tiramisu cake). Anyway I had to write a review for the amazing employee who helped my mother. There was a mix up with the order which was NOT the bakery's fault but the employees (especially Eryn) went above and beyond to help. Eryn was so kind to my mom and even sorted through the trash to find the discarded order slip. Thank you Eryn! I hope you know what an impact your small act of kindness made! Best service ever and the food is amazing!

Yelp
The bread. The cakes. The pastries. All top notch. Prices seem to have gone up recently but to be honest it doesn't deter me and it shouldn't for you either. They put a lot of work into their products. You can taste it and see it. The staff is always helpful and speedy - even when the line is out the door. Cute French style decor but I'm usually taking things to go!

Yelp
This is more of a 3.5 star but I'm bumping it up since I can see myself coming back. We got there around 1030am on a Saturday morning and there was a line. It moved pretty quickly so it wasn't bad. Once it was our turn, we ordered: Twice baked almond croissant -- I had this before and this time it was a little on the over baked side but not too bad Garlic parmesan focaccia -- it's pretty good bread but I wouldn't call this focaccia...but good bread Cinnamon Roll --- dang there was SOOOOO much frosting on this thing you can barely see the actual pastry. Surprisingly it was good and you definitely need it as the cinnamon roll itself was on the dry side The place has some outdoor seating but nothing inside. It's more of a take and go kinda style. The person who was helping me was really nice and helpful though.

Yelp
There are a few bakeries in Seattle that sit atop the hierarchy of outstanding establishments, and Nouveau is one of them. The pastries are the place to start. Flaky, crispy, chewy, hearty, flavorful, in sweet and savory varities - one is all you need, but you will want to devour so many more. For heartier options there are pizza and sandwiches amd quiches. Each one I've tried is a delight. If you want the best that Seattle has to offer, Nouveau is a must visit.

Yelp
The one star is for customer service. This is the worst location among the 3. The staff (Pepper) that helped me was bitchy and rude and shoved the box at me cause I didn't give a tip. If you don't want to help, stay in the back. Didn't even say hello and shaped ' what did you say?!'

Yelp
First of all, they make an AMAZING cup of coffee. Being on a permanent quest to find the perfect cup of coffee, I think we have a winner here. Second, we want in hungry (usually a mistake but not in this case...) as we were about to catch one of the ferry runs to Vashon and had adequate time for some joe and a bite. A bite it was... we walked out of there with two huge, heavy boxes (Hey, we wanted to offer the family we were staying with a few choices, too). One of the lies I tell myself is "I'll remember what we bought for that Yelp review." Well, truth be told, I found bits of paper in the dryer which could only have been a receipt, my last clear chance to redeem myself for the purposes of this review. That said, I think that we got a Kouign Amann which was absolutely delicious... almost decadently so. The other pastries we purchased made us think that we were French aristocracy eating the world's best food. We did notice a member of the Seattle police walk by and suspiciously eye us as we fed each other (and ourselves) bits and pieces of the pastries we'd chosen, laughing like giddy school kids -- thinking we'd have to attempt to bribe him with a selection from one of our opened boxes (thinking foolishly that we COULD bribe him), but he went inside the bakery. Whew! Maybe we'd overstayed our limit in our parking space (limited to the time it takes to eat one pastry?)... it was getting to be time for us to wander down to the little house by the ferry and the nice grumpy person working for the state ferry system to buy some tickets. I'm not given to eating sweets, but the pastries here are just that good! If I lived here, I'd weigh 300 pounds from visiting this bakery alone. The service was superlative, particularly that our waitperson made our coffee -- obviously a morning person who enjoys their job and public contact. Prices? Well, what can I say? What price would YOU pay for perfection? King County shoved their way into our car to share in our meal (on the basis of the steep tax rate we paid). Shame on you, piggy. Anyway, I look forward to my next trip to Seattle, if only to get one more cup of their coffee and one more pastry. Well, maybe two...

Yelp
I'm mostly writing this as a review for the declining service at the Burien location. The general snark of many of the employees I've come to expect since their popularity is such that they seem to know people will tolerate the attitude. But in addition I've been trying to place a birthday cake order for 2 days as it's a requirement for 48 hrs notice. No one answers or calls you back the VM directs you to the website but when you click on the calendar you only have the option to order 5 days out. Sadly I'll have to slog down there Sunday morning and hope they have what I need as they seem to not want to take any orders over the phone. We ordered a couple of hundred dollars of baked goods for thanksgiving and the service was just as bad served up with enough attitude that we almost stoped going here. Love the baked goods not the attitude. Do better Nouveau.

Yelp
Stopped in on Saturday to grab some sandwiches and a loaf of Challah bread. This place is always hoppin busy but the line moves pretty steadily. Friendly staff with quick service. Very clean and and fun to see the chocolate factory thru the partial glass floor.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow...my favorite place for anything with croissants. Sheer perfection! It had been a few years since I last tried this place and forgot how amazing the pastries are. They are flaky, crunchy, buttery, and not too sweet with the fruit fillings. There's a small Peking lot, and fairly easy street parking. Small amount of tables if you wish to dine in. The folks are cheery and helpful. If you're craving a real croissant, this is the real deal...go!

Yelp
I have been making special trips to buy twice baked croissants from this place for 4 years, and two other locations for years before that. They were usually always amazing, 5 stars amazing! Lately, the last 6-9 months maybe, the twice baked almond croissants have been really dark on the edges. Today, every one I got was practically burnt. I'm so disappointed!! Every time I go, I ask for the lightest ones now because they have been so dark along the ends. The lady was kind enough to add an extra today, to make up for the over done edges but even so, eating it left a bitter taste in my mouth as ends were clearly burnt. I hope they can figure this out soon. It says "Passion for Baking" on the website but this product does not reflect that at all.

Yelp
This location is really nice. The service was friendly, quick, and helpful. The food and treats were very yummy. We liked the twice baked almond croissant. It was the best we have had. The window to the chocolate factory was cool.

Yelp
The baked goods here are so delicious !! The hot chocolate is also very tasty. If you come on busy days, they'll be super packed. Don't miss out, come try this bakery especially for their almond croissants and sandwiches. :)))

Yelp
One of the best bakeries I've ever been to. Love their pear danish and double toasted chocolate croissant. Their savory sandwiches were also delicious. Generous portions and unique in their offerings. Can't wait to return to get some more on our next trip.

Yelp
Bakery Nouveau is my all time favorite bakery. I always stop at the Burien location to pick up sourdough boules when I'm visiting WA. I also pick up croissants & pastries to share with my friends & family. Most recently I was able to communicate with Alyssa Propst who was not only the sweetest person, but incredibly informative. She went above and beyond to assist me with my order. Her kindness blew me away, I will forever remember our interaction and will continue to recommend Bakery Nouveau to all! Not only for the baked goods but for the top notch customer service. Much Mahalo Alyssa!

Yelp
Great selection of desserts and pastries! Picked up a 6 in. classic cheesecake for my husband's birthday recently and it was delicious!

Yelp
Ooh la la. Recently learned owner isn't French. The bakers must be...everything is mouthwatering...pastries, sandwiches, macaroons, bread, chocolates...

Yelp
What ISN'T good here?? If it's your first time, the twice baked chocolate croissant is a must! Any of their sandwiches is good too. They have an amazing chocolate cake and also their opera cake. Lately though, my favorite thing to get here is coffee. My go-to is a caramel latte. They're always pretty friendly here considering it gets super busy. The line gets long but I think their system is very efficient.

Yelp
I enjoy going to this bakery as they have so many delectable treats! I enjoy the croissants but always want to try something much more from their bread, chocolates, & seasonal candies. Always my go to bakery to visit when I'm in the area.

Yelp
I'm so glad they have they great place in Burien. This place is definitely a treat, do not go here if you're on a diet, because you will want to get one of everything. Super hard to resist and just pick one. There's plenty of savory and/or sweet treats. I tried the cinnamon roll and it was pretty good, especially when it's warmed up. The staff here is so warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! My husband, brother, and I came here for coffee and pastries. We tried the twice baked almond croissant, a custard filled brioche, and a chocolate croissant. All were excellent! Only wish that they'd open a location closer to my home in Sacramento....
