Bakin’ & Eggs - Review - Lakeview - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Do you like kids and strollers? Then you’ll enjoy eating at Bakin’ & Eggs, a family-friendly weekday breakfast spot in Lakeview. The menu has the usual suspects (pancakes, French toast, and biscuits and gravy) along with a number of frittatas. And in case screaming children might stress you out (yours or someone else’s), it might interest you to know that they also serve cocktails." - Adrian Kane

This place has a wonderful open layout with great lighting, aqua blue and gray walls and an over the counter bakery that makes it very inviting! The food was delicious, with creative and yummy recipes for anyone. Lattes were delicious, chilaquiles was as well! But I recommend splitting it cause it’s a huge amount of food. Banana pecan pancakes were everything you’d hope for! Definitely a must visit in Chicago. Only thing I’d say is they should definitely update their outdoor branding, the design looks pretty outdated.

We used the Google Assistant to make a reservation here! It was a sparsely decorated but nice interior. The staff was friendly, masked for COVID and we were seated quickly. Menus were available as a QR code or printed. We ordered oatmeal and a caramelized onion frittata with a cappuccino and a honey latte to drink. Would definitely order the honey latte again! The frittata was delicious but would recommend the cheese grits as a perfect complement. The oatmeal was steel cut and also surprisingly good and had some nice add-ins as well. Would definitely visit again!

Lovely restaurant. Good service, and great baked goods. Unique menu, but note - while the basic breakfast (eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes) wasn't listed on the menu, it is available.

GET. HERE. NOW. The bacon is to die for (honey & maple), the bloodys are no joke and the BLT is out of this world! Don’t skip out on Bakin’ & Eggs if you’re looking for a good brunch spot in Chicago!

This place is a busy brunch spot but the food and service match the buzz. The coffee is delicious and the staff are a perfect blend of witty and attentive. Try the bacon scone if you get a chance.

I ordered he shrimp and grits, the service was great. Shrimp and grits didn’t really flow together just but it was pretty good.

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots. If you like savory breakfasts, this is the spot for you. I've tasted around the menu, and everything is good. My personal favorites are the Southern Comfort Bowl and the Biscuits & Gravy tied. They have the best biscuits in town. The corned beef hash is a close contender though. The bacon flight isn't for me. I do like the Jalapeno bacon, but I don't taste a significant difference between the other bacon types. Their coffee drinks are as tasty as they are pretty. It's kid friendly. It can be a little loud with the kids, but it's a small price to pay to get one of those biscuits. This is a must try.

Met an old friend and chose this lovely spot in a neighborhood full of good restaurants. It was a Sunday and quite busy. Staff is super friendly, coffee is very good. Menu is nice with a few frittata choices and two sides in the $12.00 range. Our waiter was great and they didn't rush us even though they were very busy. It's a good spot for breakfast or lunch ad they have some nice looking buyers on the menu. Only one small flaw ambiance is no frills and it's a bit noisy. The neighborhood is evolving in a wonderful direction and Bakin' & Eggs is a reflection of this trajectory. Good spot run by good people!
