The 11 Best Salads In London That Will Bring You Joy

"A canteen-like spot on Waterloo’s Lower Marsh Road, Balance does a great, healthy lunch in the area. The move is to get one of their hefty salad boxes. The counter is a spread of big bowls, filled with saucy tahini-covered cauliflower mountains and refreshing Greek salads. They change daily but there’s always enough variation to suit everybody, and if there’s something with cauliflower or chickpeas, it’s usually a good bet. Get a mango smoothie as well and take your whole lunch to go." - heidi lauth beasley, daisy meager, sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak

Balance - Review - Waterloo - London - The Infatuation

"An industrial-feeling, canteen-like spot on Waterloo’s Lower Marsh Road, Balance is a bit soulless, but does a great, kind-of-healthy lunch in the area. They change daily but there’s always enough variation to suit everybody, and if there’s something with cauliflower or chickpeas, it’s usually a good bet. Brixton’s Best Restaurants | Where to Eat in Brixton | Eater London

"One of the longest-established coffee shops in the area, owner Ali’s business has come on leaps and bounds with the establishment of his own coffee roastery, Perception — which now provides the beans for his cafe alongside occasional guests from the likes of nearby Assembly. A neighbourhood fixture evolving at its own speed." - Yasmin Khan

My mum and I really love coming here! I have tried a few dishes over the years I have been coming here - it was my 1st time trying the sweet corn fritters, with added some scrambled egg. I would definitely have these again, they were very tasty and the eggs are a beautiful texture! Only 4 stars however as the Spinach was quite stringy and the avocado, oily? Overall very good, and the staff are very welcoming:)

Very enjoyable breakfast, we managed to sit quickly and we were served by the most polite, kind gentleman. It's on the pricier side but it's London, and clearly the ingredients used are good quality. Worth a stop in for sure. The coffee and tea were also very good.

Best coffee in the area! The cheese and tomato croissant is amazing, and the people working are so sweet and accomodating. My mother recommends the avocado aubergine. My only complaints would be the buzz from fridges, which doesnt actually take away from the experience itself.

I visit here for brunch on weekend. It’s quite packed but the friendly staff manage to give me a table. I have Turkish egg and build me up smoothies. The Turkish egg is fairly well, the toast somehow doesn’t taste so fresh. The smoothies is wonderful—the flavor is just right. I didn’t order the salad but their counter main and salad looked absolutely delicious.

Amazing cafe with a wide range of fresh food. The salad looked amazing but we visited for a birthday treat so went for pancakes instead! Food was incredible, the pancakes were light and fluffy and went perfectly with the bacon. The latte was also amazing! Staff were really friendly and the vibe in general was really chill.

Incredible Cafe the knowledge of the staff when asked about allergies- gf balance breakfast second to none. They are very friendly and happy to help. Gf English breakfast was the best I’ve had, other places should need to take lessons from this cafe. Everyone else said their dishes tasted sublime. Definitely will be a place to revisit in future.

Great location, one of my favourite food streets when in a rush. The cafe was nice with a great range of food, salads, quiche, sandwiches but expensive. We shared a halloumi wrap and had flat whites.

Warning: Reviewing as an American This restaurant has an option to order food and sit or to grab coffee to go. We purchased some waters, green ginger tea, porridge, a lemon muffin and toast. It was very nice quality for a great price. The porridge was warm with lots of fresh fruit and nuts on top. The Sourdough toast was delicious with butter and jam. I would 100% recommend for anyone wanting a light and easy breakfast.
