Baleen Returns to Miami a Decade After Closing | Eater Miami

"Reopened after nearly a decade, BALEENkitchen at the Sole on the Ocean returns the Grove Isle favorite under executive chef Adam Votaw—whose resume includes The Dining Room at Little Palm Island and Chispa—and features a tropical-flavored menu heavy on meat and seafood. Menu highlights include lobster sliders, spicy tuna tacos, calamari fritto, Caribbean conch chowder, miso-glazed mahi mahi, blue cheese crusted filet of beef and Key West pink shrimp, supported by an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list. The 4,200-square-foot space has floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor dining terraces that look onto the beach, offering both indoor and outdoor seating with maritime-themed decor. BALEENkitchen is open daily for breakfast (7 a.m.–11 a.m.), lunch (11 a.m.–4 p.m.) and dinner (6 p.m.–10 p.m.), with happy hour and brunch slated to launch later this year; valet is complimentary and the restaurant can be reached at 786-923-9305." - Olee Fowler

If you're looking for a relaxing moment on a stressful weekday, there's nothing better than a good time for happy hour, One of my best recommendations is a super nice place with the best bartender Ivana and the best service . Their cocktails are exquisite that bring you down to total relaxation while contemplating the ocean or at the bar enjoying delicious snacks. For the price, don't worry, I haven't seen anything better in terms of price and quality. Don't miss out on going to Baleen Kitchen located in Sunny Isle Beach, Miami Sole Hotel. Valet parking is free. Happy Hour 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. HHH.

This will be the second time we have dined at this restaurant. First time was amazing and was our favorite. Second time, we won't go back. Service definitely not the issue. We had the same waiter both times and he is amazing. Issue must be management and chef. The menu has really changed with less choices and less quality. Prices went through the roof. We were there for 5 nights and picked a fine dining option every evening. Baleen was our least favorite and most expensive this trip. It's fairly difficult to find. It's inside Sole Miami resort.

SoulEdge: Crimson Sky Dined there for breakfast. Met Kenny and another female employee (my apologies, I forgot her name) both gave good service. Being on a empty stomach, I ordered Eggs Benedict with cranberry juice. Sadly it wasn't good, the English muffins were not fully toasted. And the Poached Eggs needed one more minute. You have a good looking establishment, but please pay more attention to detail when it comes to food. I had dine next door at Vue Bristo+Terrace Bar. You can read my updated review with photos just in case. This visit dedicated to my then German American ex girlfriend. Cue in the song "The Glitch Mob - We Can Make The World Stop." 🇺🇸🇩🇪✌️🎸

We went for the key lime pie, but I loved everything my partners and I ordered. It was also a really nice, classy, chill atmosphere. We did have a little trouble finding it since we weren’t staying at the hotel and parked down the street, but other than that, would recommend. If nothing else, go grab a slice of their key lime pie!

The food was good but drinks were a little weak. Atmosphere and scenery were wonderful. Although our server was very nice he didn't come to the table often so if something was needed there was a wait...but in his defense he was also the bartender.

SoulEdge: Sunset Dawn... I called letting the staff know I will arrive late. They helped me out, gratitude you have my thanks. Daniel told me of the specials of the night. However I ordered Steak Frites and Key Lime pie. Good background music and atmosphere too. Love the American Flag logo over the bar, its awesome. This visit dedicated to my then German American ex girlfriend (she looks like Lagertha from a vikings tv show) cue in the song " My Sacrifice" by Creed ‧ 2001 🇺🇸🇩🇪✌️🎸

Had a couple of drinks with my boyfriend as the sun was setting. Gorgeous view outside on the balcony and from inside the restaurant as well. High quality ingredients for the drink, I didn’t think they were expensive for the level of quality, about $18 or $19 per cocktail if I recall? They appear to have an awesome Tuesday date night deal, sorry I don’t know the details! Outside on the balcony there was a high pitched buzzing noise being emitted near constantly that was incredibly annoying and almost made us leave at first but the sunset was so pretty that we decided to just ignore it as much as possible. I think that the noise was for protecting birds from flying into the windows and might be a state law requirement so not much to do about that. Valet parking out front, it’s up a driveway so street parking is a little further out Overall a very nice experience, the food sounded appetizing but I wasn’t hungry at the time unfortunately :/

We had an amazing dinner here. Usually restaurants in hotels are just mediocre but this was surprisingly excellent. Food was well seasoned, service was right on point and the atmosphere was wonderful. We had the ceviche, roasted chicken, seafood paella, crembrule, and key lime pie. I've had hundreds of slices of key lime pie, even in the Keys and this was the best I've ever had. It was amazing. Prices were what you'd expect to pay. Be aware that they do include a gratuity of 18% on your bill. We will absolutely be back and we highly recommend it! Well done.
