Baleen Returns to Miami a Decade After Closing | Eater Miami

"Reopened after nearly a decade, BALEENkitchen at the Sole on the Ocean returns the Grove Isle favorite under executive chef Adam Votaw—whose resume includes The Dining Room at Little Palm Island and Chispa—and features a tropical-flavored menu heavy on meat and seafood. Menu highlights include lobster sliders, spicy tuna tacos, calamari fritto, Caribbean conch chowder, miso-glazed mahi mahi, blue cheese crusted filet of beef and Key West pink shrimp, supported by an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list. The 4,200-square-foot space has floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor dining terraces that look onto the beach, offering both indoor and outdoor seating with maritime-themed decor. BALEENkitchen is open daily for breakfast (7 a.m.–11 a.m.), lunch (11 a.m.–4 p.m.) and dinner (6 p.m.–10 p.m.), with happy hour and brunch slated to launch later this year; valet is complimentary and the restaurant can be reached at 786-923-9305." - Olee Fowler

If you're looking for a relaxing moment on a stressful weekday, there's nothing better than a good time for happy hour, One of my best recommendations is a super nice place with the best bartender Ivana and the best service . Their cocktails are exquisite that bring you down to total relaxation while contemplating the ocean or at the bar enjoying delicious snacks. For the price, don't worry, I haven't seen anything better in terms of price and quality. Don't miss out on going to Baleen Kitchen located in Sunny Isle Beach, Miami Sole Hotel. Valet parking is free. Happy Hour 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. HHH.

This will be the second time we have dined at this restaurant. First time was amazing and was our favorite. Second time, we won't go back. Service definitely not the issue. We had the same waiter both times and he is amazing. Issue must be management and chef. The menu has really changed with less choices and less quality. Prices went through the roof. We were there for 5 nights and picked a fine dining option every evening. Baleen was our least favorite and most expensive this trip. It's fairly difficult to find. It's inside Sole Miami resort.

SoulEdge: Crimson Sky Dined there for breakfast. Met Kenny and another female employee (my apologies, I forgot her name) both gave good service. Being on a empty stomach, I ordered Eggs Benedict with cranberry juice. Sadly it wasn't good, the English muffins were not fully toasted. And the Poached Eggs needed one more minute. You have a good looking establishment, but please pay more attention to detail when it comes to food. I had dine next door at Vue Bristo+Terrace Bar. You can read my updated review with photos just in case. This visit dedicated to my then German American ex girlfriend. Cue in the song "The Glitch Mob - We Can Make The World Stop." 🇺🇸🇩🇪✌️🎸

We went for the key lime pie, but I loved everything my partners and I ordered. It was also a really nice, classy, chill atmosphere. We did have a little trouble finding it since we weren’t staying at the hotel and parked down the street, but other than that, would recommend. If nothing else, go grab a slice of their key lime pie!

Google
The food was good but drinks were a little weak. Atmosphere and scenery were wonderful. Although our server was very nice he didn't come to the table often so if something was needed there was a wait...but in his defense he was also the bartender.

SoulEdge: Sunset Dawn... I called letting the staff know I will arrive late. They helped me out, gratitude you have my thanks. Daniel told me of the specials of the night. However I ordered Steak Frites and Key Lime pie. Good background music and atmosphere too. Love the American Flag logo over the bar, its awesome. This visit dedicated to my then German American ex girlfriend (she looks like Lagertha from a vikings tv show) cue in the song " My Sacrifice" by Creed ‧ 2001 🇺🇸🇩🇪✌️🎸

Google
Had a couple of drinks with my boyfriend as the sun was setting. Gorgeous view outside on the balcony and from inside the restaurant as well. High quality ingredients for the drink, I didn’t think they were expensive for the level of quality, about $18 or $19 per cocktail if I recall? They appear to have an awesome Tuesday date night deal, sorry I don’t know the details! Outside on the balcony there was a high pitched buzzing noise being emitted near constantly that was incredibly annoying and almost made us leave at first but the sunset was so pretty that we decided to just ignore it as much as possible. I think that the noise was for protecting birds from flying into the windows and might be a state law requirement so not much to do about that. Valet parking out front, it’s up a driveway so street parking is a little further out Overall a very nice experience, the food sounded appetizing but I wasn’t hungry at the time unfortunately :/

Google
We had an amazing dinner here. Usually restaurants in hotels are just mediocre but this was surprisingly excellent. Food was well seasoned, service was right on point and the atmosphere was wonderful. We had the ceviche, roasted chicken, seafood paella, crembrule, and key lime pie. I've had hundreds of slices of key lime pie, even in the Keys and this was the best I've ever had. It was amazing. Prices were what you'd expect to pay. Be aware that they do include a gratuity of 18% on your bill. We will absolutely be back and we highly recommend it! Well done.

Yelp
My husband found this place online for our last dinner in miami. We were sat outside overlooking the ocean. Our server was so hospitable, friendly, and informative. Honestly his Hospitality elevated or experience so much, he was so sweet and warm and welcoming. We ordered the cheese board to start. I ordered the herbs chicken as my maib dish and my husband ordered the fish, and we couldn't say no to key lime pie for our last dessert in Miami! Everything tasted amazing! Unlike most of our outings, my husband and I were actually pretty full from lunch, but we still ate every single thing at this meal. Having something that tastes amazing even after a full really speaks to how great the quality of the food is. Overall I highly recommend this place, between the views, service, and food, you can't go wrong. I will definitely be coming back for my next visit to miami.

Yelp
3 Stars - Beautiful Morning Breakfast at Sole Hotel We sat outside on the balcony, which was lovely -- such a beautiful, hot Miami morning . Our hostess was very sweet, though once our food arrived, we didn't receive much additional service. What We Ordered: Avocado Toast: Gorgeous presentation, but there was a bit too much onion for my taste -- that was all I could really taste. Eggs Your Way with a Side Pancake: The scrambled eggs were fluffy and delicious! The potatoes were okay -- a little over-seasoned and I wish they had been served hotter. The bacon was perfectly cooked, and the two slices of toast came with a beautiful assortment of butter and jams. Pancake: Light, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweetness -- I loved the subtle hint of cinnamon. Didn't even need much syrup! Drinks: We had regular coffee and an iced caramel latte. The coffee was average (my abuela enjoyed hers), but the iced coffee wasn't my favorite. Overall, this was a beautiful spot for breakfast with great atmosphere and some stand-out items -- especially the eggs and pancake.

Yelp
I recently dined at Baleen Kitchen and I was quite disappointed. While the ambiance was lovely, the food did not live up to expectations, especially considering the steep prices. Dishes that sounded enticing on the menu fell flat in terms of flavor and presentation. We had the club sandwich 22$ with only 12 fries. 2 mini tacos for 22$. 2 side of bacon, 1 bagel, coffee and parfait was 54$. I was charged 16$ for Baileys in my coffee and 5$ for the coffee. The drinks barely had alcohol in them. It felt like I was paying a premium for something that simply wasn't worth it. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Baleen, unless you don't want to leave the resort. If you're looking for value or a delightful dining experience go somewhere else.

Yelp
The food is always pretty delicious but a bit pricey for what you get. This time around service was very slow even though the restaurant was not very busy. I always enjoy eating outside on the balcony overlooking the ocean/beach & the pool.
google avatar

Kelin X.

Yelp
Nice views and upscale. Service was excellent but the food took forever to come (40 mins for the pizza and 20 mins for the cheese board and salad). We went there on a Sunday afternoon. Maybe they were short staffed on that day.. Food was good and will go back just for the view

Yelp
Baleen kitchen is a great location to dine, different dishes to choose from earth to sea food it's to die for. It is a must have... try it out and let me know what you think. Service is great Daniel and the rest of the team are stellar. Music is just right it create a great ambiance to enjoy the rest of the night.

Yelp
What a beautiful restaurant and view. The serve was attentive and so nice! The food was delicious and well priced.

Yelp
This restaurant has a Beautiful ocean view! The seats are precinct! The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable! I ordered the grouper fish with cauliflower risotto with asparagus! It was prepared very nicely! It was tasty and high quality! My favorite part of the meal was the tea service! The quality of the tea was superb! The temperature of the water was precise. It was served in a beautiful teapot! The presentation was really nice ! I was impressed!

Yelp
Came for lunch & hosted a private Sip & Shake Class and it was amazing!! David was the host of the sip & Shake class and you can tell he loves loves loves hosting these classes and his passion is mixology! He helped everyone throughout the whole class and was very hands on and answered everyone's questions! He had some awesome tools and items I've never heard about and everyone loved it! Lunch menu is different than dinner and everyone loved the options! We had a wonderful lunch and really enjoyed it!! Tony was our waiter and he was so friendly, on top of everything and really took great care of us!

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Loved everything about Baleen kitchen! The service, the ambience, the view, and sea bass special was delicious! And highly recommend the key lime pie! The best kept secret!!

Amber N.

Yelp
Made an 11 AM reservation for outdoor seating and entered my card info to hold it. When I arrived, they said no outdoor seating was available and ignored the reservation. We were moved outside only after nearly finishing our food, then didn't see our server for 30+ minutes--even though it wasn't busy. Food and view were great, but service was really disappointing, and we were still charged a 20% auto-gratuity.
google avatar

Kristy M.

Yelp
Our server Daniel was amazing! I went there for date night and he made us feel so special. My partner and I absolutely love Espresso Martinis, so Daniel gave us a S'mores themed Espresso Martini. His recommendations were spot on, the sea bass is a must! Beautiful views of the ocean as well.

Pierre S.

Yelp
good service by Daniel but food was warm not hot. When you eat steaks it has to be hot! even the sauces were cold! Very deceiving! And it is not because there was a crowd!

Pamela P.

Yelp
Baleen is a beautiful restaurant with warm and inviting colors and decor. Daniel, our server, was wonderful and guided us through the menu and our meal. The menu choices were tantalizing. Everyone at our table of eight enjoyed their meals immensely! So much, we ate there twice during our stay! We definitely will be at Balee again!

Olivia P.

Yelp
The service was impeccable. We had a great waitress named Hanna who was so kind to us for our anniversary. The food blew us out of the water. The herb chicken was to die for, as was the shrimp linguine with carbonara. Not to mention, the ambiance. We were in a toss up between the beautiful indoor lounge or the gorgeous ocean view. Luckily, Hanna let us have both when the wind picked up outside. If I could give them 6/5 stars I would!

Yelp
We stayed at Sole and this is the restaurant attached to it. The breakfast food was good, not overwhelming delicious though. I had the ranchero and oatmeal and my sis had eggs and toast with bacon. At night I had their seafood soup special which was AMAZING, and that's what I'm giving them points for. The lobster Mac and cheese is creamy, and their Buffalo wings delicious as well. The service is good. Super friendly staff, and easy to speak to. Great outside balcony with welcoming environment. It's gorgeous inside as well though.

Yelp
one of my favorite meals I had in sunny isles while on vacation. I truly still dream about those tuna tacos!! (Although they were SO tasty I will never get over how small they were.. literally 2 single bites for $14) the pictures online (mine included) does not prepare you for how small they are. The people at my table laughed. Pizza and salmon were also delicious. Waitress was nice and made great recommendations. Brought us bread to start off which I always appreciate and wow was that yummy too! View and evening was perfect and the seating area inside was also very cute and relaxing. Really a great experience overall besides the sizing/pricing. The only reason I am deducting a star

Joy H.

Yelp
A few notes: 1) under construction, so no real view... but failed to mention when we called!, 2) tiny menu, and overpriced, 3) when there are two tables in the entire place being used, you'd expect attentive service- alas. If the food had been delicious, the above would have been no big deal. The calamari... minimal sauce (spread on the bottom of the plate)... and minimal calamari. The pizzas were okay. Nothing memorable. The paella! Such high hopes for $43. It was on a regular size plate with 8-10 small mussels/clams, no shrimp, and one tiny piece of fish. Guys/Gals - when you've got an empty restaurant, limited menu, and no view - the food has to be spot on and enough to match the price, and the service has to be impeccable. In retrospect, we should have walked out after we saw the obstructed view and empty restaurant. Kind of pitiful.
google avatar

Waleed E.

Yelp
Came for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was great. The heuvos rancheros was one of the best I've ever had. I added some ghost pepper sauce which is provided on the table. Reasonable price 22$ definitely worth it. The green juice was 15$ and although it was tasty it was small and not worth the price. For dinner I had the skirt steak with yuca fries. It was very tender, perfectly cook steak. About 38$ which is to be expected for dinner in this area. If you are staying at the hotel and want a classy confinement place to eat, it's worth a try. Service is phenomenal. Ambiance is cool and comfortable.

Yelp
Another beautiful meal at this gorgeous place! Second time around with the same outstanding service and meal!!

Yelp
Omg...the VIEWS!! The views, the views..are just insane...gorgeous, crystal, clear, aqua heaven of the ever changing ocean....we LOVED it. This slice of heaven is located inside the sleek Sole hotel in Sunny Isles. Entrance to Baleen Kitchen is through the hotels foyer which is sleek, sexy, under stated and modern. You embark up a flight of impressive glass steps to enter the gorgeous setting mdecor of their restaurant..we sat outside on the patio area which looks down on their pretty pool area, mini private beach zone and then the stunning ocean and beach beyond. The service was fantastic, a lovely friendly lady served us the whole time.. she was friendly and attentive and the food came out perfectly timed between courses...a smooth transition, so maybe the previous complaints here on Yelp, were just an off day or a different staff member? Also if you dine here you can validate your valet parking for free!! So down to the food, we enjoyed all of it. We had the Miamo spice lunch offerings and my son and I decided to try as many dishes as possible to share. We had their starter salad, which was fresh and lovely, and their tacos..our mains we ordered were mahi mahi tacos..which we thought was strange to be served with tortilla chips as there is no sauce to dip with them, so a waste to add to the dish on our opinions. The fish in this dish needed a bit more seasoning. We also ordered the sandwich with the fries...and the fries..omg!! We also asked for a side of mayonnaise as we are European and love to dip fries in the stuff?..and she promptly brought out the cutest teeny, ween, mini unopened bottle of mayonnaise out! Very nice and super cute. Then the desserts..oh my! Wow.. key lime pie was on point, and the molten lava cake was also damned good although not so a lava because the inside although moist n delicious did not ooze out as lava cake should...but who cares? Each of these dishes had an amazing dulce caramel sauce... Divine.. A service charge of 20 per cent was added, so beware, bit we were so happy with everything they deserved it...

Yelp
Ate here 4 days in a row and never had an amazing meal. Paella was a 6/10. Pancakes were a 6/10. Service at breakfast was a 6/10. Bloody Mary was a 7/10. View is good. Halibut risotto was 8/10. Chilaquiles were 8.5/10.

Yelp
Great restaurant, loved the view and the staff are very welcoming Fish is very fish and cooked very well. Prices are a bit high though

Trey T.

Yelp
Subpar food at best . The prices are absolutely ridiculous. Sad that chain restaurants offer better steak . Excellent views but food is to be desired. . Guest at hotel and wanted to like the restaurant.

Yelp
Technically came here twice while staying at Sole, one time to dine in (for happy hour) and once for takeout. The first time, we were interested in a snack and also their $6 Moscow Mules. They do a great happy hour with $6 Mules and certain wines, and I believe some $6 cocktails, as well as half-off all appetizers. My friend is gluten-free and also vegetarian, so our only options were the parmesan fries or the charcuterie board (meat for me, cheese for her). We got the charcuterie board and it was very tasty. We had to flag someone over to take our orders before 7pm (happy hour is 5-7pm). After that, getting water refills was a bit of a struggle too. The second time, we wanted some dessert to bring to our room, and at first they said they had vanilla or chocolate gelato, and strawberry sorbet. The second staff person said it was "white" gelato, which I assumed meant vanilla. It ended up being some sort of white chocolate with raspberry gelato, which was delicious. From the time we sat down at the bar to place our order to the time we left was about 15 minutes though, which seemed lengthy ... it doesn't take THAT much time to put some gelato into containers, which is what we ended up receiving. Gratuity is added on to the bill, also, and is 18%.
google avatar

Myeshia P.

Yelp
If this restaurant tasted any better and had better options, they would have had ALL of my money because I was feeling super interested in doing the bare minimum. It just wasn't worth the price. But the atmosphere was beautiful and the servers were friendly.
google avatar

Anielkha E.

Yelp
I stayed at Solé Miami Resort and after the gym I wanted to grab something quick before heading to the beach. This restaurant is inside the resort and at the moment is casual outside-dinning by the pool (during lunch) due to covid but everything is TO GO boxes & they did NOT disappoint. Even their to-go FRIES stayed FRESH. Everything melts in your mouth. I will be back when they open for dinner once covid is over... because the INSIDE is definitely somewhere where I will have my birthday dinner at. It sets a good mood. The staff is attentive even with this Miami HEAT.
google avatar

Tonia R.

Yelp
This restaurant is such a hidden gem located inside of the Solé resort. We sat outside and it was delightful. Such a beautiful view of the ocean, while you eat. They bring complimentary cheesy bread & butter to Die for.. We ordered: Lobster Mac & Cheese, Fish n Chips, Skirt Steak & Shrimp Cesar Salad. ALL Highly recommended. The service was prompt. A little on pricer side but as expected. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I celebrated my elderly grandmother's birthday in the private room of Baleen Kitchen. Spectacular view. Great Italian buffet. Incredible service by Zakia, the hospitality director from Belgium. She made sure I was happy and had all that I needed on the day of my event. The event servers, Edwin and Joana, provided friendly service and quick to do whatever was needed. Thankful for Caren, coordinator, who helped me get all organized prior to the event. Granny was extremely happy. So gr for this place. I decided to also have my birthday here and definitely planning to have more events.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Went here for lunch and had the chicken cuban sandwich in my girlfriend had a burger which was delicious spectacular views. Back for dinner had a pepperoni pizza and a Caesar salad they brought us some bread which was delicious. Restaurant and lounge area is tastefully decorated with couches sofas and tables love this place. Service was fantastic. They had cute little chessboards and checkerboards to play while you're sitting in the lounge area

Jenny W.

Yelp
Great view! Attentive staff! Generous portions. We had the salmon platter which was delicious.

Yiss H.

Yelp
If it was possible to leave a Zero star, I would! The service horrible the order completely wrongly taken and when ask to redo it and make any return of extra items put on order with me ordering them I just got the worse customer service. Ok so over that right ? Wrong . The food was mediocre. I order the burger which was a tasteless bland burger, fries burnt and the Quesadilla was extremely dry and bland , ah also the Lava cake was ridiculously bad. As a guest at Sole Miami I will rather order delivery or go out for food ..
google avatar

Roberto S.

Yelp
I wasn't able to attend my besties Dirty 30's Birthday Party @solèmiam. Thanks to Audrey, Zakia and all Baleen team I was able to gift her breakfast in bed, balloons and a birthday card. Thank you for going above and beyond.

Eric B.

Yelp
We visit Sunny Isles at least four times a year and stay at Sole Miami resort. This restaurant is inside the resort. Breakfast here is convenient, but sometimes inconsistent. We've tried everything on the very nice breakfast menu and have had a terrific meal followed the next day by items we had to send back. My best advice - if you really don't like what you have been served (because it's cold, overcooked, etc) then speak with the manager. He's a stand up guy and does not want you to leave disappointed. The lunch menu is poolside. Quick, limited selection for when you just truly want to stay by the pool. Supper is the best experience. A wonderful menu - we have not had a bad supper experience. Service is top notch and you do have an outside balcony seating option this essentially beach front. Give BaleenKitchen a try...
google avatar

Tyrone F.

Yelp
Today was a good day Let me tell you about it... We wanted breakfast so we came to conquer And BALEEN was on the menu First off this place is clean and everyone is very attentive The food was great the liquor was on point The waiter was really nice and never had to ask for a refill he was automatic Over I definitely recommend this place The mimosas had me feeling really good -the food Warrior
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Foood was delicious, service was amazing, brunch was great with delicious bloodys and tasty mimosas. Fifth star held back due to pigeons on the balcony walking all over the silverware of unknowing future customers.... but everything else especially our server Fiorella who was just wonderful and fantastic! Thank you Fiorella, and everyone else involved!
google avatar

Oscar P.

Yelp
Baleen's vibe is a high-end lounge on the waterfront of Sunny Isles Beach, located inside the Solé resort. The taste and presentation of the food is also great. Orders at table included the lobster Mac n' cheese, oysters, and mahi mahi prepared in two different styles. The "starter" bread is fantastic and of the entrees I recommend the regular mahi with sauce on the side. You get that nice grilled taste. The service, while friendly, is quite slow and disorganized. That's really what keeps this from being 5-stars. During a weekend stay this was confirmed by 3 visits to the venue at different times of day: breakfast, dinner, and nightcap drinks. They do however do a nice job at recognizing special events such as birthdays and anniversaries.
google avatar

Kimmi S.

Yelp
Fish tacos were pretty good not alot of meat though. Corn on the cob was tasty but it comes with shaved parmesan instead of grated...not a good choice it was had to eat like that MeLisa our waitress was very nice
google avatar

Jay N.

Yelp
Water forgets what to bring, would leave a check at the table... stays until you pay and leave a tip. Good food overall but want more service

Emily S.

Yelp
The food here was great. Loved my steak it was cooked perfectly. The prices weren't too bad. My party also got the lava cake and absolutely loved it. Really loved our waiter. He was funny and very attentive. We were also not rushed and given time to really sit, relax and eat our food. We sat inside and had a view of the water and it was gorgeous. I loved the decor in this restaurant the chairs and light fixtures were very pretty. Definitely recommend for a more upscale dinner.
google avatar

Katerina C.

Yelp
We were very pleased! Good prices, menu, food, service, view from windows and interior of restaurant. We had calamari, fish and chips, mahi-mahi taco, kids cheese pizza - everything was great.
google avatar

Raghda A.

Yelp
I would like to thank the manager of the hotel Kathreen for the free breakfast very very nice view and delicious food
google avatar

Ivan H.

Yelp
Came here with my friends Johanna and Gustavo to celebrate Mother's Day for their special brunch and what an amazing spread we thoroughly enjoyed. Raw oysters, stone crabs, snow crab legs, short ribs, shrimp cocktail...so many choices that will leave you wanting more and more. This is the highlight of Sunny Isles with so many traveling from Miami Beach to Aventura...I can't believe it took me so long to come here. The gem of this whole place was manager Zakia...she offered such service I haven't seen in Miami in a very long time. Will be coming back for dinner on another evening. A must visit on Sundays for brunch ($55 adults $35 children)
google avatar

Albert K.

Yelp
Views are sick; food is overpriced; service subpar VIews alone are amazing; get those cameras and posts to Ig ready Food - pfft Itty bitty portions for parrots, flavor nothing to write home about Service Forgot our entree orders..waited over 45min, spoke to several waiters and managers and all they could muster was "it's coming, sorry there was a mishap in the kitchen" Bill- Messed up our bill 4 times. Finally had to consult manager inside, who said she would fix it, messed it up again, and finally got it. Ended up giving us 20% off but it was an annoying experience.. If the food was actually good, it would be 3 stars but it wasn't
google avatar

Brittany W.

Yelp
I was not impressed with my experience here today. A friend and I (and my freeloading son) came here for a Miami Spice lunch. I am more than positive that I will probably not come back again. The valet parking area here is very tight. To get to the hotel level, you have to ascend up a very narrow driveway. The valet gentlemen were very nice and attentive. I love their automated valet system. They send you a text with your valet number ticket and when you're ready, you can request your car. Some of you may already know about this upgrade. I on the other hand don't valet unless it's cheap or complimentary. Anywho once you walk into the lobby of the hotel, the restaurant is just one flight of stairs up. Once I got up there, no one was at the hostess desk, so we had to wait a few minutes for some assistance. Someone (probably a manager; based on dress) finally came to the counter and informed us that we could sit wherever we like as we practically had the restaurant to ourselves. We opted to sit outside since it was a beautiful day and a nice breeze. The view was beautiful. It was ocean view and there was music playing at the pool on the floor below us. The food was delicious. Forgive me as I forgot to take a picture of everything. However our waitress took forever to bring us every item that by the time, I got my food all I could focus on was eating. For the appetizer, I got the Caribbean conch chowder. I can't say that it was much conch in it. There was a different type of meat in it. It certainly was not conch. The conch was very much minimal. It was also a tomato based sauce. It wasn't bad (the sauce) just different. For the entrée I had the Cuban chicken sandwich. Now this was really good. The bread was soft and buttery. The chicken was seasoned to perfection. The prosciutto I didn't really taste much of but the ham was plentiful. And the fries was really good. I really wish I would have gotten a picture of it. I usually do not like Key Lime Pie but this one was divine. I am happy that my mother was not in town because I would have saved it for her and never tried. Now the reason for the 3 stars is the lack of service. As I stated before, aside from a party of about 5 we were technically the only people there. Yet our entire time there was a little over 2 hours. Not because we were talking, laughing and catching up but because every time she left our table she'd disappear for about 30-40 minutes. When it was time for our dessert, we were afraid to ask for a box and the check in fear that that would be another 30-40 minutes ordeal. And to top it off, they automatically add a 20% gratuity charge to the check. Sometimes I feel like in some atmospheres, waitresses and waiters take advantage of that because they know regardless of their service, they are still getting a tip. And our waitress, Farella or what have you, certainly would not have gotten a tip if it were left up to me. Great service should be tip, not just service period.

Yelp
A little slow with the service and it wasn't that busy, the prices were fairly high, we had breakfast and the food was good.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful. Coastal vibes all over. Food and service were good, but a bit too slow for a place that wasn't even busy. However I would go there again. I only did breakfast so I can tell you they have a good selection like other restaurants. You should see their pancakes! They are huge and can be shared. But other meals cannot be shared. Prices are not too bad, but not cheap either.

Yelp
Staying at the "resort" this is located in. We were running short on time and decided to have lunch here.. We didn't get greeted for 20 min and it took 30min to get waters. Me and my friends ordered quesadillas... after 30 minutes we got our food. Remarkably, my was burned but somehow cold. They clearly disregarded my plate and didn't even think to fix it. The pics will show my quesadilla vs. my friends. We tried to speak to the manager, and asked several times. The manager never came to speak with us. another server did. He and one of the food runner were more helpful and present than our server.

Yelp
The restaurant is pretty and a good view of the water. I ordered the $60 filet medium and it was well done. Carrots had no seasoning. Server was average.
