Balkh Restaurant

A very highly recommended restaurant in London I enjoyed my meal in this place on my trip to London - The meal quality was satisfactory and I was overall happy with it however, the plate sizes were small and not presentable. I also found that the meal sizes in this restaurant were relatively smaller compared to other similar places. - The customer service was great and the food was served very efficiently without any unnecessary delay. The tea and the afghani sweet were also amazing. - The atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming with a beautiful decoration which was a mixed of traditional and modern designs Overall, I enjoyed visiting this place Keep it up mates

I've eaten here and ordered delivery on previous occasions and it's been great every time. However today I ordered chapli kebabs with extra nan via Deliveroo. What a disappointment! The kebabs were definitely not freshly made, and tasted awful. We didn't manage to finish them, instead enjoyed our home made daal with the nan. Still have a full kebab left over. The chapli kebabs previously ordered were on point so I don't know what's happened.

I thought this was a nice local gem in Harrow. They serve mainly afghan cuisine although some items on the menu were an Asian fusion. I stuck to ordering the afghan food and really enjoyed it. From a price point, I thought it was pretty decent compared to other similar places. The Qabuli pilau was nice but I would reccomend the chicken dish in the pic as it was really nice. I also got the chicken shish which was really nice. The tea they serve at the end was lovely too 👍🏼 Service was good 👍🏼 and we were seated quickly. The downside is parking can be a little tricky to find off Kenton Lane but after 7pm things die down and found some off the main road.

Overall, the dining experience was pleasant. While I've tasted more authentic Afghani cuisine elsewhere, it's evident that this restaurant caters to a diverse clientele, reflected in its menu and spice choices. The meat was slightly tough, but the wings and curry were delightful. Service, however, was lacking, requiring multiple requests for the bill and a lengthy wait to settle the payment.

Overall, can be considered a decent Afghani cuisine, especially considering that we haven’t got many of them in London. The atmosphere was not special, something ordinary to see in any restaurant in that area, but the food was generally good. The portions were large and good value for money. We tried 4 of their dishes. The seasoning and marination of meat was not optimal though. I would recommend: Baba ganouch and beiruty hommos (starter) Chapli kebab (a bit spicier than I expected but very tasty) Qabili Palow (slightly greasy, but tasty and good blend of spices and tender lamb) I wouldn’t recommend: Lamb chops (not well seasoned, almost burnt) Lamb curry (not tasty and not using quality lamb)

The food was delicious, especially the lamb shank - tender, juicy and flavoursome! Omid was our server today and he went above and beyond to make us feel at home - literally telling me 'this is your home'. Would definitely recommend, not sure which is better, the food or the service!

We had a running club dinner event for 30 people hosted a Balkh, They provided us with a very personal service from arranging a pre ordered menu, room arrangements and personal service on hand during the evening. A special thanks to Farhad and team for a very memorable evening

It’s more Lebanese than afghani. I gave them two stars because I like their Quabli and lamb kebab. Chapli kebab is just like onion baji completely tasteless. Rest of the menu has verity of Lebanese cuisine. It better to change it to Lebanese.
