Best Restaurants in London Marginal Seat Harrow East | Eater London

"On the lower half of Kenton Road, this Afghan restaurant has quickly established itself as one of the best places in the area for grills and karahis. Depending on how big the canvassing group it’s possible to pre-order a mixed grill (3-4), a lamb shoulder (5-6), a lamb leg (6-7) or the whole beast. (15+)." - Jonathan Nunn

I am visiting Balkh Restaurant since last almost 10 years now. I visited last night with my family and it was same high standard of food and very nice atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and supportive, especially Fareed Bhai was wonderful, running around the restaurant to make things happen on time and perfectly. Truly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. My family loved each and everything. I would recommend to visit Balkh once and you will be addicted with the food and the restaurant.

The food was below average. Qabili palow and lamb skewers were good. Chapli kebab was below average and mantoo was just OK. The service was never attentive at all. And also I found it very weird this awkward silence cause there was no music at all

I am speechless. This restaurant really is a gem in Kenton. I have been to many Indian and Pakistani restaurants but never have I tasted a 5 star menu along with 5 star presentation and 5 star service in a setting that is 5 star with an unbelievable interior and decor. The Mehmaan Nawazi (Hospitality) is truly commendable from my Afghani brothers. The kitchen and chef I requested to meet were humble and professional. I don’t have enough words to describe the fusion of food and tradition mixed with a modern feel yet in a western location. And the prices? For the portions? You would be hard pressed to find that in other desi type restaurants. Excellent place all round.

Had dinner at Balkh Restaurant in Kenton and it was amazing! The food is some of the best Afghan food I’ve ever had – fresh, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The kebabs, rice and naan were all outstanding. Staff were brilliant, so friendly and welcoming, and really made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Afghan food in London.

Excellent Afghan food. Extremely nice service. All the foods are tasty and we have tried a few but personal favourites are: lamb karahi and/or bara. I even love their fries, salad and naan bread. Very friendly and we are regular visitors! The meat is always very tasty and portions are very large so it fills you up. Every time we have so much food and we take away the left overs! Clean cutlery. Nice and comfortable seats. Parking around the corner free in the evenings! Definitely recommend!

A very highly recommended restaurant in London I enjoyed my meal in this place on my trip to London - The meal quality was satisfactory and I was overall happy with it however, the plate sizes were small and not presentable. I also found that the meal sizes in this restaurant were relatively smaller compared to other similar places. - The customer service was great and the food was served very efficiently without any unnecessary delay. The tea and the afghani sweet were also amazing. - The atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming with a beautiful decoration which was a mixed of traditional and modern designs Overall, I enjoyed visiting this place Keep it up mates

Overall the food was fine but the chapli kebabs have no taste or spices at all. We have to wait more than 20 mins to be served as no one was available to take the order. Good environment overall
