The oysters looked very small but they tasted so good! I ordered one more dozen! Not in the picture but the beet salad was super fresh and tasty, the clam chowder was really good. The ribs were perfectly cooked and not too sweet!!! Our server, Athena, was very attentive and kind. And they have Austin Hope for red wine in their wine selection. That was impressive! Overall experience was very pleasant and the food was delicious.

If you come here between 5-7pm they have fresh oyster/dollar. I feel it’s such a steal coming from LA, California. Salad was fresh too.

Google
Steak portions were small for the price, and the pasta was underflavored and left mostly untouched. Soups and salad were excellent, and drinks were tasty but served in tiny glasses. Overall, not worth the cost.

Had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant which have a cozy atmosphere and a well curated menu. The beet salad I had, came with a creamy yet light dressing (I think it was yogurt-based) was fresh and delicious. They had a good selection of IPAs that was also a huge plus for me. The standout, however, was the exceptional service provided by Peter. His attentiveness and willingness to go the extra mile made our visit so memorable. I will definitely be returning the next time I visit the area, even just to see Peter again. Thank you.

Google
A bold waiter started rushing us when we wanted to order drinks. He only gave us water because he left quickly when we wanted to order something else. We were ready to order food, and when each member of our table told him their order, he began aggressively taking the menus from our hands and snatched the cutlery from one of our table members. I'm honest, I've never received such poor service in this country. Please don't ever visit this place unless they remove this guy from their team.

I recently dined here while staying at Marlow Hotel. Visited couple of times for Breakfast and dineer. The ambiance is chic and modern, with a cozy. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the staff was good. Overall, Bambara experience was good.

Google
Kimpton hotel restaurant with great atmosphere and high quality food. Got a takeout of their dry aged burger and fried calamari. The presentation of the dry aged burger was unassuming, yet it was very good. Although the ingredients were very basic, the veggies were fresh and the dry aged meat patty was on point. Fried calamari was also nicely seasoned with pepper and jalapeños. The portions were definitely small for the price as expected from a hotel restaurant. Nevertheless, I still really enjoyed everything I ordered.

Fantastic meals and services. I highly recommend this place if you’re in Cambridge. It is accessible to the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel. Cannot go wrong with those two in one.

Yelp
My first time staying at a Kimpton property; the Bambara is connected to the Kimpton Marlowe. For the $30 hotel daily amenity fee, you have a $10 credit at Bambara, among other cool perks. We had dinner and breakfast at Bambara. The burger and fries is $28 and the lobster roll is $44. The two egg breakfast with bread and home fries is $19. Coffee and tea are $4 each. Tres leches is $12. The prices are on the high side with moderate portions, but so are most restaurants these days. Service was very good at dinner- warm friendly and efficient. At breakfast, there was no place to put the tea bag which would have been helpful, but service was otherwise fine and the breakfast was very good. The dinner was also overwhelmingly very good. The hamburger was juicy and the Caesar salad side (upgraded at no charge) was good with homemade honey dressing I asked for, which was excellent. My mother, a lobster expert at this point, had the lobster on hot buttered roll. She found it over buttered and said the butter overwhelmed the lobster, which was a small portion. Her homemade coleslaw and thick cut fries, which I tried, were excellent. The tres leches was different than the three milk drenched wonders I have had. This one had pieces of pineapple on top and was on the dry side. They have $1 oysters at happy hour from 5-7 p.m. which were small but very good. It was overall a very good (4 star) experience and I know Bambara has the potential for five stars.

Yelp
Andres, our server, was lovely! I haven't met him before--he's kind, welcoming, and genuine. Hoping he stays with the team as I'd love to dine in his section next time, too. I am consistently impressed with this restaurant located inside the Kimpton Marlowe. Chef Adam has created a solid, yet deliciously creative dining program over the years. I couldn't be happier to see him at the helm of this ship. He is unassuming, friendly, and delivers mouth-watering, globally inspired dishes. This trip, we enjoyed his plant based pasta special (an off menu creation with veggies, fungi, herbs of the moment). This one was my all time favorites... mixed textures, savory with some salty brine... yum! Don't miss the new hummus app! The roasted chickpeas, pickled red onions, red sauce and spices served with crispy grilled flatbread/pita. Delish! Staff was making rounds on the floor and we appreciated being checked on and conversing with familiar faces. Thanks again for a fantastic night Bambara team!

Yelp
Came here for a company outing and the food was amazing! I typically don't go for steaks, but theirs was wonderful, moist and full of flavor. I also enjoyed their chicken dish, I don't think I've ever had a chicken cooked so well and not dry! Even though I really loved their food, I had to knock it down a star because it felt like an eternity before we finally got to eat after ordering. I'm not sure if this was because we were a large party, but as soon as the food came, I ate it up very quickly. Overall, this is a great nice restaurant by the river, and I can see how it'd be a nice after work activity!

Yelp
Inside the Kimpton Marlowe hotel, Bambara is quite a find. Full service bar with great entrees and service. They do get busy at prime time so definitely make a reservation.

Yelp
Stopped in a whim with a friend a few weeks ago. We sat at the high tops and were served by a sweet, knowledgeable bartender. We started with a dozen $1 oysters which were super fresh. My friend asked the bartender to come up with a fun tequila cocktail for us. Not only was he up for the challenge but delivered! We also tried the arancini, calamari and hummus. Everything was really delicious. It's a beautiful space, great ambiance. We'll definitely be back soon.

Yelp
This restaurant is located adjacent to the lobby of the Kimpton Marlow Hotel. When staying at the Marlow this makes for a very convenient place to grab dinner or drinks and appetizers. From 5-7pm they had a happy hour on Wellfleet MA oysters basically buy one get one. We ended up getting 12 oysters for the price of 6 which was only $18. Also the oysters were superb. I grabbed a quick to go dinner tonight. It was very simple. I ordered at the bar and charged it to the room. I went upstairs to change and the food was ready. Shout out to Chef Adam he is making great food for dinner down there. Check out the wings and burger if that's your jam.

Yelp
I'm struggling with the rating for this spot. The food was really tasty. We had the beet salad, burger (loved it), and fusilli bolognese (crispy topping took this one up a notch). The service and pace is the issue. We waited to be seated for a reservation for quite some time even though there were tables. The guy in front of us was just trying to confirm his reservation and he had to interact with 3 different people to get that done. Once we were sat, we ordered after a bit. The salad came out within 10-15 minutes and then we waited, and waited, and waited... over an hour for our remaining two items. We could see other tables we're getting food but the orders didn't seem correct and they looked frustrated. To add to the stress, it's marathon Sunday so folks are trying to eat and get to bed. It was also frustrating because it took forever to hear anything about where our food was--no refills on water glasses sitting empty. Nothing to help appease in the meantime. I know things go wrong sometimes and we're pretty understanding. It's a lovely space as well--pretty lighting, a bit noisy, friendly bartender. I would definitely go back, I just would be prepared to wait next time.

Yelp
TLTR by the end of dinner I had one disappointing arancini and a bit of pita and hummus which cost $55+ tax and took well over an hour so we missed our actual plans. The best thing about the experience was the food runner. Super nice and honestly would easily make a better server just on service and attitude. Food was ok, nothing to really write home about. Service (outside of the busser) was bad... our server brought over the regular menus and when we noted we wanted the dine out boston, she kind of huffed and walked away (she was probably hoping that we would run up our check otherwise... little did she know we were both servers at some point and tip generous even for average service)... Throughout the night she would walk over to one table, then walk away, sometimes go back to that table or the next and then walk away so everything took ALOT longer. No trying to see what other tables were doing making, eye contact, whatever. It's pretty obvious she was never taught about table touches and the manager was too busy watching tv to notice that we were not having a good experience or the 6 top next to us with multiple kids were waiting to the point you could clearly see the kids were over how long they were there; meanwhile they still had their menus infront of them. When she came back we already had decided what we wanted from looking online and gave her our order right away. Our apps were dropped and she never checked on us... if she had we would have asked for more pita points.the amount they give you compared to the amount of hummus is embarrassing.... And we still needed more even though I completely avoided the harissa which was most of it. The pesto arancini sound much better than the actual execution (never had it before so don't have an example to compare it against) At some point they changed the pasta option from a red sauce to a spinach... and she never mentioned that... our food gets dropped and by the time my so was just about finished, she came over and I asked if there was spinach. Turns out it was yes and my SO ordered the steak as I always encourage her to as there are 2 things that kick up my kidney stones- spinach and red meat... They offered to remake it, which would have been great if it was 20+ minutes earlier when I took my first bite. They didn't offer anything else and the service got even worse. When we asked for our desert TO GO, she walked away and brought over the menus even though it was done out and there was one desert. At the same time I asked for the check which should have been a dead give away we were in a bit of a hurry (because of the amazingly slow and poor service). After she dropped the check (honestly it could have been before) she stood at the pos and closed out checks. I parked behind the sonesta and after the server dropped the check, I said let's divide and conquer. You take care of the check and I'll bring the food which I didn't eat and the desserts over to the car. Well the server decided that now was a good time to eat and my SO waited and then walked over to the bar... the manager apparently dodn't take notice that she walked to the bar from the dining room even though she was standing next to him. Eventually the server saw her, came over, apparently had a "how dare you interrupt my sandwich" and ran the check. I had walked across land blvd 2x in the pouring rain, but the food in my car and back to the restaurant by the time she had paid... We were supposed to see the Pink Floyd laser show as that is what our plans were and decided to add dinner before. I would have been happier staying at home and just going to the MoS show instead of missing it for ok food and bad service.

Yelp
We went here for brunch on a Saturday. Their brunch menu has tons of options especially if you are vegetarian. I go to brunch places a lot and always wonder why they don't have a Veggie Hash option. This place had Veggie Hash and it was so delicious. I finished it all. One issue I had was that the coffee was warm and not hot!!! I got two refills and I was disappointed with the coffee not being hot especially when it was a cold rainy morning. Service though was phenomenal.

Yelp
We were looking for a breakfast place early Saturday morning. We arrived right when it opened so we got a nice table by the window. Our waitress was very nice and took our order. I asked for recommendations on the French toast. She said it was a favorite and very good. I ordered the French toast and my wife ordered an omelet. Both were really good and hit the spot. Great taste. So, good food. Food service. Nice view. Clean restaurant. What else could you ask for. I recommend this place.

Yelp
Service was really fab at the bar and I think the wings are actually dope. The $1 happy hour oysters are so yum, but shucked a bit choppily. But in terms of the price point, it's up there I guess cause of the hotel but it's a good place to snack. I would come back all over again!

Yelp
Went to Boston for a weekend and wanted a low key dinner with my husband! We were totally happy with this place. The ambiance was so nice from before you even walked in. The walls were used as bookshelves and I thought that was so cool. The food was great too! I opted for the chicken parm and my husband got a burger. Staff was also friendly and attentive. Food was great! 10/10
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in to have dinner, and was amazed by the burger and fries! The burger was super juicy and cooked just perfectly. The veggies and pickles on the sandwich was fresh and crispy. The bun, held everything well together. BUT, I would have liked it to be a bit bigger in size... I like to eat, and when something tastes soooo good, I need more of it! The fries were super delicious! Hand cut, thick slices, fried to perfection, seasoned with right amount of salt. Crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside. Sooooo good! Only gripe is the menu is limited and small. Would have loved to see more items as the burger was delicious.

Yelp
Service is great. Bar staff is top notch. But $28 for a burger??? I saw it. It was a burger. I ate elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
A great brunch restaurant super conveniently located near the Museum of Science! The prices are extremely low, and the quality is extraordinary. Some of the crispiest breakfast potatoes in Boston! A beautiful location too (in the same building as hotel), this restaurant is a must try.

Yelp
Efficient | portions | call system Efficient - I ordered breakfast and dinner from bombara. Both were super efficient once I talked with the waitress. They have a good menu online via their website and Google. It took about 20 minutes for my food to be ready once I made my order. Portions - given where you are located and the price point, you get a lot of value with their meals. I had the French toast and breakfast potatoes for breakfast and the chicken Marsala and a side of fries for dinner. I was more than full. Also I need to shoutout their potatoes. They are delicious. I'm not sure if it's the cut or how they are seasoned, but their fires and breakfast potatoes were the highlights of the meal. Definitely top 10 (maybe top 7) all time potatoes for me. Call system - I called the number via Google and their website. Each time I called I got the voicemail after 3-4 rings. I had to call the hotel's front desk and then ask for a transfer for the restaurant and then they answered. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or standard practice. But it was somewhat annoying. Pro tip - if you stay at Kimpton Marlowe, you can have all your meals charged to your room. Pro tip - if you stay at the Kimpton Marlowe You can call down and order and they will call you back when your food is ready. Pro tip - there is not a lot of parking around there. So I would Uber or walk if you ar going for dinner.

Yelp
Had dinner near Harvard and then came back to the hotel and had this delicious night cap!

Yelp
Oysters Pasta Service is inconsistent but seems way understaffed which is not the fault of the servers. Got breakfast to go twice and the avocado toast is amazing with fresh ricotta and banana bread amaz

Yelp
(Last visited 4/1/2021.) Working in Boston for the week and I'm staying at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel right on Edwin H. Land Blvd. Inside this hotel is Bambara, a fantastic restaurant... Let me explain... Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right inside the hotel is this gem right off of the main lobby. It's in the shape of an "L" and wraps around the back of the hotel. The kitchen is exposed, there's plenty of big windows letting in lots of natural light and the restaurant gives off a very elegant-modern feel. It's usually pretty quiet inside. Service: I've never actually eaten inside the restaurant, but I've gone in to pick up my food then take it to my room multiple times. Yvelisse or Kellie are usually who I see when I go there (been there 4 times) and they've both been very friendly as well as super helpful. Food: I wasn't even going to do a review on this place but then I had the short-rib. OMG. The gospel of this incredible short-rib needs to be spread around the globe. Lol. It was so succulent, savory, smoky and practically perfect. I also was able to try their burrata and roasted carrots. Funny thing is... none of those things are on the menu anymore. Lol. The menu changes periodically and you can't go wrong. On my next visit I had the grilled salmon over rice with grilled asparagus and that too was fantastic. It was cooked perfectly, smothered in what looked like a pesto sauce of sorts, I don't know, the chefs just knew what they were doing. Again, no longer on the menu, but I'm sure it'll make a comeback! Last, but not least... the WWWIIINNNGGGSSS! These ARE still on the menu! They're lightly breaded with a teriyaki glaze and topped with some sesame seeds. These were fantastic and something I will repeatedly get. Value: Burrata = $12.00 Short Rib = $26.00 Roasted Carrots = $8.00 Grilled Salmon = $26.00 Chicken Wings = $12.00 Asparagus = $8.00 Not cheap here by any means, but this ain't some cheap restaurant. The food is absolutely worth the price. In conclusion I loved this place and it fits the hotel perfectly. I'll be eating here a lot more in the future whenever I'm staying in Boston. Yelp
Came in on a Thursday night with a small group of coworkers. Champagne was yummy, oysters were pretty decent, and the entree was delicious. Our waiter was Chris and he was amazing!

Yelp
Was only here for drinks only. But the drinks were terrible. All Figured Out- the sweet and sour was well balanced but it was so bitter!! Maybe from the lemon rind ? Old fashion- terrible also. Tasteless and diluted. So sad. Service was good !

Charis P.

Yelp
Came in at 7:30 with a group and was served at 9:30. It was not busy at all, just people at the bar, so this was surprising. The pasta was so underwhelming - no sauce at all? It tasted like just noodles with butter, but even the butter was not salty. Had to add quite a lot of salt. It was still not good after the salt. My friend sent her fettuccine back because it was so bland. Won't return.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't be afraid to give Bambara a try. Great atmosphere and food. Enjoyed quick service from our server and the kitchen at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Our server seemed a bit inexperienced but attentive and eager to please. Very comfortable booths with pillows. Cozy lighting and elegant decor with hip ambient music. Started with the lobster sliders, first response from our 9-year-old, "Put me on a cloud because I'm in heaven.". From there on everything kept getting better. The cod with kalamata olives a very nice blending of flavors. The pan seared yellow fin tuna perfectly done. The kids' meals were just right. The deserts were the perfect ending.

Yelp
We tried to dine here for breakfast when staying at the Kimpton hotel. Unfortunately, they've decided to offer takeout only on several days of the week, so they lose some of the upsell opportunities and guest service contact points we are usually suckers for. While the food was hot and fresh, it felt a little awkward to be eating food from takeout containers in the bar area. If they'd have offered a sit-down dining experience, I'm sure we'd have spent more time and money here, because the staff was friendly and the food really tasty. However, the prices are the same for takeout/to go as for dine-in, but without the service Kimpton restaurants are renowned for. I am sure this is typical of late-pandemic breakfast service, but we couldn't help but be disappointed compared to Kimpton's usual high standards.

Michael S.

Yelp
Not special but not bad. Decent choice if near the mall but wouldn't go out of my way for it.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
This is a split review. One for breakfast and the other for dinner. Let me just put this out here first, SKIP the breakfast. It's way overpriced for the mediocre offering. I honestly felt like they hired the laziest chef and the staff just came off as if they were operating on the least amount of effort. I ordered the avocado toast which looked sad and sloppily made from the start. The bread was soggy with already browned avocado along with a few splotches of ricotta that only added to its lackluster. Now to dinner. It was only due to staying here that I was prompted into trying the dinner menu. It was like night vs. day. They must have a different chef that gives a damn about what they're cooking for the evening. We ordered the Pan-roasted chicken, grilled salmon, and grilled asparagus with beet salad. All of it was delicious and well seasoned! Couldn't have been more delicious and not to mention accommodating allowing us to take our drinks up the room while we waited to pick up the food. Breakfast - Absolutely avoid!!!! Dinner - Worth the wait!

Yelp
I really like the environment of this place. Service was okay not bad not too good. Appetizers were delicious especially the pork belly bun. Entrées mmmm not so much... fries were VERY salty and the pasta was a little too overcooked. I was hoping the food to be bomb when I saw the star ratings, but I was disappointed when the entrées were not. Overall, 7/10

Yelp
Oyster is good in quality and price (1 dollar each for happy hour), they also got good service.

Yelp
Had multiple meals here while staying at the kimpton. The butternut soup and chicken wings were both amazing, as was the French toast for brunch. Good cocktails in a nice space as well. Service is a little slow, but short staffing is the norm these days which I totally get.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Waited outside to be seated for nearly 10 minutes. We asked the guys outside if someone was working. Felt awkward so went inside to eat. Ordered drinks. Those also took a while but were tasty. I ordered the "house made fusilli". I'm posting a photo because I don't think it needs words. Ate a few bites and went to Cheesecake Factory to get the avocado rolls.
google avatar

Nelson R.

Yelp
We got out of work and wanted to skip some traffic so we stayed in the city and came across this place. The setting was very nice and cozy and intimate. Our server was very attentive and friendly which we appreciated. For starters we had the butternut squash soup and my wife had the fried calamari which both were fantastic. For entrees I had the cider porkchop cooked medium which was ok and my wife had the salmon with cous cous which was extremely salty. Food was a bit overpriced as the flavors did not match what we were charged. We didn't notice this restaurant was connected to a hotel which would explain the prices for the plates. Even though the service wad good the was overpriced and probably won't be coming back.

Alison S.

Yelp
We came in tonight (Sunday night) around 730pm to have dinner. We had drinks and apps but our food never came. We left around 9pm hungry. A man with a short sleeved plaid shirt (manager?) rolled napkins while my wine sat at the bar but never made it to our table. The bartender tended to several other tables but never came by ours as we just... sat there waiting to see if our food had even been sent. It appears they need more servers/staff. Very disappointed as this was our last night if a great weekend in the Boston area. Im still hungry and waiting on a pickup order from cheesecake factory around the corner as I type this. Boo
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Had $20 credit from Kimpton stay, so we decided to pop in to gauge the breakfast. While the view and restaurant decor was nice and clean, the food experience was rather subpar. I ordered an eggs benedict, but 1) my eggs were slightly overcooked (not poached properly) and 2) (never seen this happen before) they forgot my hollandaise sauce. The replacement sauce also seemed a little odd. Not my favorite experience.

Mike W.

Yelp
Hopeful that this restaurant would be good but again I guess the Post COVID work mentality has taken its toll. Espresso martini with no espresso because the bartender didn't want to make it. The kitchen was visible which usually is a cool attribute but in the case the to go boxes and employee hangout gossip zone was more of an eye sore. Clean it up.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised to find such good food next to Cambridgeside Galleria. We ordered the salmon ceviche which was a good portion and a mix of all the right flavors including mango, jalapenos, avocado and cilantro. The chicken breast was very good with a good portion size. The pesto mushroom pasta was also very fresh and tasty - get the appetizer size so you can try other things. Pretty good portion even as an appetizer.

Morgaine D.

Yelp
The food was so delicious! Went here on a Friday night for dinner and we were a party of 2. The restaurant was a bit empty but our reservation was later in the night at 9. The chicken wings were so crispy and delicious. We shared the bolognese and they split it in two dishes for us very delicious and the sauce to pasta rato was perfect definitely needed more salt and pepper thought. Our server was this wonderful girl with amazing braids, she was so amazing and very helpful with picking things out on the menu to try. Definitely check it out if you want some good food for a cute date.

Yelp
Pork belly steam buns! Say what?! I said PORK BELLY STEAM BUNS!!! You, your mouth and belly with thank me later. My boyfriend and I stopped in for drinks and an appetizer before catching a show at the planetarium. We had just enough time. The apps were half price (I think between 5-7pm.) $2 each for this deliciousness?! So cheap to make my mouth so happy! Just do it folks! They arrived 2 on the plate. We each had one. The sauce... so tasty! The garnishment did not overpower the sauce. It was a little crispy but soft inside. The bun was s-o-f-t! It was the perfect combination and really hit the spot! My boyfriend liked it so much I gave him the last little nibble of mine. We had drinks. The bartender took it very seriously. His shook his shakers intently and made me a girly drink garnished with pretty dry flowers (which my boyfriend ended up inhaling which caused shock and me with wet jeans!) But he had some old fashions which he said he did a nice job. Made me think how were their meals?

Yelp
Go-to spot for nice work lunches. The food is delicious and the interior is nice; it's a bit pricey but perfect for a work meeting. My favorites are the grilled cheese and tomato soup, flatbread, and the seasonal salad with salmon plates. After your lunch, they give out complimentary cookies.

Yelp
Bambara On memorial drive, right near the science museum. The place here is sadly overlooked because it is in a hotel. The food is out of this world. From the bread that has some nutmeg in it or something to the house made pasta. The chef here really knows how to put ingredients I wouldn't think of together for a perfect bite. The margarita I had was made with grapefruit juice, so a little different, but tasty. The patio is shaded by the building so it stays cool for outdoor dining. I love going here. You should check it out. The pork buns pictured here were the star of this feast- GHOSTFATTY OUT!

Yelp
This restaurant had a great atmosphere. The lighting inside is great and the seating is comfortable. The food came out quick and was absolutely delicious. I got the gem salad and truly enjoyed it. Our server Peter Holmgren was great and checked in on us often. He made sure we had everything we needed to have a great dinner. For dessert I got the warm chocolate cake which was the perfect ending to a great dinner. If you are in the Cambridge area, it is a must to visit this delightful restaurant with great service.

Yelp
Nice hotel restaurant in an area without too many choices. Had lunch with the kids. Solid food. Checking on yelp and get a free dessert, which was a chocolate chip cookie today.

Yelp
My friends and I made a reservation here originally planning to do their dine-out menu, but when we actually got there and started comparing menu prices we found that it would be more cost-effective to just choose options from their regular menu. We ordered two apps to share in our group of 3 -- the brussel sprouts and the fried calamari. Both were very good, the calamari wasn't oily at all and the texture was very crispy. The brussel sprouts were so good that one of my friends was seriously considering ordering another dish of it. As for my entree, I ordered the bucatini. Unfortunately I wasn't very hungry when I came into the restaurant, so by the time I had finished my share of the two appetizers, I was too full to eat much of my entree. What i did have of it though i enjoyed. The braised short rib came with pasta, which I wasn't expecting. I enjoyed the pasta because I've never had some with texture like that one. Overall, it was a nice experience, the only minor complaint would be that the entrees took a while to come out.

Yelp
Hugely convenient for people who stay at the Kimpton Marlowe hotel! I had both dinner and breakfast here (thank heavens for their operating hours! so convenient) and enjoyed both meals thoroughly. For dinner, I made it to their 5-7pm happy hour, where bar apps are half price! Highly recommend the pork steam buns - such fatty and delicious pork!! I also enjoyed their half-size ricotta and goat cheese ravioli (the chestnuts were a bit tough to chew, and things were a tad saltier than I would have liked, but rest assured this half-size portion would probably be enough for you). The persimmon contessa drink was also exquisite. For breakfast, I had two scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough. I was not a huge fan of the eggs; ironically, they could have used more salt. But everything else was great! Best of all, they leave you with a pot of coffee to refill for yourself!!!! Yes!!!!! Service is incredibly good here as well! Definitely a fan.

Yelp
Down in Boston celebrating my 30th birthday and the service was awful. We waited 30 mins just for our drinks and finished our appetizer before we even got our drinks. We ordered our main meal and waited atleast 45 mins before getting that. Overpriced and lousy service. Do not come here

Yelp
My friend and I came into lunch recently, as we work nearby and had never been in. Unfortunately we weren't impressed with our experience. Service was laughable and food was only okay. We would not come back. My salmon and crab burger did not taste right, though I will say the fries were awesome. My friend ordered ice cream for dessert and it took the server almost 10 minutes to go ask what the flavors were, and he comes back, VANILLA AND PEANUT....how did that take 10 minutes?! Then he asked how many scoops she wanted. The price on the menu was $7....just give the amount that costs $7??....she said 1 scoop (which ended up being a teeny tiny scoop), and they charged $4? Where did they come up with that? If the price is a set price, just give what the person ordered lol....anywho.. They did give us cookies when we were paying which was nice, unfortunately it took forever to get the check, and once it was time to sign the check we were so over it, and definitely tipped accordingly. Bummed because we thought this could be a new lunch spot for us...not the case.

Yelp
Only came for a drink, but stayed for the thick cut fries, which were great. (Thanks as much to the Harissa Aioli as the fries themselves.) They had a live piano (keyboard) singer who was perfectly food, but given the size of the place, I could have done without the Friday entertainment. MAJOR marks for the bartender - somehow she (Amanda - she rocks!) managed to make an Old Fashioned taste like a candy store in heaven - it was traditional, but the 'juiciest' most refreshing OF I've ever had. It wasn't overly sweet - just rich, complex, and... yes - I'll have another.

Yelp
I went here for Valentines dinner. The atmosphere was really cozy and unique. There were book shelves and paintings lining the walls. For appetizers we had the gem lettuce salad and warm hummus platter. The gem lettuce salad was a Caesar salad but had delicious super crunchy croutons. The warm hummus platter was AMAZING one of the best hummus platters I have ever had. The pita had beautiful grill marks and was flavored with this unique zatar spice mix. This is a must have. For dinner I had the ricotta and goat cheese ravioli and Jack had the chicken breast. My ravioli were amazing they had large crispy pieces of save and this warm butter sauce. (The one downfall were the sliced chestnuts, when they were thin they were an amazing texture but some of them were not toasted enough and were this weird stick in your teeth texture like taffy). Overall it was really great! I would go back for sure.

Yelp
First and above all, I want to give a HUGH shout out to James, our server. He gets a 5 plus star rating for all his hard work, positive energy and attention to our group but sadly, and to no fault of his own, he was a victim of poor management. Went with a group of 8 for Sunday Brunch. Atmosphere, decor an cleanliness all superb but that wasn't enough to offset the cluster of errors and mistakes our group had to deal with. For the longest time, it appeared, James was the only server to manage many large groups in the restaurant and as I said, he was hustling and working hard. Four of us ordered items including sourdough bread and then we find out, they are out of sourdough!! Small detail, I know, but seriously, it's a Sunday brunch hour and one would think the kitchen would be well stocked. Several of us also ordered cocktails which came out after the food was served. And, our dishes all came out at various times with the last of the 8 ( ironically mine) coming with the wrong side item and the food was tasty but several us us had lukewarm food. But then things really went downhill. Being a yelper, I naturally checked in and was offered a free dessert for my first check in. The offer disappeared from my screen and James sent the manager over who stated "without seeing the offer on my phone" she couldn't authorize the free dessert. I pleaded to her common sense, showing her my phone where I checked in etc but she was firm in in answer. Several minutes later she informed me "I spoke to the chef and we can give you the dessert" ( not that the chef makes the decision but whatever, she tried to make it right I guess). And the final insult, was THEY CHARGED ME for the free dessert and put it on the bill which I then had to once again, have the manager make the adjustment. Unfortunately, this place has a great atmosphere and good potential but they definitely need to work on staffing, management and communication.

Yelp
Eh, not terrible, but weak in too many areas to consider again. Came here on Christmas with my family. I had the falafel but I knew to order another side because of the photos showing how little you get on Yelp, so I did. My only major complaint was that the portion size on the falafel dish was absurdly small, and it said it came with squash, but that was really more decorative than edible. The entire dish was barely enough for an appetizer for 1, let alone a meal for 1. Fries were listed as herb fries on menu, but were just regular fries. Other people in my party enjoyed the burger and the clam chowder. One person asked for a small side salad, but all that came, was plain lettuce with olive oil. No joke. Not a cucumber. Not a crouton. Service was provided by a reluctant, disinterested server, when we were the server's only customer, and the ONLY CUSTOMERS in the ENTIRE RESTAURANT. not sure what the hell is going on here, but never will return.
