Bamboo Garden Restaurant

Chicken and broccoli was tasty. Came with fried rice. The crab Rangoon was good. The vegetable spring rolls nice and crispy but the filling was flavorless.

Ordered Vegetable Mei Fun and it was bland with absolutely no flavor at all, asked for my chicken wings to be EXTRA Well Done and it got changed to “crispy” on the receipt and they were barely crispy, the egg rolls were mediocre and the spring rolls were crispy on the outside but the inside filling/vegetables were mushy and flavorless. 2/10

Food is fresh and comes out fast. Portions are fair and flavor is solid. Menu has a good mix of options. Place is clean and staff is respectful. Good spot for takeout or a quiet dine-in meal.

This review isn't not about the food simply because I never ordered, the customer service here is so bad it stopped me from ordering. There was no greeting upon entering, but then wants to rush me to order something. I'm very big on customer service and if the customer service isn't right I will eat nor shop at the establishment.

I didn’t eat there but have to say I’m proud of the staff. I was there behind the store for almost 24 hours making a delivery to Food Lion and the staff, rather than come out throwing a fit my big rig was back there. They came out and checked on me and made sure I was ok. Again thank you for making sure I was ok.

Very nice assortment of dishes. Great tasting food, large portions and nice price point. Sauces used are listed on menu to help you decide. Will be back.

I can only speak for the vegetarian options but I’ve loved everything I’ve ordered so far. Tofu with garlic sauce is great!

Waited for 25 mins for a carryout order, they were taking care of call in orders first instead of the people that were waiting. They need to have a cook for each , call in and walk in, ridiculous!!

I always choose Bamboo Garden for our Chinese take out. I have a place closer to me but Bamboo Garden is much better. We can make several meals out of two take out dinners. The food is always fresh and plentiful.

Overall not bad! I called to place a pick up order and I was told 5-10 minutes so I'm assuming the food is not made fresh to order. My expectations were low because of this. When we went in to pick it up, the staff were very friendly. It was extremely hot inside though and I would have hated to dine in but of course being it was to go, no problem. Overall everything was pretty decent. The kids lo mein was good and my son finished his plate. The broccoli was good but drenched in way too much sauce. The sesame chicken was drenched in way too much sauce as well and had more breading than meat, however the flavor was good. The rice was a bit bland but I added some sesame oil and it helped! The wonton soup was delicious. Again, everything was pretty decent and I can see it being a regular quick Chinese night.

Food is always fresh. The weekly specials, Garden Chicken & Pepper Chicken are always tasty and you can't beat the price at $5.99. Their Wings are nice and crunchy. Price is affordable. I always get the sauces on the side such as Honey Wing & Garlic Sauce. The pepper steak is another good one. I would prefer the beef to be cut into smaller pieces but it's no big deal. We eat here at least one or twice a week. Even though we live near several similar Chinese restaurants, this one is by far our favorite. We don't mind having to drive all the way to the other side of town to pick up our order.

It was alright, I ordered bourbon chicken & it wasn't the normal bourbon chicken. The Eggroll was really good tho. Service was pretty normal I suppose. I went around 19:45-20:15ish the interior didn't appear to be well lit.

The food was awesome! The service was fast and I will definitely be back! Everything tasted so fresh and homemade.

I am so glad my neighbors in Nextdoor talked about this place. It apparently is under new ownership, though I never ate here before today, him so glad I have finally found a good Chinese restaurant on this side of town. I typically have to go all the way to university when I want Chinese, I've been desperate for one close by. The food was amazing. So flavorful and the portions were well worth it. It may actually be a bad thing that this place is so close. I ordered crab Rangoon, chicken wings, house special fried rice, house special lo mein, beef and garlic sauce, and sesame chicken. I couldn't complain about anything if I wanted too. This is a hidden gem, but I promise you will enjoy it.

Ordered the Crab Rangoon and was very disappointed. Flavorless and full of grease. I stopped ordering from here years ago because the food quality went downhill. Definitely won't give them another chance.

Love Bamboo Garden. Food is consistently great and the people who work there are great too! We've placed several large orders here to feed a crowd and they always accept gladly and we get our food quickly!

Bamboo Garden has recently been sold and is now under new management. The food is good! It's nothing fancy, but for takeout it is definitely good. The lunch specials are cheap. If you live in this area, and are craving some takeout - Bamboo Garden is a good option. Staff is pretty friendly, there are some booths if you'd like to dine in. I like all their stir fry's and there Thai chicken. Really tasty.

I picked up take out. Singapore Noodles were great. Taste and portion generous. The plastic hanging and surrounding the cash register is a bit off putting. Service was great. Overall good experience.

Chicken on a stick is great. Bourbon chicken really good. I liked the sea food too. Fried rice wasn't very good. Chicken wings are good.

Their food slaps! They don't even have to advertise it! Customer service is always great every time I go in and the food is always good!

I have no rating on the ambiance as I only order takeout there and someone picks it up for me. The food is delicious and the service is average.

Much better than average strip mall restaurant. My wife asked that her dish was vegetarian not spicy. The cooked to her exact request. Nothing fancy, just great food quickly. We will be back and definitely getting take out.

I think we found our Chinese neighborhood spot! Friendly service paired paired with great food! We ordered the house fried rice, Singapore noodles, fried dumplings, egg rolls - all were delicious!

I visited Bamboo Garden after seeing a review on Nextdoor. After being disappointed with others in the area before, this was a very pleasant surprise. Every time I've had fried rice it is usually dry and sauce is necessary. Not at Bamboo Garden! The shrimp fried rice was not overly cooked and had moisture. I ordered enough food for the weekend and when I heated it up I did not have to add water to it like I usually do. The sesame chicken was not dry but had ample sauce and was tasty. I will gladly drive 16 minutes to try other menu items

Service was nice. Food was just ok. Nothing spectacular about the food. I can cross it off of my list. Done

If you want customer service do not come there. Do not try to order in restaurant because they will answer 5 calls before they even talk to you. Order was supposed to be done then they tacked on another 10 minutes because they take call orders first

We are so happy that we finally tried Bamboo Garden! Both of us are pescatarian and have tried 5 things on the menu so far in a short time. They have both Thai and Chinese recipes. I hadn't discovered a Thai restaurant in the immediate area yet- so I was pretty excited about this. We are very pleased with everything. The food is good and tastes fresh. Portions are generous. The restaurant is clean and well cared for. Service has been friendly. Takeout is even packaged carefully. All around great value. They offer so many protein options for their dinner combinations, so we have a lot of variety to choose from with our mostly vegetarian diet. They also did not hesitate to accommodate a substitution request we had. We are both especially pleased with their precautions being taken during this pandemic. I truly feel comfortable getting takeout from this restaurant as they appear to be taking this thing seriously with their practices. They currently are offering takeout only, have a visibly clean, clear barrier around the entire register area separating customers and employees, they're wearing masks (properly), have social distancing markers on the floor and hand sanitizer available for use of customers. Thank you, Bamboo Garden. Your efforts are not unnoticed.

I love Chinese food, and this place does not disappoint! They once had different owners and the food was terrible, so I quit ordering and would drive across town just to be satisfied. I was on NextDoor one day and someone was making a great comment about how good the food was, then another agreed, and another, and another.....so I decided to give them another try. Much to my delight, I found the new owners and the food to be great! Portions are huge, flavor is packed and the service is great. They are extremely fast and always friendly. With COVID going on, they are only a take-out restaurant now, but I know there are several delivery companies who will bring it to you. It's worth the delivery charge! Lunch average is $6.45, which includes the entree, rice and egg roll. Dinner portions are huge as well. We go there at least once a week....sometimes twice!

How do you mess up General Tso Chicken? How? Nasty. No flavor. Soggy breading. I took 2 bites and decided that was enough. The Rangoon was all cream cheese flavor. Also do not like places that have their young children working the counter. Those kids don't choose to be there....almost a mild form of child slave labor, do you pay your children a wage?.....if you want to be taken seriously as a restaurant hire professional help and don't have your kids doing it. Based off the bad General Tso and child workers I will not ever be returning. Not a good experience. Not sure how you've mustard up even a 3.5 stars.

Being in food service myself for 30 years, bamboo garden is just as good as anything I've seen. The food is spot on. Delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Polite hard working staff that deserves everyone's respect. If you don't like the prices then stay home and do it yourself. Thank you for all that you do!!!!!!

Great, food very delicious especially on your lunch break from work I would definitely recommend the sesame chicken lunch combo.

Sleepy little joint with a 10 year old running the front of the house. Waited 20+ minutes for my to go order and I'm their only patron. The lady who presented my order was very polite, which I appreciated. Food was OK with the Orange Chicken repeatable. Doubt I'll make the effort since I don't live nearby.

Looove it here! My favorite local Chinese spot in the area, if not my favorite spot for Chinese anywhere! Loooove the sesame tofu, crab Rangoon, and my family enjoys the vegetable low mein and sweet & sour chicken! We even ordered right before closing once and the food was still delicious! Sometimes when you order at a place before closing, the food is not good. The owner is the chef and he's on point! Support this local spot!

I ordered from this Chinese Restaurant, because it was near my home. I did not feel like driving 20 minutes from where I usually get my Chinese food. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, that tasted real bland. Also, had the sesame chicken, that had a weird taste from what I was used to from other restaurants. The chicken wings that I ordered were big and did not taste good. Me and my husband could not finish our food, we ended up throwing it away, which was a waste of money, but we were not enjoying it. First and last visit!

**update: how does a Chinese place run out of wonton soup? The last 3 times I've gone in or called, the young boy has said there is no wonton soup. This is my favorite soup!**. -1 star for sad. Excellent food! Everyone here is really nice and very polite. If you're looking for fast, that's only going to happen if you're the only person in there. Mom and dad are making the food, and the young son is taking the orders. I really like that his place, and there's a good chance I'll be eating here more than once per week!

Little boy at the counter was rude. Second time I have been here and was told they didn't have hot and sour soup! First time he made it sound like they were just out. This time, though, he said they don't sell it....WHAT KIND OF CHINESE TAKEOUT RESTAURANT DOES NOT SELL HOT AND SOUR SOUP?? I also read the previous reviews and someone was talking about how good the hot and sour soup is. The last time I just left. This time I am going to stay, but will not be back.

bamboo garden has been my family's Number one Chinese spot to go to for lunch and dinner. We absolutely love the way that their rice ties in with literally every entrée. This location is extremely cheap and affordable for family meals. We have been loyal to this location for a while now. even after switching over to new ownership BAMBOO GARDEN has not switched up it's recipes orrrr it's delightful service skills. Also, they are now hiring for a part-time position as of May 14, 2021. None of my siblings are old enough yet,But if you or anyone that you know is 16 years old or older I definitely believe that this will be the job for you. Amazing and clean environment.

Pretty good food for the area . The chicken wing are ginormous got 4 next time order 3 instead . Seems empty most of the time . But food is made fresh 15 min wait the norm . Try it for your self

Under new ownership it states... lady behind counter & guy cooking were both friendly & pleasant. I got mango chicken lunch combo w eggroll & fried rice...a bottle of water it was only $7.50. It filled togo with the amout of food. Mango chicken veggies & sauce tasted great. Eggroll was ok & the fried rice wasnt anything to write home about (Didnt have much flavor). Reason for the 4 stars.. value for the food at lunch was great fast friendly service for what I paid & what I recieved I have no complaints. Thank you best of luck on your new business!

This place is absolutely great! Friendly service during this crazy time, food was amazing. It's worth the extra drive. The only complaint I have is the crab ragoons were very greasy.

My measuring stick for Chinese-American restaurants are either S/S chicken or crab rangoon. My wife's is Rangoon and orange chicken. We have eaten here several times and never have we been disappointed! The rangoon has great flavor, not just cream cheese and onion powder. The S/S sauce is JUST RIGHT which is hard to find and the chicken is really good with zero bones/cartilage pieces. My wife always enjoy the food she orders. Why not 5 stars? The place itself needs a LITTLE work and they could use one more employee to cut the long carryout wait time. I respect the hustle as only husband, wife and son are the ones running the place but one more cook or a cashier can't hurt and could speed up the wait. Overall, after eating from other similar spots along MH2 (Mt Holly Huntersville Rd), this one and Red Bowl are the only ones thatv still have menus in our house.... Highly recommend!

Food was bland and over cooked. Fried rice had no vegetables in it and meat was tough. We will not try again.

Ordered the same thing I always get and it was horrible. Soaked in greese, rubbery,chicken. I could even see burnt pieces of something from the wok. Not eating here again for a while.

The wings are awesome, but this place needs a do over the decor is very old and dusty there's Italian decor mixed with Chinese (confusing ) and there is this oder that has been there both times I've been. The owners really need to clean this place up

Good food, fair price. It looks empty but its because most people take out. When we sat down at least 7 people took food to go and enough for a family. The food tastes good. My wife and I really liked the white rice. Next time will try the chicken wings, lots of people order those.

I LOVE Chinese food and have eaten at many a Chinese restaurant in my time.... This by far is the WORST! Rice was over cooked and chicken did not taste nor "chew" like chicken. Yuck!

Great food at reasonable prices always fresh and nice employees. The General Tso Chicken or the pork in garlic sauce are at the top for me.

Every time we eat here the food is outstanding. From the Pepper Steak to the Seasame Chicken even the chicken wings are great. My children won't go to any other Chinese restaurant without complaining. Fast, friendly service, and great food. Can not ask for better and the prices are great.

our family enjoys take out from here. we get 1 meat dish and 1 noodle dish for the 4 of us. we have lots of left overs for the next day.. :)
