"It’s worth making the trek to Humble for a taste of the Beijing duck at this casual Sichuan restaurant. Bamboo House’s lauded iteration can be ordered as a half or whole and is presented with delicate pancake wraps, soybean sauce, cucumber, and green onion, plus a warm bowl of soup brought out to the table first to enjoy as an appetizer. If you’ve got room, try an order of the Japanese egg tofu or the house beef noodles." - Megha McSwain

I am a big fan of Peking duck, so when I heard it was good here, I had to try it. I must admit, the duck skin here is top-notch—crispy and melts in your mouth. The accompanying pancakes are plentiful, and the meat is fragrant, served with a side of soup. Additionally, I ordered the Basil Eggplant, Spicy and Crispy Chicken, and Beef Noodles. The portions are quite large, and the prices are fairly reasonable. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are quick and enthusiastic.

This hidden gem had been catching my eye for weeks as I cruised down the freeway, and I finally gave in to curiosity on a Sunday afternoon. From the moment we stepped inside, the ambiance spoke volumes. Most of the diners were of Asian descent—a promising sign that the flavors here are authentic. (I always say the same when I stumble upon a taco truck packed with locals, but that's a topic for another day!) The staff greeted us with warm smiles and attentive service, but what truly stole the show was the food. Bold Asian flavors met generous American-sized portions, a pairing you rarely find. The teriyaki chicken alone could easily satisfy three adults—not counting the side of rice. Each bite was packed with flavor, leaving us daydreaming about our next visit. This spot has officially earned the title of our post-church favorite. Next time, we’re setting our sights on their Peking duck, ready to dive into another culinary adventure.

This place is right off 8 and 59. I would say this is very similar to a regular Chinese American restaurant with all the dishes you’ve heard before plus a few things that maybe you haven’t. The portions are HUGE! The lunch specials run you about $10 Mon-Fri 11am-2pm and it’s enough to share with someone. We went in and ordered Cumin Beef, Stir Fried Chinese vegetables (which idk why it’s called Chinese veggies bc it’s eggplant, green beans, bell peppers and potatoes) and the bamboo house special noodles with chicken. The noodles were hand cut! Parking is decent but be aware that it does get busy so it’s harder to park large vehicles. Overall I would give the food 7/10, service is great and portions are huge!

Google
Their signature Peking Duck is absolutely top-notch! I was truly impressed by their rotating oven and the meticulous way they plated the duck. The wrappers were paper-thin and soft, making for the perfect bite. As a nice touch, the owner treated us to a rich and flavorful duck bone soup, a perk of my friends being regulars. The stir-fried pea shoots and boiled fish fillet in hot oil were both delicious. The salt and pepper shrimp, however, was just average—nothing particularly memorable (and I even forgot to snap a photo). Overall, the Peking Duck alone makes this place worth visiting!

Google
This Chinese restaurant offers generous portions of delicious food at very reasonable prices. Their Peking duck is among the best in the Greater Houston area. We also enjoyed their chicken, beef, fish, shrimp, and vegetable dishes. I highly recommend it if you are near the intersection of Highway 59 and Sam Houston Parkway.

Google
The Peking duck?!! *chefs kiss Service was great and quick. Food was absolutely delicious! Would recommend in a heartbeat! Got the: Mapo tofu Peking duck House special beef noodles

Google
The staff was fast polite and attentive. The food was big portions definitely more than what I thought would be served. The taste was on point!!! Definitely a place I would love to return and try different dishes. The only negative thing I could say is be careful leaving if you are turning onto beltway 8 feeder there is a big pothole that could do serious damage to your vehicle

Google
Huge portions, biggest noodle bowl I’ve ever seen! Plenty of indoor seating, casual ambience. Fast service. You can watch the chef prepare the roast duck 🦆 behind the open glass wall. We ordered the roast Peking duck (pretty good, comes with duck sauce and plum sauce which was subtly sweet, the duck skin was done well), house special noodles, mushroom chicken (not bad), and beef with vegetables (vegetables tasted flavorless and had the texture of being undercooked with too much cornstarch. I recommend the roast duck and House Special Noodles - they were flat and hand pulled chewy, doughy thick noodles with garlic sauce and peanut crumbles. They bring the noodles to you in 2 separate bowls - 1 bowl with just noodles and sauce and 1 bowl with the vegetables and meat (beef). Each bowl was so huge that we thought the 2nd bowl was for another table, another order, but they ended up pouring the 2nd bowl into the first one making an even larger portion size than what we originally expected! The staff mixes it for you as a mini presentation. :)

Yelp
We all know we go to Chinese restaurants for the food, not service. But this place is pleasant, relatively clean despite the greasy floor so leave those Jimmy Choos at home. Also this place is infamous for the warning signs on the front door of the restaurant, warning, not to leave any valuables like luggage visible in your car because, your stuff will get jacked FRFR on God. So once you are prepared with proper footwear and empty car, let's get to the eating. I recommend the Peking duck, of course, and get the duck soup. Something that I've never seen as a peking duck garnish is raw sugar, which I guess will enhance the taste of the Crispy roast duck. If you know, please let me know! What I like about this restaurant is the perfect hoisin sauce. And the spring onions and cucumber. The quality of the food is solid and I recommend also the fried rice. They package everything nicely to go so be sure to get some because as with any Chinese food, you may be hungry Before you know it. Bamboo house is definitely my free flight and host flight meal of choice so I recommend you hit it up because those airport meal options are pricey and not as savory. Bamboo house, see you soon!

Robinson L.

Yelp
The pecking duck here was fantastic. It has the modified sweeter taste to it but it doesn't disrupt the original pecking duck experience. The duck comes with great presentation and the pancake buns were soft and hot. The servers are super attentive. Slightly disappointed with the salted egg yolk sweet potatoes. Was expecting something more seasoned instead of just fried sweet potato with salted egg yolk coding. It seems to be one of the only nice Chinese restaurants in the area. Definitely worth a try for their duck.

Yelp
Yoooo! This place might be the best place on Yelp ! Food was traditional, plentiful & delicious, one dish could feed 5 people! The House noodles were crazy good, spicy and lots of veggies, Sesame Chicken was incredibly delicious too, tangy & hot ! Service was fast and very polite & courteous. For the price/ portion ratio, this place is awesome ! We had plenty in thr baggy! Definitely take your friends ! Ambiance is nice with clean and appealing decor. 10/10 visit. Will go again !

Mei-Lan C.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was delicious. Portions are large and the price is low for the amount of food you get. They have a big menu with a variety of authentic Chinese food and some more westernized ones

Felicia G.

Yelp
One of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in the area. Good food, large portions & friendly staff. Just an fyi: Do not leave anything valuable in your vehicle on this side of town.

Russell T.

Yelp
A little tucked away, but well worth going! I had the Kung Po chicken. My friends had the shrimp lo mein, honey walnut shrimp, Rangoon, egg rolls, and won Ron soup. Everything was excellent with portions large enough for take home boxes. Definitely recommend!!

Alyssa T.

Yelp
This place is so good. My team and I had to stay another night in Houston due to the hurricane affecting Atlanta, but we definitely don't regret it because the food here is great. The prices here are AMAZING, and the portions they give are huge. We got the house special fried rice without the shrimp, but it didn't matter because they LOADED it up with chicken. We got half a Peking duck, and it was delicious. We also got twice cooked pork and mixed vegetables, and all of it was so good and we definitely went home full. The service here was very attentive, and the inside of the restaurant is huge but very clean. If I am ever in the area again, I would definitely come here if I'm craving Chinese food.

Gail D.

Yelp
Excellent crispy duck. Best I've had in many years. Family friendly with great service. Will definitely go again when I have to go to the Airport. lol

Keisha R.

Yelp
The menu is extensive; many many choices to choose from. Prices are decent. The duck looked amazing and I probably should have ordered it. The waiters came quickly and had a decent attitude. The spicy beef noodle soup was ok. The beef and noodles were cooked well but the ratio of juice to noodles and beef was off. Not enough juice. The house special chicken noodle soup was good. Large portions. The waiter mixed it at the table, which was unexpected but cool. Overall, it's just ok given the great Chinese and sichuan places in Houston. For the area, it's worth going. The inside is clean, although floors were slippery. A women almost slipped and fell while I was there and I slid too.

Nicole T.

Yelp
I came here to get some comforting duck soup and they did not disappoint, I wasn't able to eat too much because I was having a medical episode. However my partner got their special noodles with chicken and she said it tasted so good and fresh, the portions were worth the price and the service was attentive and super friendly. I'll definitely be back after my surgery! To try other dishes!

Harry P.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Peking duck meal. Very similar to what you get at Beijing. Duck is roasted to perfection and the wrappers are great. Plenty of food for 2 people. Service is very nice and they are kind people. It's in a weird area near the airport though.

Patty C.

Yelp
After more than a handful of visits, I am confident in naming this one of my favorite spots on this side of town. It's such a great mix of Chinese American and more traditional dishes, with actual Chinese chefs in the background working their magic with fresh ingredients and no msg. The portions here are served in family style sizes meant for sharing. Not only are they ginormous, they're so inexpensive! I always over order and have at least three meals to take home. I've tried a good amount of their offerings now, and my favorite dishes are the pork belly and mushrooms, walnut shrimp, sliced boiled fish, Peking duck, and the crispy spicy chicken. They're all mostly delicious. I've only sent back a dish once because it was swimming in a pool of grease. Ask for some chili oil. It adds some extra oomph and heat to the dish. Service is very hit or miss. Definitely not the best, but they try. We're usually seated right away, and there's always a nice steady stream of customers, with even Asians in the mix. That's how you know the food is fire! They are able to handle large parties.

Dang N.

Yelp
Only come for the peking duck. Everything else is ok to borderline terrible. But the peking duck for its $ is totally worth it. I would come back again regularly, but only for the peking duck.

Mark A.

Yelp
Haven't tried the entire menu so can only speak for what I have had... Lo Mein was good but nothing to write home about...

James K.

Yelp
We came here again a few weeks ago and loved it! Huge portion sizes, good food, friendly staff, the ability to get a table without a reservation, and fair prices. It was a successful trip. We will be back!

Samantha J.

Yelp
If I could, I would give this spot a solid 4.5 stars. I wish they still had their Westheimer location as I rarely go to the Humble area. I stopped by on a Sunday for lunch prior heading to Lake Livingston. The restaurant was almost full, so I'm glad we were able get a seat without waiting. We of course had the peking duck, mapo tofu and the green beans. The peking duck was cooked well with crispy skin and the fat was rendered well. It comes with the typical duck sauce, onions and cucumber but they also have the brown sugar. I love how they still serve the duck soup on the side. It's also nice how they let you get a half duck instead of a whole if you're dining with less people. The mapo tofu was also very good and had a lot of flavor. It wasn't watered down like many other places. The green beans were also solid as well. They have a large menu with a mix of traditional chinese dishes and also more unique ones like strawberry chicken and salted egg yolk sweet potato fries. Overall, they have one of the best peking ducks in the city. I just wish they were a little closer. Service was also great and the waitress we had was very helpful and nice. I'm excited to come back and try more of their menu!

Jenn R.

Yelp
We were served promptly, and the waitress provided outstanding service. She was very courteous in explaining the dishes, and the portions were generous with excellent flavor.

Shirley K.

Yelp
A friend of mine picked up this Peking duck to greet us after arriving from the airport. Unfortunately, time was against us, and we were unable to see the decor and interior of the restaurant. The duck had waited for us for about 30 to 40 minutes before we actually got to eat any of it. I have to say, this duck is some of the best duck I have ever had. The skin was crispy, despite the time delay, the thin layer of fat that coats your mouth was slightly smokey, and the meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. After assembling the duck wrap, the flavors of the duck complimented the leeks and the hoisin sauce perfectly. I did not get tired of the flavor at all and savored every bite. If you're even slightly curious about trying duck, I cannot recommend this duck enough.

Yelp
Landed in Houston last night and stopped by Bamboo House since it was so close to the airport. My family and I were surprised by how delicious everything here was! Peking Duck: 9/10. We had to try this since this is supposedly Bamboo House's specialty dish. The duck had perfectly crispy skin with tender and savory meat; it paired wonderfully with the pancake wraps, cucumber, and sauces it came with! We got the half order, which we didn't realize also came with duck soup! The soup had bits of duck meat and daikon; overall it was light yet pretty flavorful. Would definitely recommend ordering the duck to anyone coming here for the first time! House Special Noodle with Beef: 10/10. This was a GIGANTIC dish. I feel like the picture does not do the size justice. The noodles were my dad and my favorite dish of the night. They were freshly pulled, had a decent amount of kick from the spice, and were so chewy!! BBQ pork with green beans: 7/10. Did not realize this was more of a green bean dish than BBQ pork lol. There were very small bits of pork inside. Regardless we were already so full from the other dishes that we were thankful this was a lighter dish. The green beans were very flavorful and well-cooked. Japanese Tofu with Mushroom: 8/10. The tofu was delicious with a slightly sweet sauce and came on a bed of bok choy and mushroom, which were both very tender. Our entire dinner including tax and tip was under $100 for three people. And we definitely ordered too much because the portions here are large. I would definitely come back again if I'm visiting the area in the future.

Katie A.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. It was a random pick for a group of friends meeting in a central spot. There was about a 15 minute wait and once seated the service remained consistently slow. We got the crab rangoons to start, which were your typical rangoons but very good. The sauerkraut fish was HUGE! It basically came in a giant cauldron. Beautiful presentation and really tasty (and spicy!). The bamboo house special noodles were fresh made noodles then mixed table side. The noodles were amazing but the sauce a little on the sweet side for me. The lo mein was also a nice dish. Everything we had was amazing. The menu is huge so I hope to go back and try more dishes. This was a great find!

Cindia Q.

Yelp
Family was starving after we landed and found this place close to the airport. Ordered a few dishes thinking they would be california sized, but no!!! The portions literally followed the everything is bigger in texas saying! Didn't know the portions were that big that we ordered too much and had tons of leftovers. Coming from an asian american, all the dishes were authentic and tasted just like home! Another bonus is that the ambiance is on point with popular chinese music and an open kitchen style where you can see the duck being cooked and the staff were all super nice. Will be coming back when we leave to go back home, except we will definitely be ordering wayyyy less

Verna N.

Yelp
Food was amazing! We came for the peking duck. We ordered a whole duck for four people. We also ordered 3 separate dishes: strawberry chicken, eggplant, and bok choy/mushroom. We did not anticipate how large the portions were. We were able to finish the duck, which was perfect, but we couldn't finish the other dishes, so we had leftovers to take home. It wasn't busy on the Thursday night we visited. Service was quick and attentive. I'd come back.

Sam F.

Yelp
The best Chinese food and duck in Humble. Everything I've tried is fresh and delicious. The portions are large and almost everything is shareable. Do not sleep on the $4 wonton soup. The wontons are as big as your fist! Our service is always courteous, knowledgeable efficient. We love the spicy chicken, wonton soup, duck, beef soup, fried rice etc. just try the whole menu 1 at a time!

Wendy L.

Yelp
My last meal in Houston on my most recent meal and we are so happy we stopped here right before our flight home. My husband and I ordered a half duck and the special beef noodles and it was amazing! Also portions are huge we were not even close to finishing. But it made for a great meal on our flight home. The duck was cooked to perfection and crispy skin. The noodles were flavorful and perfect chewiness. If I'm ever back in Houston, you bet I'll be stopping by Bamboo House.

Mary R.

Yelp
We are back since it is one of best restaurants in the Northeast side of Houston. We order our usual favorite which I will share pictures below. The food is always fresh, delicious and full of flavor. The menu has something for everyone. Staff is always friendly and make you feel welcome. The ambiance is traditional and clean. No sticky or greasy floors.

Zach H.

Yelp
YUM! This place was awesome. Their Peking Duck was great (we got the half for 3 people) which is the main reason we came here - had heard it was good. We also shared the spicy chicken, Mapo Tofu, and eggplant and everything came out in huge portion sizes. Very good bang for the buck in my opinion and the service was great too which was a plus.

Sara C.

Yelp
Nothing was too salty, everything was SO flavorful, very fresh and well plated. showed up pretty hungry and ended up trying quite a few dishes. 1. Half pecking duck : comes with the pecking duck soup. : SO SO SO GOOD : kind of confused what the sugar and sour-ish sauce was for but it comes with the stuff you need to make wraps 2. Mapo tofu :this dish is always SO SALTY anywhere else you go but here.. they make it really delicious w/o needing to destroy the taste with spice and salt. : it also comes in this cute ceramic cauldron looking thing 3. Spicy boiled fish : this is ALWAYS my go to dish when i go to family style chinese restaurants. : again.. not salty. very very delicious. Its kind of of a long drive for those living near rice and the medical area BUT SO FREAKING WORTH THE DRIVE!! they have a lot of seating inside so i think when they get busy you probably won't need to wait for a long time.

Bjorn H.

Yelp
The food was very tasty and the portions were huge. We got half a Peking Duck, Spicy Crispy Chicken, Basil Eggplant. We also got a duck soup which came with the duck. All very good and way more food than we could eat.

Alexis N.

Yelp
Bamboo house used to be located in the Westheimer area near the Galleria when it first opened, I tried it there and thought that the duck was too oily/greasy at the time. I have since tried it again at this new location and it's the same result the duck is still very oily/greasy. When you order the duck meal here, you will get the carbs to wrap it in along with cucumber, green onion, and sauce, you will also get a soup. The most enjoyable part of the meal was probably the soup which was very flavorful and light. I prefer the bao buns given at other places that serve peking duck over the flat type of carb they use here, but that is just personal preference. Overall, the meal was very average.

Philip C.

Yelp
Warning, Warning, Warning! Beware of the Generous Portions! Summary: This restaurant has only one location now, close to IAH, the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The atmosphere isn't fancy, but the food is really amazing--top-notch, and we loved the service there! According to my family, it has the best Peking Duck in Houston. Food: Get ready for generous portions and a unique dining experience here at Bamboo House! The star of the show is undoubtedly the whole Peking Duck, served with soup, tortilla-like pancakes, cucumber, and green onions. It also comes with hoisin sauce and two extra homemade sauces, Our family of four happily finished the entire duck and soup, savoring every bite. The Couple's Sliced Beef in Chili Sauce, originally an appetizer, could easily be a main dish due to its ample size. The tender beef and tasty sauce left a lasting impression. Another tasty option was the Bamboo House Special Beef Noodle, featuring thick noodles that lived up to their reputation. To cap off our meal, the Mango Shrimp was unique and I'm impressed with its jumbo-sized shrimp. TLDR: Huge portion and yummy! Coming back to see you soon!

Gloria M.

Yelp
This place took me by surprise. There is plenty of parking, the curb appeal is beautiful and welcoming. We walked in and were greeted and seated. The venue inside and out was aesthetically pleasing. We ordered various food but our favorite is the duck which is flavourful, skin is crispy and its not oily, and our favorite soup was the wanton soup. Meals are family style so eveyone gets a taste. Prices are very reasonable for delicious meals. My family enjoyed coming here - definitely a place to add to your dinner rotation list.

Hadas E.

Yelp
This is the best place ever!! The food here is so delicious no matter what you order! I have been to Bamboo house at least 5 times and have never gotten a disappointing experience. The whole restaurant is so clean and tidy but still so culturally inviting. The service is so nice and food arrives very quickly. I would definitely come here if you're looking for a delicious Chinese meal!!

Oliver S.

Yelp
Not Peking Duck anymore. I have visited Bamboo House more than a dozen times since they first opened, and something changed this time. Their signature Peking Duck changes, it's much more closer to Cantonese style duck now than Beijing, absolutely not authentic anymore. Cooking, color, and everything else is off now. If you had anything close to Peking Duck you know this is not it.

William L.

Yelp
Being from Beijing originally, I'm always a fan of the iconic Peking Duck when done correctly and was really looking forward to trying this place out. The restaurant has a very spacious interior; recently went through some type of remodeling. Numerous signs outside indicating "careful with luggage in car" warnings as there seems to be alot of break-ins in the area. Now to the main attraction: The duck quantity was excellent, skin was roasted very well, crispy and delicious with generous servings of pancake wraps, cucumber/green onions/Peking soybean sauce. (Good presentation) The soup was fairly tasty as well and brought me back to a time when my family used to go to 全聚德 Quanjude in Beijing and wait for the restaurant's closing to purchase the duck carcass to make the soup at home (Still a very delicious/underrated dish in my opinion with great value- Soup is a Must-try) Also tried out some other dishes like the Mapo Tofu and assorted meat/veggies. I was not a fan of the combo meat skillet dish, the tofu was okay. The menu had alot of different directions but the Duck is really the star of the show. I would rate that a 5 by itself without trying the other dishes. Service was good, not too busy for a Sunday evening, waiter was nice to give my group of 4 the large table with the Lazy Susan (hands down the best invention for Chinese restaurants) Will definitely be back and this may become our travel group's goto post IAH arrival meal!

Gabrielle C.

Yelp
Who would have thought you could get delicious Peking duck on this side of Houston? Not me! I've seen their red sign that claims they have the best Peking duck, and let me tell you that's pretty up there! They had a wide selection of Chinese inspired dishes that are family style portions which is always nice to see. The staff was friendly and helpful and for early dinner Sunday it wasn't too busy either. This restaurant has a very relaxed feel to it which was appreciated. Note that for soft drinks they do it by the can which is about $3 with no refill so this is definitely a hot tea or water establishment.

Hongsuk S.

Yelp
Went again with a group of 6. Still recommend but some of the items were not as great as last time. 1.5 Ducks ($50, $28) - 4.75/5: Duck was as great as last time! One slightly negative thing was we only got one big soup for our full duck and not the small soup for the small duck. No reduction on bill, either. Spicy and Crispy Chicken ($17) - 3/5: Fried chopped up chicken with chilies. Not bad but nothing special. Wish the chunks of chicken were larger and the dish spicier/more dimensions on the flavor. Basil Eggplant ($11) - 2/5: Super bland. Sauteed Golden Egg & Sweet Potato ($17) - 4/5: Sweet potato fries with salted egg flavor. Unique dish to me and a large quantity to share with others! Bit heavy for me to eat a lot of but nice to have it in small portions. Bamboo House Special Beef Noodles ($15) - 4.5/5: Loved the noodles, super chewy. Sauce was pretty good as well. Ratio is a bit off such that there is a lot more sauce than noodles so we ordered extra noodles (~$8) to put back into the sauce. Cumin Beef ($16) - 3/5: Little heavy on the salt content. Other than that, not bad, but not amazingeither. Will definitely be back to try the other stuff!

Nina F.

Yelp
ordered Take-out sesame chicken, this is what I received. I called to clarify order when husband got home. young lady told me this is how they make their Sesame chicken and they wouldn't offer to remake or sub for anything else. Will not eat here again

Angelique C.

Yelp
The best food I've ever had. We went for the lunch specials and the portions are huge. Very delicious and had enough for dinner. We had a 15 min wait for did not mind it. The waiter constantly checked on us and good service all around.

Scott L.

Yelp
Check in again this week while visiting with my family, noticed slight change (menu was difficult and not alcohol offered), heard that they closed during the Covid and re-opened the recently. Food was still amazing, we ordered the whole duck with soup, bok choy, tofu and lo mein. We couldn't finish them just so much food that they bring to the table. Taste were great, duck was crispy, mushroom was actually fried but well flavored. Tofu with seafood wasn't as impressive as the others though. Service was very accommodating. Everyone in the family loves the dinning experience here!

Lisandra T.

Yelp
Very nice service. Everything cooked well and came out hot. Table for three and we went home with enough left overs for two days. The drinks are served in a can so refills will cost you. It's small and cozy in and out kind of spot and you can see the ducks roasting in the maybe front of kitchen . Only sketchy part is the parking. Signs EVERYWHEERE telling yo u to not leave valuables in car. I'd return though lol

Lizzie G.

Yelp
This restaurant is SO good! Very quickly seated around 8pm, and the server was super friendly and helpful. Big place with a lot of tables, mostly seeming to cater to larger groups! Mom and I dropped in and definitely over-ordered! I would say the majority of portions are meant for 3-4 people, so either go expecting an abundance of leftovers or go with people that you're able to agree on food to split with! - hot and sour soup was yummy, share size was enough for about 4-5 bowls - jasmine tea was probably about 65 oz, mom and I had at least 3-4 cups each and we took home the rest! It was about 2 full 20-24 oz cups left! - veggie chicken had large chunks of breast, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and zucchini! Probably about 4 decent portions. Plus we both got a large bowl of rice each. - crab puffs included a total of 6! - egg rolls were an order of 3! I would definitely come back if ever in Humble again! Mom and I agreed it's possibly the best Chinese we've ever had! Next time I might get the teriyaki chicken skilled because it came out to another table and looked / smelled so good!

Rachel X.

Yelp
This place is delicious, with so many authentic Chinese food choices, as well as Americanized Chinese food if you like those. Their portions are very generous, and the price is super reasonable. I recommend the Peking duck, the salted egg sweet potatoes (my kids loved them), Japanese tofu, eggs with shrimps, noodles etc. We got the sizzling chicken, which is a huge portion and stirred in tableside. You will definitely take food to go because the portions are so big.

Kelly N.

Yelp
Came at 5:30pm on a Saturday and there was no wait. When we left at around 7pm, though, there was a huuuge wait. Like full waiting area with more people waiting outside. Service was quick and helpful. Our server asked us if we planned to get the Peking duck as soon as we sat because it takes a while to come out. He wanted to ensure we had a shorter wait time as we looked at the rest of the menu, which I thought was really nice and efficient. PEKING DUCK: This is the only place where I've had the thin "pancake" wraps and it was love at first bite! I'm used to eating Peking duck with bao buns, but now I can never go back. The pancakes are so delicately thin and have an amazing, chewy texture to me! The duck was moist and flavorful and the skin had the perfect texture! They really are pros at their signature dish! DUCK SOUP: This comes with the Peking duck if you dine-in. I'm sure it's meant to tide you over as you wait for the Peking duck to be ready in case it take a while. Because of this, I wasn't expecting it to be so good! I was expecting an average, basic soup, but no! Idk about you, but I don't come across duck soup very often. This made me question why it's not more common! It was very light, but also so flavorful! You could really taste the duck! I'd make sure to dine-in as opposed to ordering to-go just to get the soup again! JAPANESE EGG TOFU W/ MUSHROOM: I've only had this dish here, and it was life-changing! I don't even like tofu! I'm the type of person who doesn't order a dish if it doesn't have meat lol the only reason I tried this dish is because somebody else ordered it, but now I randomly think about this dish a few times a year and just smile lmao the texture is silky soft, like nothing I've ever had, and the flavor is delicious and on the sweeter side. Definitely a must try! CREAM CHEESE WONTONS: These were HUGE!! I've never seen them this big anywhere else! If eaten on your own, it could probably act as an entree lol aside from the size, it's a pretty common dish that's always a great choice for an appetizer. MONGOLIAN CHICKEN: I only had a bite, but it seemed pretty standard. Exactly what you'd expect. It had great flavor, but nothing better or worse compared to most other Chinese restaurants.

Yelp
Honestly just so good! Food is spectacular, we have order take home & also dine in and the food has been great either way. MUST state we live about 20 mins from restaurant - we were a little afraid of how the food would be once we got home. Surprisingly food was nice and hot & fresh! It's has a very traditional ambiance which is very enjoyable when you dine in. It is perfect for family dinners! Their servers are always nice and attentive! A must try! So close to IAH too if you have a long layover.

Yelp
Best Chinese on the north side of Houston! The Peking dick was amazing! Pea sprouts are my favorite new veggie! Honey BBQ pork was so good...have it with a little rice and soy sauce. It's the perfect blend of sweet and d salty. The server was attentive and also helped us choose her favorites. The decor is bright and old school. Go for the food that is what is so good! Nice to not have to got to Bellaire to get good Chinese food! If you know "good" food you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
The lunch specials are the best value. Food is tasty, and a lot. For 2 people, 1 meal is enough.... See my picture of lunch. Inc soup and egg roll

Yelp
Came here after I read an article about the top places to get Peking duck in Houston. This place definitely did not disappoint. This might be my new favorite chinese restaurant. Bonus points for being relatively close to me in the woodlands. We started our meal with Crab Rangoons. These were better than your average crab Rangoons, they were generously filled with crab and cream cheese. For entrees, we ordered a whole Peking duck, Sizzling Szechuan chicken and beef lo mein. The Peking duck was definitely the stand out. Nice crisp on the skin and it comes with all the right accoutrements. The Sizzling Szechuan chicken was also surprisingly excellent. Everything was great and was generously portioned. Will definitely be back soon.
