The 17 Best Restaurants In Daly City - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Head to this lively, plant-filled Thai-Malaysian-Singaporean spot in Daly City for fluffy, crisp-edged roti canai and chicken satay served with a peanut sauce you won’t be able to stop eating. The flavorful Hainanese chicken is a sleeper hit, but the tender beef rendang should also be on your table. The large, varied menu makes it a great place for groups, the portions are generous, and if you’re not ending your meal with an order of ice cream-stuffed roti kaya, you’re doing it wrong." - gabi moskowitz, patrick wong

"Pampered on an Island Anantara spa, located on Banana Island Resort, the newest fantasy island in Qatar, has taken the word “pamper” to a new level of luxury and extravagance. There are two ways to access the spa: by helicopter from Hamad International Airport, or by luxury yacht ferry after a 20-minute ride from the resort’s terminal on the corniche. At the spa, guests can enjoy 24-karat gold manicures, Moroccan or Turkish-styled hammams, heavenly signature spa treatments, seawater pearl facials, and ice well and steam rooms – all against the backdrop of the Arabian sea. Now, that's pampering."

I visited Banana Island during my trip to Qatar and it really stands out as a complete getaway experience rather than just a regular beach visit. The moment you arrive by boat, the atmosphere feels calm, clean and well-planned, with a strong sense of privacy and luxury. It is one of those places where you can spend the whole day without feeling the need to rush or move elsewhere. The island has something for every type of visitor. If you just want to relax, the beach area is wide, soft-sanded and peaceful, with plenty of space to sit, walk or simply enjoy the view. But what makes the island different is the adventure park, which offers several thrilling activities like zip lining, free fall, human slingshot, rope course, bouncing nets and a giant swing. It adds an element of fun that you don’t usually find at normal beaches, especially for people who enjoy outdoor challenges. Facilities are well taken care of and everything is organised in a way that you don’t feel crowded or rushed. Staff are present but not overbearing, and the overall environment is family-friendly, couple-friendly and suitable even for solo travelers who just want a quiet escape. What I liked most was that Banana Island gives you options. You can have an active, adventurous day or a slow, relaxing one — and both feel equally satisfying. It is not just about swimming or sunbathing; it feels like a short vacation inside a vacation. If someone is visiting Qatar and has time for a full-day experience that combines nature, water, adventure and comfort, Banana Island is definitely worth adding to the list. I would go again, especially to try more activities and spend more time just enjoying the calm side of the island.

Visited here with a day pass for around £80. This included the transfers, a food voucher and one of the selected activities. It was an overall relaxing day by the pool and beach and then we managed a stroll around the resort. A well kept, beautiful place which is ideal for those looking to relax

This hotel offered the best customer service we have ever experienced. Exceptional from first arrival at the port through to leaving. In comparison to a Maldivian island, I would rate here better. The rooms are large and spacious, with plenty to do on the island. There are regular boats back to the mainland should you want to go back, which are free. 4 restaurants on the Island all offer very good food options In my opinion, being a dry island does let it down, I like to have a glass of wine with an evening meal but that is just me! The gym area needs improvement too Recommend

Had a good experience, expensive for the price ad it’s just a beach and the food you can’t fault. Was nice and clean and towels and water been give on the beach. Husband had a jelly fish sting and the workers on the beach were very efficient and looked after him well and then called a nurse. Overall good experience

This place was truly outstanding We had some technical difficulties linked to the entertainer app, BUT Peter was outstanding. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for him or his team. The staff were all attentive and supportive, very caring and accommodating - much needed when you have kids. The place was pristine, activities were worth every penny, and the food portion sizes were very good based on the allowance you get for your purchased tickets. Our day pass option was a great experience but it will leave you wanting more - wish I made this trip longer.. Something I would recommend for future reference is to bring water shoes - there is a lot of coral which can be difficult to walk in places when you get in the sea. Thank you to banana Island team for making our visit magical.

When we arrived at the island, there were only two staff at the reception, so check-in took quite some time. They mentioned 15 minutes, but it took longer, especially with many guests before they added more staff. Still, once we got settled, the experience was absolutely worth it! The island is beautiful, peaceful, and has a wonderful relaxing vibe. There are plenty of amenities and lots of fun water activities to enjoy. The place is very family-friendly, the staff are nice and accommodating, and the food is really good. Overall, a great experience — perfect for a weekend getaway! 🌴✨
