Everybody knows it’s a sheet of pasta tossed in walnut butter and finished with a confit egg. Their latest opening is in Kensington. "Bancone in Borough Yards is quite simply a beautiful place to eat beautiful pasta. Lean back into caramel-coloured leather seats and peer into the kitchen as pasta is tossed in sauce, and confit yolks are slid onto plates. Order the signature silk handkerchiefs glistening with walnut butter, every bite smooth and rich, then move onto the spicy ‘nduja ragù. For somewhere that feels special, it’s all very reasonably priced. "Bancone is all about really good pasta in a really great setting. And for somewhere with this much marble, it’s pretty good-value too. Go for the silk handkerchiefs (sheets of velvety pasta covered in walnut butter and confit egg yolk), or the hogget pappardelle with Thai basil. Grab a counter seat and peer into the open kitchen as thin sheets of their signature silk handkerchiefs are tossed in a glossy walnut butter sauce and topped with confit yolks. We’re also big fans of the surprisingly light duck ragù with crunchy pieces of crackling scattered on top like breadcrumbs. "Friends, colleagues, family, dates are all welcome at Bancone. Hell, bring your ex—you’ll look fantastic sitting at the counter in the candlelight. Whether you’re at the main bar or the oval counter around an olive tree, Bancone is a truly lovely place to be.
