The Best Bánh Mì In San Francisco

"Like the name suggests, b&b specializes in boba and bánh mì—an ideal pairing, like compact cars and parallel parking. We love this Sunset spot because their sandwiches are a pretty great value, considering they are massive. Fillings include slow-roasted pork belly, chicken, and fried tofu, but you’ll want to zero in on the bánh mì that comes with the big helping of tender bulgogi beef and creamy house-made gochujang aioli we now want on everything." - lani conway, ricky rodriguez

Where To Grab Picnic Food Near Golden Gate Park

"We love this Inner Sunset spot that specializes in boba tea and fantastic bánh mì stuffed with everything from roasted pork belly to fried tofu to chicken. If you really want to impress your picnic crew, get the one with bulgogi beef - the meat is rich and tender, and it comes with a creamy house-made gochujang aioli. Actually, consider ordering a couple of bulgogi beef sandwiches - you won’t want to share." - lani conway

Hog Island Oyster Co. Stops Harvesting Following Health Scare - Eater SF

"The Inner Sunset’s new B&B (1634 Irving Street) specializes in the appealing combo of banh mi and boba. Milk teas are brewed with loose leaves, while more unusual drinks include ube taro milk and mango-kumquat-lychee punch. Banh mi options are largely traditional — five-spice chicken, roasted pork — but there’s also a bulgogi beef version with kimchi and gochujang aioli." - Janelle Bitker

Google
A good bahn mi is hard to find in the Sunset, in my opinion. My regular spots have changed and just don't taste as good. The menu not only bahn mi’s for meat and non-meat eaters as well as rice bowls too. And if you need something to wash it all down with, get yourself a boba and/or fruit tea. Since this was my first visit, I ordered the 5-spiced chicken and the bulgogi beef. Generous portions of meat served in a fresh roll. Overall delicious sandwiches and I have return a couple of time. It is a small store front, so standing room inside is limited and there are a couple of stools for inside seating, while waiting for your sandwich. The owner/staff is very friendly. Support your local business and check it out!

Don't let a small place deceive you! Our family was looking for a boba place right after Dance in the Park, and found this spot. We got boba drinks and found them all very refreshing. We got Lychee Love and Fuzzy Peach. Albert, the owner, is super friendly. Grateful to have found this spot and will go back if we find ourselves in the city again.

Google
Cute little new boba spot that opened a few months ago. I mean, it’s really little. They have bar seating for maybe 4 people. The sandwiches are fully loaded. The drinks are good too. Staff are really nice and accommodating.

Google
i got the bulgogi Bahn mi and matcha latte and both were delicious and worth every penny!! the person helping, I think it was the owner im not sure tho, was a sweetheart clearly loves that place and you can taste it in the food, very well kept lil hole in the wall ,, perfect for a meal post study session at the library!! wish I knew it was here when I lived closer

Google
The workers were so communicative. They let us know that our order was going to take a while because of how many orders they were trying to complete and asked if that was okay before taking our order. Well… why wouldn’t we be ok with that! It’s a hole in the wall that we always drive past and see crowds of people waiting for outside. Surely, we settled for a b&b combo and a bulgogi beef sandwich, as the owner seemed enthusiastic about his craft for those sammies when recommending us some options. We also got tempted and ordered the lychee love and the jazzy mango with some free boba topping, courtesy of Yelp check-in. Though sandwiches were a little on the more expensive side, our tummies were stuffed and taste buds were satisfied. Would recommend both b&b combo and the bulgogi beef sandwich because both were packed with meats/veggies and tastes fresh/flavorful. However, for the drinks, I would skip the fruit teas and maybe try a milk tea instead? The fruit teas were nothing special and seem to just use syrup with no actual fruit bits either. Now, you’ve read me rambling enough, go try this hole in the wall for your own!

Google
Great spot for boba and Banh Mi sandwiches. Parking can be a trouble but expected in San Francisco. The food and drinks are all good, decent price and brought out quickly. The staff is nice and welcoming. Overall, a great place to pick up some quick grub.

Google
The Dac Biet special combo was my favorite sandwich. The chicken was really good too. The bread was flaky without being hard or too crispy. The interior of the bread was light and fluffy. The pate on the Dac biet reminded me of the style from Vietnam. The Tiger tea was amazing! I will definitely be back.

Google
The boba drinks at this spot are expertly crafted. I consistently choose the real Taro with mochi and it never disappoints—it’s truly exceptional. However, the Bánh Mìs are the real stars here; they absolutely steal the show. The perfect combination of pâté, choice protein, and fresh daikon, carrots, and cucumber, all served on a flawlessly toasted baguette, creates an unforgettable experience. My only wish is for a Fairfield location. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant; it's well worth your time.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. Street parking can be a bit hard but I was able to get a spot right out front. I ordered two tofu banh mi. It was the lunch hour and they were able to make my sandwiches quickly. Hugest banh I've ever had and the bread was just perfect. Soft inside but that perfect crunch on the outside. Will return again and again and can't wait to try more of the menu! Definitely worth the try!

Yelp
tldr bomb banh mi at a reasonable price and serving other classic asian drinks perfect takeout spot with friendly service i'll preface i have only ordered one thing from their menu which is the beef bulgogi banh mi. a beautiful marriage of korean and viet flavors that work so well together w the crunchy veggie, plentiful sweet savory beef, and a crunchy yet soft baguette. certified as one of the best fusion banh mi in the city!!! service is very friendly and fast. I ordered online and the order was ready in 5. there's not much on the ambiance but it seems clean if u want to get a quick lunch bite with a chair or two overall i should really consider ordering other things from their menu for a full review but it's great thus far!

Yelp
Good bulgogi beef Banh mi. I rate it 8/10. Meat and bread were good, with nice crunchy carrots and stuff. I'd prefer a bit more juices inside but it was still juicy enough

Yelp
Amazing banh mi's! Highly recommend. No wait around 12:15pm on a Thursday. Paid parking found half a block away very easily. The guy working the counter was super enthusiastic and very nice. He prepared our 2 milk teas and 2 banh mi's in about 10 minutes. We ordered regular sized milk teas but he gave us large's for no additional cost. * Ube Taro Milk + honey boba - 4 stars. The boba itself were perfectly soft & textured. The milk tea was fine but the flavor tasted pretty generic. * Pork Belly Banh Mi - 5 stars. I got this one because this isn't always available. This was a huge sandwich! I ate slightly over half and it filled me up. The meat was soft and very tasty. But most importantly, the BREAD! Omg that bread, I'd be surprised if it wasn't fresh-baked in house. It was stretchy and soft on the inside, and had a perfect light crisp on the outside. Amazing!

Yelp
Hands down one of. best Bahn Mi places I have ever been to! ( I've been to a few!) if you want a tasty sandwich that is filling and not bland come here! The staff is always friendly and lots of locals (neighborhood folks) come here and that's a true sign of good things!!! It is a to-go place so don't expect to sit down.

Yelp
I've been back to this shop here and there ever since they've opened since and each time is consistently delicious. I usually call ahead of time and it takes 15 minutes to make. My favorite classic combo banh mi in the city. Their pate is sooo good and they give a great amount of head cheese which is my favorite! The size of their sandwich is above average and it's not just all bread, there's so much filling. The vegetables are tasty and crunchy. The bread itself is more similar to French bread which I prefer because it's got a nice chew to it, rather than the light airy type of bread.

Yelp
This place is such a special find. Pick up counter style with unique options for drinks. Everything was 10/10. Service and ambiance included.

Yelp
I love the concept of serving both banh mi and boba. When I heard about this place, I knew I HAD to come because those are my two favorite things. The shop is pretty small, but you can always sit nearby on a bench in Golden Gate Park to enjoy your sandwich and drink. :) The food menu offers banh mi sandwiches and rice bowls. The drink menu offers milk tea, fruit tea, and specialty drinks. I was directed to order using a QR code. I ordered a tofu banh mi with no jalapeño and a 24 oz (large size) Jazzy Mango with lychee jelly. I am always a fan of vegetarian banh mi that contains tofu rather than mushroom. I liked that b&B's tofu was fried. It had a spongy texture. I don't know if they gave me extra carrots because I didnt want jalapeño, but I felt like the sandwich had too much carrot. I also thought that the green onion sauce was very salty. Still, I thought that the portion size was generous and it was a very filling lunch! I really enjoyed my Jazzy Mango drink. I would come back for the fruit teas! I think this is a great lunch spot. It wasn't my favorite banh mi, but I would come back if I were craving boba and banh mi at the same time. I would also be willing to buy just the boba!

Yelp
The Vietnamese coffee here is quite strong (look at the color of the drink) which caught me off guard. It was also on the pricier side ($7) but overall still pretty yummy. I had already eaten but I will probably come back to try the banh mi.

Yelp
Long overdue visit to B&B after seeing so many IG posts of their food and hearing a lot of good reviews. Service: Very welcoming and efficient. The business owner, Albert, is a prime example of how every food proprietor should treat their customers. Food: I went with two Yelp highlighted items: Combo banh mi & Pork Belly banh mi (both with extra pate & jalapenos). Both were outstanding and the size of traditional deli sandwiches- which makes the pricing justified imo and more comparable to a sub sandwich - just look at my photo! The bread was super soft with a perfect crust. Perfect with the extra pate I added. Meats & veggies were well prepared and generous. Overall, it was very apparent that care was taken to curate and prepare each ingredient. This spot should be on every Top SF Banh Mi list. I did not try their boba, but I would find it hard to believe that their drinks are not top tier too. Since I am now living back in the neighborhood, I will be definitely be back to try their other offerings.

Yelp
Sandwiches are filled to the brim! So much protein and they don't skip out on veggies either! Service was friendly and happy to help us first timers. Only thing I would not get again is the strawberry boba. It lacked any sweetness and was almost bitter tasting. I believe they use real strawberries and its not in season.

Yelp
Went on a Monday afternoon with a friend, met Albert, got a Hong Kong boba tea, and a Beef Bulgogi sandwich, which was SMACKIN. Great customer service and great food, highly recommend.

Yelp
Great fusion banh mi's! I like the bulgolgi a lot. The house combo was my go to before I switched. The portion is slightly larger than your usual banh mi. Local owners and they're super friendly.

Yelp
Awesome customer service! The moment I went in, I felt so welcomed by the person working there. It was one very kind man, making the food and serving the customers. He was so kind and patient with me and the service was fast. Once I ordered, he said about it was about an 8 minute wait. I came back after 8 minutes and it was ready! He was very nice to me. I got a fried tofu banh mi and I brought it home and added some mayo, which is why theres a bunch of random mayo on one half . I've had many tofu banh mis before, but I've never had a fried tofu banh mi, so this was new to me. It was really good! The portion size is great as well. I ended up eating half in one sitting and the other half later on in the day, and it was still good! The menu also has a variety of options, including vegetarian options. They also have drinks as well, which I didn't try yet, but I definitely will next time. They also have those really good Hawaiian chips, which I also purchased, I got the barbecue flavour. Down to the customer service, the atmosphere, and the food, everything is amazing. I definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
You know, even though the idea of a shop serving both boba and banh mi isn't all that new, I don't think I've ever come across one that's been able to do both well. Good banh mi and mediocre boba? Quite a few. Good boba with underwhelming banh mi? Plenty of those too. So, after hearing some good things about b&b and deciding to check them out, I was equal parts hopeful and skeptical about what they had to offer. Now, after having made several trips here? Yeah, you could say I've become quite a fan! From the outside, b&b isn't much to look at...in a literal sense. I've always thought the likes of Saigon Sandwich and Que Huong are small, but b&b is even smaller - just enough space for one person to order and another to check out the menu. And boy is there a lot of good stuff to check out - about a half dozen types of banh mis with more Asian than pure Vietnamese flavors, a handful of rice bowls, and two dozen varieties of milk teas, coffees, fruit teas, and drinks. You can also order online directly with b&b, though, it doesn't seem like all of their options are on there. -- BULGOGI BEEF BANH MI - Housemade, Cola Marinated Rib Eye, Gochujang Aioli, Kimchi, Pickled Carrots, Cilantro, Cucumbers, and Jalapeno...$10.75 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/b-and-b-banh-mi-and-boba-san-francisco?select=HVKpi5ZeGG1UhYq7HyIk9w) I was super excited for this and it delivered! The beef was tender and packed with flavor. I also liked how there was just a bit of heat from the gochujang aioli and some sourness from the kimchi. -- FIVE SPICED CHICKEN BANH MI - Housemade Five Spiced Roasted Chicken, B&B Special Soy, Pickled Carrots, Cilantro, Cucumbers, and Jalapenos...$10.25 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/b-and-b-banh-mi-and-boba-san-francisco?select=2AYTM3kw78npBU4F2v0PdQ) Although this wasn't horrible, it wasn't very interesting either. The chicken was moist, and there was a good amount of it, but it needed more five spice and/or soy, as it felt like it was light on seasoning. -- PORK BELLY BANH MI - Juicy, Slow Cooked Pork Belly, Garlic Mint Aioli, Pickled Carrots, Cilantro, Cucumbers, and Jalapenos...$10.50 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/b-and-b-banh-mi-and-boba-san-francisco?select=QpjuZL2z2DeMsJbQfAQTsg) I was a little worried about how fatty this would be, but this was great! The pork belly was juicy, not super fatty, and oh so delicious, especially with the aioli! Would definitely get this again! -- SLOW ROASTED PORK BANH MI - House-Roasted Pork, Garlic Mint Aioli, Pickled Carrots, Cilantro, Cucumbers, and Jalapenos...$10.50 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/b-and-b-banh-mi-and-boba-san-francisco?select=HEOX5d-6IAqPuWe-IG9p8A) All in all, this was pretty solid, though it did have some flaws. While a couple of pieces of pork were a little dry, the marinade/sauce on it was flavorful and complemented well by the garlic mint aioli too! -- B&B SPECIAL COMBO - House Roasted Pork, Fancy Pork Loaf, Head cheese, Pate, B&B Soy Sauce, Pickled Carrots, Cilantro, Cucumbers, and Jalapeno...$10.5 (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/b-and-b-banh-mi-and-boba-san-francisco?select=rNW1q5i3v8MnbNwNT-bFLQ) As a whole, this was wasn't too shabby - it had a lot of meat and slathered with pate. However, I couldn't taste much of the pork loaf nor the head cheese and some of the roast pork was also dry (though the pate helped). -- BLACK MILK TEA - Loose Leaf Black Tea with Milk (50% sweet)...$5 (Regular) (n/a) Sorry, forgot to take a photo, but I can assure you that other folks have posted photos of it...and that it was pretty decent. The taste of the tea could've been stronger, but the sweetness and creaminess was just right. -- HONG KONG MILK TEA - Black Tea with Sweetened Condensed Milk (50% sweet)...$5 (Regular) (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/b-and-b-banh-mi-and-boba-san-francisco?select=9qzg-ewpIPy5NifBTIH7Jw) The black tea tasted the same, but I thought the drink as a whole tasted better. Admittedly, the condensed milk tea has a lot to do with it, but I also liked how it reminded me of the milk teas I had as a kid. -- STRAWBERRY MILK TEA - Black Milk Tea with Strawberry Puree (50% sweet)...$5 (Regular) (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/b-and-b-banh-mi-and-boba-san-francisco?select=4St6QIRCo0Ay3MD-Ptm7tQ) I think I found my new favorite milk tea! Impressively, the puree added a ton of flavor without overshadowing the black tea. Granted, it also added some sweetness, so 25% might be the way to go. Compared to other banh mi joints out there, including my usual spots, b&b is undeniably more expensive, but you do get quite a bit of meat packed in and the rolls they use are terrific (so soft and crusty!). That said, I'm not sure all of them are worth coming back for (looking at you, Five Spiced Chicken Banh Mi) or if you're looking for a more traditional banh mi. For something different and the convenience of getting a delicious milk tea at the same place, though? I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Excellent and massive Bulgogi Banh Mi. The Ube Milk Tes was also good. Put it on the list!
google avatar

Yelp
Great service workers were super nice. It's a literal hole in the wall so everything's to go. The Banh Mi's were great but dam SO MANY CARROTS LOL. I like an even carrot to radish ratio.
google avatar

Carmen M.

Yelp
We ordered a couple of drinks here. Nice and refreshing. My ube/taro drink was way too sweet. I watered it down with milk and was able to drink it. The man who served us was very nice and waited patiently as we went over the menu.
google avatar

Janessa M.

Yelp
My first time trying this spot and I ordered their bulgogi beef banh mi. It was packed with lots of meat and pickled vegetables. The bulgogi beef was flavorful and has a little kick in it with the jalapeños and kimchi. The staff were friendly, but they were a bit slow on making my banh mi. This spot is very small, it's a good spot for to-go orders.
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Ordered the ube taro milk and added (vietnamese coffee) and boba! The taro milk was super creamy and delicious on its own - I added the coffee for the caffeine, however, it was overpowering the ube flavor quite a bit when mixed in, so I would get it without coffee next time.

Yelp
This little shop has the best of both worlds - banh mi AND boba! You have to try the Special Combo! I also love how generous this place is with stuffing each banh mi. *b&b Special Combo *Bulgogi Beef *Slow-Roasted Pork *Vietnamese Iced Coffee *Matcha Latte *Lychee Love

Yelp
Date: Sunday, November 6th, 2022 Time Ordered: around 1pm Time Arrived: around 1:53pm How: DoorDash What: Lunch delivery *5 Spiced: House-made 5 spiced roasted chicken, B&B special soy, pickled carrots, cilantro, cucumbers, and jalapeños, add pate ($12.25) *B&B Special Combo: Headcheese not available. House roasted pork, fancy pork loaf, pate, B&B special soy, pickled carrots, cilantro, cucumbers, and jalapeños, pate on side ($12.50) *Black Iced Tea 24 Oz ($6): No Sugar, Less Ice, Honey Boba (+$0.50), Panda Boba (+$0.75) I wanted a Vietnamese sandwich and boba. Found b&b on DoorDash and decided to give them a shot. I got the chicken banh mi while the hubby got the combo. My chicken was good. Stuffed with lots of meat and veggies and they added pate at no extra cost. For the hubby, he hates pate, so we were a little bummed when it was on his sandwich. Complained to DoorDash and they credited us a few dollars. I ended up deconstructing the sando so he could eat it. One thing to note, I did try just the roast pork and it didn't have much flavor, so the rest of the meats definitely helped. The tea was fine. Not as strong as I like for a black tea, but still pretty decent. I wasn't sure what panda boba was, but it's just a combo of black and white balls in case anyone was wondering as well. Not a bad spot if craving both boba and a banh mi. Tho I may double dash my order next time as I wasn't that impressed with their boba tea.
google avatar

Irene L.

Yelp
When you walk into the shop, the place is very simple with a counter and kitchen in back. You can see them making the banh mi. The sandwiches are pretty good size. It has a good amount of meat and vegetables. I usually order the b&b combo which has house made slow roasted pork, fancy pork, head cheese, Pate, Mayo, veggies, soy sauce. It is delicious. I also had a drink which was the Black Milk Tea with boba which was also good because the boba was chewy. The service was good, the person that took my order was friendly. He answered any questions I had about my order. I would definitely come back for their banh mi and drinks.

Yelp
This bahn mi spot is awesome. The employees are always super friendly and take the time to say hi every time I walk in--no matter how busy. The bahn mis are also incredible. I think I've tried them all at this point and have yet to be disappointed. They really layer on the ingredients and the bahn mis are always warm. Excellent value for the cost. I highly recommend this local spot!

Yelp
I live a few blocks away from this place and have been coming here for the past year and a half or so-- their sandwiches and boba teas are consistently excellent and flavorful. I usually get the bulgogi beef with a jasmine milk tea and my fiancé gets one of their pork sandwiches (there are several) and the hong kong milk tea and they never disappoint! Albert is also super nice and makes a point to remember our names when we come in. Really great spot!

Yelp
Excellent food. You can tell it's prepared with care and it tasted healthy. Delicious! Owner and his wife are very nice too. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
20 min wait for two sandwiches, after we order. I watch them as amateurs running out of ingredients and saying we are out of sandwiches. How do they stay open running a business like this..

Marvin L.

Yelp
So let me start with the fact that for my first time being there, they ran out of chicken; womp womp, But that did not stop them from getting my full honest review. I started with the roasted pork and I requested to have teriyaki since there was no chicken; he said I was first ever to request that and honestly I'm coming back every time for that specific order. I also ordered a combo and that did not disappoint what so ever. 10/10 from me, can't wait to try the chicken :)
google avatar

Sherri W.

Yelp
A little disappointed that they ran out of French bread for a sandwich & boba. So unfortunately I didn't try anything.

Yelp
I love banh mi, and was excited to check out Banh Mi & Boba when I was up in San Francisco recently. Since I wasn't able to get through and place a phone order, I went ahead and ordered on their website (it seemed like the prices were the same as ordering in person). It was a 35 minute wait for an order placed at 11:40pm on a Saturday, so place your orders earlier to avoid having to wait. Make sure to check-in on Yelp if ordering a milk tea for a free topping or upgrade! They have a small storefront, and there was a table set up in the doorway- you check in at the table and they grab your order for you. My order was ready when I arrived, and I tried: -Bulgogi Beef (Cola Marinated Rib Eye, Gochujang Aioli, Kimchi, $9.75, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=dz-zEWYMa2lshdyMxHyszQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): I was really looking forward to trying this, but the bulgogi beef was really salty. It didn't have the sweetness I've liked in other version of bulgogi beef, and it could've been an off day. The kimchi wasn't very flavorful, and I couldn't taste the aioli at all- skip! -B&B Classic (House Roasted Pork, Fancy Pork Loaf, Headcheese, Pate, b&b Special Soy, $9.50, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=_R4VzxLbP6RBaIXzPnqpfw&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Pretty good, and much better than the bulgogi; however, I thought their pate was just ok and not very flavorful (I like pate with a lot of pepper in it). Their baguette bread was just ok, and a little too chewy (I prefer an airier baguette), and I wished their pickled vegetables had a little more tang. I am appreciative they didn't skimp on the meat for the sandwiches. They didn't have roasted pork belly that day, and I would be interested in giving that a try if in the area. They did not have any seating available (indoors or outdoors). All staff were wearing masks despite the mandate being lifted, and they had hand sanitizer. Parking was surprisingly available on this side of Irving Street, and they had a couple of spots open in front of their store.

Yelp
This place used to be better and more generous. Now it's just bad. The first foul is the price - It's over $10 for a sandwich after tax (we ordered the special sandwich) which puts it at over 2x the price of city favorites such as Saigon Sandwich. Next up, the portioning. They were so stingy with the meats in the sandwich during my January 2022 visit. I'm pretty sure Saigon Sandwich gives 2-3x the amount of meat at half the price point. The quality and flavor of the sandwich was also lacking. There was basically no pate, and the meats were not as flavorful as expected. Definitely is not up to par with the competition in the bay area. It also quoted a 50 minute wait for pickup to make three sandwiches, and they were not busy at the time. High prices with small portion sizes and low food quality does not equate to a good experience. I won't be returning here in the future and I recommend finding an alternative if you're craving authentic banh mi.

Yelp
A cute place with a wide variety of novel offerings. Interior was small and clean, and the staff were very friendly. The sandwich and drinks were good, but nothing extraordinary - as were the prices. I'd visit again if in the area!

Yelp
We were out on a long hike and, passing by, stopped in for a pork banh mi and so glad we did. We both thought the portions were very generous, the pork tender and juicy and, most importantly, they got the bread right. Topped with fresh carrots and other veg, it was a tasty and well balanced bite. We split a sandwich and it was plenty for us. My new favorite banh mi place in SF. Last two things ... the customer service was just great and the place was spotless and clean. Highly recommend. Hoping to try their rice bowls and bulgogi banh mi next time we stop in. This business is worth patronizing.

Yelp
Our favorite Banh Mi place in the city. My favorite is the slow roast pork and the chicken. They also have delicious Boba drinks that's not overly sweet. Get to know the people there because they are lovely :)

Yelp
Tofu sandwich was just ok. I prefer Bunn Mi in the Richmond by a wide margin. B&B's wasn't very flavorful at all. Staff was 5/5 stars though. Warm, friendly, and a pleasure to talk to, professional yet informal in the nicest way.

Yelp
Delicious banh mi with generous portions! The owner is super friendly, and this is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Got a B&B special today. No jalapeños. While walking back to my car, I think my hand was too hot, I think I was holding it the wrong way and it melted the pate. Cuz it was a hot mess when I opened my sandwich. But none the less, it was still good!!! I ate the whole thing in my car while waiting for niece within 15 mins. And they made a new menu board. Check out photo attach!

Yelp
I searched for boba and passed by this place because it didn't have hot drinks which is usually what I order when I'm at boba places. However, this day I was looking for some lunch so I decided to get a pork Banh mi. The owners Albert and Joanna were super friendly and we were talking about the space inside didn't allow for a machine that can make hot drinks. I felt understanding of their situation. I ordered the punch which was something citrusy and unique. 30% sweet (my usual when it comes to sweetness) and no ice. They are a little bit light handed on the sugar so I think 50% might have been ok too. I got my order within a couple of minutes. The sandwich was a good size for me and the sauce made it very tasty. The pork belly was also tender. I don't come by this area too often, but I would come back again. Go support them!

Yelp
Their food is beyond A+, BUT, give yourself 75 minutes for pick up. Every time I think I order with AMPLE time I ALWAYS have to wait. My recommendation is to turn off your online ordering. It just screws you up. If your food wasn't so good this review would be zero stars. Please get it together, your food deserves better.

Yelp
Fast service, good food & boba. Great take out spot. I got the combination pork sandwich. The bread was fresh, crunchy on the outside, soft & fluffy on the inside. It was a large sandwich with lots of filling. The meats & pâté was delicious & the veggies gives it the right balance to the flavors of the meats & pâté. Also ordered the Ube boba with almond milk. It was yummy with the signature nutty vanilla-like flavor of the ube. The boba was soft & chewy. This will be the go to spot for bahn mi whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
We came here on a Friday (10/9/20) around 1:20pm. There was street metered parking available. The menu was small but had drinks and banh mi sandwiches. We ordered the Bulgogi Beef ($8.75) and the b&b Special Combo ($8.50) along with 16oz Ube Taro Milk ($4) with boba ($0.50) and a 24oz Jasmine Milk Tea ($5) with boba ($0.50). The Bulgogi Beef banh Mi was okay to me and the kim chi in it was unexpected. The b&b Special Combo was not bad to me. I would choose the Bulgogi Beef between the two. Both drinks tasted good to me and I would recommend either one of them. I thought this place was not bad for boba and banh mi sandwiches.

Yelp
I got the five spice chicken bahn mi and Vietnamese iced coffee. Five spice chicken bahn mi: the chicken and veggies were seasoned well, but I would have liked more of them since the bread was quite thick. Not sure if I'd order bahn mi from here again given the price and the amount of meat/veggies given. Vietnamese iced coffee: I would advise you adjust the sweetness, keeping in mind it has sweet condensed milk! I got 30% sweetness, but I would get 0% next time because it was overly sweet for me! Overall worth the try!

Yelp
About 2 visits pre-covid and 3? visits during covid. My overall rating is 3 stars. I noticed the best service is when the owner is there. I remember him being there at least 2 of my visits and I notice great customer service. Food is good. There's pros and cons. $9 for a sandwich is pricey, but the portion is good! The flavor is good, but I always feel like there is something missing.. unsure what though. My sister and dad commented on the quality of the bread so .. bread is good! I usually order the combination and had the bulgogi once- both good. The struggle/confusion is ordering & the long wait for a sandwich... They are not taking phone orders. Before I knew that, I tried calling and I eventually just had to order in person and waited 30+ minutes there. Now, I see it on Yelp... sigh... I went another time and it seems you have to order online because the guy directed me through the QR code. My dad went on another day and was able to order in-person (thank god because he wouldn't have known how to order online). It's just a little confusing. TO ORDER: https://ordering.app/bbcafe/ I didnt see any service fees with this site compared ubereats.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended, so during our Tuesday Therapy sessions earlier this year in July, we came here to get some Bánh Mì with my friends. The front door was wide open and there were people working inside. We waited outside the front door for a good minute until they told us they were closed. Awkward..so had to go to plan B. I really wanted to try their Bánh Mì so later on that week, Friday, July 17, 2020, after dropping off my son at DC, I drove here for lunch and found parking outside on Irving St. I saw some customers waiting outside and asked them if they were in line. They said they had already placed their orders and were just waiting. So I waited at the front door (where they placed two stools as a barricade and the menu on top) until a nice young lady took my order. She wore a mask and gloves adhering to the current guidelines. I just ordered one Bulgogi Beef ($8.75) and noticed they were very busy and appeared to be backed-up. However, there were three people working inside so I calculated maybe a half hour wait, which I prepared for. After placing my order, I stood outside waiting while maintaining social distancing with the rest of the customers. There were other customers who would politely ask them the status of their orders, and this is were it got interesting. One customer was told that they forgot one of her order and she couldn't wait any longer. She said that she texted her boyfriend to stand in her place and then left. Several customers, who were waiting in front of me, also started asking on the status of their orders. But most of the customers were polite and understanding. Then the parade of people inquiring about theirs became repetitive. Some had arrived obviously ordering online and where there to pick-up; a couple were delivery drivers. It became apparent that I wasn't getting to get mine after 30 minutes. I didn't get it after 40 minutes either. I asked the guy who was in front of me how long he'd been waiting, and he replied that it's almost an hour now. However, he said that the food and drinks are good, it's just that they are busy. He added that he usually orders once or twice and week and the wait time has been longer due to the current situation. I can empathize and completely understand. However, there were three people working inside and I just wondered how efficiently they were working. I finally received my order after 55 minutes of waiting. This is the longest I had to wait for one single piece of Bánh Mì. Prior to this, after waiting approximately 35 minutes, the Asian male asked me what my order was and I told him my order and he confirmed and stated, "It should be coming right up." He said this a couple of times. Please do not say that when it's not coming right up. You gave me an expectation that you did not meet, and waiting for that long for one piece of Bánh Mì is just too long. Again, I understand that you were busy and were inundated with orders, plus you're working under difficult circumstances. If you would've said, "It would take a while" then I would have been better informed as I had to alter some plans, which just created a domino effect throughout the rest of my day. However, after all of this, I'll be fair and give them 3 star rating as their Bánh Mì is indeed delicious. I'd like to return again and try their other creations, but I'll be more prepared the next time around or maybe even go there after this pandemic is over. I wish you the best of luck...I really do and hope you can streamline the process. #YelpChallenge2020 review No. 22

Yelp
Solid banh mi place in inner sunset! It's a small place so you might miss it, but it's worth trying out! The banh mi I got was a decent size and had plenty of filling inside (lots of meat!). I got the combination special banh mi and really enjoyed it - the only thing I'll say is that it's definitely on the pricier side for banh mi, but it's understandable given the location (SF rent ). I also wish they would have put more pâté! I love that stuff! Next time I will ask - the workers are super accommodating and nice (asked for no cilantro and they remembered!) Will be coming more often and can't wait to try their other sandwiches!

Yelp
This is a MUST-EAT-AT spot for tourists and GO-TO place for SF natives! The 5-spice Chicken bahn mi is YUMMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYY! Save yourself some calories and get your Boba with almond milk and honey. Albert, the owner, and his staff are friendly and AWESOME! This is a very cute little store so you'll miss it if you blink. Line is out the door so order ahead!
