20 Iconic Dishes That Define Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"Mi Colombia takes the metaphorical sombrero vueltiao for being the best Colombian restaurant in Miami. And it’s also responsible for the best bandeja paisa. The entire circumference of the oblong plate is filled with carne asada, chicharron, fried plantains, a fried egg, and a bright green avocado wedge. The most remarkable thing, though, is that it costs less than four gallons of gas, which is both glorious and a painful reminder of how affordable Miami used to be." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

The food was amazing. Natalia was awesome and made the whole experience amazing. I had the churrasco with salad, platano maduros, yuca con mojo y papa croilla that was very delicious. My girlfriend ordered the chicken with mushroom sauce and shrimp that she absolutely loved. We also really enjoyed the stuffed platanos with shredded beef and shredded chicken and guacamole. The sangria was good also, only thing is it had different fruit than what I'm used to.

If ever there was a place where flavor and hospitality joined forces to conquer the galaxy, Bandeja Paisa Restaurant would be that culinary rebel base! From the moment you walk in, the cheerful Colombian décor sets the tone — colorful murals, witty ceiling quotes (“Si lo puedes soñar, lo puedes hacer”), and good vibes that would make even a grumpy Sith crack a smile. 🪄 The Service: Out of this world! The staff moved faster than a hyperdrive upgrade and smiled brighter than twin suns. Every guest was treated like family — or at least a well-fed Jedi. 🍽️ The Food: Each dish looked like it was plated for the Galactic Senate! The Paisa Burger con Chicharrón was an absolute masterpiece — a towering burger with layers of ham, bacon, and cheese, crowned with crispy chicharrón and a sausage spear worthy of a lightsaber duel. Served with fries, guacamole, and enough flavor to make the Force tremble. The rice dish (loaded with chorizo, chicken, veggies, and topped with avocado and sweet plantains) was a tropical explosion of color and taste — pure edible art! 💡 Bonus Points: Menus are displayed on sleek tablets, with bilingual descriptions (Spanish & English) — super helpful for off-world travelers still learning the local dialects. 🌟 Final Verdict: Strong with the flavor, this place is. A hidden gem in the Miami system that turns hunger into harmony. Five shining stars across the galaxy for food, service, and pure heart. Definitely saving this one in my favorites. 🌠

Bandeja Paisa was a wonderful place to end our family trip. Cielo and the rest of the staff were extremely accommodating for our party of 15 (no reservation either). The food and service were both high quality. The paisa arepa (pictured) was filling and tasty. Food came out quick. While we waited we were given consome de pollo which was so rich in flavor. I rarely do any reviews but the experience we had was truly great :).

5 Star place, all the way around! Our server, Jennifer, was fantastic!!! She was kind, efficient, and such a sweetheart. She made great menu recommendations. The food was out of this world. We had the Bandeja Paisa and the Mega Perro. I also ordered an avocado salad because, why not? Everything was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and extremely. We had two icy, cold lime-aides to drink, and they were the perfect balance of sweet and sour. They even gave us free mini cheesecake bites for dessert! The restaurant is very clean, bathrooms are spotless. All the staff is very friendly and helpful-and the decor is beautiful. We would definitely recommend this place 100 times over.

Customer service was great, they greet you with a big smile and welcome you in. I do not speak Spanish very well (I’m Asian) and I informed the waitress, she chuckled and told me she didn’t speak English very well either but we were able to communicate just fine. The limonada is a must try. It’s so sweet and refreshing but yet has a little twang to it. The restaurant is super cozy and very well decorated. They start you off with a nice hot cup of chicken soup, which was such a delightful starter. I can’t remember what the name of the dish I got was but I was going for something super authentic/home made meal and this hit the spot. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

This was probably the best food I’ve ever eaten maybe in my entire life. Natalia was extremely friendly and professional and made sure we had a great experience. We drove over an hour to come here and I will 100% take that drive again probably 30 more times!! Juan was also great and helped translate for me as I speak English. I loved the atmosphere and good vibes throughout the whole restaurant. Can’t wait to come back!
