Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden on Rainey Street boasts an expansive outdoor patio teeming with over 200 taps and a menu of mouthwatering sausages, making it the go-to spot for lively gatherings and weekend brunches with friends.
"With more than 200 beers on draft, Banger’s on Rainey Street boasts one of the largest tap lists in the state, and definitely the largest in Austin. There are multiple buildings with multiple levels and menus, making it almost feel more like a compound than a single restaurant these days. But with a large outdoor beer garden and live music on the weekends, it’s a great place to enjoy some housemade bratwurst and pretzels." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion
"There aren’t a lot of things that are more enticing than sausage and craft beer. That is exactly what awaits at this Downtown beer garden and restaurant, which boasts the largest tap wall in Austin (now 207, thanks to its expansion). This converted house has ample outdoor seating where live music happens regularly, and the wall behind the bar holding all those taps is a mood." - Nadia Chaudhury
"With over 200 taps of beer, cider, and mead and a massive outdoor patio, this Downtown beer garden and restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike. It serves a variety of sausages, including ones made with duck and mushrooms, and has a popular brunch that includes one-liter mimosas. There’s a huge outdoor dining area where folks congregate and bands play, as well as a covered patio. Inside is mostly reserved for the standing room only bar and fridges to store sausage. Takeout orders can be placed online." - Erin Russell
"The Rainey Street bar and beer garden has a couple of options for event spaces, but the completely private basement can hold up to 100 seated guests and is the only place in the restaurant that serves liquor. Sample the cocktail menu, marvel at the custom wallpaper, and enjoy some sausages." - Erin Russell, Nadia Chaudhury
"At Banger’s, bigger is better. That translates to one of the largest patios in Austin, mimosas served by the liter, and a tap wall with over 200 beers on draft. Saturday afternoons they’re basically pouring enough beer to fill a small swimming pool. This is Bachelor Party Central, but unlike a lot of spots that serve primarily as a venue for rowdy parties, the food is actually good here. Order some classic German drinking foods—like bratwurst and giant pretzels—or forego tradition and grab some poutine and fried cheese curds. Either way, you’ll be leaving with a good time and plenty of fuel for the rest of the night. " - raphael brion, nicolai mccrary
