Excellent value, the combo sets are pretty delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant is small and dated, but it is well kept up. The fresh mango with sweet rice dessert is fantastic!!

Tasty thai foods with valued prices and good service. This Thai restaurant has operated than ten years. Quality you can trust.

I’m a Berkeley native and I’ve been coming to this place for years, their customer service is top notch.. my go to is the Duck noodle bowl, duck is roasted to perfection, the noodles are come in a sauce that’s not spicy but sweet and it pairs well with the duck and romaine lettus. Love this place, it never disappoints 😊

Bangkok Thai Cuisine: A Delicious Trip to Thailand I recently had a fantastic meal at Bangkok Thai Cuisine, and it was a delightful trip to Thailand without leaving town! The Pad Thai was a real standout. It wasn't just delicious, it was perfectly balanced. The sweet, savory, and just a hint of spice all played together beautifully. Every bite was a flavor party in my mouth! The veggie rolls were another winner. They were incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. The crispy lettuce gave way to a delightful filling making for a satisfying and light starter. Overall, Bangkok Thai Cuisine impressed me. The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic-tasting. While I can't speak to the entire menu, both the Pad Thai and veggie rolls were fantastic. If you're looking for a delicious and affordable Thai dining experience, I highly recommend giving them a try!

Google
This place is my go to for thai food! Always delicious, consistent, affordable and prompt with service! They are my top place to go to for pad se-ew in particular, its super flavorful and tasty! Whenever we've done large lunch orders for the office, everything has always been packaged with care, has always been correct and has always been super easy to order thanks to their online site. They've even been incredibly kind and thrown in thai tea's for everyone, which was super appreciated. Unlike a lot of the restaurants in Berkeley, I also love dining in here the tables are spaced out enough that you can actually have a good conversation with friends and not have to worry about things being too noisy, or tables too close. Its also great for grabbing a bite alone, and working or reading a book.

Google
Great food, excellent service, nice atmosphere. Went here for my birthday this past week and had a great time. Highly recommend the duck curry(yellow), pad see ew and pad thai. We also had the fresh spring rolls with prawns that were amazing! We will be back

We love Bangkok Thai Cuisine! They are so friendly and accommodating in making personal adjustments to orders based on a person’s dietary needs. The food is excellent as is their Coconut Ice Cream 😊

Google
This was a lovely discovery, we had the pork pad Thai and the tofu pad Thai, however I was curious to try the Thai gravy in one of their dishes. Service was excellent, very friendly and nice folks. I am definitely coming back here, I would love to try other dishes in a group set up.

Yelp
Quiet on a weekday around 7pm - plenty of street parking with meters that are free after 6 pm. The staff are polite, prompt and attentive. I ordered a green curry with duck and sticky rice ($3) - when I asked for green curry, I am asking for all the usual ingredients that go with it + duck as my protein. Instead what I received was the green version of a duck red curry with pineapple and bell peppers, which I can still accept. What was unacceptable was that both the pineapple and duck tasted like it has gone bad - the duck was very salty, almost like the beginning stage of cured duck. The sticky rice was okay. My total ~$24 before tax.

Yelp
It's hard to spend less than $20 per person anywhere on lunch these days, but Bangkok Thai seriously gives you the most bang for your buck for less than $15, and I am so lucky to work nearby. Their menu is extensive with lots of options for various diets, plus they have an online ordering system which is great for group ordering. They also have a pretty broad dessert menu that includes three different types of ice cream (coconut, green tea, Thai tea) and roti. Although I have quite the sweet tooth, I do think their Thai iced tea and and coffee are too sugary, but that doesn't stop me from going regularly.

Yelp
Nice pad see ew (not dry, not oily) and nice ambience. They have a reasonably priced lunch special, and I'm excited to try the duck next time I go. There are big windows, and I enjoy eating my food and watching the scenery outside. Staff are nice.

Yelp
This is the family's "go to" Thai restaurant. They are consistently good, friendly, and with lots of options. Our family have three different levels of Thai spicy tolerance and Bangkok Thai hits them all. Appetizers are traditional and very good. My opinion is their curries are their specialties. Bangkok Thai is a very good Thai restaurant!

Yelp
This is my new favorite Thai place. They had quick service (takeout), delicious food, and reasonable portion sizes. So glad I gave it a try! Honestly, someone's description of the fried potato drew me in. Maybe I was just hungry, but I had to have them. They were hot, crispy yet tender, and so good, they did not disappoint. I was eating them so quickly I didn't even notice the dipping sauce until my husband pointed it out. We also had the pad see ew and chicken larb, and altogether it was enough food to last for 1.5 meals for two of us. (Easily over two meals for me alone, but alas) The food was ready in less than twenty minutes from when I placed my online order and since I was running an errand at target at the time it was easy to cross the street and pick it up before heading home. My only negative remark is that it's going to be hard to branch out since I just want to come back and eat here.

Yelp
I have been here a few times usually getting a Pad Thai with either beef or tofu or the Pad See Ew also with either beef or tofu. Both taste excellent! The noodles are thick and tasty, while the beef has always been chewy but not too difficult and tofu has been firm and consistent. Both dishes are flavorful and make me full. Besides the food, the service is friendly and nice. The server greets you right away when entering and the times I have been there it hasn't been that busy so I was seated right away. The restaurant has nice decor and an inviting atmosphere, so it's a good spot to eat with family and friends or a place to bring a date. The space is big with plenty of seating, so there shouldn't be an issue getting a seat most nights. Honestly with how good the food is, the great ambiance and convenient location (right on University Ave across the Target) I'm surprised it hasn't been busier. Don't know about parking though (I usually walk or take public transit). Bangkok Thai is a great place to get Thai food.

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing! The service is very friendly and prompt! The prices are reasonable! The food is delicious and we always overeat because it's just that good! We have two picky eaters, and they love this place. We get the chicken satay with sticky rice, the bbq pork, the pad see ew, red and yellow curry, and the deep fried spicy fish (seriously, so good)! Don't forget to get the mango sticky rice for dessert! This place is a gem! This is the best Thai food we've found!

Yelp
I placed an order via the phone for dinner takeout of red curry, mild, with tofu. I hesitated with whether to rate this a 3 or a 4 since on one hand it turned out to be rather pricey for a dish that doesn't come with rice, but they were also generous in heaping it full of vegetables so if you like your vegetables, this would be a good choice. Although the food was fine quality wise, it did not necessarily stand out in a way that would make me choose coming here over cheaper options for similar dishes. However, it would probably still be more worthwhile to come at lunchtime for their lunch specials.

Yelp
There seems to have been an improvement in the quality of the food over the past couple of years. I'm not certain if it's new ownership or they've hired a new chef who knows Thai food. It's been consistently good lately. I ordered the pumpkin curry this evening and was bit surprised at the consistency when I opened the container. I thought maybe I'd ordered a soup and not a 'stew-like' curry. However, the flavor was spot on and I'm happy it wasn't super heavy and saucy. Both the food and the service are wonderful and I'm happy to support this local business. And as a side note, I ordered all veg / vegan and they offered tofu as the alternate protein.

Yelp
Excellent rice! Overall, both my daughter and I enjoyed this place. The food had a little bit too much coconut for us, but I think that is a personal preference. We know there is coconut milk in pretty much all of Thai cuisine curry but in some the flavor is more pronounced than others. This time the coconut flavor was definitely more pronounced than in other places we've been to. But they give hearty helpings for the price and the flavor was spot on. FOOD: We ordered red curry, yellow curry, and pad thai. All were good but like I said for us the coconut flavor was a little bit too pronounced. We were impressed with how much chicken they put in. Definitely get your money's worth! The pad thai was also good but could use a bit more sauce. Overall though good! And the rice was awesome! SERVICE: weird they didn't do delivery at lunch but they do at dinner. They are open for lunch so why not? Everything was packaged nicely and they really stuffed every container full . COST: Very reasonable considering how much food you get!

Yelp
My friends and I came in near closing time and the staff was still really sweet and attentive to us. The food came out pretty quickly and it was good--not outstanding but not bad either. I would definitely come back again as a casual hang out with friends.

Yelp
Do you ever eat somewhere, and after trying just a bite, want to try everything on the menu? That's what Bangkok Thai does for me. I don't know how they do it. But they make the most incredible Crispy Sweet Potato Appetizer. I'm not sure of the process, but somehow the potato is both fluffy and crispy. Its almost impossible to not just eat these in the car before you get back home from takeout. Also, I love a good Thai peanut sauce, and this place by far makes the best. Their Pra-Ram tofu, incredible! I want to put that peanut sauce on everything. And or dip everything in it. This dish just makes me so happy. I use to eat here all the time when I lived in the Bay Area. And sadly it has been years since I've been back. But coming back recently ... the food is just as good as I remember it. Please eat here.

Yelp
I ordered the yellow curry with chicken via delivery app. The service was prompt and the quality was good - not exceptional. I would order this again because the flavor was what I expected. I will admit the curry was not as hearty or filling as other local Thai options. Their Thai tea was very tasty though!

Yelp
Good food and excellent value for when you want to have a big meal with family. Particularly enjoyed the pad see ew and golden bags.

W V.

Yelp
The Pad Thai was disgustingly oily and sweet. The room was not heated and it was a cold day, which made for a unpleasant dining experience. The place is old, tired and worn. Needs a new chef and look. You can do a lot better elsewhere.

Sean A.

Yelp
Solid Thai food in a nondescript locale. Some of the best chairs I've ever sat in. You can't go wrong with the spicy eggplant or drunken noodle.

Yelp
Great service and food! We ordered the Mango Salad, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Salmon Curry (the curry does not come with rice, so we also ordered a bowl of rice). The Mango Salad was great, but the "mild" was a bit spicier than I had anticipated. Both the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were delicious, and the Salmon Curry had a great flavor. The salmon was cooked just right (very tender), but we thought that the green beans in the curry were unneeded. The crunchiness of the green beans did not go too well in the dish, and the dish as a whole would have been better if the beans were replaced with some softer vegetable. The green beans just added a striking texture, but the taste of the dish was great. Overall, I thought that the flavors of all dishes were on point. I'd visit again, and I'm glad to have found another good Thai restaurant option in Berkeley!

Yelp
I am so happy I found this place. It is full of delicious and healthy food options. The owner is beautiful inside and out and all the service was amazing. The food was excellent and I loved it so much.

Yelp
I had the Pad Thai. It was ok. My friend said he's been going to this restaurant for years. The service was just right. I enjoyed the colorful ambiance. I intend to return to try more of the menu. Prices seemed reasonable.

Yelp
I stopped my yesterday for dinner and my wife and I ordered the duck curry and the fried chicken over fried rice. Of the two entrees, the duck curry was far superior: the boneless duck was nice and tender, and the curry was full of spices and had just the right amount of heat. The fried rice on the other hand tasted a bit dry and the chicken was a bit over cooked as well, no doubt due to how thin the chicken cutlet was. I would for sure come back here again for the duck curry. Portion sizes are large enough where one entree can last me two meals.

Yelp
Love this spot, always my Go-To Thai food spot in Berkeley. The taste is SO authentic and the portions are more than enough. I couldn't imagine going to another place. I'm so happy they're open for indoor dining again. Staff wears masks, hand sanitizer on tables, the option of contactless menu!

Yelp
Always great food and great service. We order take out from here at least 1x a week. Our favorites are Larb Gai, Tom Kha Gai, eggplant tofu, and green curry

Yelp
It was awesome! The restaurant is family run, and the service was super nice and friendly, and the food was really good! The ambiance was really calming, and the background was really peaceful.

Yelp
This is a delightful little joint close the major intersection of Shattuck and University. I've been coming here for about 20 years. In fact, I believe I went here the week it opened way back when. I have always ordered the same thing... chicken satay rice plate with extra peanuts and extra peanut sauce. I'm not sure what they put on the chicken satay sticks, but they come out a beautiful yellow. And they have nice little burn marks from the grill. It comes with a little salad and a big heaping of rice. Consistent. Delicious. Affordable. Pretty much the perfect lunch joint.

Yelp
I loved this place forever, and have been a supporter of the restaurant even more so during pandemic BUT now i can't support a restaurant that either has a hair in the food or makes my food spicy even though it's specified no spice or mild. I walked away already even though they said they would fix the order the next day. I didn't go back. BUT I went back last night bc my mom wanted their pumpkin curry. SO I took a chance and I ordered food for my family as well Lo and behold my daughter opens her seafood curry and goes to take a scoop up with the spoon and out comes a longish orangey blondey hair. No one in the family has orangey blondey hair. I can't do it any more.

Yelp
It's good authentic thai food and a good late night food spot after drinking in downtown Berkeley.
google avatar

Yelp
We went here last night on 12/21/2022 for a company meal and my co-worker sitting next to me had a roach in his Duck Soup!! I could tell by the expression and body language on the waitresses face that this wasn't the first time this had happened... so I read through some of the old reviews and I was right unfortunately. It seems like you either get raging diarrhea, hair in the food, or a roach swimming in your soup. It probably doesn't help that there is a homeless shelter half a block away with what looks like raw sewage running down the sidewalks and roaches crawling up the walls. Please college kids don't risk your life it's not worth the affordable meal

Brandon S.

Yelp
Came in with a few friends, service was underwhelming. Decided not to leave a tip based off multiple reasons. Upon leaving the waitress stopped me in front of my friends and other dinners and pressured me into leaving a tip. I was so embarrassed that I left a tip. I'll never forget what happened or go to this restaurant again. Hope the tip was worth losing three loyal customer. So unprofessional.

Yelp
Ordered dinner thru UberEats and expected better dishes. The food is decent but I've tasted better. Pad See Ew was a bit dry, it has no sauce and very little serving of shrimp (it was actually an add on price). Other dishes we ordered such as panang curry, chicken satay and basil beef were all okay but a bit bland.
google avatar

Sean B.

Yelp
I've been here twice now, food is cooked so well! The veggies still have some crunch, but not under cooked, and so much flavor. Highly recommend this place, and I'm picky.
google avatar

Andy L.

Yelp
When I'm craving fried rice, then... I really don't have a saying to back this up. Anyways, just came to Bangkok for the first time and my belly was very pleased. Bangkok has a very open feel and lots of decor to match. Their menus are giant. In fact, their lunch menus consisted of 2 alternative menus plus the dinner menu. I ended up ordering my favorite scrumptious prawn fried rice dish and it was definitely tasty.
google avatar

Ben R.

Yelp
We loved this place! They accommodated our reservation of ten and all of the food was spectacular. The whole table ordered an abundance of dishes with varying dietary needs and they were nothing but pleasant to us. This will definitely be our go-to Thai place the next time we're in Berkeley.
google avatar

Rich A.

Yelp
Top 3 Thai spots in not just Berkeley the bay. Don't @ me. Pad Thai is hit or miss but everything else I've tried has been money. Eggplant special over steamed rice is unreal, pineapple fried rice is elite as well. Don't cheat ya self, treat ya self to Bangkok Thai.
google avatar

John N.

Yelp
The Best chicken fried rice ever I give it a 99 star rating. Wish I took a picture before I made this post.Goodnight hand down my Go to spot after a long run at the Berkeley marine with my dog Tyga and my beautiful Wife.

Yelp
The food was GREAT! The yellow curry and noodle dish was by far delish. Great portions and all super tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
the food was excellent. the service was okay as they are family owned business, but I loved it. This is my second time and I'll come here again of course.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered delivery through Grubhub. Speedy delivery. However, the food was terrible. Totally flavorless and rice was burnt! Even the Thai iced tea was off. Very disappointing.
google avatar

Kimberly O.

Yelp
Went to lunch here today. It's a small place. Friendly staff. Their food is so good. Today I ordered the chicken skewers with peanut sauce. Chicken tender and juicy. The sauce was so good. They also give you a little cucumber salad soaked in a vinegar and sugar. That was good. My friend ordered the Tom Kha soup with coconut milk. I thought it was good. Not really worth 13.00 dollars. He also ordered shrimp wraps. I personally do not like them. The sauce had hoisin sauce which I do not care for. He liked them. I have tried the curries red and yellow which were amazing. I would recommend this place. Food is so good.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Man this used to be one of my favorite spots. But sadly today I found a roach in my food. I didn't take a picture because I informed them right away about it. They offered to make another plate but it might have a roach in there too, I gracefully declined. I'm really feeling sick to my stomach. Wow.
google avatar

Shaunice S.

Yelp
The food is really good, my favorite is the fried chicken over fried rice. Their Thai is really good too:)
google avatar

Yelp
My go to place for Thai food. I get the yellow curry with chicken (not spicy) and pumpkin curry with tofu. They also have good Coconut soup. This place is great at doing large to go orders as well. Very efficient and thorough :)

Kent G.

Yelp
I work in the area and during my lunch hour, this is a great place to go. Not very busy during the afternoon, great portions and tasty. They tend to get busier in the later hours, (when the sun goes down) they are open till after midnight. Love the crispy chicken with fried rice and order an egg on top. Also yellow curry with chicken (recommended by a co-worker) and the teriyaki plates. Great alternative if other places are crowded during the day.
google avatar

Brendon N.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite restaurant. I've always had good memories here and been a frequent in the past decade. Food is always wonderfully cooked, staff is kind, and the place overall just has a nice home feeling to it. I would recommend it every time.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Love this Thai restaurant! We ordered the pad see ew, chicken cashew nut, and prawns in a blanket. The service was friendly and fast! Not to mention super delicious. Can't wait to be back for lunch sometime!
google avatar

Bong N.

Yelp
This place cut corners and tries to save money by falsifying on their menu that they serve jasmine rice. Came here thinking I would have some familiar comfort food but instead they did not deliver. If you're TLC (Thai, Lao, Cambodian) or just anyone who's had fragrant jasmine before you can tell. It was over for me when the a gentleman asked me how was everything and I asked him if this was in fact jasmine rice and he said yes. P.S. I understand Thai and I heard EVERYTHING.

Yelp
Took a day trip to Berkley and stopped by here for lunch. It was around the he corner from Totland park.(recommend the park if your in the area) I am a big fan of pumpkin curry so I tend to gravitate towards that when I order. I ordered the pumpkin curry, pineapple fried rice, fried spring roll, chicken skewer, and fried banana dessert. First, the egg rolls were very good. Flaky and crispy with ample vegetables. Then onto the pumpkin curry with prawns. It was flavorful but lacked an even amount of pumpkin to prawns. Wish it had more pumpkin. Over all it was good. The dessert was fantastic. By this point I was full so only had one piece but would def order again. Only one star off for pumpkin.
