Delicious food! I ordered a tofu banh mi. They had a kiosk when you walk in to order at, no waiters. You grab a number and seat. The food was so fresh. Service was still nice even though they didn't do much table service and again the food is so good! Would only improve a little bit the table cleanliness and orderliness of the restaurant.

I have stopped here a few times, including today, for a tofu banh mi sandwich for lunch. This sandwich is so tasty and really affordable compared to most other sandwich options in Lakeview. The service is quick and friendly. I kinda forgot about this place recently, but I plan to integrate it into my weekly lunch rotation

Absolutely sucked. Paid $16 for some "General Tsos Chicken" that included baby corn, peppers, brocollli, etc on a beautiful ceramic plate but food came out on a microwavable plastic tray with nothing but bland and stale white rice.

A great find. Perfect for lunch or a casual dinner. I always try to find Banh Mi sandwiches wherever I go and was lucky this was close to where I was staying. The fried dumplings are also nice, very simple, and very satisfying. Try the lemongrass chicken banh mi.

Amazing BBQ pork bahn mi sandwich. Super fresh bread, perfectly toasted (soft but crunchy and fresh veg. Stumbled upon this place on our way home from Wrigley. Wish I had one in my hands right now. Cons: no real atmosphere, just enjoy your food and leave, also only kiosk ordering; I know it’s where everything is going but I just want to tell someone my order and give them cash/credit

Delivery order - so I can’t comment on the ambiance etc… But seriously, when the name of the sandwich is the name of your shop, The least you could do is be good at making your sandwich. Bahn-mi are traditionally filled with fresh veggies and meat in plentiful supply. What we received looks like somebody smashed some roadkill between two limp pieces of baguette. It was not terrible tasting… but needed help with our own extra veggies and seasoning sauce. But for the price - there are better nearby. This is to Vietnamese cuisine what chipotle is to authentic Mexican dishes. Hard pass.

I ordered orange chicken and an eggroll. The meal was terrible. Orange chicken was in a unfamiliar sauce, not orange sauce. The eggroll was good because they just dropped it in grease. I have eaten here before and the food and service was good. You can always tell when restaurants get new cooks. Everything is self served including the water.🥴

Quick stop for a Vietnamese meal! Place was straightforward with few seating available. They were serving Vietnamese favorites such as Pho noodles, banh mi, fresh spring rolls in the busy Broadway street. Very convenient but I would say it’s pricey but considering location, didn’t have the depths of authentic flavors it’s more on fast food type set up, small portions for banh mi. They’re more on to go food.

I have never visited in person, but they are my favorite Vietnamese takeout in Chicago. The pho always hot and everything is seasoned perfectly. Their BOGOfree chicken lo mein deal is a lifesaver. 11/10 recommend

Just to pile on... When the name of the product is the name of your shop the least you could do is be good at making your product. This place is a big swing and a miss. Limp baguette with the most meager of ingredients. Usually the sandwiches are filled with meat and fresh veggies. Luckily we had our own veggies. Flavor was ok... so not a 1 star effort... but damn near. Pho was also OK flavor, heavy on bean sprouts light on veggies with flavor... so again . Prices very typical for the neighborhood, product very typical of someone following ikea instructions on "how to make a bahn-mi" Much better places a few blocks north of here... keep moving!

I got fresh rolls and a banh mi. It really wasn't that good, there was just something off about the flavors.

I got the saigon special classic and I have never seen such a skinny banh mi. When ordering online I noticed that they put ham and was surprised but the ham did not do the sandwich any favors because it made it taste like a regular cold cut sandwich. Additionally, the pate was virtually nonexistent and the bread had a buttery taste. This probably a watered down Americanized version of the idea of a banh mi. I will not be coming back again. I was wondering why it was empty inside during lunch rush time but this sandwich explains why.

Well, that was pretty disappointing. All alone in the dining room at lunch, and I finally had to go to the kitchen to flag someone down for service. The secret to a great Bahn Mi sandwich is fantastic bread. This wasn't. It was just a typical roll. And there wasn't a lot of filling, although it tasted okay. Certainly not good enough to name a restaurant after. There are dozens better in town. The rest of the menu is an odd mix of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese foods. We tried the Mongolian chicken and it was decent. With a $20 order you get free egg rolls, and there is a reason they are free. I'm not sure how an egg roll can not be hot. Perhaps they are a frozen product that is baked? The inside was more like ground coleslaw, and just tepid--a bit concerning since they were supposedly "chicken flavor". The Vietnamese iced coffee was good. Although there were some DoorDash deliveries going in and out, there was only one other couple seated during all of Friday lunch, if that tells you anything.

This place has been one of my favorite bánh mì shops for years! I've since moved from Chicago but whenever I visit I HAVE to get a sandwich - they're just that good! Their service is always great and their new location is very spacious (now offering dine in service). My go-to is their lemongrass chicken sandwich, but honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

We ordered via Uber eats and the food arrived still very hot! The banh mi was tasty, especially dipped in the pho. Overall the Vietnamese dishes were great, but we also ordered pad Thai and general Taos chicken and they were only so-so. I'd definitely stick with the banh mi/pho from here!

Curry chicken sandwich kinda dry Barbecue pork flavor's pretty good but also dry Bread is not toasted, also dry and not crispy Coconut pudding: way too much gelatin, not much coconut flavor Price is pretty cheap. Would not go back

Bahn mi grilled beef sandwich is amazing! It's got lot of veggies and a bite! A little spicy and the bread came out warm and toasty :) Vietnamese iced coffee is also very delicious

Used to go to their old location on Broadway. Loved their BBQ, chicken lemongrass and their chicken curry banh mi sandwiches. Stopped today. Place smells like mildew, you order at a kiosk and not with a human and the BBQ pork banh mi was fatty and flavorless except for the jalapeño pepper and cilantro. I was greatly disappointed.

Food was good! The place was not crowded at all on Sunday night which I thought was not a good sign but the food taste proved me wrong. Good value too! Only concern was the only restroom ran out of soap and paper towels and even though I told the staff upon the beginning of our visit. At the end when our kids went to use it again, it was still out of soap and towels. I hope they pay more attention to it next time, even more when a customer brings it up.

Got delivery through DoorDash - the food was delish. Banh mi sandwich was mild with a lovely crunch, fresh bread, great eating experience! They were out of milk tea, so instead of canceling my boba order, they called me to ask if I'd want a different flavor. So glad they did cause boba is my comfort food and often the catalyst for the whole order! I really appreciate the customer service! :D

BBQ Pork Sandwich - 5/5 Service - 2.5/5 Ambiance - 2/5 This place is relatively mundane outside of the food. I enjoyed the sandwich I got and was pleased with the reasonable price.

Curry chicken sandwich- (3.5/5) I really liked the flavor of the chicken, but I wish it was spicier.

Ordered on Uber eats on a whim and although I finished the sandwich, I wouldn't recommend after this meal. The banh mi barely had any meat filing and the seeds were left in the jalapeño. Bread was barely toasted. The Vietnamese iced coffee was incredibly weak- reminded me alot of coffee flavored boba. You know it's not going to be good when it comes in a boba cup. You can find way better banh mi in argyle so save your money.

It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review but this is truly the worst pad Thai I've ever had. Dry noodles topped with scrambled eggs and a few pieces of chicken .

Came here due to the reviews. I'm SO disappointed. The food was so lack luster. Ordered 2 banh mi's & a spring roll. I'm from Houston so I KNOW what good banh mi supposed be like. I was offended by how much beef they had put into my banh mi. I looked down I my banh mi & thought "where's the meat?". The 1 teeny tablespoon of meat was covered by all the veggies! The combo banh mi was also meh. Nothing great at all. Just the Vietnamese pork roll sausage (that we cut way too thick) and literally American ham. The spring roll was also awful. For spring rolls, noodles supposed to be room temp so that it can stick together when you take a bite. The noodles were on the warm side. So when I took a bite, the roll just started to fall apart. Me & my cousin both agreed that the only good things about this place was the bread and the pickled veggies. Bread was soft & veggies tasted great. I was disappointed in the high reviews this placed had from yelp & google.

I order banh mi from this place weekly. It's always fantastic. Stopped in for the first time since the pandemic and ordered the traditional Vietnamese pho. It was a cold and rainy night. The pho was great. (I saw some negative reviews, I don't know what they are talking about.) Additionally: Other restaurants around were full. This place was empty, but with quite a production of takeout/delivery orders. Got my pho order within 5 minutes of walking in. Recommended to go here, they'll have a table for you immediately. And it's great.

My go to place to order pho in the city! I've been ordering takeout here almost every week for the past 2 years. My order is always ready within 20 minutes & the pho is amazing. Im not sure if they changed up their broth recipe recently but it's been even more delicious lately! Will definitely continue to order from here!

Wow the service is so bad. They have 6 whole people in the kitchen and nobody in the dining room and can't even handle 6 orders which took over 1 hour. What a joke!

Order on Postmates on a cold day. Soup arrived piping hot and we even needed to let it cool down for a bit before eating. Overall the wonton soup was average. 3/5. Not spectacular not bad by any means. Plenty of wontons which is a plus. Crab Rangoon was a 2/5 at best. Flavor was there but there was almost no filling at all. Just deep fried wrappers. Very disappointing. They ran a 2 for one deal. Even if you take two fillings and put it into one, it'd still be lacking quite a bit. Soup dumplings were also a 2/5. No sauce included. Flavor was just meh. We'd probably never order from here again. Only reason I would try it out is for their sandwiches which we didn't try.

We ordered chicken dumplings, chicken egg rolls, and wonton soup. The wonton soup was not very good. It had very little flavor. The service was not great. We let the server know that one of our chicken dumplings was still half frozen and she just kinda walked away. Didn't say or do much. I had high hopes as I'm from the neighborhood but unfortunately the food wasn't anything out of this world. I will say, their prices reflect that.

Through the years, I have stopped here for Bahn Mi sandwiches quite often. Their quality can be a bit inconsistent (sometimes the meat on their sandwiches is dry), but I was here yesterday for lemongrass chicken sandwiches and papaya salad... and everything was fresh, delicious and well-priced. During the pandemic, I am looking for restaurants that take the virus seriously. Bahn Mi has their act together in this regard. They have a full plastic shield around the cash register and food prep area... and customers can use their handy electronic menu and credit card input for contactless ordering. A feature that I really appreciate. For inexpensive, quick and delicious Vietnamese sandwiches and salads, I highly recommend Banh Mi.

Experience: Ordered take out for this specific review. At this time, there is currently no dine in. Place seems really cool to sit in, but it is really tight and small. Parking: I definitely had a difficult time finding parking and that was just to temporarily put my hazards on. At the same time, I did come here on a Friday night in Lakeview, so it was expected. It was also observed to be only paid parking. That being said, if anyone knows any free spots, please let me know! Worth: 100% worth visiting. This place was surprisingly really good. I had the spring rolls, BBQ Pork Bahn Mi, and Thai Tea (all pictured below). The bread for the bahn mi was sooo soft and it was delicious. Definitely would recommend! The Thai tea was sweet and made on the spot. I haven't really seen that in other places. Overall, I would visit here again.

Ordered through Postmates and did a few bogo deals. I love banh mi sammies, but if this was my first one, I wouldn't be impressed. Portion was smaller than I'm used to getting at other places, and the jalapeños pieces were huge chunks. This banh mi was just basic. And almost no filling in the crab Rangoon. Glad I got the bogo deals, but prob won't be back.

The portion sizes are just right. Very quick and friendly service. Both the Chicken and White Rice and Pho are delicious. We will definitely eat here again.

Brought a date here last night. That was a mistake. The place was completely empty. There were staff in the back kitchen but no one up front. They have a kiosk to order through, which is fine. Some of the tables has used tissues/napkins on them, so they should pay a little more attention to that. The food was ok, but the namesake of the place was disappointing. The bread was like a bratwurst roll that they toasted. If you mess up the bread on a banhmi, then what are you doing? My date and I ordered two banh mi, spring rolls, and the soup dumplings. The sandwiches and spring rolls came out quickly. The soup dumplings came out after we were done with our meal. About 45 minutes into our meal a homeless person came in and just started asking patrons for money. He stood around for about 10 minutes because no one working there told him to leave. They were all just back in the kitchen.

The place doesn't smell pleasant at all. Although the appearance is very clean. I ordered pho which seemed that it would be their speciality, but obviously wasn't! I barely had noodles, uncooked carrots, no bean sprouts and the sprint rolls looked like a toddler made them! The spring rolls had more noodles than the pho. Also no one speak English or was simply pointing to our waiter to order. Also they have sent but this is not a place to sit down and eat at at least not before 3pm.

Had this for the first time yesterday. Amazing , healthy and tasty food for a very reasonable price. Had 2 entrees- the tofu noddles and the shrimp noodles. Both were really good . Will definitely be back again.

It was early for dinner on a Sunday afternoon but I was starving. We were walking down Broadway and popped our heads into here to check out the menu and ended up staying! Although I consider myself an omnivore, my friend is vegan so I'm always on the lookout for good food that also happens to be vegan. And this place had quite a few vegetarian/vegan options which we were surprised about. We both opted for the lemongrass tofu sandwich per the recommendations of guy ringing us up and boy were those sandwiches good. Huge baguette filled with deliciously seasoned tofu with pickled carrots, daikon, cucumber, jalapeños, and cilantro. All the flavors complemented each other wonderfully. Overall I'm definitely satisfied with my meal here and I know I will definitely be back. For $8 plus tip, it was a delicious sandwich. Note: there isn't a ton of seating here. Just a counter against the front window and a counter against the side wall. Not a bunch of seating but it's there if you want it. They seem to do a decent amount of takeout though.

Affordable and delicious. Great for lunch in a hurry. I was hesitant of the pickled jalapeños but glad I took the leap and tried them. Not as spicy as I thought and I'm now addicted to them. Back soon for more.

What more can I say, a place named after a Bánh Mi is worth the stop in! Was short on time and needed a light bite to hold us over. My friend spotted the sign and we shared a Chicken Curry Bánh Mi Sandwich. Just the right amount of savory and spicy! Plus the place held a light aroma of fresh herbs which is always a good sign for fresh vietnamese food. Not so secretly, I wish it was more generous on the meat but as a snack it was great! I'd call it a service counter, not so much a sit down stop but it took only 5 minutes for them to make it and another 5 minutes to devour. Definitely going back and getting my own sandwich! lols

Banh mi is my new go to when I am craving pho. The food is always fresh and delicious. The portions are very large for the price. Delivery through them is cheaper than going through the delivery apps, and is always super quick too!

I just ate the most delicious Veggie Tofu Banh Mi and Lemongrass Tofu Spring Roll from Bahn Mi. The bread was so tasty and the other ingredients--particularly the herbs--were beyond fresh. I love finding vegan-friendly places that my non-vegan friends and family can also enjoy. I will 100% be back and if you haven't been yet, what are you waiting for?!

Got the phó and it was tasty. Did wish for a bit more meat. Kid also enjoyed the orange chicken.

If you love pho or Banh Mi like I do, you'll love this place. They have a great selection of sandwiches and various types of pho. The staff is quick when preparing food to get you out of the door fast. I really love stopping by here, especially after a long night. The Banh Mi sandwiches are unreal and they have a deal if you order more than 5. I always recommend this place to my friends when they're in town. Take out takes less than 10 minutes usually, so order accordingly.

We loved this small little shop with the Vietnamese sandwiches. The combination of great French bread and Asian spices, make for a really tasty change on a traditional sub. We also had the veggie spring rolls and they were huge! The dipping sauce really made them delicious .

I love Banh Mi! Their portions are generous, the ingredients are really fresh, and everything just tastes great. Like an idiot, I ordered from them via Uber Eats a couple of times before remembering how predatory food delivery apps are. So when I found myself once again craving their curry chicken sandwich & rice noodle + shrimp + egg salad, I decided to do the right thing and order directly from their site. I am sitting here salivating as I type, anticipating the delicious meal that will arrive on my doorstep in a few minutes. :)

Randomly stumbled upon their yelp page because I was craving Viet food. This place was ideal for the both of us because while I was craving Viet food, my friend is vegetarian. They had a good amount of vegetarian options. I ordered the BBQ Pork Banh Mi Sandwich and my friend ordered the Lemongrass Tofu Banh Mi Sandwich. The BBQ pork was absolutely delicious. The tender meat and the crispy pickled daikon were a perfect combination with the soft baguette. I was so impressed with how soft the bread was because usually baguettes are a big more tough on the outside. I also go to try my friend's lemongrass tofu, which I was impressed by. I don't like tofu at all, but I appreciated the tofu in the sandwich! It did have a small kick to it! Additionally, service was quick and there's patio seating!

Second time ordering the lemongrass tofu Banh Mi and it was just as good as the first time. My roommate ordered the vegetarian spring rolls and veggie pho. She said everything was delicious. The spring rolls here are enormous. The staff is friendly and the cashier noticed that our order was all vegetarian so he asked if we wanted the wonton soup that they're giving away with the order since it isn't vegetarian. I told him yes and he packed it. Great customer service. Highly recommend. Our order was ready in less than twenty minutes!

I ordered takeout from this restaurant. I just had the Saigon Classic special sandwich (banh mi). It was pretty good! Despite ordering it for dinner, I found that the ingredients were still fresh (aka bread was not stale or anything). I personally would still prefer banh mi from restaurants in Argyle (Uptown) since the quality of banh mi there is much richer in flavor and texture. However, it definitely does a good job of satiating my craving for banh mi whenever I'm too lazy to make a trip to Uptown. I think for a Vietnamese restaurant in East Lakeview, they do a great job of representing this Vietnamese classic.

banh mi sandwiches not worth it. Minimal filling for the $$. Restroom smelled horrible. And that's with the door closed!!!

These sandwiches are so freaking good. 10/10 recommend. I do the ham one and it is refreshing yet savory at the same time.

Have not tried their sandwiches but have had their pho and it is pretty good. Last time I definitely got way too many noodles for the amount of broth which made the pho pretty thick. Ended up throwing out some of the noodles. My favorite are probably the spring rolls with shrimp, always very fresh and tasty, highly recommend adding them to your meal. Love all the smells of different food items when you enter inside, has a homey feeling.

I would walk by this shop and it always smelled so good, so yesterday, I stopped here for lunch. I had the Saigon classic sandwich, which had ham, pate, pork, carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, jalapenos, black pepper, mayo, and some sort of Thai bbq on a warm baguette. Yum!! I love this sandwich. It's a touch pricier since it does not include chips or a drink. I'll be back to try more sandwiches and the pho.

Used to love this place with the original owners a couple years ago but quality has really taken a tumble since their departure. I ordered takeout and got my usual order of a grilled bahn mi ($7.95) and paid for extra meat ($2.50). I open the sandwich and it barely looks like there's less meat than even a normal serving (see photo)! Either they really do just add barely anything and charge the $2.50 or they overlooked that part of the food ticket and forgot (I'm hoping that it's the latter). To make the experience even worse, I ordered Thai iced tea ($3.95) and the only way I could describe it is a lukewarm orange colored cup of cream and sugar. Not even a hint of tea or the spices that your tastes buds immediately notice when you drink Thai iced tea. Utterly disappointed and I think it's time to stop spending my money here. Do yourself a favor and take the short trip to Argyle for an authentic bahn mi sandwich. I'm sorry guys but the $15 I spent on this meal would have been much more enjoyable elsewhere.

Not a fan. The bahn mi sandwiches were soooo dry they were hard to swallow. Bread was flaky. I tried their passionfruit mojito with popping boba, so sweet I couldnt drink it. We did a group order online and they messed up 2 of our sandwiches. Would not go again.
