Yelp
This place has been in mi radar quite a long time, but due to how crazy it gets around Falls Church, it's not that accesible without a car.
This place is more like a small Vietnamese grocery shop with tons of grab and go foods and deli shop with bahn mi sandwiches. There are no seating or tables, so be mindful when you plan a trip there!
The people are nice, just as if you go to a supermarket and asking at the deli counter. Finally we were around the area and grabbed 2 sandwiches and a few Vietnamese sweet treats. My husband had the Banh Mi Bi (shredded pork, didn't take a picture lol since we were eating them on the car), I had the Banh Mi Cha Chay (the vegetarian deli meat one) a warm custard bun, pandan honeycomb cake Bánh bò nướng and a banh tet chuoi (a sweet rice cake wrapped in banana leaves).
I gotta be very honest about my banh mi, I wasn't that much of a fan, because it truly needed something to smooth all the dry and crunchy ingredients, I understand the regular banh mi sandwich comes with a chicken liver pate, but at least some mayo or even butter could've been helpful. So far I prefer other places for veggie banh mi sandwiches, although I have to recognize size to price is really what beats most places. I'm not huge on baguette without butter or spread to help the crusty bread.
The custard bun was delicious and so soft and the custard had the perfect amount of sweetness! Honestly my favorite thing on that place, second best was definitely the soft and bouncy honeycomb pandan cake slice! I'm biased towards anything pandan flavor, I think the pandan extract was definitely less noticeable, but the texture the right amount of chew! Usually having these can be hit or miss, I think this is a hit! The size portion is very generous, that both my husband and I were stuffed, that we had to save the rice cake Banh Tet Chuoi for last (lowkey regretful), which was really bland and lacked of red bean flavor, all I tasted was the banana leaves on the cake, at some point I didn't know if it was already gone bad or that's how this is supposed to taste.
I'll have to give it a try and maybe order the tofu bahn mi or request some mayor on it!
