The 18 Best Restaurants In Hackney - London - The Infatuation

"Bánh Mì Hội-An is a tiny Vietnamese cafe 30 seconds from Hackney Central that makes big, extremely satisfying bánh mì. There are a few stools but it’s predominantly takeaway only, and whichever option you go for, you’ll find that the char siu is sweet, the pork belly chunky, and the bread is the perfect equilibrium between soft, chewy, crisp, and flaky. The noodle salads and phở are perfectly decent, but it’s the bánh mì you should be focused on." - jake missing, sinead cranna, daisy meager

Best Vietnamese Restaurants in London | Eater London

"What is the best bacon and egg sandwich in London? Regency? Pellicci? St John? No. It’s the no 8 special (extra spicy) at Banh Mi Hoi An, located on a side street near Hackney Central. Not a single banh mi stall in London quite nails the the optimal lightness of the baguette, but Hoi An’s is soft, crisp, well toasted, and weapon-ready vast. The Hoi An special has both sweet char siu and thinly sliced pork belly, with little pockets of wobbly omelette coddling the meat; pickles cut through the richness in the manner of a sharp brown sauce. Aside from the egg and bacon, the beef ball curry banh mi is excellent when the chef has it on — needless to say, with the lack of any competition, it’s also the best meatball sub in this city." - Jennifer Trak

Big in Japan Kills Off Its Banh Mi Store — and Other Closures To Know | Eater Montreal

"A sandwich counter that opened in 2016 on St-Laurent at Pins and was headed up by Julie Bisson (partner of Big in Japan owner André Nguyen); it was noted as a rather expensive option for what is typically a cheap eat, with banh mis going up to $12 (prices were later brought down), but that apparently wasn’t enough to save it and the St-Laurent at Pins location has gone out of business." - Tim Forster

Google
Such a lovely vibe at @ourbanhmi It was my first time experiencing authentic Vietnamese cuisine, and I loved how the restaurant stays true to tradition. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable about Vietnamese food history and even shared some fascinating stories with us. The dishes were full of vibrant colors and flavors — my favorite was definitely the Pho Dip sandwich! 😋

Omg!! I have never had a pho dip before and I was blown away! This was so good! We came on a Friday evening and service was super quick! I do love that they have indoor and outdoor seating. We tried their pho dip, bun Bo hue, and Vietnamese shaken beef and everything was absolutely delicious!

Google
Amazing and affordable local Vietnamese cuisine! They nailed the flavors here so much, it makes me miss visiting Vietnam. If you’ve never tried spring rolls, you must try them here! Banh mi here is so flavorful as well and loaded🤤

Google
Small Vietnamese restaurant where fried tofu stands out. The decor is clean. The service is courteous and fast. And the food is good. Our favorite is their fried tofu, whether it’s in rice noodles, bahn mi, or other dishes.

Google
Really good pho...not the best I've ever had but still really good. Generous portions, good meat, piping hot and flavorful broth and generous amounts of your protein of choice in the pho. Staff is excellent, helpful and kind and it's very clean. Decent pricing on food and $5 draft beers! The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the metal spoons are too shallow so it's tough to drink the delicious broth, there are a few too many TVs and I've had slightly better broth.

Google
Came here for the “Banh Mi” sandwich with the side order of Pho broth to dip. Fantastic sandwich with TRI tip Meat! Can’t wait to try just the Pho soup! Great prices also:)

Google
This place is legit. It'll easily be my go to pho place if it's near my home in the Bay area. Grilled pork rice vermicelli (dry) - The portion for the grilled pork was generous. Very nicely grilled and charred. One thing is the pork was marinated with lemongrass and I'm not crazy about lemongrass. Nonetheless, it was well marinated and tasty. The pickled Daikin and carrots were well done as well. Very flavorful. The fish sauce also done well. I prefer not concentrated personally. Filet Mignon pho - The soup was good. The meat is legit. Very tender. The pho noodle was done perfectly. Not too long so it's not soggy. Vietnamese ice coffee - despite it's premade, flavor is good. Not too sweet which was perfect for me.

Google
Excellent bahn mi - flavors were excellent and the bread was soft yet had a crispy crust that didn't cut up the roof of my mouth. We also had the pork egg rolls and beef broth, both of which were delicious. If we're ever back in the area, I would definitely come back.

Yelp
First off, plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant. In fact, that's the only place you can park! Don't let Rosecrans throw you off as it appears there's nowhere to park at first. Trust me, you're going to want to visit this place! The people working at the restaurant were very friendly, I believe this place has been here for almost 8 years now but it was my first time trying their food. I think instantly this might be my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The inside was nice and cozy. It could probably fit a couple dozen people in there, there was also some additional dining area at the entrance outside. I would highly recommend the pho bahn mi. It's basically the Vietnamese version of a French dip and it will rock your taste buds! But my favorite dish here by a long shot which totally took me by surprise and I've never had anything like it was the Bò Né! "Filet mignon steaks, egg, pork sausage, Vietnamese meatball, pate and our special house tomato sauce served with a baguette." I literally quoted from the menu. It is just so good. I cannot express how much flavor bomb comes from this dish. It's so good that I want to take my mom here! So if you're looking for a delicious Vietnamese restaurant, I would absolutely recommend this place. Great service delicious food can't go wrong here.

Yelp
Quick, Fresh, and Delicious! I didn't have time for a full meal but needed a quick snack for the drive back to LA. Found Banh Mi Hoi An nearby on Yelp when I was craving spring rolls. I ran in, placed my order, and my food was ready in under 10 minutes; perfect for my on-the-go schedule. I didn't have much interaction with the staff besides ordering and picking up, but the spring rolls were super fresh and really hit the spot. I noticed other dishes coming out for dine-in guests, they looked and smelled amazing! Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop in again for more spring rolls and would love to try the pho. Great spot for a tasty, quick bite!

Yelp
We had just landed in San Diego, picked up our rental car, and wanted a quick bite. We chose Banh Mi Hoi An because we were looking for something light and fast. We arrived right when they opened and ordered their most popular banh mi along with a noodle bowl featuring lemongrass chicken. The banh mi came out first, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. The bread was stale and falling apart. It crumbled as soon as you bit into it. The toppings were difficult to get through, and the cucumber slices were far too thick. It also lacked that signature tang from the pickled vegetables that really defines a good banh mi. That said, I have to compliment the pâté. It was rich, flavorful, and generously applied, which was a nice surprise. The noodle bowl was decent. The chicken was flavorful, and the accompaniments were fine, but overall it was nothing to write home about. I think if the banh mi had been made with fresh bread, it could have been an amazing sandwich. But since the bread is such a crucial part of what makes a banh mi great, it ended up missing the mark.

Yelp
We decided to check out Banh Mi Hoi An after seeing an influencer's IG reel showing their banh mi loaded with meat; it looked amazing and drew us in. Sadly, we were fooled. The Hoi An Special sandwich we ordered was nowhere near what was shown in the video. The serving was much lighter on the meat, and overall, the banh mi was pretty mediocre. We also tried the Bo Ne (daily special), and while the flavor was okay, the beef was hella chewy. About half the pieces were tough to eat, though a few were decent. The service was a little awkward too. The server dropped off the Bo Ne and baguette, then came back with utensils and placed them right at the edge of the table, as if he was struggling to keep it on the table, even though there was plenty of space everywhere else on the table. Like, one wrong move and they'd have been on the floor. So weird... Overall, the food was decent but nothing to write home about. Definitely not the overstuffed banh mi we were led to believe from the video. 2 stars feels a bit harsh, so giving them 3.

Yelp
HONESTLY -- best banh mi I've ever had! Service was super sweet and friendly. It's a simple little mom and pop shop with a welcoming vibe tucked away in Point Loma. This was our first time here. We ordered 11 of their special banh mis to bring to a family potluck. They were kind enough to wrap each half individually, which we so appreciated! While we waited, we sat down and had a beer and ended up opening one to try -- and oh my god... Hands down the best banh mi we've ever had! These went quick at the potluck and I'm telling you we got so many raving reviews from everyone who was able to try one and we were stoked! This is officially our new spot! We're definitely coming back for more!

Yelp
Pretty quaint little restaurant. I tried their lemon grass beef banh mi and was pleasantly surprised. I like that they thinly slice their beef! Very tasty and decent prices here. Friendly service, would come back

Yelp
I don't take any pleasure in doing this, but this is the most awful vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. I was sourly disappointed in everything I ordered. I was deeply fooled by the pictures and good yelp rating. This place deserves a 1 but bc they are dog friendly with patio seating, they get a 1.5. First off, I think the place is cute and cozy "looking", but it is very dirty. The tables and chairs outside is just blatantly unkept. The inside is better but I touched a lot of dusty menus and the tables don't look wiped down. I could get past all of that, but it is the food! Holy snickers how everything i ordered had ZERO flavor. I got bun bo hue that smelled very authentic but the soup tasted like soap water. What really turn us off is that the bowl of hot soup was NOT hot. It was luke warm at best! Not what I expected! The bowl lacked the essence of bun bo hue. No meat! No pork feet, no pigs blood, no pork loaf, no meatball, not even a hint of shrimp paste flavor! Good gosh, the worst bun bo hue I've ever had. We also got the braised pork that lacked any hint of flavor. The vietnamese xiu mai was just all tomato paste. It wasn't tart and salty as it should be. Its just mashed up tomato sauce with NO sense of vietnamese identity. The meatballs were mushy and pasty! Gross! The hot deli food at Lucky seafood is better than this stuff by 10 folds. I also got a pork skewer at 5$. What did they do? Boil the pork and then char it? It tastes like meat that doesn't even have salt and pepper. I think monks eat better than this. I also got 2 banh mi. One special and one thit nuong. Now, this could have been very decent and saved the day, but our bread was toasted to oblivion. It was so hard and there were no softness left on that baguette in any way shape or form. This turned us off so bad. Today was a sad day. Mistakes were made and I'll never make the same mistake twice bc I'll never be coming here again.

Yelp
Tried their special banh mi w/ fried egg today and was pleasantly surprised. The bread was crispy but not hard or too chewy. Meats and pate had good flavor. Friendly staff and service, I'm excited to come back and try more of their food! They have ample seating inside as well as an outdoor patio. They have a parking lot and their entrance faces the street so you have to walk around the coffee store to find it!

Yelp
We saw this restaurant on IG and wanted to try it. I started with the Summer Rolls but was disappointed. It was loosely rolled and the cucumber was cut a bit thick and fell out of the wrapper. The peanut sauce had the consistency of watery peanut butter. However, I came to dip a Bahn Mi in a pho bowl and that did not disappoint. I ordered the house Bahn Hoi A Special the dip was extra. The bread was airy and crispy and nicely put together. It was delicious especially when dipped into the pho My friends who ordered the Shaken Beef and two bowls of Pho had no complaints. But the Curry Chicken Bahn Mi ... curry was not warm. Server was nice, helpful and honest with recommendations. We would come again but I will stay away from the Summer Roll.

Yelp
Stopped in here for lunch, and didn't really know what to expect. A few things on the menu looked pretty good but I went with the traditional grilled pork Banh Mi. I also ordered a Thai Iced Tea to wash it down. The sandwich tasted fresh. They could have put a little more meat on the sandwich, I felt it was a little light. So, the food was good, but the value was only ok. The service was a little slow, but they did have a medium amount of other people in there already. You pay at the counter when you're done, but you also wait at the counter to be seated or place a to go order. The line was a little odd when trying to leave while other people were trying to order. The place isn't huge but had ample enough seating. I would check it out again for another lunch day.

Yelp
I hope they don't banh mi for this review :) Came the first time and they ran out of banh mi. Ok, no worries it's probably good that's why they ran out. I got the pho instead and it was just ok. The next time I got the chicken banh mi and the flavor was just ok also. The chicken had alot of chewy tendon pieces which I had to remove from my mouth so I wouldn't choke. There are other banh mi places in SD with more flavor and a cheaper price point. -Banh mi experience-I grew up in the San Jose area so I'm a banh mi vet.

Yelp
This place serves incredible banh mi that matches (and even better) the ones you can find in Orange County. So glad I found this.

Yelp
This was a great little find. Every now and then I get a craving for a Vietnamese sandwich.... you know, like the ones up the road in Westminster. This place does it pretty well. Have had several of the dishes and it is a go to when I have to bring something for a dinner pot luck gathering.

Yelp
I ordered the tofu spring roll they didn't have the carrots /cucumber or radishes in it that's expected in a veggie spring roll ! Banh mi special was not that great eithe! I'm so disappointed

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! I've been twice and both times I've enjoyed everything I've ordered. The fresh spring rolls are delicious. Highly recommended the beef and or pork one. Their pork skewer was delicious. Service has always been on point. Definitely try this place ASAP!

Yelp
When we randomly selected this restaurant on a whim, I never expected that it would become one of the most delicious eats of our trip. Banh Mi Hoi An is a gem. I got the GRILLED PORK BANH MI ($8.95) and savored every single bite. The pork was super tender and nicely marinated, being slightly sweet with underlying notes of lemongrass. The edges of the meat also had a light char from the grill which added extra flavor. In addition to the cucumber, I loved the crunch from the pickled daikon and carrot, which had the perfect subtle tang, alongside the heat from the jalapeño. A drizzle of creamy mayo quelled the spice and was the perfect final touch. The bread was terrific as well, being soft and light inside, with a slight crunch on the outside. The banh mi was so good that we stopped by again to pick up an early lunch before heading to the airport on our last day. The gentleman at the front who took our order was friendly and we could tell that our sandwiches were crafted and wrapped up with care. This is proof that sometimes an unassuming spot can turn out to be the most pleasant surprise. Very reasonable pricing too!

Yelp
First time here. You seat yourself and Staff were attentive. I stuck to what they're popular in, Banh mi. I got the grilled beef and bf got the grilled pork. The bread was airy and fluffy which is preferable. The whole sandwich itself were ok. I feel like I've had better at other places. Also ordered the chicken wings, garlic butter flavor. This was good, I would recommend. As far as the eggrolls, it's ok, nothing special.

Yelp
PHO-nomenal! I've been on a bit of a Pho run lately as I've been craving pho as we've hit the winter months. I was in the area after a workout today and decided to try out Banh Mi Hoi An. I've driven by tons of times but finally made it past the parking lot. Banh Mi Hoi An is quite the hidden gem in Point Loma off of Rosecranz. Parking was easy and the space is perfect for quick dining in or take out. I opted for the Filet Mignon pho and the classic grilled Banh mi. Delicious. Pho was served piping hot with all the fixings and the banh mi crust was chef's kiss!! Perfectly crusty and literally the best I've had in San Diego. Large portions and even better pricing. Bring your appetite because this one is a winner! Thanks Banh Mi Hoi An, I'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
My new favorite Banh Mi place!! This place is so good and definitely beats out any other banh mi place i've had in San Diego thus far. I got the banh mi hoi an special with an egg and it hit the craving. There's tons of parking here and they have indoor and outdoor parking. We decided to sit in their outdoor patio and they brought out our food for us. I'm actually surprise that they also brought out the whole set up with the entire napkin dispenser, condiments, etc. Easy parking, great service, and great food. What more can you ask for?
google avatar

Yelp
For a lunchtime meal I always think about a banh mi sandwich. I was in the mood and I found a place, so time to share. They make a really good Thai tea. I also shared an order of vegetable egg rolls and of course got a pork banh mi sandwich. The spring rolls were nice and crispy. The banh mi sandwich was solid. I can't say it was one of the better that I've had. But it was good enough that I'd go back. It felt like a family owned restaurant and supporting family owned local business is always a goal. We were seated quickly and anything we needed the server helped us get. If I need a quick sandwich and I'm in the area I will stop in again.

Yelp
Catering Update - Banh Mi Hoi Anh delivers again!** I picked up a catering order from Banh Mi Hoi Anh and I'm blown away by the quality and portion size! Ordered their House Special Fried Rice and egg rolls for a family gathering. **House Special Fried Rice:** This was absolutely loaded! Generous portions of shrimp, Chinese sausage, and char siu pork mixed thoroughly with perfectly seasoned rice. The balance of ingredients was spot-on - every bite had a good mix of protein and the rice had that perfect wok flavor. The peas and carrots added nice color and texture. Even in the large aluminum tray, you could tell this was freshly made and not sitting around. **Egg rolls:** Golden, crispy perfection! They packed these carefully and included a generous portion of fresh mixed greens and herbs (lettuce, mint, cilantro) for wrapping. The rolls had that satisfying crunch and were clearly made fresh - not soggy or greasy at all. The pickled daikon and carrots made it perfect, along with the dipping sauce. The catering packaging was thoughtful too - everything stayed hot and fresh during transport. For the price point, the portions were very generous and could easily feed our group with leftovers. Banh Mi Hoi Anh continues to impress whether it's their regular menu or catering orders. The attention to quality doesn't change when scaling up portions. Will definitely be ordering their catering again for future events! Highly recommend for anyone needing Vietnamese catering in the area. Oh, in case you're wondering, yes, I served other items to go with it but needed additional help! And be sure to bring some patience with you. This is a small business and they are doing their best to deliver quality food.

Yelp
Somewhat lackluster service but solid Vietnamese basics and excellent bang for the buck at this unassuming spot! Pho Bo (beef bone broth simmered for 18+ hours served with sliced filet mignon), Noodle with Lemongrass Beef (served with pickled vegetables, bean sprouts, fish sauce, chopped lettuce, mint, & cilantro and garnished with green onion and crushed peanut), and Grilled Pork Sandwich (marinated with lemongrass and garlic) all had good depth of flavor and were generously portioned.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
Solid Vietnamese restaurant that hasany other items beyond banh mi. The ambiance was casual, nothing special, but it's nice to have plenty of parking around the back. Our server was VERY young (maybe family business...) - she was friendly and helpful. Pork and shrimp spring rolls were tasty, along with the peanut sauce. I opted for the pork belly banh mi and it was decent, but I think maybe the grilled pork would have been even better. The pork belly was okay but not super flavorful and not as fatty / tender as I would have hoped. The rest of the sandwich complimented the meat well though.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic delicious Vietnamese food...this is your spot! I am from the Bay Area where there is a plethora of good Vietnamese food. I've been on the hunt to find a great spot here in SD and I strongly believe this is the one. All of our food came out piping hot and all the flavor was there. I ordered the crispy tofu banh mi ($8.95), my husband got the grilled chicken banh mi ($8.95) and my toddler had a small beef bowl of pho which contained thin slices of beef, rice noodles and vegetables ($13.47). Plus two yummy cups of jasmine tea ($2.70 each). The broth surprised us the most because of how tasty it was. I met with the owner who is also a cook here, he told me the broth is marinated with beef bone for more than twenty hours. I absolutely loved how much flavor is packed into each dish. My tofu was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside, soft and delicate on the inside. Even my picky toddler approves this restaurant. The total of our meal came out to $40. Which is soo affordable compared to other restaurant prices in San Diego. The staff was very attentive and kind. There is seating inside and outside. I think the seating area inside could use some remodeling and updating, but other than that -- this is a spot is perfect.

Yelp
My university used to cater from here quite often, very filling sandwiches but dry 10/10 for service 10/10 pricing for amount of food 9/10 for taste of food
google avatar

Yelp
The banh mi here is delicious. The bread does not wreck the roof of my mouth. Service was okay, nothing spectacular, but they were kind and polite. I probably won't go out of my way to dine in here, but I would do a to go order. This is probably my favorite banh mi place in SD. I think for the price point the portion was just okay. It's definitely not as overpriced as Lee's Sandwiches, but I don't like that they put a fat slice of cucumber in my sandwich. It felt like most of my sandwich was taken up by that cucumber instead of other filling like the meat.

Yelp
There's def no good Vietnamese food back home, so I had to go get some the night before leaving. The Bun Bo Hue was loaded with flavor, I haven't had any in nearly 6 years...so it was refreshing to have, again. The Banh Mi, was packed with meat and pickled daikon & carrots (I loveeee pickled daikon and carrots. Easy to make but back home...they can never perfect). I had to give 4 stars because they didn't provide any utensils, napkins etc. Please consider those traveling from out of town, hotels don't provide, so it's tough trying to enjoy a meal, without the necessary utensils.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant. I saw an instagram reel recommending this place for banh mi and stopped by since I was already in the area. I walked in to a friendly greeting and good service. I like that there's both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a nice size restaurant with a cozy modern feel. There's also a good variety on the menu. I ordered a Grilled Pork Banh mi with extra veggies. I'm not used to being charged for extra veggies but I'm glad I got them. Banh mi was delicious and each bite had really good flavor with the aioli, grilled pork, sautéed onions and those veggies gave it a nice fresh flavor balance. Tip- parking is in the back and restaurant is on the front side of Rosecrans.

Their banh mi special is the best banh mi I've had in San Diego. Their pate is really something else! Service was so sweet and thoughtful. Ambiance is casual but colorful and interesting. Parking is easy but maps will take you to the wrong side of the building. Just circle around back and you'll find it!

Yelp
Excellent Vietnamese food and prices. The beef spring rolls were so good and their peanut sauce is Really enjoyed the grilled pork bahn mi and tried someone's beef noodle bowl. They said it was the best one they've ever had. The quality of the food and homemade sauces shine. We seated ourselves and someone eventually came to take our order. They got one order totally wrong but fixed it pretty quick. It wasn't obvious but we had to pay at the cashier. Nothing special about the ambiance but this isn't the place you go to for that. Seemed family owned by some friendly folk. One gentleman told us they just one a best of Point Lona award. Also that they opened right before Covid... glad they survived! We don't live close enough to frequent this place, but will be back.

Yelp
**Note this review is focused only on food, as I got take-out only** A great Vietnamese restaurant with a nice variety of dishes and a few inventive ones with a Viet spin. Solid representation of Viet cuisine. Highlight for me was the pho banh mi, the dipping broth gives you the best of both worlds for a quick bite and something hearty. The broth is legit Pho Broth and delicious. Dipped with the banh mi, it makes for a very nice combination of umami and convenience. I also grabbed the dirty fries, which is kind of like the Viet version of carne asada fries topped with a fried egg. The meats are marinated in viet flavors and make for a nice complement to the fries. Overall recommended for a good respresentation of viet cuisine with a little bit of inventiveness!

Yelp
Cute little Vietnamese spot near Liberty Station! Stopped by because I heard about how the banh mi was good and was ecstatic given theres not many banh mi options in San Diego. This place delivers! Got the Banh Mi (Hoi An special sandwich) and there was TONS of meat and flavor! Their bread is good, pate was good & pickled veggies were perfectly pickled. Also ordered the spring rolls which were just okay, can't go wrong with a spring roll & pork skewer with rice (you can also choose vermicelli over rice) and honestly the pork skewer was SO flavorful & probably my favorite thing. They have great service & you can tell this is a mom& pop type shop! Parking is plentiful in the back of the building.

Yelp
Was underwhelmed with the food. The bread was slightly stale, the pork in my sandwich wasn't hot, and the vibes were kinda weird. It also had a dusty smell. They were friendly enough to be sure but I wouldn't return.

Yelp
Went here for the second time to get the banh mi again which I really liked the first time but had it to-go. You can seat yourself and they take your order. We ordered the braised pork belly and the lemongrass beef banh mi with a Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea. Also, added a cup of the beef broth on the side bc it pairs well with the banh mi. Both banh mi were very good bc the meat on both were flavorful. The viet iced coffee was super strong but I prefer more of a balance of sweet and strong. Thai tea was standard and extra sweet. I like this place bc of the food and the service is very nice. The restaurant is similar to most pho/banh mi spots. It does need some updating with the furniture and more clean up at the tables.

Yelp
The grilled pork skewers are the best, because they have some char, caramelization, and lots of good flavor. They are juicy and good portions with onions too. The meat on the skewers taste better than that in the pork banh mi. We had both the pork grilled bang mi as well as the beef grilled with lemon grass. The bread was nice and toasted warm and fresh. Love the pickled vegetables and cilantro that come in sandwich. We also had lemon grass beef with rice on a plate. yum! Today's food was the best that we have had since we tried this place a couple years ago. Service is fast and friendly. If you buy 10 sandwiches, and get the whole punched in the card, you get one free.

Yelp
I had the crispy tofu ban mi. It was good and filling, but needed a few more toppings or condiments. I had ordered to go and wait time was adequate. The ambiance was good with some decorative Vietnamese flair. There was outside seating as well.

Yelp
Delicious Vietnamese food with vegetarian options. Comforting and fresh vermicelli bowls and pho, kind of the best of both worlds between hole in the wall (good portions and prices) and mid scale dining (comfortable dining room to eat in). Not too many frills but quite a great find.

Yelp
Fantastic food! A small place with few seating right on Rosecrans. Probably could use another person working the front as it was just 1 guy ordering food and serving, he was very busy. But the place was packed for a Monday night!

Yelp
I've been coming here for 5 years and the secret is definitely out about this place. This place has the BEST Pho Dip Banh Mi i have ever had. It is my comfort food, and I always pop in to Barnes and Noble right after. It's a small little place but don't let that fool you!

Yelp
Was in the Point Loma area craving some Asian food and decided to stop by this spot. Got seated right away, which is always a win. Parking can be a bit tricky, but they have a lot behind the building, so that's nice. I ordered the Bo Ne, which is a Vietnamese sizzling breakfast dish (but honestly, it's great anytime). There aren't many places in SD that serve this, so I was pretty excited. It did not disappoint--it was packed with flavor, and came with filet mignon steak, egg, pork, meatball, pate, and sauce. Super tasty. We also tried the Saigon pork chop plate, which was HUGE and so delicious. If you're a coffee fan, they have this coffee float that tastes like an affogato but with Vietnamese coffee. It's a must-try! Oh, and the Banh Mi sandwich was on point too. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Definitely a solid spot to hit up if you're in the area!

Yelp
Plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant. A little on the pricer side, but has good food. The banh mi doesn't lack protein (a good thing!) as sometimes they can be made with more bread to protein ratio. I also ordered the sticky rice which I felt like was a biiiiit smaller of a portion than I expected, but still good. A little bit on the saltier side though. Overall would definitely come again for some authentic banh mi.

Yelp
Oh this place is GOOD! I got the braised pork belly (thit kho) - it came with an egg. The flavor was strong and so tasty. The meat was cut small but there was enough and I didn't feel cheated. I loved how it also came with the pickled veggies on the side :) they focus on grill items which is cool so it's more intentional. Service was quick and friendly. The place is small and clean. Some cute plants inside to add some charm. I'd for sure come back!

Yelp
Not friendly, inflexible . I asked for a piece Jalapeño wrapped with my spring roll . The guy said no we can't. Vietnamese coffee tastes like water down ice Americano with milk . First time trying this place . Sadly, but Will not go back.

Yelp
A lovely Vietnamese restaurant in Point Loma! It is cozy, warm, and inviting with delicious Vietnamese cuisine. We always order their banh mi sandwiches and vermicelli noodle bowls. Their banh mi sandwiches are so flavorful and delicious. The bread is slightly crispy on the outside but chewy and fluffy on the inside. They give generous portions of veggies and well seasoned meat. The ratios are perfect and you get a perfect bite each and every time. The balance of the umami savory meat and the fresh veggies always satiates and hits the spot. Their vermicelli bowls are also amazing. I especially love their lemongrass beef- tender beef full of flavor. All their fillings are super fresh and the fish sauce you pour over the noodles is perfectly balanced. I love getting their chili oil for an extra hint of spice to accentuate your dish. Prices are very fair for the quality of food you are getting. They have free street parking in the front or free parking in the lot behind the restaurant.

Yelp
After living in SD for a few years, I can confidently say this is the best grilled pork banh mi I've tasted so far in the County. Nicely marinated meat, crisp but soft bread, and just the right amount of bite and acidity to the pickled veggies. Would come back for the banh mi only. Pho and egg roll loving kiddos did not care for this place.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE. the boba is immaculate and one of the best I have had. I usually get the mango smoothie w boba it is SO GOOD. They also have taro, Thai, Vietnamese ice coffee and more. It is amazing. Their chicken wings are so meaty and cooked and everything is hot and fresh. All their food is so yummy and a cozy feeling eating inside. They also have pho and I would highly recommend. The people working are very nice but can be introverted which is totally fine because I am too.
