Banh Mi Land's name tells all—they serve terrific sandwiches - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"If there ever were a LynnwoodVietnamese sandwichshop that’d giveYeh Yeh’sa run for its money, that’d be Banh Mi Land. The bread is equal parts fluffy and toasty. Pickled vegetables are cold, crisp, and taste just-chopped. And stunningly charred pork stands out in an entire metropolitan area that's already congested with the stuff. Between phenomenal salted cheese foam-topped iced coffee, shrimpy taro rolls perfect for snacking, and an efficient takeout operation, lunch on the north end is foolproof here." - Aimee Rizzo

Google
This place is a must-visit. Come for the banh mi and stay for Nem chua (I’m pretty sure that the Nem Chua is a special so it’s not always available) but It’s freshly made and absolutely delicious. From the banh mi and spring rolls to the weekend specials, everything on the menu is amazing. The service is also top-notch. You can tell that all the aunties who run the place care about the quality of their food. Thank you for the amazing food

Google
Excellent! First time having a “Special Vietnamese Coffee,” which was topped with salty, yet sweet, cream cheese foam. I was informed best to drink without a straw. Yum! I was very close to ordering another one, but I don’t regularly drink coffee anymore and didn’t want to test that out. But that just means I will have to come back in the future for another one! I also tried their chicken sandwich and that was very fresh. Loved all of the flavors together with the chicken, jalapeño, carrot, and cucumber. The bread was fresh, but the outer crust was on the crunchier side. That would be my only criticism, but also just means I’ll try a new meal with my next coffee. Service was informative, pleasant, and fast. Will be back and already raved to my husband about the coffee! 😋

Google
Their porky belly and char siu banh mi were delicious! The bread was crispy but didn't destroy the roof of my mouth. Packed with veggies and meat and prepared quickly.

Google
Just perfect…. Everything odds well done here…. The rice bowl is amazing, the banh mi is super awesome and the vermicelli bowl is excellent. The meats are very well done… The crispy pork is amazing so is the grilled pork and chicken…. The service is excellent and atmosphere is lovely…

Google
Great place for Bánh Mì in the north end. This is nitpicky but the meat and veggies should be arranged where you can get all of the flavors with each bite. The way it's stacked right now you get veggies on one side and the meat on the other, very different from how it's commonly done. The vermicelli bowls are pretty good, I dig the pork belly the most. Sadly, the score goes down due to catering service. This is the first and last time we'll be catering from here. Picked up our order today and was sorely disappointed. Look at the picture of chicken wings tray and tell me it's worth $110.

Google
Such an amazing grab and go place for bang mi. Ordered a tofu banh mi. Stuffed with sweet flavored tofu and lots of fresh veggies. Honestly wasn’t expecting anything to be fresh, but was surprised. Worth all your money. It’s cheap, it’s nice. It’s quick. Give it a try

Google
I got the crispy pork banh mi. Maybe the best banh mi I ever had. Chicken wings were amazing too, super tasty

Alex O.

Google
Been here several times. Tried the vermicelli bowl, traditional, grilled pork and chicken banh mi. Today I tried the crispy pork belly banh mi which is now my favorite. All the sandwiches are delicious. Everything was fresh. Crispy outside soft inside warm bread, fresh green cilantro, do chua pickled to perfection, meat of your choice juicy and seasoned well. Quality, quality, quality! In a time where so many restaurants cut corners, reduce portions, and raise prices, Banh Mi Land is really a shining gem. Even the pricing is great. Most of their sandwiches are priced around $8 dollars, and they are huge and filling. The vermicelli bowl was the only non banh-mi menu I've tried, but even that was so fresh, filling, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Banh Mi Land. Don't miss out!

Yelp
Hands down some of the best Banh Mi I have ever had. Great quality, you can tell everything is made in house fresh each day. Very generous sizes. The spring rolls are fantastic also!! Go early as they sell out most days.

David V.

Yelp
I liked this bánh mì place. I ordered the đất biếc or special bánh mì and I thought it was pretty good. I would probably order it again. While there waiting for our order, I noticed a lot of other Vietnamese people coming and going- so it was good sign. We also ordered the nem nướng spring roll. I liked the amount of veggies in the spring roll and the pickled daikon and carrots really gave it the acidity to break up the heavyness of the pork. What we didn't like was that the nem was sliced thin. I think we're not used to nem nướng being sliced like deli ham. The spring roll sauce was pretty good though. I would come back. The dining area is limited to the counter facing the window. I would just plan on eating in your car...

Yelp
The people here are just so nice and the service is great in this strip mall location. I loved the grilled pork banh mi. It's fresh from bread, veggies and perfectly tender grilled pork. I didn't add any sauce to it and it tasted great as is! I also ordered rolls to go. They were equally fresh and made to order. Nothing in the refrigerator case here, people. The ambiance is well, strip mall but don't take it personally. Chat with the charming staff.

Yelp
I've had takeout from here a few times, it's always busy when I come in to pick up, but the service and consistency with food is always great! Vermicelli bowl is my go to, the grilled chicken and beef and both so good and the portions sizes are great for the price. They also have a great Vietnamese coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food with a good price point. We enjoyed everything we had here - sausage spring rolls, egg roll, grilled pork banh mi and vermicelli bowl w/ 2 meats. The Special Vietnamese coffee was bomb with hazelnut and salted cheese foam - yum! Friendly, welcoming staff and service. Great for takeout and there are a few counter seats for dining in.

Yelp
Crispy pork belly banh mi! This is such a rare find in the area so I knew I had to get one for myself. Food & drink: (3/5) I was super excited for this banh mi since it's a type that I don't ever see unless I'm in SoCal. For starters, I really like the bread they use. It's different from my usual banh mi spots and holds all the insides well lol. I took a couple points off my rating just because I found the pork belly to be really bland. Since I'm Vietnamese, I'm pretty familiar with crispy pork belly dishes and this one just wasn't the best. I still finished it but would likely get something else next time. Their Vietnamese coffee on the other hand is delicious. It had a deep caramel aftertaste that was just so addicting. Service: (5/5) Straight to the point, quick, kind. All that you would want in a casual spot!

Yelp
This place is definitely underrated! We ordered the pork belly banh mi and the sandwich was packed with meat. The pork belly was super crispy and juicy, the bread was fresh and flakey, the pate was creamy and delicious. Wish it had more vegetables in it but overall would order again.
google avatar

Malia Y.

Yelp
Superb vegetarian Bahn mi. fried tofu (that actually tastes good by itself), served with delicious dried shiitake mushroom that's been cooked in teriyaki like sauce, good picked vegetables. Nice, conscientious people who run this place.

Yelp
Great spot in the area. This place gets busy for a reason. The banh mi sandwiches are huge! I ordered a special Vietnamese coffee which was super tasty and also the grilled pork banh mi. The banh mi sandwiches are big so you definitely will be full after! I asked for light/little bit of mayo sauce as I don't like too much and they gave me no hassle about it and made it perfectly. I enjoyed my sandwich in front in the outside seating. Plenty of free parking and friendly staff. They have limited seating inside and outside but it seems they get a lot of to go orders. Bright interior with an easy to read menu. The menu is affordable and has plenty of tasty options for pescatarians and vegetarians as well. I would return and would recommend. The meal was so satisfying and such a great lunch experience :)
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
Friendly staff and large portions for the price! Reasonable prices. Would go back to try more.

Tracy H.

Yelp
This is our 2nd time here and the best Banh mi place, we really love their special coffee and highly recommended to anyone going this way. We personally drove 2 hours to get there.
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
We got eggrolls here for a party. They were the hit of the party :) good price good service will be back
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
Excellent bang mi for excellent prices. I tried one of each and the special is the way to go. Next is the spicy pork. The rest were good but definitely start there. It's probably the only place you can get full for under $10 anymore.

Yelp
Sooo good! We arrived just in time before the lunch rush. Not a lot of seating and the venue is small. Definitely more of an order and go experience. The first thing I saw when I walked up to Banh mi land was a couple sitting outside revealing their order. The female had a bowl with crispy pork and I immediately knew that's what wanted. My first impression of this place was already determined by the appeal of her bowl. I knew it was going to be good. Since my boyfriend isn't a huge crispy pork fan, I chose to get the crispy pork Banh mi and we shared a double meat grilled pork bowl. The sandwich was delicious however the contents of the sandwich to bread ratio was 60% crunchy somewhat dry bread and 40% meat and vegetables. I prefer more meat in my sandwich so whenever I go back I'll get double meat. I liked the bowl more because the fresh veggies, meat, noodles and sauce is where it's at! Deliciousness. Someone also recommended that I get the tofu vermicelli bowl! Next time I go here, I'll see if I can get a combo of crispy pork and tofu. Overall, great food and customer service.

Yelp
Update, They now have umbrellas outside and larger tables. Food is still delicious. At this point, I'm thinking about asking one of the cooks to marry me.

Yelp
Great high quality banh mi. Generous and well seasoned meat, could maybe use a little more veg. Flavors feel authentic and traditional. We also had the shrimp and pork egg rolls that were good too. Restaurant itself is mostly a food counter where you order. They have some bar seating and couple tables outside by the parking lot.
google avatar

Cindy F.

Yelp
TL;DR: grab and go. Fast service. Generous proportions. Reasonably priced. Parking: shared lot. Atmosphere: small interior--very much a carry out place. There is limited bar seating next to the window in front of the registers and there are a couple benches to sit on while you wait for your order. Menu: mounted on wall behind the register. There is also a photo menu of the sandwiches on the counter next to the register for the visually stimulated. Menu is not descriptive but you can infer what the item is based on the name. If you're a seasoned banh mi eater, you will know what the base ingredients of banh mi are and the title of the sandwich just tells you the protein difference. Service: order and pay at the front, your name will be called once your order is ready. I ordered a few items from each category for 4 people during lunch on a Sunday and it all came out in less than 10 minutes. Great service! I witnessed the cashier put someone on hold and help a few customers at the register only to find that the person on hold was no longer there--she then called the person right back and apologized for the wait. I also witnessed some small talk between staff and repeat customers as they came in to get orders. The vast majority of banh mi contains the following as its base: bread, cilantro, jalapeño, cucumber, mayo, soy sauce, pickled carrot and radish slivers, and pate. Banh Mi Land Signature: has Vietnamese ham and Char Siu BBQ pork slices. I did appreciate the proteins being on both sides. Crispy Pork Belly Rice Bowl: pork was a little on the dry side but the flavor was all there. The skin was nice and crispy. Tasty dish and it comes with: rice, green onions, cucumber, cilantro, pickled radish and carrots, and fish sauce. Grilled Pork Patties Spring Rolls: does not have vermicelli noodles, but does have mint, ice berg lettuce, pickled radish and carrots. Tasty even without the provided peanut sauce. The pork patties look and taste almost like spam.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best Banh Mi spots I've ever been to! Interior is on the smaller side, but this is a great option for take out. I highly recommend trying the Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi. It was so good, I had to get another one! The Banh Mi was filled to the brim with fresh ingredients and tasty pork belly. I am already excited to make another trip to Banh Mi Land. Food is great, and the service is friendly. I can't wait to try the other options on the menu!

Yelp
Banh Mi Land is a small but very popular restaurant. When I arrived at 11 for an early weekday lunch, there were only two parties inside waiting for their food, but as I ordered and sat down, more and more phone orders and customers started to filter in. While it gets crowded, this place is primarily takeout only. There are a couple of counter seats, but there really isn't much space inside at all. Signature Banh Mi ($7.95) - The baguette is on the drier side, so rather than being airy, it crumbles apart. It has a crackly crust, which causes shards to fly off everywhere as it's bit into. The bread is almost mouth laceratingly crisp. The bun is sliced and slathered with sweet mayo and a bit of pate, which pate is very porky and irony in flavor like blood. Pate is predominantly made from liver, but it's usually not this bold in porky flavor and is instead more mild and savory. Perhaps I'm more used to eating chicken liver pate? At any rate, I usually love it but this pate is a little too pungent for me. In terms of meat, there's thinly sliced, bbq pork, light in color with only a bit of pink on the edges and some gelatinous skin. It's again very porky in taste. There's cha lua, tender and full of umami. For the veggies, the classic pickled daikon and carrot with a light vinegar tang, fresh cilantro and cucumber, and very mild jalapeno with no heat at all. They are pretty generous with the filling, so I feel like the sandwich is definitely worth the money. It's just too overly strong in porkiness and iron for my tastes. (3/5) Banh Mi Land has some other sandwiches on the menu without the pate. Perhaps I'll have to go for those if I visit again. As it stands, I thought the sandwich I received was only okay. Bathrooms - Two rooms, one is for disabled only

Yelp
Tasty sandwiches with fresh baked bread. We had a tofu and a chicken. Both were very good, stuffed with fresh carrots cucumber jalapeño. Plenty of parking.
google avatar

Abhinav S.

Yelp
Food - really good portions of veggies and meat. I got the grilled beef and it was loaded! The veggies tasted super fresh Price - everything is under $10 which for this portion and quality is great. Location - it feels a bit tucked away. Guessing if they were more exposed like Alderwood, there'd be even more business. A lot of new construction ongoing around them, so maybe things may improve in the future. Check out this place if you're craving a bahn mi!
google avatar

Kim D.

Yelp
We enjoyed this place and wanted to go back for their pork belly bowl but we ran out of time. The bread on their bahn mi sandwich was crispy and light. Their fried chicken wings were INCREDIBLE! However, their spring rolls were just meh... No taste, just a couple pieces of shrimp with iceberg lettuce, and the sauce was pretty bad. Pretty much everything on the menu is good, just stay away from the spring rolls.

Yelp
After an afternoon of thrifting my cousin and I stopped by Bahn Mi Land for lunch. This restaurant is conveniently located right across from the Goodwill in Lynnwood. We arrive around 2:30pm and it was relatively busy but it looked like people were getting their order pretty quick. We got the grilled pork and crispy pork belly bahn mi. Both sandwiches were perfectly toasted and a good amount of meat! Definitely one of the better places on the north side for sandwiches!
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
I got food to-go from here. I ordered their shrimp spring rolls. The peanut sauce was very watery, the spring roll itself was okay. I'm not a fan of mint in my spring rolls. I also ordered a chicken vermicelli bowl. The chicken had good flavor. I did think the grilled pork banh mi was the best thing I ate here. It had good flavor to it and the bread had a little crunch. Overall, I'd just get a banh mi here in the future.
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
Ordered the banh mi signature and it was alright. The bread crumbles apart unlike any other banh mi I've ever had in the past, and kept getting stuck on top of my teeth which was unpleasant. Flavor wise, it was good, but the only thing is they put a piece of the fattiest pork ever into mine so I was biting into solidified fat towards the end with no meat. Not something I was expecting or enjoy at all. Price was okay, not the cheapest around the greater Seattle area, but definitely not the most expensive. They did have other menu items that looked good so I'll definitely try again if I'm in the area.

Keil A.

Yelp
Great nice service, great Bahn Mi, good prices and value, not much seating, but just enough, super nice to the kids.
google avatar

Hoang N.

Yelp
Great banh mi spot! I think the price is pretty reasonable. Had gotten to try the signature, and crispy pork belly one. They were both decent. Although the signature is more worth it because it did seem bigger with different meat. One think I dislike was how the bread was kinda breaking apart. Other than that overall good spot. Service was standard. Small spot so definitely a Togo spot. There's also plenty of parking in a shared mini plaza.

Viv M.

Yelp
Ordered grilled pork banh mi and grilled pork rice dish. Asked for no jalapeño. When I got home, the banh mi has jalapeño and also two extra hair. Tried to call immediately but it's closed for the day. Hmmm. I wouldn't go back again.

Yelp
Quick stop at this restaurant for lunch and I am glad I found it ! The sandwich shop is conveniently located in the small shopping center . The shop is clean and we ordered a few sandwiches and rice plate . The lady at the register was very nice , patiently explained everything ( she could tell that we were not from the area and first timeer ) . She even offered extra plates for us to share . The food quality was good , they gave you decent amount for what you pay for . Sandwich was freshly prepared on the warm crispy French bread . The shop offers six sitting counter area for quick dine in . We definitely recommend this Vietnamese sandwich shop .
google avatar

Yelp
Great tasting authentic Bahn Mi's! Enjoyed the chicken and the beef! Great grab and go spot, and service was very friendly as well!
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
A hidden spot, in astrip mall behind the Lynnwood Goodwill. A small to go shop that also does catering. Too awhile to get service even though there were no customers. Service was ok. The chicken wings are good
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
Wow! Finally found a place that makes "real" Banh Mi, including pate' smeared on the bread. I grew up in Los Angeles and this was very common down there but I don't know why it is so hard to find this in Seattle area. I had their "Original" and it was very delicious. I will definitely come here again whenever I come up to Lynnwood to hit Lowe's or Home Depot.
google avatar

Min S.

Yelp
I recently stumbled upon this place while I was in Lynnwood. This place's bahn mi is reasonably priced, meat was not too porky and contents were fresh. I had 1 pork bahn mi for breakfast and ordered 2 more for lunch with my nephews. I would come back
google avatar

Timothy I.

Yelp
I love the casualness of this place! It is a bit cramped with its hole-in-the-wall feel, but otherwise inviting and the staff are very friendly and eager to answer your questions. Plus the price of the banh is actually pretty decent, all things considered (considering that banh mi can go well upwards of $8 in some places. The banh mi itself is great. Neatly packed, not too heavy on the sauces like pate or mayo. They have a few specialties like crispy pork belly that add some variety. Plus they have some rotating noodle specials that I have yet to try. I have also tried their bun bowls, which are pretty nice as well, albeit pretty heavy on the noodles. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place if you are looking for something fast and casual with nice service.
google avatar

Sherry W.

Yelp
I called for a pickup order and they said it'd be ready in 15min which was pretty fast! The food was affordable priced with my total less than $30 for 2 banh mi sandwiches (which were generously-portioned) and a sticky rice dish that was large! The food was all super fresh and delicious and the crispy pork belly banh mi was my personal favorite but I'm so excited to try all the other banh mis and also the specials! Great spot!
google avatar

Yelp
A hidden gem behind the retail shops off main 196th (acriss from Goodwill front entrance). Friendly establishment and service. Quick, clean and delicious! The pork belly sandwich is crunchy and flavorful and the main menu has all the staples you'd expect.
google avatar

Cristina B.

Yelp
A hidden gem for banh mi lovers! I looked up banh mi near me and this was the first restaurant, and wow what a find! This is hands down the best banh mi I've had! The bread was perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside, and the fillings were just as impressive. I got the classic grilled pork, and every bite was a symphony of flavors - the savory, marinated meat, the fresh crunch of the pickled veggies, and a perfect hint of cilantro and jalapeño. The portion was generous, and the price was more than fair for the quality you get. The service was quick and friendly! If you're a banh mi aficionado or just looking for a delicious, satisfying meal, this spot is an absolute must-try. I'm already planning my next visit to try everything else on the menu!

Yelp
Hi Food Lovers: First, there is plenty of parking spaces as well as street parking. You can sit at the table outside or there are seats available inside. Second, the people are quite friendly and kind. Everybody is treated the same excellent way. There is no favoritism. For example, the workers don't treat a person one way because they are Vietnamese and then another person differently because they are NOT Viet. You know? Third, beyond all of this if you want a little bit extra veggies or a tiny bit more of a sauce -- it's all good with them. A tiny bit more doesn't cost you more. Yes, of course, they have to charge you for extra MEAT; that's a given. Fourth, the food! I ordered the #1, Their Special Sandwich. I loved the pickled vegetables, all the fresh vegetables. The meat for this sandwich was lean Vietnamese pork sausage and some Fatty steam Pork. Worked well for me. Also ordered from menu the Shrimp Spring Rolls: Good but I'm going to add extra BBQ Pork to the spring roll next time. Other stuff? The bathroom is clean-- that's a wonderful thing! Overall, It was a very pleasant experience. My photos might tell you more. Please see attached. Nutmeg and family loves your food!

Yelp
Came here even though it was 20 minutes out because I love banh mi! It is in a fun spot in Lynnwood, perfect if you're on I5 and need a little pit stop. Prices are pretty good. The people working there are super nice. The food is good quality. I wish that the packaging for to go orders was better- we ordered 5 sandwiches and they weren't labeled (2 were for someone with mayo allergies so I had to dig in there a bit to figure out which was which). Also, because of the yummy fresh veggies + dressing the wrappers were a little soggy so it made transportation a little wonky. The spring rolls were delish. A little bit too much lettuce on some that caused it to fall out a bit but that's ok because it tasted really good. Overall I'd come back because it's good quality. They recently opened so I'm sure they are working out some of the kinks. I think it's great if there's some dietary restrictions because of all the options.
google avatar

Mia C.

Yelp
The crispy pork belly bahn mi is one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Soooo delicious!!!
google avatar

Kartheek J.

Yelp
You have to try the Vietnamese coffee and Tofu Banh Mi--they're nothing short of amazing! The Banh Mi is bursting with freshness and has that perfect crunch. If you're a fan of Banh Mi, this is a must-try!
google avatar

Nikita S.

Yelp
I decided to visit based on the reviews and ordered a grilled pork Banh Mi. I can see why it's popular maybe because of the price but personally, I found the sandwich very dry. You'll definitely need a drink to go with it. I'd rate the sandwich itself 1 stars, but because of the Vietnamese coffee bumping it to two. The service was very friendly

Yelp
As I was headed to work at a nearby clinic today, I always enter in the back way past Anytime Fitness and noticed a new sign in the gym's shopping center, Banh Mi Land. I tried to google them real quick but all I found online was a business license and no reviews of the spot. After I was done with work, I headed to Goodwill to do some shopping, and told myself to head over to the banh mi shop afterwards to check it out, grab lunch, and I am so glad I did! I ordered: - crispy pork belly banh mi - came out to a lil over $8 with tax - they took credit card I chatted with the owners a bit, and it sounded like they had only just opened shop a few days ago, they don't have a website up yet, or even take out menus. The owners were very friendly, brother/sister duo it looks, and they asked how I heard of them, and told them I drove by. Onto the actual sandwich. It was DELICIOUS. The bread was flakey, just the right amount of crunchiness and softness to it. The pork belly, pickled veggies, and everything in the sandwich had great flavor! I even sent a photo to my husband, who said just looking at the photo, the bread looks like a good banh mi sandwich bread. I'm a die hard Yeh Yeh fan, but this place might be giving a run for their money. I will definitely be back and I hope they are succesful!

Yvonne G.

Yelp
Very flavorful, refreshing, perfect combination and service is very friendly. Thank you Banh Mi Land

Yelp
Great new Banh Mi spot. Definitely has some of the traditional banh mi shop vibes. Staff was super nice and service was quick. Ordered the signature and the crispy pork belly sandwiches and both were very good. They didn't skimp on the meat which is awesome. Definitely will be my spot for my sandwich fix.
google avatar

Smith E.

Yelp
Food was okay but their serving for Vietnamese coffee was appalling. It barely filled half a cup, and it's mostly ice for $4. It leaves a bad impression even if the bahn MI was decent.
google avatar

Roxanna Z.

Yelp
Solid banh mi sold here. Lots of options and they so far have been very generous on filling up the sandwich. They can be busy in store so try calling in your order. My longest wait time has been around 20 min so far. The store front is pretty small with some bar seating and 1 maybe 2 outdoor tables. Have been taking this to go and while I haven't done this yet, they offer an option for "ready to eat" which has all the veggies/herbs already in the sandwich and an option to have this on the side. They also have the protein options avail in rice bowl or verm bowls which I have yet to try as well as a few spring roll and viet coffee options.

Yelp
The Banh Mis here are so delicious. I usually get the grilled pork sandwich, and the pork is always so juicy and tender. When it's a more hot day, I like to get the signature sandwich. The signature has that pate spread and it's delicious as well. My husband really liked the pork belly sandwich, as the mix of soft meat + crunchy/crispy ends make for nice texture eating. Anyway, this place is awesome try it

Kris O.

Yelp
It's perfect! I finally found the perfect bahn mi and it's fast and affordable too :)
