The 17 Best Restaurants In Alhambra - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"We’re going to be blunt here: This is the best banh mi north of Orange County. Even though some days the bread can be a little tough, the crunchy fresh vegetables, generous mayo and paté, and meaty fillings never let us down. Our go-to is the #2 special (all the cold cuts, grilled pork, and pate) with an added fried egg on top. It’s the ideal sandwich to eat in your car alone on lunch hour—the tiny, order-at-the-counter space doesn’t have much in the way of seating." - brant cox, sylvio martins

The 15 Best Bánh Mì in Los Angeles - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Being the king ain’t easy. Banh Mi My Tho might have started as a low-key strip mall deli slash convenience store, but over the years it’s developed a reputation as the most popular bánh mì mini-chain in LA County, one that has expanded to three locations across the SGV. But that expansion has come at a cost: consistency. Though the crunchy fresh vegetables, generous mayo and paté, and meaty fillings never let us down, we can’t say the same about the bread, which at times ranges from a little tough to downright mouth-scraping. The best bet is to head to the original location in Alhambra earlier in the day (they close at 4pm anyway) and get the #2 special sandwich with an added fried egg. On a good day it’s still the best banh mi you’ll find north of Orange County." - nikko duren, arden shore, sylvio martins, brant cox

Google
We got the number 2 grilled pork bahn mi recommended by a local and this spot was amazing! I love it so much, it had great flavor on the meat, plus the price is unbelievably cheap! A hidden gem. Customer service was excellent as well! We also got the ice coffee with extra condensed Milk (usually Vietnamese ice coffee is really strong) and it was perfect!

Colin Huang

Google
Stopped here just to get an iced coffee but it was only $5 for a large. Service was fast, efficient, and they were nice. Will definitely be back for a sandwhich next time im in the area.

Google
New location for me, but same great food and service. Line was non existent during lunch which is rare. Not sure if it’s because of the location or if they are new, but was a surprise. Hope they get busier for all our sakes though as we need great small business to flourish. I actually have two locations that are closer to my office, but good to know I have at least one more option to consider. This one has a lot more seating, albeit outside as well.

Anish Thakkar (Doc Thakkar)

Google
Great location with easy parking behind the shop. Got the grilled pork banh mi ($7) and the large 24 oz. iced espresso with condensed milk ($6). Cousin got the veggie banh mi ($7) and 16 oz. Thai tea ($5). Also enjoyed their pork egg roll for $1.25, hot and crispy! I really enjoyed the food and beverage, but did find it a bit strange to see just how many peanuts were in my banh mi. A little less peanuts and a little more grilled pork would go a long way!

Google
I love a good banh mi. I have seen their other My Tho shops and this is the first one I'm trying. I got the speacial (dac biet), grilled pork sandwich (thit heo nuong), vermicelli rice noodles (bun thit heo cha gio), and grilled lemongrass pork roll. The sandwiches are great but I wish the bread were baguettes. Their bread are house rolls. Vermicelli noodles could use some more sauce as the one that were in the box just didn't seem to really add too much flavor to it. Grilled lemongrass pork roll was delicious. It's basically a rolled up bun thit heo (vermicelli rice noodles). Dipping gives you more flavor in every bite. Took about 15min for the food to be ready, not too bad. They have seating on the side. Only downside is that they close early (4pm).

H Tsai

Google
Guy was nice but the bread was dry like it had been left out all day. When I eat banh mi, I look for the chewiness in the bread. This bread was dense and dry. The meat inside was pretty good. We got the pork and the special. Liked how they gave cucumbers in the bag of veggies.

Google
I highly recommend this spot for anyone in the SGV area looking for incredible value and flavor. While the food may not be "to die for" in the absolute gourmet sense, it is undoubtedly some of the best you'll find for the price. The Standouts: The Specialty Sandwich: This is a beast of a sandwich, stuffed to the max with ingredients. The bread is perfectly executed—crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft inside. A pro tip: ask to hold the peppers if you're sensitive to spice, as they bring some serious heat. VC Meatball: This was the star of the show for me. An absolute must-try! It's incredibly flavorful, juicy, and utterly satisfying for any meat craving. The taste is truly out of this world. Spring Rolls: Forget the standard Chinese takeout version. These are in a league of their own—juicy, tender, and masterfully balanced between sweet and savory. The Extras: The coffee and Thai tea are solid, above-average drinks that pair perfectly with your meal. The service is also a plus; the gentleman taking orders is exceptionally friendly. In short: fantastic food, generous portions, and reasonable prices. I will definitely be back. P.S. If you do not want to wait, you can always order ahead. They have about 4 ~ 5 spots in the back for parking

Google
This is a great spot if what you’re craving is Banh Mi and you’re on the go…. Or you can enjoy your sandwiches at the outdoor side tables. I was impressed that their sandwiches were tasty as well as their eggrolls, and I felt that the pricing was unmatched. The service was fast and good through the window. Overall, this is gonna be one of my top pics the next time I’m craving Vietnamese sandwiches. I’m in the area plus bonus points for having their own parking lot and just easy parking on the street.

Yelp
Best banh mi spots in the area and great prices. The service is excellent Everytime I come here. All 3 locations are great.

Yelp
Every time I pass by Alhambra, I will make a special detour to this Banh Mi My Tho. Their roast pork Vietnamese sandwich (#2) is what I order most often: the pork is roasted very fragrant, the marinated vegetables are fresh, the French bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the overall taste is very balanced. The portion is just right, and I am just full after eating it. Their Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk is also very good, the coffee is strong, the sweetness is just right, and it is very refreshing after drinking it. The food is served quickly, the service is also good, and the price is reasonable (cheaper than many places). Although it is just a small shop, there are always many people. It is the kind of old shop that only regular customers know. If you happen to be nearby, I recommend you to try this sandwich shop, it is simple and delicious.

Yelp
I love Banh Mi My Tho! I visit almost every time I come to the 626, but this was my first time at this particular location. The service was amazing and the employee who took my order was extremely friendly and patient. I appreciate that they include thit nuong in the dac biet. The bread had a nice, flaky texture on the outside, though the one I had was slightly stale on the inside. I would have preferred if the pickled vegetables had a bit more acidity and salt. However, I'm a big fan of how thinly they cut the pickled vegies. For my Bay Area folks for comparison, I slightly prefer Duc Huong because the bread is always thin but still chewy, but this place easily surpasses other South Bay options. I'll definitely be returning!

Yelp
I paid extra for my extras but it really didn't look like anything extra outside of the usual was packed in. However I will come back because their sandwiches were delicious. Cute little store front and just over easy and quick

Yelp
First heard about Banh Mi My Tho from a friend who suggested I check it out. However, when time came to give it a shot we would always end up elsewhere for some odd reason. Was driving home from work one day and noticed they had opened up another location nearby my office. Decided to grab some sandwiches for my coworkers on my way in. I opted for the lemongrass pork bang mi which was tasty! I agree this isn't your typical baguette but thought the bread had a nice crunch and an even better bite to it. The lemongrass pork was flavorful and the pickled veggies were perfect. I did order a grilled meatball banh mi to take home but wasn't a huge fan of the meatballs. Will definitely come back for banh mi's especially given that my old go to shop just doesn't taste as good anymore. Also appreciate this isn't cash only biz as I stopped carrying cash post pandemic.

Yelp
Food - 4/5 Great place for a quick banh mi. I'd say that I like this better than Lee's. Decent selection at a great price. Service - 5/5 Quickly and friendly. Ambiance - 4/5 I think this use to be a walk up Wienerschnitzel that got converted into a walk up banh mi spot. No frills no seats walk and order for quick service.

Yelp
The name is the same of the popular Valley Blvd location in Alhambra. Because... it IS a satellite of the same family-operated biz. A westsider foodie originally told me about how great the bahn mi was there at the Valley mini mall location...but now there's a branch practically in my backyard!! It's an A rating. They post the allergy notice, as they put peanuts in the Bahn mi. Prices reasonable. Best thing was service, it was great. Kevin, the cousin of the owner, was welcoming and friendly...and helpful! 5/5 Truly a family bixness. I love supporting mom-n-pop places. When I ordered iced coffee, he proactively immediately shows you the cup sizes for ease of ordering. I appreciated that. Took about 10 minutes or less to get my bbq pork bahn mi 5/5, no problem putting the jalapeño on the side, no problem adding the sandwich after I had already ordered. Also got the beef bahn mi. 4/5 The beef was slightly tough, but tasty...more bbq sauce please!! Also 2 pork egg rolls.5/5. The bbq was subtle with a pleasant tasty sour note, wished I had asked for some bbq sauce on the side....next time....the knife work on the veggies were lovely, nicely julienned. The bahn mi is huge, so good value and overstuffed, tho the bread was to the left of dry. Not as fresh as it could be, maybe try again closer to a newer fresher batch of rolls 3/5....It's not a baquette....more like a long hoagie roll, but all the ingredients helped to make the dryness more enjoyable and harmonious. Carrots peanuts cilantro lemongrass will do that. The pork egg rolls were good, not greasy, golden crispy on the outside. The iced coffee is strong with a slight burnt taste but I liked it and savored it all afternoon. Its strong wough to put hair on your chest!! I love strong coffee, normally I get it black, but the condensed milk was just right of sweet, not overly sweet, perfect. The bahn mi was so big, we'll be having it for dinner...size great for sharing. Lots of other things to try....I definitely will be back. I can't believe they've been here four years and this was my first time stopping by. Won't be my last.

Yelp
Recently visited Banh Mi My Tho again. I went around 10:00 am on a weekend and there was plenty of parking in their small lot. There wasn't anyone waiting in line, so I was able to order right away. I was really impressed that everything I ordered was ready within 2 minutes. I also requested for all the vegetables to be packaged separately from the banh mi. The ordered the grilled pork banh, meatball skewer, and a Vietnamese coffee. The skewer was not too salty and good. There was a great ratio of vegetable and grilled pork for the banh mi. I never felt like there was too little with every bite. As for the coffee, it was good and very strong.

Yelp
I've been eating Banh Mi first the last couple weeks. This place has been on my list for a while. The banh mi was I would say decent. I got the special. The meat, pate, vegetables seemed fresh, though they didnt really fill it out. I could tell it was good quality ingredients, but the bread unfortunately was a bit unremarkable. It was dry and almost a little stale for my liking. I feel like the bread should probably be the most important part of any banh mi. score: 6.5/10 for the sandwich. Above average for me but not memorable. I will try the grilled pork or beef next time. They had a lot of familiar vietnamese foods that I wanted to buy. I like that they had grilled meats/vermicelli platters, fried spring rolls, Pandan cake, and also small snacks like the sweet rice crepes and coconut milk rice. 9/10 for great selection. Customer service was fine. They were more matter of fact than friendly, but that didnt bother me. I wasnt unhappy. Banh mi came out in 5 minutes. 7/10. Would I come again? Yes. Would I get something different? Yes. Would I recommend this place? I would because there's something for everyone here.

Yelp
Banh Mi My Tho is located next door to Freezone Smog Star Station, with its own parking lot in the back and street parking also available. There is also a 30 minute parking spot right out in front as well. Freezone Smog Star Station looks like an old Wienerschnitzel restaurant. You order at the window and wait for your item. There are some tables w/ umbrellas on the side. I came by with my husband and our little girl dog on this past Sunday afternoon, around 2:30 pm. We had one person ahead of us in line. Once we were able to order, we ended up getting: Shrimp & Pork Summer Rolls, $4.56 prior to tax- We ended up ordering 2 sets of these (so that we both didn't have to share). Each order comes with 2 rolls and a side of peanut fish sauce. I liked my spring rolls and so did my husband. The price is fair for an order of 2. Vermicelli Rice Noodle, $6.39 prior to tax- For this portion, the price is actually pretty good. This came with a good amount of pork and a fair share amount of noodles for one person (you could have also picked rice instead of noodle, without an additional charge). My husband enjoyed this meal and would order this again. ----------------------------------- (Total= $17 after tax) Wait time was about 15 minutes. The employee who took our order was very nice and friendly. He also was quick about getting me a cup of water for our dog when we first placed our order. While we ate our food at one of the 4 tables outside, I saw several people walking up to the window and making an order (it seems like most of them were ordering a banh mi). I can see why Banh Mi My Tho is highly rated with 4.5 stars with over 150+ reviews and will definitely come back here again.

Yelp
Love this place. There's a small parking lot in the back but street parking is abundant. There's 4 outside tables too. Bahn mi here is just as good as the original location. They also take card here. The number 1 special is definitely the best.

Yelp
It's great for the price. Bread can use some improvements. They use house made rolls not French baguette which is fine, but their bread lacks any moisture. It's just dry and flaky. Everything else was great! Iced coffee is crazy strong! Dac Biet deli meats were perfect, no weird smells. Grilled pork marinade makes this place smell heavenly and was my favorite of the proteins. The pickled veggies are on the acidic side so before you dig in, I recommend you try to even out the veggies so each bite has a little bit of everything otherwise, a full mouth of only veggies might be a bit much lol Worth a stop! But I think I prefer banh mi hoa phat on Garfield.

Yelp
Came here to grab a quick breakfast after dropping my dog off at San Gabriel Animal Hospital for her spay surgery. I needed some Vietnamese Coffee in my body - STAT. So my partner and I dropped by here to give it try since we always go to Mr. Baguette or Lee's Sandwich. We ordered 2 veggie egg rolls (so expensive! $1.25/egg roll!) 2 veggie banh mi, and 1 cafe su da (Vietnamese ice coffee with condense milk) This order was pretty pricy since the sandwiches are the size of about 6 inches But I thought hey it might be tasty! So my taste buds were ready to give it a try: Veggie egg rolls: These were piping hot, much needed seeing how it was so cold around 9am. But I don't think I've seen egg rolls so anemic before... For the cost, I would've thought they would add more veggies in there but there was more of the egg roll wrapper than anything Veggie Banh Mi: These had too much pickled veggies, it gave it an all around sour and tangy taste and the veggie filling with veggie ham was barely there. I had to remove most of the pickled veggies as eating something so sour early in the morning is not good for my tummy (if your grew up in a Vietnamese household, if you know - you know) Cafe Su Da (Vietnamese Ice Coffee with condense milk): Not bad but not the best, I really like the one from Lee's Sandwich and Mr. Baguette Overall, not bad but I don't think I would go out of my way to come back

Charlie H.

Yelp
Fast, affordable and delicious. Fan favorites are the grilled pork or special banh mi but I like the Vietnamese meatball (xiu mai) with add on fried egg.

Yelp
Came to this spot as the Alhambra location our normal go to was closed. Not sure if not too many people know about this spot yet, but it was empty. Pulled up, greeted and easily placed my order. We ordered pork bahn mi and spring rolls. Well I will say the bread was oddly on the hard side. Very messy when we bit into the sandwich and the flavors were not as good as the Alhambra location . As far as the spring rolls. That was good but very messy. The wrap was not all the way around and when we bit into it.. everything fell out and it was a mess. The place was clean, the service was great, but the food was ok. Not what we know to be the regular spot.

Yelp
[ Food/Drink ] Like the other Banh Mi My Tho locations, the banh mi is super good and filled compared to other shops. This time I also tried one of their Black Box Specials, the Vermicelli Rice Noodles, and it was really good as well, especially if you love their egg rolls and grilled pork! Their grapefruit specialty drink was also surprisingly good, love that it comes with the aloe vera and crystal boba topping. The drink may be a tad bit sweet for people who don't like that much sweetness and I'm not sure if you're able to adjust the sweetness level. [ Service ] Customer service was great, the gentleman who took my order was nice. It was lunch time when I went and there was no line, just people who ordered before me waiting for their food. The food came out quick for it being such a small shop. [ Parking ] There's a small parking lot behind the shop and there's also plenty of street parking on the side. [ Restroom ] No restroom.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to get Bahn Mi! The quality is amazing and the prices are unbeatable. Whenever I need a meal under $10, I make sure I head over here.
google avatar

Irene P.

Yelp
This is my quick go to for lunch. I usually call in my order and it's ready to pick up in 10 minutes! Their breads are so fresh! The #1 is my favorite. It has cold cut meat as well as charbroiled pork. The egg rolls are also delicious here.

Yelp
My wife's been going to the original Banh Mi My Tho for years and it's the standard for us whenever we're in the area, but we just happened to be close to this location and decided to check this one out to see if they're making it happen here as well. The short answer is yes, this is still the same banh mi that's been our standard for years. The bread is crispy enough for banh mi without being mouth cuttingly hard like Lee's, the pork is still tender, sweet, and extremely flavorful, the servers are still down to earth and very helpful, and the ambiance is still basically nonexistent (pretty sure this one's an old wienershnitzel). If you haven't been to any of their locations, do yourself a favor and pick up at least BBQ Pork Banh Mi and a side of meatballs. Our favorite spot for those two dishes for sure.
google avatar

Jacquelyn C.

Yelp
Super quick service and the banh mi here is great. Perfect for a quick breakfast or lunch stop.

Yelp
BEST Bahn Mi I have had and my favorite location from this small chain. I love that they also offer a vegetarian option here. The coffee is so good and the sandwiches are very loaded with toppings and meat. Service is always so nice and quick.

Michelle B.

Yelp
My favorite Bahn Mi place. Grilled Pork sandwiches. It's so yummy with pickled veggies. You want more the next day. I bring in to work to share and everyone absolutely loves it. Call in and pick it up in 15-20 minutes. This location has least wait, plenty of parking space and friendly staff.
google avatar

Rani Z.

Yelp
My fav banh mi spot in the SGV! Love that this location almost never has a line & they also accept card! The food tastes just as good at the same cheap price. There are also some outdoor picnic tables if you want to dine there too. This location is also located in a former Weinerschnitzel building so it's hard to miss lol!
google avatar

Melina C.

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time. Ordered sandwiches for the fam, but I only had the Special Cold Cut Banh Mi. It was a great sandwich! The bread was crispy, so fresh. Great flavors, generous amount of meats, very filling. A really good deal for a small price. The cashier that helped us was really kind, noticed my mom looking at the menu and offered a paper menu for us to take home. Overall, wonderful sandwiches and great customer service. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a place you need to check out if you are craving bahn mi. Bahn Mi My Tho's BBQ Pork Bahn Mi is amazing it's tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The Sausage Bahn Mi is just as impressive, with a great balance of spices and a satisfying bite from the jalapeño is a 10/10. What really stands out, though, is the quality of their ingredients. The vegetables are always fresh and crisp, and the bread is consistently warm and crusty. On top of that, the staff here are always incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone craving a quality Bahn Mi sandwich in the 626. I'll have to give their specialty drinks a try next time I visit.
google avatar

Cindy B.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite banh mi chain in the area - for classic cold meat banh mis and warm grilled pork ones.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
The outside looks like a Wienerschnitzel but don't be fooled! Upon closer inspection this place is serving some of SoCal's BEST Banh Mi. You'll definitely want to stop by this place on your way home. Banh Mi My Tho is a chain and they have plenty of locations, and they're all good! Picking up some of these sandwiches are perfect for a beach day, before a hike, or any little trip somewhere. Perfect crispy and fluffy bread filled with fresh ingredients and cold cut and/or beautifully marinated meat! On top of that their prices are fantastic! Great deal, great food, nice and quick. This place definitely gives Lee Sandwich a run for their money.
google avatar

Keilab A.

Yelp
One of the best banh mi sandwiches around. The baguette is crispy and soft, grilled pork is flavored to perfection, loved the pickled radish, and slice of cucumber for texture. This location is a takeout only spot so it's quick and convenient. I will be back for my banh mi fix.
google avatar

Tam N.

Yelp
The 5 stars are based on pricing, customer service, and portions. Listen, you're not gonna to get a fine dining experience here, obviously. So for the people who come here and pay $6, and get mad because the food isn't up for standard is beyond me. This is a small business, with a different idea than other restaurants, fast orders, and decent food. All for an amazing price! I've been here about 15 times ... and I always enjoyed myself. I seat on the benches and enjoy the sun. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I've talked to a lot of their customers too. They always say nice things about this place. Especially because the staff treats their customers well. Love their summer rolls. Probably my favorite. :)
google avatar

Shelley W.

Yelp
Perfect grab and go lunch! Was craving some authentic Banh mi and finally got to try this spot. I ordered the #3 shredded chicken and a passion fruit green tea. Friendly service and the food came out in about 5 mins. The sandwich itself was loaded with the most tender and flavorful chicken. Lots of pickled veggies, cilantro, and cucumber. Passion fruit green tea was super refreshing as the summer heat is starting to kick in. Will definitely be back to try other items :D

Savay L.

Yelp
What a great little place. We have the grilled pork bahn mi and the dac biet bahn mi along with a couple of Vietnamese ice coffee. It was superb. The bread was crispy-crunchy on the outside and soft and delicious inside. The coffee was just the right amount of sweet and not over sweetened compared to other places. Two big thumbs up for Bahn Mi My Tho. Go and try it. It does get busy during meal times so make it worth your while and order extra for later.
google avatar

Natasha M.

Yelp
dangerously close to my office. love that i can get lunch for under $9. i always call in my order so i can pick it up and "beat" the lunch rush. they always make sure you're calling the right location, which is helpful for people unfamiliar with the different locations! my go-to is the grilled pork banh mi. i love the amount of pickled veggies that are provided and they come on the side so your sandwich doesn't get soggy and you can adjust how much veggies you want to eat ;) for those with a peanut allergy, they are topped with crushed peanuts! it rly brings the whole thing together! summer rolls are also great as an appetizer or a small lunch.
google avatar

Juan F.

Yelp
I've been a Banh Mi My Tho customer for like a decade now. Its been cool seeing them expand besides the Alhambra location. I came here for a quick meal and ordered a few bahn mi. About 5 minutes later, my order was ready and it was as delicious as always.

Yelp
For the price and service, this place is amazing! It's at the old Weinerschnitzel building, which I would go to years ago. Outdoor seating, enough parking in the back and on street. I've been told the other locations have long waits and you typically should call ahead for your order. I visited this location 12:30pm on a Monday. There were people waiting for their food but there wasn't a line. I also looked at the other locations' menus and this location is slightly cheaper. Excellent food, great prices, friendly service! This will be a frequent lunch spot for us!

Yelp
Banh Mi My Tho is one of the most popular and yummy banh mi spots in 626. There are three locations, but this one used to be a Wienerschnitzel from its iconic A-frame, but also means it's all outdoors (which I was grateful for since I had my dog with me). There are a couple tables outside for dining too. I ordered the #1 Special Banh Mi ($6) and #11 Shrimp & Pork Summer Rolls ($5). For drinks, I had a Coconut Water ($2) while my friend got the Thai Tea with Boba ($5.50). The menu here is more limited than the other locations while also being more modern, but has the essentials. Everything is delicious and the perfect quick meal or on the go. The biggest con was that my order took 20 minutes, but someone did make a bulk order before me.

Yelp
Fave banh mis and more! Banh mis have the perfect ratio of all the ingredients, especially the mayo and pate. My go-to snacks are the nem nuong skewers and eggrolls. Everything here is authentic and perfect for if you're on the go/want something quick or even if you want a full meal. Service is great and parking is pretty easy. There is only outdoor seating. Highly recommend!! (The location on Valley in Alhambra as well)

Yelp
Banh Mi My-Tho. IYKYK. Let's talk about it. IMO I think this place will become a gem. Slowly but surely everyone will slowly find out about them. If you have a subtle craving for Vietnamese food but you don't want the hassle of going to a restaurant or spending a ton, this is the place to go to. It's a small A-frame restaurant that delivers Vietnamese dishes at a high speed and unbelievably low cost. When I say low cost I mean LOW COST. I'm talking about a full meal for like $6. Their menu is super basic, covering the bare necessities of a Vietnamese menu. No complex dishes. Just a few appetizers, drinks, and the more popular rice and vermicelli dishes. It's quite the experience. Packed with flavor and portion sizes that'll make you want to bring a friend to roll you back to your car. I always get the broken rice and vermicelli dish with a side of meatballs. ‍ Like I said, IYKYK. They have parking in the back and tables along the sidewalk of the building in case you're trying for a daytime experience. But be mindful of the time because they close at 4pm everyday. The service is quick and kind and it helps the food taste even better. Always a good experience coming to Banh Mi My-Tho

Yelp
Their Vietnamese sandwiches are so delicious, I always get the grilled pork banh mi. We ordered Vietnamese iced coffee (warning: it is very strong!) , grilled banh mi, special banh mi, egg roll and a pork skewer. Everytime I have cravings for Vietnamese iced coffee and banh mi sandwiches, I find myself coming back.

Yelp
My favorite spot after riding the San Gabriel river bike path. Affordable food and my son loves the rice dish there. Very friendly staff that ask me how my ride went when I come by.

Yelp
We finally got to try Banh Mi My-Tho at this location (it used to be Wienerschnitzel and it's close to New Ave) we usually get it at the other location also on Garvey in Rosemead. Glad we ordered it by phone so we didn't need to wait too long when we picked up our food. We order the following: #1 Dac Biet Special sandwich x 2 ($6 each) Cold cuts (Sliced pork loaf, ham and head cheese), grilled pork and pate. #2 Grilled pork sandwich x 2 orders ($6 each) #5 Grilled beef sandwich x1 $7 #7 Xiu Mai sandwich (meatballs sandwich) $6 (Marinated ground pork and grilled minced onion all coated in tomato sauce) And 2 Black box specials: -Vermicelli rice noodles grilled pork & egg rolls x 1 $6 -grilled pork and broken rice with egg $6 The Banh Mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) were delicious! They gave us generous amount of meat and they were tender and not over cooked. They were very delicious. We put them into the toaster oven to make them more crunchy and crispy. I personally like the grilled pork and grilled beef more than the Special one. I like lemongrass and garlic marinated sliced pork with crushed peanut and green onion garnish. Price was pretty darn good. About $50 Sth for 8 orders! Pretty fast service! highly recommended!

Yelp
I went to a location that was actually closed that day so I was able to find the Monterey Park location which is actually near where I needed to be anyway. To-go window with some tables outside. I cannot believe how delicious and cheap these sandwiches were. I am from the San Francisco Bay Area and a sandwich like this would have cost me at least 15 bucks. I got the grilled pork sandwich was well as a pandan bread (which my son didn't end up eating because it was "green") for like 10 bucks. Straightforward banh mi sandwiches and please everyone keep supporting this local business so they can continue to feed the community at low prices. I really couldn't believe it! THANK YOU!

Yelp
Always a must get when you're in the SGV! My all time favorite banh mi place. Service/wait: - came around 11:30AM on a saturday. One person in line in front of me - friendly nice worker. He told me my food would be ready in 15 minutes and when I came back in 15 minutes it was ready as he said. Banh mi: - 10/10 so delicious. This place stuffs their banh mi so generously - fresh ingredients! - crispy bread but not too crispy itll hurt you Iced coffee: - very strong but I have a mid level to caffeine - they make it as how a vietnamese coffee should taste, delicious Things to note: - they have banh bo nuong and xoi banh kep for sale too!

Yelp
Simply, tasty, and affordable, easily my favorite Banh Mi place (just the same taste as original location except they take card). Highly recommend dropping by if you're in the area to grab a sandwich or snack.

Yelp
My brother introduced me to this family owned banh mi chain and ever since I'm in love. I haven't found banh mi this good in SF just yet so when I'm in the SGV I come here for their #1 sandwich & an iced coffee. I am told there are 3 of them in the SGV but this is the only location I've been to. I haven't tried their other sandwich selections beside #1 but i will work through the menu. So far, i have been there 3 times and has got the dac biet with the iced coffee.

Yelp
Same quality as the original and it's because it is run by their family. Cute building and a small parking lot. I originally thought it was a drive through, actually. Met Vincent, the original location's nephew, and had a great chat with him. My husband is Vietnamese so he always gets their #1 but I prefer their grilled beef (and sometimes also get a grilled pork one). Tried their summer rolls and they were good too. Hopefully someday they will have a location more east as we drove all the way from Moreno Valley to get some banh mi. Here's my trick to being able to enjoy these banh mi for days. We end up buying in bulk coz we live so far . We buy them with the veggies separated and store everything in the fridge. When we are ready to eat them, we toast the meat and bread and then add the veggies before we eat. Of course it's best to eat right away, but when you want to enjoy these and they're not anywhere near you, gotta make do, right ? Til next time!

Yelp
Pretty solid spot for banh mi at a super affordable price point! This was my first meal in LA this week, and it was the perfect grab-and-go situation as we had some scheduled tours for the day. I had the grilled pork banh mi (~$6) on the road and I was pleasantly surprised to find green onions and crushed peanuts in the sandwich - is this a west coast thing? Tried the special #1 cold cut (~$6) and it was also good but no wow factor - summer rolls (~$5) too, and iced coffee (~$5) could've been stronger but overall still a reliable meal.

Yelp
Loved it! A few weeks ago we had passed this place when we already had lunch, and I do love a good food shack! I knew I wanted a bahn mi (duh :)) and the suggestion was to either go with a number one or a number two. Since the #2 was his favorite I decided to give it a shot. My only real mistake was getting one sandwich that I would split with my husband, a mistake I won't make again since it was waaay too yummy. The baguette was really great, very crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, which made it very easy to eat. The pickled vegetables were a nice balance against the salty and sweet pork, which had just the right amount of fat. We also got the pork and shrimp spring rolls, which were OK, the real star is the Bahn Mi. Prices are super reasonable and there were lots of people doing big takeaways for family. I think this is owned by the same folks that own a very popular one a couple miles away, but this was great, and the line wasn't as long.
