Indoor Dining Will Return to NYC on September 30 at 25 Percent Capacity | Eater NY

"I noted that the Banty Rooster has shuttered since the start of the pandemic, joining other high-profile or beloved venues whose closures illustrate how deeply the city's restaurant scene was impacted by the prolonged shutdown." - Ryan Sutton

Why Landlords Refuse Rent Relief to Restaurants During COVID-19 | Eater

"A New York City bar that closed amid the pandemic after landlords declined to provide meaningful rent relief, illustrating how rent pressure and unyielding property owners have driven hospitality businesses to shut their doors. The closure is grouped with several other notable eateries that cited lease costs and landlord inflexibility as decisive factors." - Patrick Sisson

What It’s Like for Restaurant Tenants to Negotiate With Landlords Right Now | Eater

"A recently opened Village restaurant whose owner invested heavily in an attractive buildout; despite the tenant’s diligence and efforts to please the landlord, the individual landlord dragged her feet on required work and refused to offer pandemic concessions. The landlord reportedly had no mortgage and showed little interest in preserving the tenancy, prioritizing the property’s value and potential sale over supporting the operator. The attorney advising the owner now warns others against leasing from that landlord, using this situation as an example of operators who can be left exposed when a landlord is uncooperative." - Amanda Kludt

Banty Rooster Review - West Village - New York - The Infatuation

"The Banty Rooster is a rare example of a West Village place that exceeded our expectations. At first glance, this casual American spot feels like countless other places in the area serving potato fritters and short rib. But then you’ll notice that the fritters are served with salt cod aioli and the short rib crumbles when you dip it in the side of ancho barbecue sauce. Between the food, big space, and affordable wine offerings, this place should be at the top of your list for your next group dinner in the West Village." - Matt Tervooren

NYC’s Restaurant Industry Faces Staggering Losses

"A popular new West Village restaurant whose owner, Delores Tronco-DePierro, was forced to close after proposing a more tenable rent structure; the landlord reportedly refused, saying they were not in the business of subsidizing tenants’ lease agreements, underscoring tensions between operators and landlords amid the economic fallout." - Alan Sytsma

My husband and I were in the area and were looking for something different to try. We saw that this restaurant had pretty good reviews online and decided to try it out. When we both pulled up, we weren't sure what we were getting into. While there was a sign that said open and it seemed like there were people working on the farm, it didn't seem like from outside there was anyone in the store /restaurant area. Plus, the outside front area was a little lacking... Once we were inside though, we were definitely surprised. The entrance leads you into a cute little store area. Inside are all kinds of goodies from the farm and other local places. The restaurant area is in the back. It was definitely not what we expected. The decor was farmhouse yet modern. The menu had quite a few great options. We both had one of the burgers, which we both very much enjoyed. Employees were welcoming and friendly. If we are in the area, we will definitely visit again!

Interesting menu, outstanding food, friendly service, reasonable prices. Banty Rooster never disappoints!! I normally don’t post photos of my meal, but I’ll make an exception for this amazing Hot Honey Salmon BLT with home cooked potato chips!

Justin has knocked it out of the park with the BBQ Buffet. Pulled pork, BBQ pork, smoked brisket, hot sausage with peppers and onions, mac and cheese, baked beans and 2 different kinds of wings plus a salad bar with 2 soups all for a very reasonable price! 😲 I just wish I could give it 10 stars! This is a must-visit restaurant!

The service was horrible. Waited at least 30 minutes just to be seated, watching a line of impatient customers waiting just to pay their bill at the door to leave. But it only went downhill from there. Tons of hair in my food and when I politely mentioned it to a waiter, she claimed that it wasn’t the restaurants fault. No new plate, no refund, absolutely nothing. So I figured I wouldn’t even bring up the ice cold wings that I was served. Couldn’t even have my glass of water refilled until I was ready to walk out. It was overall just an awful experience, especially for a family members night out to eat as a birthday gift. Prices also through the roof!! It is a cute place so I was rather disappointed. I could go on but it’s not worth any more of my time. I’m not typically one to leave a petty bad review, but I’m just not impressed.

Nice spot for some groceries and seasonal goods like pumpkins. Really fun menu with great brunch options. I got the quiche which was pretty heavy and a large portion size but we also ordered the croque madame which was DELICIOUS and a good size. Our server was incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was a bit too heavy for me personally but some people might like that. The ambience in the dining area is a bit sparse with no music and a less cozy feeling but the indoor shopping area is quite cute and friendly. Would love to go back for the corn maze and other events they have!

We stopped in for brunch. It reminded me of a small-scale Cracker Barrel, and I can say with confidence it is so much more!! Forgive my pictures, I had already started drinking my Apple Cider Float and cutting up my waffles before taking pictures so the presentation is not there and they don't do justice to how amazing everything tasted. The staff were so kind and helpful with bringing a booster for my almost 2 year old. His hot dog was cut into a cute octopus shape! My husband had the Yosimities Burger which looked good, but we both agree was not as good as mine!! It's two days later and I'm still thinking about it. It is the Whiskey Waffles, which is "SLICED BANANAS SLICED AND FLAMBEED IN A WHISKEY PAN CARAMEL SAUCE, POURED OVER BELGIAN SUGAR PEARL WAFFLES AND TOPPED WITH CRUMBLED BACON”. Every bite was full of flavor and it worked so well. After we ate we walked around the store side. The meat in the cooler looked really good, and I will definitely have to come back to get something at the soda shop next time! We got a bunch of candy and headed out. We will definitely be back!!!

They have completely changed the offerings for fall activities. No hay ride. Kids can’t play on the very basic playground for free anymore, even that area has an entry fee. The pumpkins were all the same size which made it difficult for younger kids to enjoy. $6 to walk 2 minutes into a mowed field to pick up a pumpkin. Then $10 per child to play on a playground. No feeding goats anymore. No food trucks on site. It has really gone down hill. It was empty when normally it would have a packed parking lot. We have been going for 10 years. No Mima for sale. Nothing.

Our family has enjoyed the brunch buffet here a few times now. The offerings are good quality and it boasts a nice selection. It is priced fairly and kids meals are very affordable. My children love browsing the candy shop after. We are going to try out the bbq buffet night soon.
